Snowhook Patches! Featuring Chet And The Legendary Whitey-Lance!
“And they can be yours,” Admin says. “You can sport one of these beautiful patches – designed by Melanie, Plunderer extraordinaire – and at the same time support the wonderfully humane Snowhook Kennel in the their racing endeavors this winter. All proceeds will go toward dog care and remaining race expenses.”
“The patches,” says Spence, “are three by four inches and cost $15.00 USD per patch for orders shipped within the United States, shipping & handling included, $20.00 USD for orders shipped outside the U.S. Patches can be ordered online at http://snowhookkennelandchetthedog.blogspot.com. Here’s what Rebecca of Snowhook has to say:”
‘Last year, Snowhook proudly displayed Chet the Dog patches specifically designed for our 2012 Iditarod race on our parkas, dog jackets and sled bag. This new patch—what the Plunderers are calling the ‘forever’ patch—is timeless and features Chet and Whitey-Lance, Snowhook’s infamous wanderer waiting for the team under the burled arch which signifies the finish line of the Iditarod.’
Here’s the patch – Chet on the left, Whitey-Lance on the right.
Welcome Monty, Pixie & Bean.

9:59 am on February 5th, 2013
Wiping a tear from my eye, digging toe into ground . . “Shucks,” she says, “tweren’t nothing.”
Another interesting morning at Le Chez Le Pack. Started off by an entire cup full of wet coffee grounds dumped in the kitchen.
Too bad I can’t blame the dogs.
Also, did you know that “depilate” is not the same thing as “debilitate”. Just so you know. Luckily Zoë caught that mistake for me. Snickering. Sure changed the meaning of THAT sentence.
I should use my computer glasses more often and actually see what I’m writing.
10:00 am on February 5th, 2013
My eye and she says? Jeeze Louise . . I need to have my coco and breakfast.
10:09 am on February 5th, 2013
Melanie: We all agree…you have designed the purrfect forever patch. Someone here will be ordering today.
It is wonderful to read of Zoe home with the pack where she belongs. All is right again in their world.
Mom is off to get wonderfluffed. I’m taking a nap.
10:25 am on February 5th, 2013
I’m laughing. When did you use “depilate” Melanie?
10:27 am on February 5th, 2013
Rebecca, please check your SDD when able.
OHs: Where are youse guys?
10:28 am on February 5th, 2013
Masquers, as the day of our departure to the Great White North gets closer, I will need to call on the forecasting skills of WeatherKat.
10:36 am on February 5th, 2013
Melanie, Thank You! This has already been said, but the patches are perfect. They are going on sale at the right time…just before the Iditarod 2013. I am so ready!!
I am trying to talk mom into passing me off as an cannine assistant for people with disabilities so I can get into IHop today for pancakes, but mom is laughing at me.
I am wondering this morning how Rebecca and Lefty are doing.
10:41 am on February 5th, 2013
Rebecca!…I wish she would go to her V-E-T right after she takes Lefty to his…sniff!…I wonder what items Lefty will paw-pick-pocket while he is at that office…heh!
10:52 am on February 5th, 2013
Ordering NOW! Yikes…
11:01 am on February 5th, 2013

11:20 am on February 5th, 2013
Staff!…What about me?…sniff!
11:29 am on February 5th, 2013
Staff: Thanks for the heads up.
The patches are a thing of beauty. Thanks to Melanie for designing them and the anonymous donor for making them possible. Thanks to both!
11:32 am on February 5th, 2013
Thank you anonymous donor!
It was a great idea to make it a forever patch.
11:41 am on February 5th, 2013
Thanks again, Melanie, and thanks to anonymous donor!
11:53 am on February 5th, 2013
Anonymous!…I wish that anonymous donor would throw some money at the Feed the Giant fund…grunt! heh!
11:55 am on February 5th, 2013
Rose!…Check your SDD and report back!…snort!
11:57 am on February 5th, 2013
Wose: Are you going to be here for my birthday? My Two-legged says it is two days and I say you are coming to see me in two days. The answer must be yes.
12:25 pm on February 5th, 2013
Melanie – good job!
Anon. Donor – many thanks
So…they found King Richard. Under a parking lot. Hmmm. Wonder if the same team might come to the states to look for Jimmy Hoffa. He might well be under a parking lot too.
12:31 pm on February 5th, 2013
Rio – check your SDD, please
12:40 pm on February 5th, 2013
They have reconstructed King Richard’s face. I saw it on the internet. It looks more real than a painting. It is just totlly awesome to know what someone looked like that lived that long ago. He wasn’t bad looking.
12:45 pm on February 5th, 2013
Howdy! Wose, you called?
Everybody check your SDDs! (Just in case anyone sent you any messages.) heh heh
We here love that furever patch and will be ordering ours just as soon as we calculate out how many we will need.
We have to look up both of those Melanie words now.
1:06 pm on February 5th, 2013
Rio! Checked and responded. Don’t forget if you send your best picture to me, I will take you to Alaska.
1:08 pm on February 5th, 2013
O’Howlers: Just worried when I didn’t see you first thing. I’m getting used to seeing your posts at the very tip-top.
1:12 pm on February 5th, 2013
Belle Starr, is your birthday on February 7th? My big brother’s birthday is the same day! I might not see you on your birthday, but when I come, when can celebrate both are birthdays….mine is very soon. We will eat lots of ice-cream cake, and go shopping for sparkly things! I am so excited!
1:21 pm on February 5th, 2013
that are should be “our” jeez
1:36 pm on February 5th, 2013
There is a very good mystery novel by Josephine Tey about Richard III titled The Daughter of Time. Her modern-day detective, Alan Grant, becomes fascinated by Richard III’s portrait.
1:39 pm on February 5th, 2013
Why do I get my hair cut in the winter? Now it feels so much colder! Phooey.
Ordered my patches.
Off to do errands.
1:51 pm on February 5th, 2013
Thanks Stover, Mom thinks she would like to read that book.
2:00 pm on February 5th, 2013
Siber-H: I just checked at Amazon.com and The Daughter of Time is available in paperback and Kindle.
2:05 pm on February 5th, 2013
B.Stover. It had to do with a man’s back. Snort.
I was trying to figure out something for Zoe. Took two hours: was hung up on twice, talked to two people who figured out they couldn’t help me, ended up talking to one person who WAS helping when their server went down. I gave up.
2:07 pm on February 5th, 2013
B: Any book about Time is of interest to me.
O’Howlers: Checked and rechecked my SDD…No messages for me…Feeling quite left out.
2:18 pm on February 5th, 2013
Oh, and Thank You Anonymous Donor!!!
2:40 pm on February 5th, 2013
Happy Birthday Roger Staubach!
Speaking of birthdays. I see sparkles in the forecast for a certain Plunderer and her BFF Belle Starr – WeatherKat
2:41 pm on February 5th, 2013
Hmmm…something is not quite right in that last post.
3:21 pm on February 5th, 2013
Sammie can stop hopping up and down, for crying out loud. I ordered the patches.
3:38 pm on February 5th, 2013
MPM: Belle Starr likes the patches because they have a bit of a shine to them.
Almost half of our patch inventory is already gone! Yeep! They are a thing of beauty!
4:10 pm on February 5th, 2013
The blog is being wonky again.
4:11 pm on February 5th, 2013
SnowBella: Patches, Yeep!
4:32 pm on February 5th, 2013
Thanks Stover, We were going to look on Amazon later and see if we could get it on Kindle. Mom will buy it.
Yes, the blog is getting wonky again.
4:38 pm on February 5th, 2013
Boy I am glad I sent Rebecca an email with my order. I would HATE to miss those patches.
I had a hard time getting the blog to come up just now. I kept being told it wasn’t available. Maybe Mike Baker is changing the color on the links so I can see them. heh.
Now it told me to slow down I am posting too fast…? I am NOT.
4:47 pm on February 5th, 2013
I am having all the same technical problems with the blog that Staff described.
4:48 pm on February 5th, 2013
Blog smog.
5:02 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whew – we thought it was our computer going wonky.
5:04 pm on February 5th, 2013
Melanie! Anon Donor! Thank you! A Thing of Beauty is ordered.
Rio – check your SDD.
Bella – look for a package Saturday, I hope.
Happy evening all!
5:37 pm on February 5th, 2013
Woo Woo I just ordered patches and the book, The Daughter of Time, for mom’s Kindle.
5:55 pm on February 5th, 2013
I’ve ordered patches and I downloaded Daughter of Time to my Kindle. It’s been a long time since I’ve read it.
Siber-H: Let me know how you like it.
6:26 pm on February 5th, 2013
My Feed The Giant package is in ANCHORAGE, AK!
It went straight from Louisville, KY at 3:37 am and got in to AK at 6:18 am. Methinks the time changes were a help there.
Only 2 naps today. Hmm. Hope to catch up with my life at some point.
6:33 pm on February 5th, 2013
Stover, I will let you know. I am sure I will like it.
6:35 pm on February 5th, 2013
Belle Starr: Please ask your two-legged if she saw my SDD this morning.
6:39 pm on February 5th, 2013
Bella, please check SDD when you get a chance. You know . . in between the two full time jobs, being sick and being a puppy DogMother.
7:06 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whew! Mom kind of panicked when she checked the blog on her way home on the iphone (at a red light, of course.) She saw that the inventory was going fast and wanted to make sure she got our order in. Can’t wait to see it in person. Thanks to Melanie and to the AnonDonor!
7:11 pm on February 5th, 2013
Legendary? I just noticed Spence described me as legendary? When did that happen?
Wose: Yes, my mama received your SDD.
7:17 pm on February 5th, 2013
W-L, thanks for checking. And why wouldn’t you be legendary?
7:19 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whitey-Lance, You are legendary. You are a hero to all us Sibers.
(whispering, you know why)
7:27 pm on February 5th, 2013
Rebecca, you never mentioned who the proud parents of the puppies are! Inquiring minds want to know.
7:33 pm on February 5th, 2013
SiberH: Is it because I did that one thing that one time?
G&BB: Bonnie as in Bonnie and Clyde is the proud mama, and get this, Lefty is the papa. My Lady says he leapt the fence of the chastity pen in a single bound for love. My Lady also mumbles things under her breath about no job, four mouths to feed, so proud of himself…
7:53 pm on February 5th, 2013
Lefty!…Leaping Lefty! How did he fare at the V-E-T today?…snort!
7:53 pm on February 5th, 2013
Downton!….Oooooer! My friend has supper in the oven and now we are settling in to see some Downton Abby…snort!snort!
7:55 pm on February 5th, 2013
Lefty’s appointment isn’t until later this week, but that guy won’t do for love. He makes me proud.
7:57 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whitey-Lance, Yes, it is because you did that one thing that time.
7:58 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whew! We were in a bit of a panic too, when we read how quickly the patch inventory is being depleted. Finally, we got Mom’s attention to put in our order. Now all we gotta do is waaaaaiiiiiiitttttt. We know it will feel like forever. Thanks so much Melanie and Anonymous Donor.
W-L, Siber-H is so right. You are indeed a legend to all of us Sibes. You went on the walkabout the rest of us dream about. Mom says we should NOT say that, but oh man! To be a Sibe on our own, up in the Great White North, playing hero to the lost musher. Sounds like bliss.
8:05 pm on February 5th, 2013
Howlers: Did my Lady ever tell you AJ and the trappers would be following my trail, and then find my path had been crossed by lynx and wolf tracks? Did she ever tell you one of the trappers told my Giant he needed to tell my Lady it didn’t look good for me? My walkabout had it’s moments, but let me tell youse, I have never been happier to see the Giant in my life. My Lady says Disney couldn’t have written a better story.
8:09 pm on February 5th, 2013
W-L, our moms always talk like that. Always thinking the worst.
(Whispering) Both Dima and Kat would have been scared out of their minds. The Hot One? Probably not.
8:11 pm on February 5th, 2013
Whitey!…Besure that news reporter hears all about your story…heh!heh!…You never know!
8:15 pm on February 5th, 2013
I can’t remember if I was scared or not, but I hated to think of the Giant lost and on his own and without me. You tell a guy to stay put and you’ll be right back, and does he listen? No. Maybe he didn’t hear me. He should have his ears checked.
8:24 pm on February 5th, 2013
Heh,
Staff sent a certain blog post from yesterday to Mr.Staff. Today after work he said, “So, members of the blog caused the power outage at the Superbowl.” Staff had to say yes. She explained about BStover’s attitude towards football (and baseball and…)and her tendency to become belligerent when thwarted. Heh. He didn’t know an Professor could be that way.
He is glad to be one of the few who knows the truth. ;-D
8:30 pm on February 5th, 2013
Staff: I received an email from Mr. Staff wondering about your mental health…heh!
8:35 pm on February 5th, 2013
More Shakespeare Uncovered available on PBS.org.
8:40 pm on February 5th, 2013
We haven’t heard from Barb today. That old relic of a computer must be too much for her at end of the day.
8:49 pm on February 5th, 2013
Mr. Staff!…One of the Few, one of the Proud…snort!
9:01 pm on February 5th, 2013
The truth can always be found in the ink of the Plunderers’ Snortington Post.

Rebecca!…Snortington Post!…heh!heh!snort!
9:29 pm on February 5th, 2013
Philip who ran our team, just posted some pictures of the team on the trail on his facebookie. Some of them include a certain eyebrow dog with a pug and siber heritage.

9:52 pm on February 5th, 2013
Rio, Junior is quite handsome! But who is the guy with the big nose in the last photo? Love the photo!
9:58 pm on February 5th, 2013
Are you saying my nose is big? I had no idea.
9:58 pm on February 5th, 2013
Philip Walters took some Great Photos with Pancho and Lefty and Rio and the boys.
That last guy has One Gem of a Nose. Heh.
9:59 pm on February 5th, 2013
Sorry, Jem.
10:02 pm on February 5th, 2013
Gem!…He’s got some blue eyes that rival SiberH’s!….snort!…What a schnoze!
10:04 pm on February 5th, 2013
My Mama loves my nose, but she said I didn’t get it from my grandpa, Fargo. His nose, or so I’m told, was long and narrow. There is a picture of me in the calendar this year, but I haven’t seen it. I’m sure I look as handsome as ever.
10:06 pm on February 5th, 2013
Those are some great photos!
Nighty spaghettios.
10:11 pm on February 5th, 2013

Criminals!…There is a really good photo of Pancho and Lefty too…heh!heh!….All of the photos are great actually!…Woooo!
10:20 pm on February 5th, 2013
Rio: I think Junior looks like he is smirking in the photo where is chose not to bark. He’s a chip off the old pug.
10:25 pm on February 5th, 2013
Smirk!…I’m so damn proud of him!…snort!…Running with the A-Team!….Wooooooo!…And remember, he is fully sponsored too!…chuffle!
10:31 pm on February 5th, 2013
I just saw the picture of
Jem on Facbookie. Beautiful eyes, wonderful nose, but that grin captured my heart.
Hoping tomorrow is a better day. Still recovering. Staff, how are you doing it?

Wow!
Great close-ups of the doggies! Thanks, Philip! Junior is very photogenic and look how much smaller he looks than the others.
Melanie & AD: The patch is perfect! It doesn’t get any better than this. Thank you.

I am outside at the pupternity ward right now listening to the cooing of little pups while mama cleans them. That and dogs eating are some of my favorite sounds.

Waaaah! I can not see the video that Philip posted. I want to see it too!
