Snowhook and the Little Detective Agency Litter
Here are two of the litter mates named after characters in the Chet and Bernie mysteries – thanks for the photos to Rebecca, CEO of Snowhook Kennel.
Iggy on top, then Little.
Welcome Jack (he’s pretty special).

Gooood morning, everyone! Little and Iggy are adorable. Iggy’s name really fits as he is really different.
Jack, Pookey (the blonde tripod) welcomes you. We of the nation within are all special, some of us even more:)

Greetings HOH!
The Little Detective Agency (Willow Branch) are so cute! They are getting big since we visited the back in February. Grizz and I could hold them in our hands! Now they are big, and growing fast!
8:58 am on May 13th, 2013
The little guys are cute. I love Iggy’s coloring.
Good morning all.
9:46 am on May 13th, 2013
Greetings to Iggy & Little!
Good Morning Everyone.
Staff: You reminded us about Mad Men last night, but too late as the message was read this morning. Hope it will be On Demand!
9:52 am on May 13th, 2013
Great pictures. Iggy and Little are cute. I can almost smell the puppy breath. Nothing better!
10:19 am on May 13th, 2013
Rose, You & Grizz are so lucky…you already got to meet the little cuties…bet they aren’t so little anymore!
10:51 am on May 13th, 2013
Masquers, they were the size of the palm of your hand. Grizz and I do consider ourselves very lucky. Being with those puppies…well, now Grizz and I know the meaning of life!
10:52 am on May 13th, 2013
Good Morning All
What cute puppies…Iggy and Little. There could be future Iditarod stars in that litter.
Mom agrees with the Nothing in Life is Free Training method. She used it when I first came to live with her and to a certain degree she still uses it. I think it is a bit silly myself, but whatever.
10:53 am on May 13th, 2013
Bear, the Prof and I always watch Mad Men on demand.
11:10 am on May 13th, 2013
Just got a Roku box on top of our cable with HBO. We now have enough to watch through a major illness. Hope that doesn’t happen because I just got invited to work until Christmas at my college.
Best mother’s day gift Donna ever got.
11:23 am on May 13th, 2013
Terry, heh, heh heh, mom knows just what you mean. She loves him more in smaller doses. And the extra money is a plus.
Mom is off to another graveyard. I just don’t get it. Lots of room to roam but she never takes me. hmph!

Siber-H & FinnDog: Am I being obtuse? What exactly IS the NLF (Nothing in Life is Free) Training Method?
11:38 am on May 13th, 2013
Heh, heh…or as Melanie likes to see it…the NFL Training.
11:46 am on May 13th, 2013
Macy – yep three day work week followed by four day weekend, and the greatest luxury is to work when you really don’t need the money.
12:03 pm on May 13th, 2013
Bear, A short explanation for that training method is that the dog always has to work for anything the dog wants. It is a good way of establishing leadership. For instance, before a meal a treat, or petting, the dog has to sit or shake hands or whatever before the dog gets what it wants. The same can be true of letting the dog outdoors in the yard….the dog should wait and be given permission before exiting the house.
I still have to sit before meals and most treats….mom calls it just a reminder.
I know Finn’s mom will agree with this: When a rescue enters a new home, the humans need to establish leadership immediately because it will make the rescue feel more secure in their new home. A well-respected dog behaviorist, a vet, once titled one of his books, “Love is Not Enough”.
12:13 pm on May 13th, 2013
Another good thing about The Nothing in Life is Free training method is that it can be combined with other training programs, like positive re-enforcement.
12:19 pm on May 13th, 2013
Thank you, Siber-H. This training method makes good sense and seems to ring a bell with Someone Here.
My Motto is: Always be on your best behavior when treats are involved.
12:21 pm on May 13th, 2013
BSD: think of it as dogy tough love.
12:21 pm on May 13th, 2013
Melanie: It could be NFL! Nothing Free in Life.
btw: Please check your SDD.
12:35 pm on May 13th, 2013
Good morning! Iggy and Little are cute, as are Chet and Bernie of the LDA Litter.
Nothing in Life is Free…we here usethat too! We don’t do any of our cute stuff until the ‘rents pay! You want a High Five? Get out the treats! You want a kiss? Give me a pat. You want me to go back to sleep? Let me up on the Big Bed.
Yessir! That method really works on our pack.
12:59 pm on May 13th, 2013
Mama Meash used the NFL method of training on me. If I wanted to get somewhere, I had to break a tackle. That never happened.
1:10 pm on May 13th, 2013
O’Howlers, I prefer your training method. Very good!
2:04 pm on May 13th, 2013
We here at the Kennel are happy with the naming of the litter; it is a small way to show how much we appreciate SQPA and all of youse. Lefty, likes the theme, but it took a bit of getting used to for him. He originally wanted Girl Lefty, Lefty Jr., Lefty III, and No-No-Your-Other-Right.
Howlers: We subscribe to your training method.
2:25 pm on May 13th, 2013
There’s a new TV series starting on June 24th that I expect to be interesting. It’s Under the Dome, taken from the Stephen King novel which I’m just reading. I got the book 6 months ago and realized I had better hop to it when the TV was announced.
2:29 pm on May 13th, 2013
No-No-Your-Other-Right has quite a ring to it. His call name could be Nie-or.
Congratulations to Terry’s wife! Whoops. I mean fo Terry . .
Back from the v e t. Gracie’s sore paw is not infected anymore, bit there seems to be something in there. Soooo, more epson salt soaks and if it does not come out, she goes in Friday to remove the whatever it is.
2:36 pm on May 13th, 2013
Speaking of training NFL style or not, when Grace and I walked into the v e t office there were two untrained dogs there. Grace and I went onto a different portion of the waiting room.
The woman had them on long leads and they kept being aggressive to Grace. He woman thought they were being cute. Jeeze Louise! The vet got them out ASAP, and I said, “If Grace had acted that way to her dogs, she would have call the police.” The vet agreed.
Of course, instead of acting aggressive, Grace just looked at me and said, “WHAT is their problem?”
Members of The Pack have been known to sit on annoying dogs.
2:52 pm on May 13th, 2013
I wish Grace had sat on the dogs.
Lefty is making me laugh.

Melanie, Gus has the same reaction whe Moe does one of his freak out-tail attacking episodes. He just sort of raises an eyebrow at him. It seems to have a calming effect.
Mo is afraid of men and they had some guys there this morning puting in some new flooring. Barb told Kelly to put Moe on a leash and keep him at her side. He quited right down and never barked again.
Here is a good website for the NLIF method. We think it will be good for Moe. He might not have been abused, maybe just under trained and socialized. k9deb.com/nlif.htm
3:01 pm on May 13th, 2013
On second paw, try this: http://www.k9deb.com, then click on NLIF on the right.

Good afternoon everyone. It has been another garden morning here. The weed barrier and the landscape ‘fabric’ are down in the first raised bed and refilling has begun. Then lunch was needed and Mr.Staff wanted to go to the library and I have a ‘coffee’ invitation. So maybe not much more will happen today unless we become energetic after supper.
it is supposed to get into the 80’s today and the wind is really brisk. It is drying stuff out very fast. What a difference a day makes.
3:30 pm on May 13th, 2013
Very chilly here last night. We gave mom a 3 dog night ’cause she was shivery. Today house still hasn’t gone above 70 even though the sun is out. Looks like 80’s the rest of the week. Pool play!
3:33 pm on May 13th, 2013
Where, oh where is that little pug, Rio?
I felt bad for Beau last night when he said he looks for that little girl when he goes out for walks. sniff
3:38 pm on May 13th, 2013
Barb, Moe quieting down is another very good sign. We have known those that never shutup.
3:40 pm on May 13th, 2013
The water in the bird bath was ice this morning.
3:43 pm on May 13th, 2013
Hmmm. Been cold and a bit showery today. Tonight is another freeze warning. Tomorrow mostly sunny but still cool.
AND, of course the furnace is broken. We are using the Fur-Naces at night.
B.Stover, I, also, wished Grace would have sat on them. Though a more productive “sit” would have been on their owner.
I have learned . .
There is a difference between hanged and hung, but
There is no difference between spelled and spelt, nor
While and whilst.
Except that I think spelt and whilst sound much cooler.
The things I look up in the middle of the night. (Rolling eyes here)
5:12 pm on May 13th, 2013
At one time there was this distinction: Laundry was hung but a person was hanged. I don’t know if that is the case any longer.
I think “whilst” is mainly British.
5:26 pm on May 13th, 2013
B.Stover, I watching “Sherlock” again. He makes that distinction. And yes, whilst is mainly used in GB, but doesn’t it just sound cool?
5:39 pm on May 13th, 2013
Melanie: LOL! “Whilst” sounds cool but it’s harder to say than “while” so Americans won’t use it.
I’m going to watch Elementary again at some point. When does Sherlock make the distinction?
6:05 pm on May 13th, 2013
I’m so excited, I’m twirling. A package has arrived in the mail, for me me me! I have no idea what it is, and I’m not allowed to ask. Still, it is for me me me!
6:12 pm on May 13th, 2013
Oh, oh. It is Monday and still no word from T&G’ mama. Hope she is ok and not run ragged from being caregiver and breadwinner.
6:36 pm on May 13th, 2013
Kat, how do you know the package is for you?
6:46 pm on May 13th, 2013
Mom went to get some heartworm stuff for Belle today and found out that our v e t went over the bridge. Can you imagine all the furever friends were there to meet her?
6:53 pm on May 13th, 2013
Macy, I believe that a good v e t would be bowled over from all headbumps and licks.
B.Stover, I can’t remember which one it was. He was bored, and a man in prison was trying to talk Sherlock into taking his case. The man does not use English correctly, and keeps correcting him.
7:01 pm on May 13th, 2013
Here!…I’m here! Does anybody care?..snort!…heh!…Its been a very long day without a computer…sniff!…Someone took it to the busy-damned-place with her and that left me out in the cold!cold!cold!…Even though it got really hot here today…sniff!…First time it seems like Spring is actually her…grunt!
7:03 pm on May 13th, 2013
Pups!…snort!…What a great looking bunch of little guys and gal…wheeze!…All Champions, I am very sure…wooooo!
7:06 pm on May 13th, 2013
Rio, You were missed today.
Macy, That is sad about your vet….we are sorry. She will feel right at home at Rainbow Bridge.
7:08 pm on May 13th, 2013
Princess, I know the package is for me me me because the mailman delivered it here, to my house.
7:10 pm on May 13th, 2013
Kat!…Why don’t you just rip that package open with your bare teeth?…snort!…Ask for permission afterwards…heh!
7:16 pm on May 13th, 2013
We were cut of the same collar as Rio. Kat, just open it and then look adorable and forgivable later. And, if anyone asks, we never had this conversation.
Macy: Head bumps and licks to those who loved your vet most, both two and four-legged.
7:19 pm on May 13th, 2013
Names!…Glad to see Pancho and Lefty are using their real names again…heh!heh!…What a coupla characters…snort!
7:22 pm on May 13th, 2013
We tried Paul and Leo out on our Lady. She saw right through it—We know, we are just as surprised as you are. For now, we’ve burried the names in the mud for safe keeping but possible later use should aliases become necessary for a mission.
7:25 pm on May 13th, 2013
RIO! I missed you! Did you see I was the first person to mention you?
7:32 pm on May 13th, 2013
Yes, Kat, it is better in this instance to ask for forgivness and not permission.
7:47 pm on May 13th, 2013
Youse guys are slow. Did you really think I had not already opened that package? Of course I did, just as soon as the mailman left and right after I ate the cookie he always gives me. But I tell youse…I have no idea what this thing is for.
7:54 pm on May 13th, 2013
We are confused (nothing new). Mom says we are going to bed early tonight and early tomorrow morning she’s getting under a knife. Said when she wakes up, if it is ok, she’ll climb under a corner of the quilt. She’ll let us all know more later. Please keep her in pawsitive thoughts.
7:54 pm on May 13th, 2013
Kat!…heh!snort!heh!…You have no idea what it is for?..snort!…That is probably a good thing…chuffle!
7:55 pm on May 13th, 2013
Link!…Off Damned Link, OFF!…grump!
8:05 pm on May 13th, 2013
My Dear Niece Kat – You might be in big trouble. You took the cookie and the package from the mailman and then you chewed the package open. That could be some kind of mail fraud, but since it doesn’t bother the marauding goats, it doesn’t seem to bother you either. Well then, what does this ‘thing’ look like?
8:07 pm on May 13th, 2013
HOH: You’re in our thoughts. Take more than a corner and remember there are plenty of snacks.
8:10 pm on May 13th, 2013
Thing!…That thing is probably all chewed up and indescribable…grunt!….Good job Kat…heh!
8:20 pm on May 13th, 2013
HOH, we are crossing all paws for you here. Check in when you can.
It is super cold (Siber weather) here. Mom wants to head up to bed early. Nighty night.
8:39 pm on May 13th, 2013
HOH You will be in our thoughts and prayers. When you can, let us know how you are doing.
It is hot here…not Siber weather.
9:00 pm on May 13th, 2013
The Little Detective Agency Dogs are very good looking and I bet they are extremely talented as well.
HOH’s S. & T&G’s A & L: Thinking of you. Hoping all is well.
9:11 pm on May 13th, 2013
Rio, The baseball game….GAH
9:30 pm on May 13th, 2013
HOH mom, dainty licks are good for what ails ya. Just say the word. In the meantime here are some of mom’s favorite flowers for you.

9:40 pm on May 13th, 2013
HOH: will be thinking of you tomorrow. Snuggle under the quilt for however long you need. It is very healing.
I think I am going to like the real Iggy as much as I like the book Iggy. I can just tell.
Been doing paint touch ups and the paint colors are not matching. I had gone and bought 1-qt cans of all the colors I used and either the color is slightly off or the finish is off so spot touch ups are becoming entire walls. Just my living room has 5 different colors (but Rebecca and AJ seemed to like it). I love to paint but I don’t have time for this.
9:47 pm on May 13th, 2013
Game!…bah!humbug!…Can this get any worse?..grunt!
Walk!…We have not walked yet because it was so hot today compared to what we have become used to…sniff!…She is afraid Beau and I will fall over dead or sumthing…heh!heh!…If it doesn’t cool off soon, we will not go at all…wooohooo!
10:05 pm on May 13th, 2013
Hey HOH’s Two Legged! Get under that there quilt. Just brush the crumbs out of the way, and grab some comfort.
TTFN except one more limk jist foe Riö.

I hate it when my paws get all discombobulated.
10:09 pm on May 13th, 2013
Rio, you had snow and we had very warm temperatures. Now you have all the heat and we had snow yesterday and today. What the heck.
10:25 pm on May 13th, 2013
Why does Iggy look so different from the other three pups? Who does he look like?
Night all.
10:31 pm on May 13th, 2013
Imposter-S!…We have heat here, oh boy oh boy…wheeze!…We left the game and went for a late walk, thinking the sun was almost down we would be able to handle it…grunt!..It still seems hot because we are used to 20-40 degree weather..wheeze!…Now it suddenly shoots up to 86+ and expects us to adapt immediately…grunt!…I don’t think so.
10:49 pm on May 13th, 2013
Sharon, Best wishes with your knife problem. The quilt is always there and ready for whomever needs it. It fits everyone. Tuck in under it and let us know how things go. We have you in our thoughts.
I am also concerned about Amalia and Leonard. I suspect she had a hard time this weekend and hope all is well with her. Check in when you can T&G.
10:50 pm on May 13th, 2013
Macy that picture is beautiful. Is that your garden? Ours looks like dirt right now. Lots and lots of dirt and some quack grass. Sniff.
10:54 pm on May 13th, 2013
Staff!…My friends little garden spot and all her pots look bleak and empty right now too…sniff!…Maybe with this annoying hot weather, she will be able to plant some stuff soon…grunt!
11:08 pm on May 13th, 2013
Hoot!…Well, the blog is just filled with guys going to bed early…grunt!…How much fun is this, I ask….wheeze!…Even Beau is still up and snuffling around over here…sniff!…I am not going to sit here and talk to myself. I need to watch our Rockies Manager stumble through his news interview…grunt!…Someone I know can relate to that….heh!
12:51 am on May 14th, 2013
I am going to bed any minute also Rio. But Mr.Staff just stuck his head in the room and said the Twins did good tonight. We could use a little good right now.
Nighty Noodle.
6:26 am on May 14th, 2013
HOH- Thinking of you today and hoping everything turns out well.
11:19 am on May 20th, 2013
Hi! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after checking through some of the post I realized it’s new to me.
Nonetheless, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll
be bookmarking and checking back often!
