Snowhook
Have we mentioned Snowhook lately? It’s a racing kennel up in Alaska that we and some people here at the blog help sponsor. A wonderfully humane kennel, we should point out. They’re having a fundraiser starting today – the auction link will be up at one o’clock – http://snowhookkennel.blogspot.com.
Have a great day before the 4th, everybody!

Good morning, everyone! WE are ready…Darah and Blondie created a diversion, I stole mom’s wallet and checkbook and Pookey got out the credit card and replaced thinks to cover our tracks. WE are ready as can be for the auction 🙂
8:54 am on July 3rd, 2014
The 26th is coming and the family and I hope some of our Facebook friends with be gathering to celebrate the lives of two wonderful people. If you didn’t see the invitation earlier, Dan and Melanie didn’t want funerals, they wanted celebrations so that is what we will have. We’ll be expecting you about 2…and usually the grandchildren end late with a bonfire.
I have found that after some years of neglect, the house needs major repairs. I think the new risers in the basement, being put in now, should be up so no one need worry about falling thru the floor. The roof has been fixed so rain should not be a problem. The water tubing has been replaced, so we should get water we want to have. We will have a dry basement due to much work on the part of Bartlett Construction and Hank’s many helpers..
However, the inside, which badly needs repainting, won’t be repainted and some of the furniture I had planned on won’t be here nor will I yet have downstairs curtains. Also reminders that 10 large dogs and many puppies lived here will be visible..scratches on the doors, clear evidence on the floors where the dogs enjoy sleeping and, I think sharpening their claws, remain.
One good thing is that I can just tack up pictures of our absent Dan and Melanie any old place as eventually I will be painting! I was pretty upset about this but Martha fixed it. She gave me a bumber sticker “If All Else Fails, Lower Your Standards”..Good words for an old lady to live by .
If you can bring pot luck fine. I imagine we will have lots.
8:56 am on July 3rd, 2014
We are ready but won’t be able to check out the auction till after work. What is the closing deadline? There are always such good items, we can’t wait.
9:00 am on July 3rd, 2014
Will any of the Plunderers be attending the celebration? I am sure T & G’s folks will be there but anyone else going?
9:09 am on July 3rd, 2014
RIP Louis Zamperini. WWII hero and Olympian. Unbroken was written about his life story and a movie is coming out soon. He was 97.
9:25 am on July 3rd, 2014
I am glad that several of you got to meet mom in AK. She still talks about Ray helping her through the icy areas. She has been full time working on getting ready for her church garage sale, which opens today through Saturday. I am grateful that she has something to fill her time, with all her friends around. I am concerned how she will do after the sale and before the doc appt.
Oh, good morning y’all.

9:30 am on July 3rd, 2014
LOL and ROFL, Macy and her mom, you slay us 🙂
9:30 am on July 3rd, 2014
Hey FogHorn!
Off to the salt mines. 11 days of work in July. Good timing with car repair and new glasses. We will be able to pay for them! Have a great day everyone. Macy, special prayers for you today.
9:36 am on July 3rd, 2014
HOH: In preparation for the auction, we stole our Lady’s wallet. We are told this defeats the purpose. She says there are many wonderful items she would like to claim for her very own, but cannot. Turns out, we stole the wallet just for fun. We love it when that happens. Tastes like chicken.
Macy’s Maw: We consider ourselves blessed that you and many other Plunderers traveled north to Alaska. A highlight of our lives, to be sure. We hold each of youse dear.
9:37 am on July 3rd, 2014
Go Snowhook!
Good morning all.
9:40 am on July 3rd, 2014
Good morning! The opening of the auction should coincide perfectly with our repeat stormy weather this afternoon.
B&M, we saw that Louis Zamperini passed. RIP. What an extroadinary person he was.
Macy’s Mom, we love you and our ‘rents are so happy they met your mom way up north. They are very glad they detoured with her purse too, even though they didn’t get to see any moose. 🙂
9:40 am on July 3rd, 2014
Mr. Siber H, know it is still early for you, but hope you can get to a wallet or purse soon.
Our old neighbor is mowing and all we want to do is encourage him as we chase him and the mower down the fence…what fun! Why would someone want to put us in the house with all that excitement?
10:06 am on July 3rd, 2014
Greetings!
More hot, hot, hot weather here, with more rain and thunder expected. I hope there is enough room in the bathtub for me.
Snowhook Auction! Yay! Thieves, do youse know how many years you have been holdin this here auction? And what is wrong with more sparkles?
Stay kool!
10:19 am on July 3rd, 2014
Maybe some rain here. Fingers crossed.
Funny the little things you miss. I have never been able to get our ceramic cooktop completely clean. I could scrub and polish till the cows came home but it was never enough. Then Rick would take over and it was like new. I have scrubbed and polished and the cows never came home and it still needs work. The removable parts are in the dishwasher, so maybe I will take another run at it later. grump
11:02 am on July 3rd, 2014
Not to worry. The cows always come home.

11:05 am on July 3rd, 2014
Good morning all. Not broiling hot here yet, but it’s working its way up. (See Bee, your explanations worked!)
Looking forward to the auction – wish we had time to send in more. But Mama has had her hands full for so long, she just tends to blow deadlines on lots of stuff right now.
Callie wanted us to share this video with you. She says this is kind of what it is like to live with two Corgis and two Wrotten Kats.

11:15 am on July 3rd, 2014
Oh, Callie, at least they AREN’T goats.
Cows should not come home at rush hour!
11:40 am on July 3rd, 2014
Macy, at least it was a moo-ving trip.
11:41 am on July 3rd, 2014
OMK! That is Callie!she needs to wait until all the goats are on top of her, and then stand up, scattering those darn goats to smithereen.
11:51 am on July 3rd, 2014
Digger: We, er, borrowed your fancy roly poly chair for Rio at the Auction House. We want to apologize now for any sparkles that may or may not have been added by Belle Starr.
Golinka: We’ve never been good with deadlines. Getting away with things, that’s our strength. But, let us tell youse, we have a lot of amazing items including the items you donated.
12:10 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Thieves!…Get your Handler to check her SDD – and pronto!…wheeze!
12:27 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: Burp! Our Lady replied on her go-phone.
More to Rio: On a completely unrelated note, our Lady put about 20—is that more than two?—fire-putter-outers throughout the Auction House in case the newly acquired bid tracker gives you any trouble.
12:27 pm on July 3rd, 2014
T&G: Excellent use of its and it’s.
The Callie-like dog in the video is extremely patient. I kept thinking that I’d stand up and show those goats what they are dealing with.
12:31 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Macy’s Mom: Sorry to hear the unwelcome news. Your mom is independent-minded and a fighter so I’m praying they get her into treatment fast, fast, fast. I’m sending you some energy and strength to deal with this latest life threatening development. Glad I got to meet your mom. She wouldn’t let me assist her but Ray’s gallantry won out and she held his arm for balance across the uneven snow and ice. What a trooper she was at the Iditarod!
Zoe: We all know that your old homestead was set up to accommodate a dozen or more Newfs of various sizes and not the Queen. We come to offer you comfort, friendship and unconditional love. And to speak our gratitude for the many, many blessings your husband and daughter bestowed upon us. Oh snigglefritz! My eyes are getting blurry.
Tupper&Gilly: Wow! That is one laid back dog!
Auction countdown begins!
12:33 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Callie, thanks for the video of the purr-fect Great Pyr.
Back to the cows, do they stay in their own lane or do they get hoggish? (as in road hogs)
12:34 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Macy, Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
HOH, Not to worry. I have my mom’s credit card number memorized.
Is the rumor true that bacon is going to be auctioned off?
Zoe, Thanks for checking in with us.
12:46 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Bacon!…SiberH, there may or may not have been Bacon donated…burp!gurgle!
12:55 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Our Lady set up a refreshment table for volunteers, those who donated items, bidders and those who want to bid but invested in Hawaiian pants. What’s on the table?—Bacon and a lot of it! Luna is in charge of guarding it until the auction opens. Something about us not being trustworthy when it comes to our stomachs.

***Can Admin. correct the auction website address in his blog entry? It goes to the snowhook kennel site but not the auction site. There is no mention of the auction on the snowhook site***
Rio: excited I am. Lots of good stuff. Should I bid now or wait until the last day to see if there is anything left that I can afford?
1:22 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Somebody , please give me directions to the auction. Thanks. Zoe

CHobbit!…That should read, “My advice…” …gah!
1:41 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Oh my gosh – there is so much cool stuff that we want to get for Mama. We have to pool our treatie fund, and see if we can get the Wrotten Kats to kick in their catnip money.
Fat chance
1:51 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Off!….This Auction is off to a rollicking start!….Wheeeze!….I am gonna need more beer and wings…snort!
2:09 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Macy’s Mom–Stage 2 better than stage 4. I’m thinking and praying.
2:19 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio, more beer and hot wings it is…LOTS of fantastic stuff in the auction, sniff, sniff, sniff. Memories past and memories to be made !!!
2:25 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Hey! There is an item offered by someone using my name!!! Teddy Bear! I just learned last week from a Russian girl that my name means Teddy Bear, or Baby Bear. Did youse know that? My mom says it fits me. Whoah!
2:31 pm on July 3rd, 2014
About those cows: when they come home, it is NEVER rush hour. Heh heh! Pop used to call me and asked when I’d be home. I always answered “when the cows come home”, literally.
2:38 pm on July 3rd, 2014
MM: LOL love it 🙂
2:48 pm on July 3rd, 2014
The auction closes on Sunday, but the site says 3:00 EST. So if we are on daylight time, is that actually 4:00 our time? We are so confused.
2:59 pm on July 3rd, 2014
TeddyRuffRider as Pup and Mollypop’s “Bob” up top!
I’m late but I’m going to check out the auction site NOW.
3:16 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Hey Hot One….It will close at 3 your time. Daylight Savings Time has already been taken into account.
3:17 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Measka!…Consider all times posted at the Auction House in Daylight Savings Time…snort!
Bids!…Are rolling in and the good news is we have a lot of new faces in the bidding crowd!!…Woooo!
3:19 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Remember!….Always refresh the Auction Page and then check the bids under the “Comments” section of the item you want to bid on…wheeze!…This will help prevent me having to reject your bid because it is the same or lower than what is out there already…heh!heh!
3:19 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Thanks Siber and Rio. I want to be sure I’m there at the end.
3:45 pm on July 3rd, 2014
If my eyebrows were put up for auction, would someone let me know?
3:50 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Junior!…snort!
4:00 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Senior: Is that a yes, my eye brows are on the auction block and bidding is fast and furious? Well, I’ll be a pug’s son.
4:07 pm on July 3rd, 2014
There is no bacon up for auction. Rio and the Thieves ate all of it…gah
4:10 pm on July 3rd, 2014
SiberH!…There are some Slim Jims out there….sniff!…Oh wait, never mind…snort!
4:15 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Have seen 2 of these “guys” on screens here today. Any idea what they will grow up to be?

4:34 pm on July 3rd, 2014
SiberH: I set some bacon aside for you. Come see me when Rio and the Thieves aren’t looking.
4:35 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Ѕaved as a favorite, ӏ really like your website!
Feel free to surf to my page – modern furniture indianapolis (Gwendolyn)
4:54 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Luna, Thank You!
5:05 pm on July 3rd, 2014
SiberH: I’m not a psychic, but it wasn’t difficult to see what would happen with Rio and the Thieves in proximity to large amounts of bacon.
5:14 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Luna!…burp!…You might want to check that little hiding spot you thought you had for the bacon…heh!heh!
5:26 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: This isn’t my first rodeo. I set aside a lot of bacon. A majority of my hidey-holes are well above snout height. I intended you to find some of the bacon to keep your strength up while tracking all the bids.
7:01 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio – in between taking bids, you should be getting ready for your close-up.

7:22 pm on July 3rd, 2014
So far, Mom is winning the item she bid on. It’s still early, though.
Wose, when are calendar pictures due? Can mom send a picture of Gus as well as me?
7:29 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Calendar!….Yeeep!…I will never make that deadline…grunt!
7:33 pm on July 3rd, 2014
WooHoo, I just emailed my bids. Day one = 6 items.
Two days of sunshine so I painted my front porch but I don’t think I like the color but I guess I don’t hate it enough to change it.
7:36 pm on July 3rd, 2014
BooBear, The end date for pictures is July 13th. However, with all the excitement of the auction, I will accept photos until July 30th. Are you kidding? Of course your mom can send a picture of Gus!!
RIO! I would like to have a picture of you and Beau, por favor.
7:37 pm on July 3rd, 2014
I meant to tell you….I found out that a John Harris invented bacon (or rather invented the “large scale industrial bacon manufacturing.” So I have a genetic predilection to bacon on top of it just being plain old tasty.
7:49 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Bids!..The bid are still pouring in…wheeze!…I am over-whelmed at the response so far…snort!snort!
7:50 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rose!…I would like to be a millionaire, but not gonna happen…snuffle!
7:52 pm on July 3rd, 2014
I can say for sure that the Hobbit Hotel serves the best bacon for breakfast.
8:10 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Finally!
I’m home and hungry. After reading about hot wings, bacon and beer I’m starving and really thirsty.
I’m off to prepare dinner, get into my Hawaiian shirt (sadly, I don’t have the pants to match), find a credit card (anybody’s credit card will do)((BStover: Did I do the apostrophe right?)), and check out the auction. Didn’t I see a Paw and Order right there at the beginning?!!
8:58 pm on July 3rd, 2014
I give the bacon at the Hobbit Hotel a six out of five stars!
I’m having a Caesar salad with anchovies and waaay too much garlic. Delish!
9:00 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Dawson!….uuuhhhh….I think you were hallucinating. If we had Paw and Order on the Auction I would be doing somersaults and twirling at the same time…wheeze!
9:08 pm on July 3rd, 2014

you kats!
9:14 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Zoe!….I finally got to read Zoe’s post…snuffle!…If I can be there I will….snort!
9:25 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Slow-Down!…Okay, Auction Central has slowed way down so my friend says I have to take a break and go for a walk with her and ole Beau…grump!…burp!…So if you do place bids and you do not see your bids, do not become alarmed and call the fire department…heh!heh!…I shall return!
9:41 pm on July 3rd, 2014
So much good stuff on the auction block. Going to be hard to decided.
Dawson, It wasn’t Paw and Order, it was the short story, but printed out and signed. A one of a kind collector’s addition.
9:53 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Oh ho!
Barb and Maggie: I see that now.
I was in a huge hurry earlier and now I’m going through everything more carefully. I’m trying to figure out strategy for bidding because I won’t be around on Sunday. Aaargh!
Wow! A custom made quilt! Dog Bone cookie cutters, Alaska cookie cutters! A pancake warmer! Towels! Aprons! Scarfs! Pictures! Mr. Carrot! Tea! Moose! Bears! Double cuddle Cheeta! I haven’t made it to the second page yet.
10:03 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Macy – we love Simon’s Cats. Much more than our own Written Kats.
Rolling storms keep coming thru. We’re under the bed, we’re out. We’re under the bed, we’re out. Now we need to head back under the bed, so we think we will just call it a night.
G’ night all. See you at the auction tomorrow.
10:07 pm on July 3rd, 2014
WROTTEN Kats. Wrotten not, written.
Dam otters.
10:09 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Back!…We are finally BACK!…groan!wheeze!cough!…It is safe to bid again…heh!heh!
10:11 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: Is the new-to-us bid tracker giving you any problems?
10:13 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Tracker!…The new Big Ole Bid Tracker is running smooth as Beau’s snoring…snort!
10:32 pm on July 3rd, 2014
WoooHooo!…Bids are rolling in again! Everyone better be on their toes and watch their fave Items…snort! …We have the beginnings of bidding wars starting up…heh!heh!…Nothing makes me smile and burp like a good bidding war….chorkel!
10:33 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: This is good news. Our Lady was worrit because it started smoking and sputtering about 3 o’clock this morning. She gave it a very strong talking to that included words that we are sure would offend your delicate sensibilities. Whatever she said, it seems to be doing the trick. Snort! Sneeze! Swear!
10:42 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Thieves!… So can youse guys reach Luna’s hidey holes filled with bacon?…sniff!sniff!
10:45 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: Yes, every last hidey hole! Do you want to eat bacon or put on the water wings and do some cannon balls into the vat o’ beer?
10:48 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rio: Do you think we should remind the Plunderers who are not going to be around when the auction closes that they can appoint a proxy bidder? If they do appoint a proxy bidder, they need to let Auction Central know who their proxy is. Proxies should let AC know for whom they are bidding (Tail wag to B. Stover). Would this be a good idea to mention now, do you think?
10:58 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Bacon!…VS Water Wings?…sniff!…What do you think?…grunt!
Proxy!…Proxy bidders are very important if you will not be around to finish your bidding on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 EDT…snort!…You may want to be lining up your Proxy Bidder as early as NOW…heh!…Make sure Auction Central (mynewbid@gmail.com) knows who is the proxy and the proxy should be specific in their bid that they are bidding for “so-an-so”…sniff!…Just so no problems arise at the very end…grunt!
10:59 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Rules!…I really think we need to add the Proxy rules to the Auction Rules so everyone knows about this option…snuffle!
11:19 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Jumping in the vat ‘o beer to retrieve bacon thrown into the vat o’ beer! Problem solved!
11:31 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Or you could just bid so high right now that you are sure to get your item, heh!
Mom bought a nice new case for her iPaw today at the garage sale. Only problem, it comes with a keyboard, but the connecting cord is the size for the newer iPaws. Any ideas if there is a cord that would work out there. She only paid five dollas so it won’t be a big loss, but it is a very nice case.
11:43 pm on July 3rd, 2014
MacyMinPin: I loved the Simon cartoon(s). And Foghorn reaching the limit of his medication!
O’Howlers: Also loved the cows coming home.
Proxy, eh? Hmmm.
I’m glad there are new faces bidding. Also a Friend of Snowhook donated a pretty little jug (number 35). I am not allowed to bid on any glass items! Except…there are a few glass items I would love but…NO! No glass!
See you lot in the morning and G’day to LizF and Ruby from Down Under where the temperatures are cool and crisp.
11:45 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Dawson!…Why no Glass Items?…sniff!… Are you allergic to pretty glass things?…wheeze!
11:47 pm on July 3rd, 2014
I believe that Dawson has reached her personal limit on glass items.
11:51 pm on July 3rd, 2014
Limits!…Lets see, she has a lot of my friends Paper, no more Glass…sniff!…Does she like Scissors?…heh!
12:26 am on July 4th, 2014
Last-Call!…For bids!..snort!…We are going to beddie-bye very soon and would hate to miss some important bids…heh!sneeze!
12:31 am on July 4th, 2014
No rocks either. Too heavy to mail up here.
4:28 am on July 4th, 2014
We want to thanks youse for your support of the kennel.
4:31 am on July 4th, 2014
Oh, we want our slurpy, pug kiss, too or we are going to be in a very bad mood. We borrowed that line from Belle Starr. We stole it once, we are likely to do it again.
Nighty noodles.
