Snakes and the Nation Within (More)

Should we do more on poisonous snakes today? This came in from Loretta Sheridan yesterday (thanks, Loretta!). The black spots on Whiskey’s face are the bite marks. Any other thoughts on snakes? Or other animals who are dangerous to the nation within?
“My dog, Whiskey, was recently bitten by a copperhead. He came in from outside and went right into his crate. He does NOT hang out in his crate if he can help it, so I knew something was wrong. He was crying, and I saw two spots of blood on his muzzle. Went to the emergency right away where he was treated. He’s fine now, but I no longer let him run around in our fenced in back yard…The snakes are in overgrown areas of our yard. I won’t go in there. (We do sprinkle moth balls in there.)”

Like Chet, snakes are not my favorite thing. Turtleman Fred used to chase me with them when we were kids.

Thank dog Whiskey is all right.

    Joe!
I was thinking about you and those silky dachshunds just the other day. Hope you are well, too.

Poor Whiskey! Thank dog his mom was home and noticed his distress right away!

Mom has made an appointment for one of my brothers to see the cat doctor next week. He has developed a growth of some kind on the top of his head. It is the size of a 1/2 marble. This is the guy who had two growths removed from inside his mouth right before we moved. It took him 10 months to forgive Mom for
    1. Taking him to the vet for examination
    2. Taking him back to the vet for surgery
    3. Loading him up and driving him 5 hours in a carrier to a new home.
It seriously was 10 months before she was able to pet him again.

    This should be fun…..not!
