BooHoo!!! I really wanted the moose hat for Mom to wear in Alaska. I had the only bid for , like FOREVER, and then poof!! Gone, outbid!!
Who got Staff’s beautiful quilt? I also had the opening bid on it, but someone else won it.
Zoe, you will love the funky chickens! Even Dad thinks they are super cute (well, actually, he would never say “super cute”, but we know that is what he thinks.) We had actually thought of you and Melanie when we got the oversized Dog Love cups since you often mention cocoa. Wonder who won them?
I would love to have won the top item (#1) but it quickly got out of my treatie budget. What a cool prize SQ donated.

We won Golinka’s Sibers in Snow necklace AND, Throw Me a Bone necklace!!!!
Also, we won CHH’s Winter coffee cuff and cool Sibe earrings. And the Iditarod package, which Mom wanted mainly for the cute husky in harness (and the Lead dog bumper sticker).
Pop won the Mushellaneous package. He loves the hat!

BlueKat, doing some Key West dreaming here! Key West was a stop on our family vacations down to one of the Keys. Later I took the guys to Key West for a trip. Sure has changed. Probably more so now, I took them twenty years ago.

Last night there was the loud pop, pop, boom of gun fire or fireworks. Loud noises—never cared for them so I did the only sensible thing to do. I hid. My Lady couldn’t find me at first until she heard the shower curtain rustle and there I was. You may wonder why I didn’t stay with my Lady, but I wonder why she didn’t hide with me. Sometimes, I question her common sense. Common sense, any kind of sense dictates: loud noices + fear = hide in the shower or under the bed. Everyone knows that.

We here are all very talkative, and we sing more than we talk. We were quite popular at Barkwells for our evening songs as we were getting our party on. Now Dima…he is the most social, talkative guy you will meet. He tells everyone his life story as soon as he meets them. He is the most talkative in places like the waiting room at the v e t. Mom tries to tell him that people aren’t really that interested in his stories, but he is convonced they are. After all, he is rather famous in these parts.

DIL Jessica came over this afternoon to pick up Jackson, and she stayed and worked on our computer. She said when we tried to download a program or two to watch videos, we got a virus. She has everything working better now. Still slow, but all those pop ups have gone away and we were able to read emails, plus get on the bolg.

We are trying something new on the grill to go with a little steak. Threw together zucchini, onion, tomato, pepper, fresh mozzarella, drizzled with olive oil and baked in foil. Have no idea how this will turn out.

Busy busy day at the Veteran’s Administration with Dad. Then one last game of cards with the s-i-l and Turtleman (they lost) and finally I get to say that I won Staff’s quilt! I thought I lost it because I forgot the price I bid! It will be great – all those glow in the dark materials in the long dark winter.
I think I lost everything else I bid on because bad-timing-Dad got hungry just at the last minutes before the auction ended. Gah!
An excellent total for the auction. Congratulations to everyone, especially the lucky Joe Erickson!

Rio’s friend’s quillings are always such a good deal not just because of the artistic way she rolls that paper but because you also get enough packing material to wrap all your holiday presents.

Auction Central has sifted through the rubble of what remains of the auction house to uncover all the winning bids. All winning biiders have now been notified.
The explosion of the Bid-O-Matic 3000 yesterday did a lot more damage than originally thought. The structure is a total loss. The doors and the door frame are all that remain; they have been locked as a matter of habit.
Thank you to AC for all your hard work before, during and after the auction.

I have a lot of good memories of the Bid-O-Matic. I learned a lot lending a Wookie a paw trying to fix it. Wookie taught me so much and I enjoyed hearing about his early days as an agent in the field. Plus, I’ll never forget seeing Rio doing a cannonball off of it into his vat of beer. Oh, and the splash when Mac did the same! It also made a great paperweight.
