Signed and Paw-Printed Copies of The Sound and the Furry

For anyone interested in ordering signed and paw-printed copies of The Sound and the Furry, any of the bookstores on Spence’s tour would be happy to do that. The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, for example, or Vroman’s in Pasadena, RJ Julia in CT. A complete list is at Chet’s Facebook page – just click on Events. For those of you not on FB, we’ll post them here tomorrow or Monday.

What a cute picture! I am sure she is not obnoxious, Sammy. You just want all the attention, as any princess would.

Thank you for all the ordering information. Now just have to decide what to have written.

They are here planting our giagantic new tree. The ball weighs 600 pounds, and it took 3 guys to get it unloaded!

I missed seeing Mollypop’s mom when I worked in Ellicottville yesterday. Then I found out that she’s already made the move to Buffalo and has a new housemate, Loulou. I hope I get a chance to see them soon. Please come back for a visit soon.

Hey everyone – we missed most of the party due to the blurring to check out the beach, so our heads are just fine this morning.
Kat – you did look lovely last night at your first “grown-up” party. Glad you went for ruffles instead of sequins. Even so, you put the glitter in RJ’s eye.

Dawson – have a good trip home – sniff, sniff, we will miss having you in the states.

Um, Melanie – Roz took a wrong turn on her way home – The Wrotten Kats are just fascinated by the snoring black bear, but could you come get her out from under our table? Please?

Last night was a great night. Kat was so much fun to escort to the party. She didn’t seem to mind at all that I misplaced my eyebrows. She said she would like to help me look for them again. Then I have her a head bump. Kat went in side and I went back to Luna who waited for me with her back turned. As we walked down the Howler’s drive Luna have me a shoulder bump. Bi gave her one right back and then we blurred home. My first head bump—my stomach has been flipping and flopping ever since.

Speaking of home, the giant returned home from his summer job last night. My lady waited for him. She ran out there and they hugged for a long time. In the rain and the mud, they hugged. Maybe someday Kat and I will be like that.

Speaking of which YSAS and LLL will be moving into a new apartment. Together!

Speaking of fruit or the fruit that is known to us as a vegetable…the Tomatoes on one of our plants don’t seem to be ripening…not much Sun these past days. Someone else mentioned this problem too a while ago…Staff?

  29. Tupper and Gilly
    2:18 pm on September 7th, 2013

Bear – we had that problem last year. We found out that our garden needed to have some line put into the soil. This year we are getting ripe tomatoes. We still have LOTS of green ones too, but we have two or three ripe ones daily.

I’m on my way home! The nurses at the hospital tried to keep me. The doc said the plan was to tell the ‘rents that I ran away, and they would buy them a puppy to replace me. Not funny.
On the way home, we stopped to see a woman named Rita, and I had a custard. Very close to ice cream, and I am an ice cream kinda sir.

  34. Melanie
    3:01 pm on September 7th, 2013

Dima, you are right to stay with your rents.

Experiment two is in the oven. Kale chips. GLAD loves them.
YSAS used kale, basil, avacado and a bit of olive oil to make a pesto while they were here. Yum! This is the left over kale.

I have started the spaghetti sauce. Smells good. Blur over if you want some for dinner. I made lots.

If I finish the laundry and feed the dogs I will have only one more chore to do before I rest. Yippee!

Lucy Lou and Darah just got home from the Doggie Paddle and said they are ready to nap but we did get the poop on the paddle from them. A splash park with grass, an olympic size pool, a 1 ft. deep kiddy pool and a 2 ft-4ft wading pool. The place was crawling and jumping and barking with all sizes and shapes of the nation within. Rio, there must have been about 15 of your tribe. 3 Newfs. Lots of long legged spikey haired black dogs an akita and a malamute and a pair of BIG swimming sibers, oh, and lots of pit mixes. Lucy introduced herself to everybody and shook hands a lot! Darah went down stairs! She swims like a Newf, go figure. Now the Daddy Dawg and his girls are all napping.

    Glad T&G’s avatar came home.

    BearSpiritDog really does drool!

The chores for the day are done. Experiments are doing their thing. At this point the peaches are going to win. I’m not sure about those kale chips.

BSD, The tree doesn’t look that big now that it is in the ground. Will try to get a picture now and then another when it gets its beautiful fall color.

Jim and Judy are coming by tomorrow with Kelly to see how the new one gets along with me. They were going to name her Angel because of the way she came to them, but they said now the name may not be right. Yesterday she was very quiet and shy. She feels so good with a full belly and pain meds that she has turned into Crazy Dog! We want them to name her Gracie, but are you ready for this? I think it will be LuLu. But wait, we already have a LouLou!

Peaches look great. Not so sure about kale chips. Kale is good sauted or cooked like spinach.

We forgot what LLL means. I know one of those is for lawyer.

Love the house and the tree. Looks great.

Darah swimming! Took Franklin time to learn to swim. But, then again, it took him time to do anything that required coordination. The Guy was ALL legs.

I have gotten more done today than I have for a long time. Mostly because Zoë wasn’t adding to my lists.

Dinner was great. (Thanks for coming BearSpiritDog) I froze enough sauce for Zoe and I to have a meal later.

Peaches are great. The Kale Chips seem to be an acquired taste . . snicker

Tomorrow I am working with tools! Putting things back up that have fallen and taking part of a fence down.

    LLL = Leading Lady Lawyer.

Now to sit with my back on the heating pad. Listen to music and read.

You guys were partying heartily last night. I have finally caught up with all those posts. I am very happy that Rio had such a wonderful celebration to-do. It is too bad that it was ended so abruptly by the broom wielding one. chorkle

I hope he and his friend did not get too hot at the detective thingy. Sounds like fast fun.

My ‘maters are ripening nicely. I wonder if it is the red colored mulch that we put down. The only tomato plant that didn’t get ripe early was mulched with the red, but NOT in a raised bed. So it could be that too.

I went to bed at 9:30 last night and took a Benadryl and have had no sore throat today. I think I caught it in time.

It has been a cool, rainy day and he just called it a night. As he was taking off his muddy boots and coat before coming in, he reached in his pocket and pulled out an envelope. It was the check you sent for your auction item. It’s a bit soggy, but had a great run!

Natasha must be deep undercover to squat on someone else’s computer but it was nice hearing from her.

Barb: nice house and the 600-lb tree is perfect.

I am in North Pole for 1.5 days. There might be 2 people interested in my house and one lives out-of-state and wants a floor plan. Even though I told my realtor two places where to find my real estate folder, she was reluctant to search my house. So I drove 375 miles and found it exactly where I said it would be. Oh well, hope it is worth it. Everyone think pawsitive and keep those fingers and toes crossed. I left Sadie home and my sister is checking on her. I will drive back to Anchorage on Monday.

I came down with a cold/sore throat yesterday so I am having ice cream for dinner. Not on my diet but can you blame me since it hurts to swallow?

Snowbella, I thought you were already gone or I would have swung by but I guess it is all for the best as I don’t want you to catch my cold since you have a big week ahead.

    Good Morning Staff,

Thank you, looking forward to receiving my pillowcases.

My name is James Joseph Erickson, but have always been called by my middle name. This a compromise between my parents when they were trying to decide what to name me
