We of the HOH cannot comment without putting paw(s) in mouth(s).
We’ll just say, Gooood morning everyone! Safe day. Healthy day. Productive day. Loving day.
8:35 am on April 17th, 2013
Really? I mean, REALLY?
Greetings!
Everyone have a good day. It is my younger brother’s birthday today. Quite a few April babies around here, huh?
9:06 am on April 17th, 2013
Good morning all.
9:15 am on April 17th, 2013
Yikes!
Humans and their genetically engineered dogs gone awry.
HOH: We will have all of those days today.
Wose: Oh! Thanks for reminding me. It is my eldest son’s birthday today. I can send a card on time because of today’s technology but it is not tradition in this family. A late card is tradition.
9:39 am on April 17th, 2013
My Dear Niece Kat – I am so proud of you! Your career is off to a good start. Maybe Siber-H will take you on as an apprentice.
9:49 am on April 17th, 2013
They should have shown us the “after shot”. Poor Sesame, a product of over-breeding.
Bad day here, more and more rain, thunder and more rain. Flooding in the local lakes and rivers. Heard Barb say that her sump pump is malfunctioning. Josh came over last night and fiddled with it, then announced that he needs to pull it tonight and install a new one. Meantime, Barb wil be going down and plugging and unplugging it. It does not shut off on its own.
10:11 am on April 17th, 2013
Dawson, my tradition lately has been sending the same birthday card to the same person 2 years in a row.
Kat, your civil engineering skills are excellent. If you become Siber-H’s apprentice, you will become a master like he is.
10:12 am on April 17th, 2013
Good morning all
Based on your comments so far, we are going to chose to not click on the link and see what the Sesame story is. We already know that some humans are too stupid to own a toadstool, never mind a dog!
Storyteller called this morning. Had his first PT session. But he loves the rehab place so far. And had a list of ALL the things he wants brought to him this afternoon. To paraphrase the famous line in the movie “Jaws” – we’re gonna need a bigger suitcase…
10:14 am on April 17th, 2013
China!…All those guys from China should go back there where they came from…grunt!…oh wait…sniff!
10:18 am on April 17th, 2013
Yea, Rio, you better re-tink that comment. Snicker
Off to PT. Dodging rain drops!
10:59 am on April 17th, 2013
Just saw Newf commercial. Think the baby might be a “crock of spaniel”. Even the white spots are different. Mom just came home from v e t with Darah (newf) and Pookey. D. got another round of puppy shots & a cookie. Pookey had staples removed. She had to lose leg 2 weeks ago as broken leg wouldn’t heal, rejected bone, and was getting infeted. Today, jumped in car, “ran” around with dr’s 2 labs & got a cookie. We of the nation within are amazing.
T&G’s Mama: You will probably need two men and a truck to get the Storyteller’s possessions home.
11:12 am on April 17th, 2013
Sharon!…All your hounds sound like they are on their last-legs…snort!
11:14 am on April 17th, 2013
Some people think that the more wrinkles, the cuter the dog is.
We know one of those people and we question their sanity. I have to say this…that person is a vet tech.
Rio, Let me know if you get the Toyota talk thing figured out on Root tv. That would be fun.
The Rockies got it together last night! Pacheco’s picture was in my morning newspaper. WOO WOO
My computer and internet are working this morning so it must have been “them” last night.
HOH, Glad Pookey is doing so well. She will be fine.
11:18 am on April 17th, 2013
Awww Pookey, sorry to hear about your leg, but it sounds like you are hanging in there. Good job.
We love the Newf commercial. I like the way the breeder looks at the new parents and at the adult dog. “Yep that is what you are in store for”.
11:25 am on April 17th, 2013
Rio: At least we have a leg to stand on!
11:31 am on April 17th, 2013
Poor Pup. That’s what you get with dumb breeding.
I HAVEN”T SEEN THE COMMERCIAL! Of course, we rarely watch TV, but I did try to find it on the internet.
I have been a momager this morning. I will be a momager in another minute or two.
YSAS had a great time at this classes yesterday. Now he has to prepare for more classes Friday and Saturday.
11:42 am on April 17th, 2013
SiberH!…I do believe I successfully created a login…snort!…Now I can ask Drew and George stoopid questions…heh!heh!…My login name had to be more than 3 characters and not more than 10, so I chose “rio_n_beau”…grunt!…So if you see that name flash by you will know it is me…chorkel!
11:45 am on April 17th, 2013
Rio, Good Work!
11:46 am on April 17th, 2013
Good morning.
It is, isn’t it.
11:50 am on April 17th, 2013
Root!…They said there was a 24 hour delay before I can start posting messages…sniff!…I guess they have to check my credentials …grump!
12:02 pm on April 17th, 2013
Maskers!…Were you up all night jammin’ with your jazz pals?…snort!
12:13 pm on April 17th, 2013
I hope Root tv doesn’t learn that it is two pugs wanting to comment. I think the fact I am a Siber kept me from winning the Number One fan from NM last year.
12:17 pm on April 17th, 2013
Poor Pookey. We are glad she seems to be adjusting so well, though.
We are also glad the surgery on Sesame was a success.
So far, this week is going as bad as the weekend did for us. Everything is stacking on. Mom hates her work, mostly because of one person she has to deal with, who likes to think he is the professor, and she is an intern. Grrr. Yesterday, she learned that she is not getting the job she posted for. Also yesterday, there were many layoffs at Pop’s place, and his retirement plan is being changed. Today, he learned that his oncall rotation will be every 4 weeks instead of every 6 weeks. We already had to change all of our vacation plans to accomodate the previous oncall schedule. Plus, he learned that now he and one other guy have to handle all the network issues. Everyone else gets to do “projects”. Mom is wishing she could just move somewhere.
12:19 pm on April 17th, 2013
Riö: Yes, late night gig which is unusual for so early in the week.
Fortunately it was in New York so Rose, the Prof & I were able to see the Yankees vs the Red Sox.
Or, was that a dream?
12:51 pm on April 17th, 2013
HOH – Poor Pookey – but we are very glad that she is adjusting well, and we are glad she has the most perfect forever home that will love her not matter how many legs she has to stand on.
Howlers – ouch! Wish we could snap our paws and make it all better.
Melanie and Mama have a plan for the future – they are going to win the lottery and buy a big compound somewhere near some water. They will each have their own house, and there will be a big fence so puppies can run free. Sounds like we need to start looking for an even bigger place with even more houses so it can be a Plunderpound Refuge for refugees of bony fingered, professorial, and otherwise irritating stupervisors.
12:57 pm on April 17th, 2013
Stuper-visors…snort!heh!snort!…A Refuge sounds good. It has to be in a sunny mild climate…sniff!…No ice allowed.
1:08 pm on April 17th, 2013
T&G and Rio have our vote!
1:12 pm on April 17th, 2013
Rio and HOH – we are thinking maybe Hawaii? 70 – 80 degrees, year round.
1:15 pm on April 17th, 2013
O’Howlers: We are so sorry to hear things are messed up at your mom and pop’s busy places.
The ideal solution would be a work-from-home-every-day job.
Sharon’s Herd: The nation within could give the 2-leggeds some pointers for sure.
The canine facelift surgery Chet refers to up top perhaps was Not of the Cosmetic variety. Wasn’t the poor guy’s vision impaired because of all his wrinkles?
It also means the Insurance will have Paid for it.
Right, Barb & Magpie?
Siber-H: The Grand Canyon! Who knew it was you. Very Impressive Work.
And now your apprentice Kat following in your paw prints.
She’s a natural.
Liz posted last night!
Missed her Again. So…G’night, Liz & Cricket, hope all is well.
C.Hobbit: Don’t forget to let us know how youse are doing in The City That Never Sleeps (or is that NYC?)
Royals: A PlunderPound Refuge? Sounds like a plan. Dog knows we could use a Sanctuary from the world now and again.
1:18 pm on April 17th, 2013
Wow, bad week for several of youse out there. Pookey has a lot of spirit. Good girl!
Oleys, not fair!
HOH, we thought it could be a spaniel too, but it has a long tail. Hair might be a little long for a lab puppy. We thought it was a cute ad too, except we don’t like flaws like that. But then again probably 99 out of 100 people would not even notice.
1:23 pm on April 17th, 2013
Blizzard!…My friend sent word that there is a blizzard going on at the busy-place…sniff!…Inside and outside…grump!
1:34 pm on April 17th, 2013
A plunderpound refuge sounds wonderful. Meantime, Mom has been farm real-estate shopping in PEI.
1:52 pm on April 17th, 2013
Breaking news: An arrest has been made in Boston. News conference at 5:000 ET.
1:52 pm on April 17th, 2013
PEI has w i n t e r!!! PP Refuge is aok by us, nice vacation. And good to hear from BSD.
2:32 pm on April 17th, 2013
Just heard that there is conflicting information on that arrest. Probably do not have anyone in custody.
2:33 pm on April 17th, 2013
B&M: Arrest in Boston…CNN says yes…CBS says no.
2:38 pm on April 17th, 2013
Yes, HOH. PEI does have winter. But it also has the warmest waters north of the Carolinas. And beautiful scenery (not that we have seen it). And less 2-leggeds, which Mom likes for some reason. For some reason PEI sounds like shangri la to our mom.
Good news on the arrest. We hope this is not too much of a rush like what happened when they wrongly accused that security guard at the Atlanta Olympics.
2:42 pm on April 17th, 2013
CNN and AP have retracted their report. There has been no arrest, and there are several people being investigated.
2:53 pm on April 17th, 2013
PEI!…Never heard of it before….snort!
2:55 pm on April 17th, 2013
Rio, Prince Edward Island, near Newfoundland, in Canada.
3:08 pm on April 17th, 2013
Rio has obviouslu never read any L.M. Montgomery “Anne” books.
3:48 pm on April 17th, 2013
I worked through the night to rebuild this wall. Siber-H says this is not the way hiscompany operates. 🙁

3:52 pm on April 17th, 2013
Forgot to say…..Wose’s brother and Dawson’s son…Happy Birthday to each one.
3:55 pm on April 17th, 2013
Kat: Siber may not be pleased with the update to your construction project but others in your near vicinity will.
4:09 pm on April 17th, 2013
Sharon!…Do you mean the “Anne of Greenback Gamboling” books?…snort!
4:20 pm on April 17th, 2013
Sharon, I had a three legged cat once. Her name was Sparkles. She was diagnosed with cancer of the paw. I found it when we were playing “I can touch your paw” one day. She got along wonderfully as a 3 legged kat although people would often say she was a one-legged cat. She had no idea she was disabled so when people felt sorry for her I would tell them “Hey, she has one more leg than you do.” She lived for about 6 years with three legs. Even though it was one of her back legs she could still stand way up tall to beg for food.
She is the reason I name all my kats with people names. She had Thyroid disease and I had to get her medicine at the people medicine place. When they called out “Sparkles Drew your pills are ready”, I would slink up and try to hide the fact that I was Sparkles. Sounded like a stripper to me and I was young and easily embarrassed.
4:24 pm on April 17th, 2013
Gah! There is a hobbit on the loose in Sin City! Checked in and ready to walk the strip. First up: find a show store and buy some shows I can walk in. Then find a nice store and buy an evening blouse since I left mine at home and only have half an outfit to wear tonight for my first event
4:26 pm on April 17th, 2013
OleyHowlers: why do we have to keep learning that life is not fair? I am sure all of us have that lesson down solid
4:31 pm on April 17th, 2013
Tip I was told on check in at the hotel: if I open the refrigerator in my room to put my stuff in, I will be charged. It is a mini bar and it doesn’t matter if I don’t consume any of their stuff. So I am eating up some of my provisions (cut up veggies mostly). Phooey. I brought enough to munch on for 4 days and they will go bad if not refrigerated.
4:35 pm on April 17th, 2013
Gamboling!…Speak of the devil!…snort!…CHobbit Harris is on the loose in Las Vegas!…..WOOOOOOOOO!
4:51 pm on April 17th, 2013
C.Hobbit: Convenience store, cheap (sorry) styrofoam cooler & ice. Problemo solved. Enjoy shows and buffets! Oldest step-son was married in Vegas 20 yrs ago. Not elope, expected us all to come:( His bride wasn’t 21 yet so she couldn’t “gambol”.
Staff: TY 🙂 Know the Pookster will do fine. She can already jump onto our bed and have found her backing down off it!
5:02 pm on April 17th, 2013
Kat, I see you still have a lot to learn. The first rule of Siber construction is: NEVER RETURN ANY PROJECT TO ITS ORIGINAL FORM.
gah
5:08 pm on April 17th, 2013
If Sesame were a 2 legged his eye surgery would be covered. Most 4 leggeds don’t have medical insurance, however. If one is having their upper lids fixed due to said lids affecting their sight, then insurance companys consider it a medical procedure and not cosmetic. Typically if a woman is having “her eyes done” she will have to pay for the lowers. Does that answer your question, BSD?
6:37 pm on April 17th, 2013
RIO! Game postponed in your neck-of-the -woods.
6:39 pm on April 17th, 2013
T&G: So very happy to hear the Storyteller is starting to feel better. WoooooHoooo!
6:42 pm on April 17th, 2013
Not a good day for me. The quilt has been tucked tightly around me.
Belle Starr: What’s this I hear? A new pink coat for you? Do tell!
I also think I misread something on your two-legged’s SDD about mail. I feel very confused. : (
6:46 pm on April 17th, 2013
Those who can watch World News with Brian Williams. They will have a story of comfort dogs sent to Boston. Wookie would be proud.
7:22 pm on April 17th, 2013
ALL dogs are comfort dogs. Some just comfort with different rules 🙂
7:24 pm on April 17th, 2013
Bad news, so-so news and good news. Hmmm, do you think if we all had good news at one time that the server would melt?
I have been very busy today. Mostly at the computer doing Momager things. YSAS now has 50 postcards coming his way. The casting directors and agents like to get them once a month.
I went for a looonnnnggg walk. It was not a brutal walk. I don’t go that fast. I saw two of my neighbors. One is moving in two weeks so she was out getting her lawn in order. The other was working on his garden. Going to be beautiful.
Rest time.
7:34 pm on April 17th, 2013
Wose: First, head bumps. Second, pink! I wish. My two-legged thought she was being clever when she bought me a dog jacket on the clearance rack whilst looking for team jackets. I won’t sit still long enough for her to take a photo of me in the non-pink jacket. Third, I am sending you something in the mail! It is a thumb drive of photos and video of you and Griz driving dog teams! Yeep!
7:37 pm on April 17th, 2013
Rose: HOH is soooo glad to see you again, because it must mean you’re feeling more like a 2-legger!
7:48 pm on April 17th, 2013
Blizzard!…gasp!…My friend had to drive through a blizzard to get home tonight…sniffle!…She has had it with almost everything right now…grump!…Now that she is off the highway it is starting to clear…gurgle!…It has been snowing ice here since early Monday morning…sniff!…When will it end?
7:54 pm on April 17th, 2013
Wose: Your Yankees are a class act for playing the Red Sox song, Sweet Caroline.
CHobbitt: Win a fortune!
HOH: Pookie is one tough cookie!
OleyHowlers: Moving to Canada! May I visit?
8:03 pm on April 17th, 2013
Dawson!…Isn’t Prince Edward Isle on the other side of Canada?…sniff!…Not like you could stop by for cawfee and cookies…snort!…COOKIES!
8:16 pm on April 17th, 2013
Belle Starr: I love getting mail from you. I’ m very excited!
What, no pink jacket! The horror!
Griz will be sending something to you, and Jodi ( the person, not the puppy)
Tummies to you!
8:18 pm on April 17th, 2013
Dawson: The Yankees have always gotten a bad rap. They are a class act.
Thanks, HOH. I am still not quite myself. I’m just peeking out from the quilt every once and a while.
8:42 pm on April 17th, 2013
Wose – i agree with you on our dear team the Yankees being such a class act that was so good yesterday. Also the Buffalo Sibers are playing the Boston Bruins tonight that’s interesting also in many ways.
American Idol is on and my favorite Cree just sang. She is amazing.
8:47 pm on April 17th, 2013
We have been asked to deliver a message to youse guys:
I see the beauty of Creator’s world in flowers, and your gift is not only beautiful, but is a real life line for me.
I see the sun in the yellow flowers, and the evening sky in the pinks and purples.
I see the blue of the water and the summer sky, and the greens remind me of the forest where I had a tree house as a child.
The reds remind me that we are all of the same blood, and the whites remind me of the goodness that is in people.
I am humbled by your gift, and extremely honored that you would do this for me. I am also thankful for all the support you give Amalia, as this has been hard on her.
Thank you so much for all you do.
The Storyteller

That is a lovely message from Leonard. Thank You.
The Storyteller looks great!!
9:12 pm on April 17th, 2013
Beautiful flowers!! Big, bold blooms for a guy that is bigger than life. Thank you, Leonard, for all your wise and comforting words when each of us need them most. Hope your stay at rehab is short and sweet.

Leonard looks great and the flowers are beautiful.
We are saying good night all.
9:21 pm on April 17th, 2013
My two-legged says the Storyteller looks years younger. It is amazing what not living in pain will do for a body.
9:25 pm on April 17th, 2013
Wonderful soul surrounded by wonderful flowers.
Leonard, you in our lives and sharing Amalia with us is truely great.
(I wonder if that’s the first time he’s gotten flowers.) ducking while snickering . .
9:28 pm on April 17th, 2013
Gotta tell you this one – the nurse came around this evening about 6 pm to ask Leonard how he was feeling. Now, keep in mind that he has had an hour and a half of PT, has been dragged through miles of hospital corridors for ultrasound and x-rays, has been in and out of his room, his wheelchair and his walker, but not his bed since 11 am.
Leonard admitted to being tired and in some pain – the nurse looked up his meds to see if he could have any pain pills and found out that he HADN’T TAKEN ANY ALL DAY!
He had a Tylenol this morning for a headache, but his back has not given him any discomfort until just now. Oh My Dawg! After 4 years of constant pain….one week after surgery, and he has FORGOTTEN that his back hurt.
We are falling down on our knees in thanks to the Creator! This truly is miraculous.
9:29 pm on April 17th, 2013
Did someone say duck? I heard it tastes like chicken, but is like to know for myself.
9:30 pm on April 17th, 2013

Sleep that knits up the ravelled bodies of both the two and four legged.
The end of each day, sore labour’s bath
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast. *

Such wonderful news about the Storyteller!
I bet our resident Hobbit is taking Vegas by storm!
10:00 pm on April 17th, 2013
T&G’S Mama: TY for the news on the Storyteller. We love good news but the picture WAS worth a thousand words. He looks great. Keep up the good work. Rose, you will soon be “right as rain”, in someone’s words.
In the meantime, nighty night.
10:12 pm on April 17th, 2013

10:54 pm on April 17th, 2013
Rio: Junior wishes your friend happy birthday on Monday. He was beside himself to make sure he didn’t forget. Have you ever been beside yourself? It sounds uncomfortable to me. Junior and my Lady had some play time yesterday evening. He couldn’t get enough of hugging her.
11:00 pm on April 17th, 2013
Junior!…I was indeed beside myself on Monday what with all that went wrong to mess up our big day we had planned …sniff!…But I do vividly remember your birthday wishes to me and my friend and I thought that it was amazing to hear from you very first that day…snorkel!…It did my pug heart good boy! You are such a good boy…grunt!…Dawg knows where you get it. Not from my side of the family…gruffle!

Does the evil pug gene skip a generation?
11:03 pm on April 17th, 2013
Our busy place had a dinner out together tonight. Dawson had to stay home with the Dad. We had a good time with all the people I didn’t work with all year. sniff. Someone gave Mr.Staff two cinnamon buns. It seems every day about 10:30 there would be a rustling and a crinkling sound from his desk as he got out his doughnut with the multicolored sprinkles and had what the Norwegians in North Dakota call ‘lunch.’

11:09 pm on April 17th, 2013
Sprinkles!….Oh mydawg that looks good…sniff!sniff!…I don’t usually go for sprinkles, but that is something to behold…wuffle!…Mr. Staff is not retiring or anything like that, is he??…snort!
11:13 pm on April 17th, 2013
And here is a picture the neighbor took of his yard on Monday. More snow is expected tonight….

We are not going back for 2 weeks. I wonder if it will have melted by then?
11:14 pm on April 17th, 2013
Hey Rio,
No, he retired from farming but this job is the kind of job you get after you retire. Mr.Staff just got it for something to do in the winter time to justify moving to a city each fall. Heh
A mere 38 years ago.

OMD, there has been a huge fertilizer plant explosion and fire about an hour south of here. They are saying upwards of 60 people dead and hundreds injured. There was a nursing home destroyed. So tragic.
11:50 pm on April 17th, 2013
Macy: That is awful.
Creator, please bless and keep their spirits. Pleas comfort those impacted by this tragedy. Please provide calm and comfort where and how it is needed. Amen.
11:51 pm on April 17th, 2013
A lady on the news just said that the concussion from the blast killed all of her animals. The news just keeps getting worse.
6:51 am on April 18th, 2013
Macy, thinking about you and yours. Stay safe.
What a wonderful picture of Leonard. the flowers are stunning, and Leonard looks like a young man again ! Hugs to you ( not too tight, though, I don’t want to hurt your back), and much love to Amalia.
