We posted at the end of last night’s blog, apparently at the same time as Admin was posting for today. So here isa repeat (ha! Repeats make sense today).
Oh my. We went to bed happily dreaming about the possibility of obtaining a Chet-and-Whitey-Lance forever patch. And we wake up to find 4 new puppies, and the A-Team going without our giant. Gah! What is up with that? We don’t like it. And who is this other musher and how do we follow that there race?

Hey! Mom just told us that she has received another offer of a matching fund for Louisa Mae!!! The very next $20 will be matched matched matched!!! Sort of goes in line with the whole Groundhog Theme of the day!

Hey Chet, I have a request for the Mike B. Is there any way he would consider changing the color of the links on this page. Some of us have a lot of trouble seeing the dark blue color of the links by the avatar (for those who have links) and also for the links inside our messages. Well, I actually have a picture of one of the Pack in the bottom of the refrigerator. Unfortunately, I have over 8,000 photos to scroll through and today I must be seeing 1 out of every 4. Didn’t find it.
I love Carpola. I also like Snigelfritz. I use both in polite society and the dogs don’t care at all.

Mom was on this long crisis conference call most of the day. The Reds got tired of it and began a Howl Fest to cheer her up, right in the middle of her conference call. She hit mute as fast as she could and said “Not Now”. Then she laughed her head off! We think Siber-H’s mom probably agrees with our mom’s #1 rule for living with huskies: gotta have a sense of humor!

Dawson, Melanie posted yesterday that Zoe is coming home for sure today. We think the time was 2:00, so she must be on her way.
Shiek is having a bad day today. He went off his feed again and Mom gave him bantomine. Then she got the bad call from work and has to be busy on that. When it rains it pours. Whats up with that?
We also just received a call that our very good friend died over night. She was old…~96 ! We love her and will miss her, but she will now be at peace. And she never had to move out of her home which would have been the worst thing that could happen to Esther. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Snowhook Kennel will be paying close attention to bib #14 in the Tustumena 200 race that starts today at noon. Why? Oh, only because Philip Walters is running fourtheen Snowhook dogs in the race.
Ever over protective the dogs, AJ assures Rebecca he gave Philip the appropriate if-something-happens-to-the-dogs-you-have-to-answer-to-Rebecca talk. Truth be told, we both have great confidence in Philip’s care for the dogs; he works with the kennel of Alan Peck and Barbara Trost, two mushers who AJ and Rebecca respect for how they care for the dogs.

The team is off and running. AJ said it was difficult to see them leave the starting line.
I have some ideas rolling around in my head for possible names, but until then they all get the default names of any puppy: Poopsie McPoopsalot or Poopsie McPoopsiepants. The latter name can be confusing, because those of you know have dogs, know they don’t wear pants.
BSD: Pugs and pups! Both are on my mind. I was allowed into the pupternity ward this morning and I can confirm three girls and one boy. Junior suggested each be named Rio Junior Jr.

G&BB: This is a very busy work wee for AJ, and as a result hasn’t been able to train. He also wouldn’t have been able to compete in this race because of work. In fact, as soon as he leaves the starting line, he is driving to Anchorage for meetings and won’t be home until late, late tonight because of a work function/banquet. I was supposed to go to the dinner tonight, but my cold finally caught up to me in the middle of the night. Having the team run by another musher that we trust allows the team to get more miles on them, and helps the musher get his qualifying races. We wouldn’t trust the dogs to just anyone, let me tell youse. The team won’t run for Phillip like they will for AJ, but he should still have a good run.

Lucia, Hi, I am emailing you from the rehab. They brought in a really old computer for me, and I can’t seem to be able to post on the blog. Can you report for me that I am alive and well. Feeling good, and if I work hard, they may let me out Friday. Worst is behind me, I think. Please thank everyone for me for the good thoughts, prayers and the beautiful flowers. They were in a cup with a chicken on it. Saying was “Get Well eat veggie soup”. I will be taking that home with me and will think of youse guys every time I have a cup of coffee. We got things squared away with the truck problems. AJ is going to have it towed to Mick and Jodi’s house; he found a reasonable rate on a tow truck–I just hope they aren’t trying to pull a fast one on him. Jodi has offered him the use of one of their vehicles to get to his the work function tonight. I don’t have to drive anywhere and can get some rest after I do dog chores.
Barb! We heard from Chicken Lady Barb! It sounds like she is doing quite well.
Wolfie: I think W.L. was going to blur on over to you so you could blur with the team. They believe they’ve tracked Rio to a nice camping spot in the mountains. I think they’ll keep him company and camp for the night.
