Saturday Morning Coffee
Maybe because we’ve been socked in on Cape Cod by the remnants of Jose – while the rest of the country is nice and sunny – but I woke up this morning thinking of the desert. The Sonoran desert, specifically. I fell in love with Arizona during the writing of THEIR WILDEST DREAMS. I think it’s the first book where I broadened some of the humor a little bit – so in two ways at least it’s a precursor to Chet and Bernie. No canine narrator in THEIR WILDEST DREAMS. The POV is multiple third-person close, which can sometimes be pretty hackish, but I think not in this case. In desperate financial straits, Mackie, the main character and a former dancer, tries working in a strip club. I got an email from a stripper telling me the thoughts in Mackie’s head while performing were just like hers. A stroke of luck. How could I ever have researched something like that? (Don’t even go there.)

Stripper!…snort!…I sure wish SiberH was here to read that interesting fact about “Their Wildest Dreams”…heh!…He and I both loved this book and laughed out loud during quite a bit of it. Highly recommended for those of youse who have not read it yet….chuffle!

Reminds me, when Kelly was in college she worked for a while at an upscale bar/restaurant. One night she worked a private bachelor party, and there were some gals (privately hired) there that were mostly nude. The father of the groom offered Kelly $1,000.00 if she would disrobe and continue to serve that way. She refused. Guess I raised her right!

We are enjoying the PA/SQ “old’ fotos. Love that the four children are scattered to the four parts of the country 😊. We think it helps get him to many parts of the country.

Dawson, so sorry you are still in pain. Hope you feel better soon. At the local drug store you might find “Salon Pas” or “Icy Hot” with 4%. Lidocaine. This could really help with temporary OUCH. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Well, the recent visit by Harvey may have done me a favor. I noticed last weekend that I had a water leak in one of my hall baths. I called a roofer thinking the recent storm knocked something out of line like the flashing. He came today, took a couple of steps up on the roof and said I had major hail damage, probably from a hail storm in May. Told me to call my insurance company. If Harvey hadn’t dumped all that rain on us, I may not have noticed or found out about the roof until I was ready to sell. I’ll see what the insurance company has to say.
