If I were Bernie, I would find an old cigarette under the car seat, not loose change. Chet is very non-judgmental when Bernie smokes, and actually seems to enjoy the second hand smoke.

Howlers, have been reading about the tibia plateau fracture on line. The article said they are classified as Type I thru Type VI. Let us know which one you have after your doctor visit. Wishing you the best today.

Good morning! Mom finished Pressure Drop last night. She kept us all awake until she did, because it was so egg-citing she just couldn’t put it down. Thanks, PA!

BM&L, if it is a lower type, is that good news? Mom has been working on her attitude ala HOH and Wolfie. She is trying to stay positive for her appointment this afternoon. Meantime, she had to crutch to work so she could return the oncall pager and laptop for the next victim. We were all awoken again this morning at 1:30 by that damn thing, and she had to crutch it to her office once again. Grrr

Good morning fellow early birds and all to come. OH, glad to hear that your mom will be getting rid of that nasty alarm clock. Sounds like she is getting good with the crutches.

We slept until 6:30 today, still earlier than mom prefers but better than 5:30. Mom has become obsessed with sleeping until 7:30, but it does not seem to be in the cards. However, she has not gotten out of bed, so it is time for me to start my wake up barks.

Howlers, Hard to say since I am not a doctor, but it seems like the higher numbers were more extensive injuries. 20% are in the last category. Some types involve soft tissue damage and some do not.

Good morning all. The wind is blowing up here, and for some reason, that greatly affects the internet.

We are headed off for a day of fun, lobster and outlets in Maine. Riding up the coast to watch the sun dancing on the whitecaps.

Have a wonderful day and we will be back tonight.

Macy’s Mom, There is no reason to be upset if you are not sleeping till 7:30. This morning I got up at 5:00 after falling asleep at 9:00 last night. Unless you have a schedule that requires you to keep regular hours, just go with it.

Would love to be riding in the back seat with The Honeymooners.

  12. dawson

Masquers: I highly recommend a bike. Except that, at this time of year there is always an excuse not to ride. Too cold, too windy, it might rain, it might snow, and on and on until it gets dark and there is another excuse.

I’m packing for a down-one-day back-the-next medical appointment at the town south of us. It is not for me, but for my friend. We leave tomorrow.

Hi Bluecat! Phooey, I don’t have a Kindle. I have a Nook. I will check and see what the price is there.

Macy’s Mom: is your mother’s house for sale now? How is it going?

Howlers: I’ll be waiting with baity breath to hear from you this afternoon.

Sadie’s water dish had a layer of ice on it this morning! Both Sadie and Mr. Big decided to sleep outside last night which is ok with me as that means I can stretch out in bed. Although I did miss the snuggles in the morning. Mr. Big came in the house when I got up with a bit of straw on him so that means he slept in the dog house.

I’m really enjoying the Wordsworth course on Future Learn. Much of it is on video and, since I’ve never visited the Lake District in England, it’s fascinating to see the places where he wrote the poems. Some of the poems are also read in dialect and that’s fun.

Hey! We bought Pressure Drop on our Kindle last Wednesday. It was $6.15, dagnabbit!

Mom has arrived home from her ortho doc visit. He told her that he was much relieved when he saw the fracture, because that is the best of all the possibilities! He said bone heals fast and well, and cartilage and ligaments do not. Mom’s fracture is tiny; just 1 millimeter (.04 inches for us non-Canadian types).

He told her to stop taking Aleve because anti-inflammatories mask pain as well as slow healing of bone. Mom must continue not putting any weight on that knee, so she must stay on crutches for possiby another 5 or 6 weeks, although she has her next apointment in 3 weeks. Depending how things look then, she could possibly be back to walking sooner.

    4:59 pm on September 21st, 2015

Howlers, that is EXCELLENT news. Does he think you will be able to resume normal activities by 6 weeks? And did you tell him what your normal activities consist of?

It was just announced that every man, woman and child in Alaska will be getting $2,072 from the Permanent Fund. I usually give half to charity and then do something practical like buy new tires with the other half.
