And in publishing news, the paperback of PAW AND ORDER comes out tomorrow. “Makes a good springtime gift!” says Admin. “What’s a springtime gift?” says Spence.

And also tomorrow: WOOF.

Good morning, everyone! It is a shame those treats may be comtaminated but the recall is the responsible thing to do.
Monday, Monday can it be trusted?

I’m wondering what a springtime gift is also.

Haven’t thought about the Mamas and the Papas for a long but I always liked that song.

Good morning all. Warming trend here too, with lots of sunshine. Only upper 50s today but a glorious 70 by Friday.

We are giving Woof for a springtime gift next week.

Off to buy a few flowers.

Good Morning All–I, too, am having a weird Monday–drove into work and arrived with a cramp in one hip, but at least I know I can get here at 8 if I need to.
Weather is lovely here (although, as you are all undoubtedly tired of hearing, some rain would be nice), I left mt four-legged family resting comfortably, and as soon as I decide which kind of wisdom and knowledge to start with today, I’ll be off and running.
after an odd start, I decide to trust this Monday.

    Hello everyone!
We are hoping that our springtime gift is some warmer weather.
AND a bug-free blog. We couldn’t get here at all in the later part of the day yesterday.
We have found a very interesting TV show – it is called “America Unearthed” and it is an anthropological look at some aspects of this country’s history. The host is a forensic geologist.
Much better than watching some of the junk carp on tv these days.

Well, I’m putting the house up for sale. Two realtors tomorrow and one on Thursday and we will see what we have. I’ve lived here longer than any other place, and when it was full of people and dogs it was just wonderful. It is much too big for me and I can’t shovel or snow blow anymore and an old house (1812) takes a lot of work. Mac and I and Dan the dog’s replacement, India, will move to a cottage in Martha’s back yard. It means a lot of downsizing, but that is good. Where will I put all my pictures?

Zoe, The picture thing is a puzzle for me also. I have some wonderful cross stitch christmas samplers that Fireslipper’s Mom made for me. I had a Christmas decorated ‘sitting’ room at my father’s house because we usually went down there just before Christmas. There is no Christmas themed room here. There is a wall about 12″ wide next to a closet door that has a few holiday items. Somehow that doesn’t make the cut. Yeesh.

Maybe I will have to start putting my holiday things out ONLY AT HOLIDAY TIME. What a concept.

And I have too many sewing machines!

    Ack!

Zoe – we are happy for you AND Martha and of course the dogs too. We know you will miss that grand old house, but think of all the wonderful memories a new family will have there. We love that house too, with the wide plank floors, and the separate West Wing. But it is huge. And you deserve an easier time of it.
The pictures? That is a good question. So many pictures. You may need revolving walls.

I already have a living room, dining room, and two bedrooms filled with the art work of Melanie and Rob and Andrea. Add in the downstairs of the West Wing, and boxes of pictures. ….All over. If the house sells for s decent price, Hank, who redid my basement will build another room on the cottage, which it could use.

Another problem with my place here is that I have to drive a long way to anything.
I don’t care much for driving anymore.

Zoe, I loved being in your big old house with the back end of a newf on my lap. I stress big and old. You will be better off in Martha’s cottage and close to family.

I downsized when I sold my house five years ago. It was hard to do and then felt wonderful when it was done.

You have all of this art because you have a family full of artists – serves you right!

I almost fainted when I read Staff’s comment about too many sewing machines. Never, ever thought I would hear that from her!

Zoe, I downsized 3 years ago from a big 2-story farmhouse on 5 acres to a sweet little 3-bedroom ranch with a little fenced yard. It is wonderful! You will always have those wonderful memories but life will be so much simpler and manageable. Plenty of room for you and two dogs. Making choices on the pictures and artwork will be hard, but maybe you can share with some of the other family members.

Zoe, The idea of downsizing sounds lovely to Mom; however, the actual packing/selling/giving of stuff sounds much more difficult.
Mom and Kat loved your big old rambling house. It was a place that echoed with laughter. As Tupper and Gilly said, a new family will cherish it and make wonderful new memories. We only wish we could have come up for your party, so we could have seen that wonderful house one more time.
