Well, Chet . . . that really looks familiar. Just put that pup in a black suit and you have us chasing Newfs down the street.
How come no one got some food to give him? That would have gotten the Pack leaving.
Anyhoo, seems to me I’ve read a bit about some canine called Chet that might have done this a time or two!

OleyHowlers: My feeling is that spelling is really going down the drain because of these darn spell while your trying to type. Who comes up the words they think you are trying to write anyway???
Supposedly geting 1 to 3 inches of snow today. Since it’s the first of the season, they are calling it a “heavy snow”. Later on “heavy snow” means over 12 inches.
I thought we’d hear from Rio and Friend but I guess they are still without power.

Today, the mean electricians are here again. We don’t like them in our house. Yesterday, T.C. and I hid under beds all day. Today, I am hiding out with Mom and Kat in her office. She keeps leaving me alone in here with that puppy, who thinks my ears are chew toys! We are hoping T.C. is safe.

Razzle-Frazzle!….snort!…. What’s been going on around here?…sniff!… I couldn’t get on the computer all day yesterday because there was a storm and then no power….snort!…Then my friend finally came home with some of those logs for the fireplace and started a big fire. Her mother was trying to burn bits of paper and that was only smoking up the whole house….sneeze!cough!….Then after the fire was going and I was sitting right in front of it…heh!….My friend went out again and brought back some really good hamburgers and French fries from a sports bar. I even got some because someone felt sorry for me sitting there in front of the fire with my Coat of Many Colors on….wuffle!
Wireless!….Right after that the power came back on and my friend and I ran downstairs to see if the wireless worked…grunt!….Nope! Comcast was out completely – no phone – no cable – no internet….huffle!….So we read for the rest of the evening and thanked our lucky stars that the World Series game had been postponed. I mean, what amazing luck is that?…yowzer!
Grunt!….My friend said I had to thank everyone out here for thinking about me yesterday while I was freezing my kibbles off….sniff! …So Thanks Everyone.

Billy the Bunny belongs to one of the Grands, Baye who is 12. He does not live with us, luckily for him.
He is an Angora Rabbit, and is very sweet. Barb is afraid that I would think he was a pest that needed to be erradicated. That is one of my jobs and I take it seriously. Cute doesn’t cut it with me!
Glad Rio has heat again. Brrr!
We watched Soul Surfer last night, and it was pretty good. The scene where the shark gets her arm was very real, and a little on the gory side, but probably not any worse than you would see on regular tv. Barb did not have to leave the room.

I’m glad things are back to normal Rio. My nephew (lives in Denver) said a tree branch weighed down with heavy snow snapped off and almost hit him yesterday. He jumped out of the way just in time.

Bear, We would recommend it, yes. Didn’t LOVE it, but liked it – maybe would give it a 7. It was good partly because it was a real story, and inspirational. Lots of good surfing shots.

We lost our power about 45 minutes ago, and just got everything back up and running now. Its those electricians, and they messed up Mom’s working at home pretty bad. She is not happy.

Melanie – Sam is getting rain and I’m getting ‘heavy rain drops’ – meaning mine’s almost snow. I live in ski country but I don’t want snow until the last week in November. Our opening ski day is always set for the day after Thanksgiving, weather permitting. Last year, skiing started a week early. A couple of years ago, it was around Dec. 7th. We don’t need snow to open, just cold temps and the snow guns will do the rest until Mother Nature can catch up. For now, I WANT SUNSHINE.

Mom and Pop didn’t know any of us when we were puppies, and their last puppy was almost 20 years ago. But from what they remember, they say that both those puppies were A LOT bigger than Kat is at almost 5 months old. Today, Pop saw a woman walking a 6-month old husky girl and he said Kat could walk under her! So now we think maybe Kat is a mini-husky!

Billy also lives with 2 Newfs, and when they go to their lake house, they all ride loose in the car- with the 2 Newfies in the very back. Billy rides on laps, and those 2 guys don’t even care! Not on my watch!

Maggie, do you think not getting the right food could affect her height? Dima and Sasha were very skinny when they came here, but Dima at least was very tall. Sasha was a petite Sibe. Maybe the pipsqueak will be like her. But she sure has a long way to grow.

Barb&Maggie: Oh Boy. Two Newfs riding without seat belts in the back? Wouldn’t want any quick stops in that vehicle.
When we lived in CA Dad used to let me ride shotgun in the van, with a seat belt on of course. Cops always got a kick out of seeing me there and would give him the thumbs up. One time he talked to an officer that had as his partner a girl K-9 that could have been my twin. I talked about her for days, begging mom & dad for a mate. But it was not to be.

Game on everyone! I will be by to pick up Rio and SiberH in the Wookiemobile later this afternoon. I understand that Wolfie will blur down to meet us at the game. I think we have great seats and they already have the World Series trophy on display to be able to give it to the winning team, either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how things go. I understand that Wolfie may be able to help out on the refreshment side too.
And Rio, I am always packing my extra warm coat; it’s part of me. I’m happiest when the temperature about 20 degrees. Wookie

Hi everyone – Mama just sent us a text that its lunch break at CLL. And the CL is GONE for the weekend – YAHHHOOOO!
Howlers – if Kat didn’t get the right nutrition as a baby, it certainly could stunt her adult size. But then again, she could be a petite and delicate little flower just because. Melanie’s Mattie is tiny, and she had excellent care as a baby. And her brother is HUGE, so who knows.
We would love to have Billy the Bunny come stay with us. Gilly has been working on her herding diagrams already. Our housemate, Callie the Pyrenees wouldn’t pay any attention to him, unless it was to lick him. Sometimes she lays out in the backyard and lets chipmunks sit RIGHT NEXT to her, or even in between her paws, and she just watches them without even thinking “fast food”.
And speaking of staying with people – Bee – Mama wants to know if you would like a live in cook/housekeeper/artist to keep you company in the Florida (wishful sigh) condo.

MMCS!….Speaking of Halloween – Is everyone going to be able to get their photos and descriptions to Melanie and then Rebecca soon?….snort!…. If you cannot make the Halloween deadline, never fear….sniff!….We will still accept any donated items you want to send to the MMCS after the deadline. Rebecca will in effect have a Rolling Inventory if enough items are received….grunt!…. Last year when Billy got sheared, Baye got a scarf knitted from his angora hair. First it got spun into yarn, then knitted. It was very soft and warm. Sort of like people getting stuff made from their dog or cat hair. Melanie could get a lot of black scarves!

Even found an extra bag of Salmon Yummy Chummies for SiberH. Just need to make sure that my GPS device is set for snow — check, that’s fine. I’ll get Rio first and then swing down to pick up SiberH and then off to St. Louie. Wolfie will rendezvous with us there. I’m off now. Wookie

Rose: Belle Starr hasn’t paid me back yet for the pink hockey tape she gave AJ for Christmas last year. I should have known she wasn’t good for it when she said she would pay with her future winnings—she doesn’t race. Of course, if I didn’t know that Luna and Belle Starr were on Perp Patrol, I would have sworn they were running in wheel position last night. AJ had to work last night, and told our handler to run dogs who don’t normally run with the race team (retirees, soon-to-be- retirees, young ‘uns)—just a fun, short run. That was understood to mean dogs that don’t consider themsleves to be dogs… 🙂

Wookie – just keep paws crossed that Rio’s friend or her mother don’t offer the inflatable pug a Zinger. When it doesn’t respond, they will know for sure that it’s NOT their pug!
Barb and Maggie – a couple of years ago, Mama collected all the sheddings and brushings of the Pyr, and had a pair of socks made from the spun wool. She gave them to her father for Christmas, and his face was an interesting study when he opened the box. Not sure if he was pleased, puzzled, “icked” out, uncomfortable or what. He tried to say a gracious thank you, but trust us, he would never have a successful career as a poker player.
And we have never seen those socks in the wash. What’s up with that?
