I’m reading Robbie. I wonder if that’s Pendleton on the cover art.

    Good morning all.

    Chet!
Please ask Admin if PA or OFA is going to be signing Robbie’s new book anywhere soon. I would like to order a signed copy. He can just post on your blog and I will get the message.

    Hugs,

By the way I already asked once and did not receive an answer. Sniff.

And while you are talking to Admin you might mention to Mike Baker that this comment window is overlapping the right side stuff and it is hard to see what you are typing because of it. Can Mike do something about that?

All right, off to feed the birds. I have hydrated some dried mealworms and hope that will help the poor starving creatures.

This winter I bought my sister some mealworms as a present for her chickens. Zoe was not expecting a bag of mealworms as she was getting out the rest of the groceries.

I was told NOT to ever let her see mealworms again. snicker.

    The chickens loved them.

I have FINISHED “Giving To The Poor”. No spoilers. LOVED IT!

As I understand it, birds eat twice their weight in food daily. It takes a lot of energy to fly.

Was just on Facebook. Turns out that an on-line friend from years ago . . Yes, Virginia, there was the internet before blogs, Facebook, and such . . on an old Usenet group. It was just when people were discovering that they had HCV. The patients took over the site! Power to the People! The doctors found us useful, because we would talk about our symptoms and what was being tried.

“But I was going to say when” the past broke in was her family lives in Moore,OK. They lived on either side of the swath of destruction. She is feeling very blessed today.

Good morning. We are still here, but our biggest danger is expected around lunch time. The Man is at school, and all 5 pooches are here, so I REALLY hope we don’t have to head to the powder room.

Staff, I wasn’t sure if your new rule was that you could only read at mealtimes, or if you MUST eat whenever you read. Big difference, heh-heh.

Just in case anyone forgot what snow looks like…it is hot here and I am thinking snow to cool off.

    Just heard from Golinka,
    Doctors are rear ends.
    One doc says surgery immediately,
One doc says there’s too much inflammation, have to wait it out.
    Blood tests said no inflammation.
Going to be with Smedley, the dancing giraffe.

So now everyone gets their own personal giraffe? Cool.

The dogs are staring in at me from the porch. However, if we are going to be cooped up all afternoon, they can stay out there until the storms get closer. I am sure they will all be vying for the chance to “protect” me.

    Oooh, I want that book!

T&G: Now that your knee feels like it is being stabbed with knives, has the pain in your paw gone away completely? Or are there too many giraffes to tell? How do you know who to believe when 2 doctors say 2 different things? My thoughts are with you hoping for pain-free living sooner rather than later.

MacyMinPin: Snow! It snowed last night at my home where I am not, although it has turned to a heavy rainfall by now. Now, you get inside before the storm hits.

Melanie: There are two things about which I agree with Zoe: 1. No mealworms in with the groceries, and; 2. I’m worried about you and that sawzall. (Hoping your house doesn’t start leaning over towards that hole you cut in the wall – yikes!) (Also hoping you still have all your digits and limbs a year from now – ouch!)

    Rio: Whose pawprint?

Staff: I was cleaning out the refrigerator this morning and found 2 jars of grape jelly. I put a little on a plate to see what comes along to eat it. Probably ants, which is another thing I found in the kitchen today.

    Macy, Stay safe, please!

Staff, The only thing we ever fed with grape jelly was ants. Never any birds, tho we did have Orioles.

Going to go read Orphan Trains and then nap. Orphan trains ran from NYC to the midwest for 75 years and we never read about them in history classes. How could that be?

  26. Melanie
    1:39 pm on May 21st, 2013

We should write an ode to Ants in the Kitchen.

Didn’t have as many as last year. Maybe the drought had something to do with it. We are still low on water for the area. 3.5 inches I believe.

Scarlet Tanager, I haven’t seen one since I lived in VA. Beautiful birds. Let me know if they like the grape jelly.

Zoe is taking the Nut Pack out for the walk/run. I am staying here. Too much uneven ground for me yesterday. After they get back it’s down the hill to get some compost. I have run out of ours.

Anyone on my quotation from 11:08?

The ski jump was all snow and that little lump is still there, even though it’s been in the 80’s for a few days. Last January there was a great big air bag at the bottom of the jump so skiers/boarders could donate to charity and go off the then big ski jump and not worry about the landing.

B.Stover, One of my favorite poems of all time! “Birches”

“But I was going to say when Truth broke in
With all her matter-of-fact about the ice-storm
(Now am I free to be poetical?)
I should prefer to have some boy bend them
As he went out and in to fetch the cows—”

I had to commute to William and Mary and it took over an hour each way. I memorized this poem. I can still repeat parts of it. And that’s from 33 years ago.

Riö, when we first came to live here in Western MA, there was no cell phone coverage anywhere. I went shopping, and it was one of those days. Traffic was bad, lines were long, couldn’t find what I was supposed to be getting. By the timeI got home, my parents had gotten themselves and my guys in a tither.

They had called 911, the Police in each town I had to go through AND checked the hospital, OTAS had a fight with his “at the time” girlfriend when she made a joke about me meeting a man.

So I come home tired and cranky to be greeted with tears, hugs and yelling.

    I was 51 years old.

Going to bed now. Everyone take care,

We are going to sleep. This game could go into extra innings, or the Rockies could get one run across the plate in the bottom of the ninth and win the game. Hope springs eternal.

Bella, when is the trip to DC? I hope Luna keeps Belle Star from putting you in a suitcase. Not a pleasant trip for you.

(Whispering) Belle Star, YSAS loved being in a suitcase and then being carried around. Of course, he was a lot younger. He also fit into the washing machine. He found that out by playing hide and seek. He had a bit of trouble getting out because the door locked on him. He is was a strange child. I bring this up so you can see if Belle would fit in the suitcase by having her get into the washing machine. If she can do that, imagine her surprise and delight when Poncho and Lefty trip her into the suitcase and you zip it up.
