RIP: Trouble
“Trouble died?” Admin says.
“Yup,” says Spence.
“Leona Helmsley’s Maltese? The one she left $12 million to when she died, even though she – the Queen of Mean – froze out some of her relatives?”
“The same,” says Spence. “And why shouldn’t she have done that? And even if it’s wrong in some way, it wasn’t Trouble’s fault. Trouble gave this woman, maybe not engineered for happiness, a little of it.”

Trouble; trouble trouble trouble trouble…. Our favorite commercial. We are hoping that we are in the will. (do dog’s make wills? I don’t have much more than my wardrobe and my schnitzel blanket. Few can wear my petite size clothes).
8:34 am on June 10th, 2011
Hi and bye! We are out the door in 2 seconds. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
How old was the Maltese? I didn’t think he/she was very old, like 12 or 13? Not old for a Maltese.
Bee, Thought of you this morning. Amazon advertised a book called How to Read Literature Like a Professor. Written by an English Prof from U of Michigan. Do you know him, and what do you think of the book?
Will catch up Sunday.

Oh, and Macy, tell your mom we are very proud of her for taking charge again and getting into those classes. Bravo!

YIKES!!! Mom is the chief of the punctuation police. She is going to have a Kat when she sees what I did. Takebacks!!!!
Oops, she already saw. She wanted me to write “dogs” 100 times, but I don’t care for pencils, except as snacks, so I will have to go to Word and type it instead.
*whisper* Mom says that I am not quite as petite as I think I am.
Is anyone else having a problem with the FB thingy being on top of the comment box?
Oh, and good morning. We are a little hyper here this morning. Mom had a rush-rush dream about the orange place that she can’t settle down from and her nervous energy is affecting us all.
8:46 am on June 10th, 2011
Mom says thanks Barb and Mags. I am going to scratch at her relentlessly until she gets that blasted recipe done. We do not want to be left out, but since I never ate any of the salad (cherries, patooey) I can’t help. I am pretty sure that there is more in there than cherries.
I am looking over the previous post and I think I may need to edit. …about the orange place
that she can’t settle down from… from which she can’t settle down… Bee? Mom is NOT chief of the grammar police, maybe a lieutenant. A little help here.8:52 am on June 10th, 2011
T n G, we are just now reading yesterday’s post. Bravo on the auction format. That is exactly what we were TRYING to say, but not having much luck. Perfecto. Ok, back to the catching up before mom goes to the resale shop for her volunteer day. There is no school on Fridays.
9:19 am on June 10th, 2011
Oh goody, Molly is coming today. I love the bags her mom brings because she forgets to close them all the way and then I can crawl inside. You never know what stuff I might find in there.
9:23 am on June 10th, 2011
Good Friday Morning to All!
Good Morning B! To answer your question from yesterday (I can’t stay up that late) the Brazilian method is a keratin treatment done in the hair salon that straightens your hair and lasts several months. I believe I had mine done in January, and my hair is still straight, although the heat and humidity this week kind of made my hair big. We had some big storms yesterday which thankfully, dropped the heat and the humidity, so a little flat-ironing has my hair looking better today!
I saw an interesting book in Borders yesterday:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/a-pug-s-tale?store=book
Rio: Might this book be about your life as an undercover secret agent??
9:24 am on June 10th, 2011
Good Morning Sam:
Happy hunting!
9:28 am on June 10th, 2011
I’m going to have to look up Leona Helmsley. Why am I thinking of magazine advertisements for a hotel?
Good morning all.
9:31 am on June 10th, 2011
Macy: This is the way I’d phrase it:
Mom had a rush-rush dream about the orange place and she can’t settle down. Her nervous energy is affecting us all.
Any time you have trouble with sentence structure, just rephrase to avoid the troublesome word or phrase.
9:36 am on June 10th, 2011
Hey Rose! Thank you. I’m trying the product that Mollypop’s mom uses.
Sam: I think you should stay out of purses unless you’re using one as a method of transportation.
It’s 57 degrees here….roller coaster ride.
9:50 am on June 10th, 2011
B, it’s even better than just a purse – Aunt Mollysmom brings her sleep over stuff in bags too. She has many Le Sportsacs and I love them all! Some even have food, can you imagine that!
9:51 am on June 10th, 2011
Oh – and some bags have chapstick!
10:03 am on June 10th, 2011
Barb: I have never heard of the book or author (Reading Literature Like a Professor by Thomas Foster) but read some of it at Amazon. It looks really interesting so I’ve ordered it. Thank you for telling me about it.
Saaaaaammm! You’re going to get into trouble……
10:19 am on June 10th, 2011
Macy, you make me laugh!
You too, Sam!
10:40 am on June 10th, 2011
For some reason Leona Helmsley seems–to me–like a character in a Mary Higgins Clark novel. Trouble was twelve when s/he died last December according to the article I read.
10:42 am on June 10th, 2011
Good morning. We didn’t get a chance to use the computer all day yesterday, and just now did a very quick scroll, because Mom is sick. It seems there are a lot of “final formats” for the auction item.
This is the one we think we are now supposed to use. Tell us if that is incorrect:
Title: Spanish Fan
ITEM #: To be added by Rebecca
Donated By: Anonymous Or Name of Donor.
Description: A work made entirely out of paper using a technique called “quilling.” Some bling has been added. It is mounted in a shadow box frame.
Size: 15” x 12” x 1 ½” deep
Opening Bid: $25.00
Bid Increments: $2.50 minimum
As for Trouble, there was a lot of money to be made by someone should she pass away. Just sayin’.
10:47 am on June 10th, 2011
Leona Helmsley: Wasn’t she remembered as the Queen of Mean? Spent some time in prison for tax evasion, etc.?? Seems Trouble lived his life in the lap of luxury, so to speak.
10:56 am on June 10th, 2011
I can’t stop laughing over Dawson’s triple and double last night and all of the comments. I’m going to have to make another cup of coffee….still haven’t finished reading the NYTimes…..
10:57 am on June 10th, 2011
Waaaaahhhhhh! Sniff, sniff……
we just found out that our long-lost, bestest, great-uncle Trouble has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was our very favorite uncle and we were his very favorite neices in the whole world. As a matter of fact, we are pretty sure that we are his ONLY SURVIVING RELATIVES…
Gee, we’re gonna really miss Unc. If only there was some little thing he had that we could have to remember him by. Or maybe 12 million little things, even just little green pieces of paper….
11:00 am on June 10th, 2011
Here’s the Wikipedia article on Helmsley. Trouble’s trust fund was reduced from twelve to two million by a judge who ruled that Helmsley was mentally unfit when she made the will.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leona_Helmsley
11:09 am on June 10th, 2011
….ore even just 2 million little green pieces of paper…..
11:27 am on June 10th, 2011
Good morning.
I’m gonna try posting on this double and triple posting machine one more time.
OleyHowlers: That’s right except there should be a blank line between the donated by and the description part.
11:27 am on June 10th, 2011
We just read the wikipedia link about Helmsley – geez -it took a JUDGE to figure out she wasn’t mentally fit???
11:29 am on June 10th, 2011
tee hee – Dawson, we “double posted” with you. See, you just can’t help it.
12:24 pm on June 10th, 2011
Trouble!…. Trouble is not only dead she is decomposed by now…grunt!…Why is Admin and Spencer spouting off old news to us now…sniff!
Oley!….That is the Final final version!! Be sure to put a line between the descriptors. …snort!
1:47 pm on June 10th, 2011
I am so sorry that I missed Dawson’s triple, double, and single last night.
Maybe today will bring the home run!
Errands today, blah, blah, blah, blah. Then I swung around to a certain Royal’s mum’s and found out about the Corgies’ Great Uncle.
That is such a shame . . . snicker.
Back now, clouding up again, but not a thing on the radar.
So far I think I have four copies of the Final version on the auction. Now I’ll put another on the desktop.
Oh, Zoë’s cut is healing well. Patting my back here.
3:06 pm on June 10th, 2011
Okay, messing about on the internet and found this audio. This is from Nathalie Miebach’s HurricanNoel piece.
She takes all the weather info, lays them out on a graph. Then puts in moon cycles or cloud cover and then she works with musicians to create the song.
Here’s the audio

And then about her . . .

My interests are many and varied . . . I don’t get bored
from Melanie!
3:10 pm on June 10th, 2011
Melanie, Even if Dawson makes a homerun it won’t count as hitting for the cycle. You have to make them all in the same game. Sigh. And she was so close. 😀
Oh, Dawson, that letter you were waiting for arrived. Please check your secret decoder device.
3:15 pm on June 10th, 2011
Bee, thanks for the assist. Mom is back from Beacon House and she is pretty proud of her haul today. She got a combo binoculars/digital camera for $5. It says that it is great for taking pictures of wildlife, so Annie is going undercover (actually underbush) to see if she can “capture” some fuzzbutts. Lately, they have not been too active. I guess it is even too hot for them.
Hey Wolfie! Mom has been forgetting to play WWF lately, but she will get there. She says to knock off with the giant point words. *snicker*

Oldies!…..What is the matter with Old People?….grunt!…. This morning her mother was outside with a chainsaw cutting up a large limb that blew off the tree during one of the storms….snort!…My friend is going to be so damned mad when she gets home and finds out…huffle! ….She told me she had a young guy all lined up to do that for her mother….grunt! …. Crap is gonna fly tonight, I can just tell….wuffle!

What Riö?
6:09 pm on June 10th, 2011
Hi to Chet the Jet and friends. A lot of you may already know this, but I am trying to spread the word about Dog Bless You, which is on Facebook and also has a web site (of course). They are giving dogs as companions to veterans with PTSD, for clicks on their pages. Thanks for letting me have this opportunity.
Best wishes, Sheila, proud friend of Dia, Mr Bacon, and Bear, also Gino, Phoenix and Patches, who are cats, but I think that’s OK.
6:14 pm on June 10th, 2011
Hi Shelia, and thanks for stopping by for a very good cause.
6:14 pm on June 10th, 2011
NOpe. Can’t figure it out. No trouble posting anything else but it won’tet me invite y’all down for a barbecue and hoedown. And I never mentioned those things you wear on your feet ….. Oh wait a cotton picking minute … Yes,I did but it wa about throwing those things that horses wear on THEIR feet.
Are they kidding?? I can’t mention playing a GAME?
6:21 pm on June 10th, 2011
Isn’t that weird, Mr. Redbone? The Royals’ Mum and I were talking about that today. Just what kind of software is being used?
Okay, a day or two or more ago we were talking about spiders and I mentioned the one in the downstairs bathroom doing it’s bit to reduce the mosquito population.
This is so embarrassing . . .
I have two sets of glasses; bifocals and computer. My computer glasses (red, love them) are set for me seeing at a distance of 20 to 24 inches. My bifocals are set distance and (so some dumb reason) 11 inches.
Between the two sets of glasses there are some distances that I just don’t see. You got it, that Spider that I thought I was letting live to catch bugs?
Dog hair.
Jeez. shaking head at myself

Oh dog, That is cute, Miss Macy. Love the expression on the girl’s face…looks like a girl Husky to me.
I wouldn’t be caught dead in that outfit.
7:19 pm on June 10th, 2011
That expression says, “Heeeeelp me!”
7:36 pm on June 10th, 2011
Very mellow here tonight. Mom and dad (and me too) are celebrating their wedding anniversary tonight — number 33 to be exact — a wonderful dinner that mom prepared (some beef tenderloin for me) and a bottle of one of ther favorite wines, Mollydooker Enchanted Path, a cab/ Shiraz blend from the McLaren Vale region of Australia. (LizF would probably appreciate that). And a yummy frosty paws for dessert, what could be better than that? Grandpa left yesterday to visit some relatives in Missouri, so the old folks have the home to themselves (other than moi, of course). Wookie
7:42 pm on June 10th, 2011
Wöökie, tell your parents HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(that’s 33 exclamation points)
That poor Husky. Are you sure it’s a girl, Siber-H?
Okay, Riö, I figured out what you were talking about and by the time I did they had taken it off their homepage! Bummer.
Now I’m reading Nevada Barr’s Burn. Borderline kept me reading.
TTFN
(Hi Awesome Dawson!)
8:06 pm on June 10th, 2011
Wookie: Glad you got some of that beef tenderloin. Congrats to your mom and dad on 33 years of marriage.
Stanley Cup Playoffs: Whoever wins 2 of the next 3 games gets the cup. Game on.
8:22 pm on June 10th, 2011
Very hot looking (but cute) Siber, Macy
Melanie: Happy to hear Zoe is okay.
Wookie: Lots of good wishes for your mom & dad’s anniversary! Enjoy your frosty paws!
We’ve been on a Damages marathon these last 2 days. Just finished Season 1 – now on to Season 2. So….that said
See everyone tomorrow…
8:29 pm on June 10th, 2011
Nah, Melanie, I am not sure it is a girl, but it looks like a girl and not because she/he is wearing a dress. Siberians are one of those breeds that you can tell by sometimes just looking at them what their gender is.
Your story about the spiders and the dog hair is funny. Mom says she is laughing with you, not at you.
Happy Anniversary to Wookie’s mom and dad!
8:46 pm on June 10th, 2011
Google!… They still have the instrument up and Alice was out there playing it awhile ago…heh!…I’m ready for a good ole fashioned Hootenanny!…WooooWeeee!
8:50 pm on June 10th, 2011
Software!….My friend says Mr. Redbone sounds just like her friends from the South when there were trying to figure out the new software this week…heh!snort!heh! …”Wait a Cotton Pickin’ Minute ya all” … heh!
8:53 pm on June 10th, 2011
Alright, I have taken out the word for foot covers. Lets see if that dagblamed moderator likes THIS any better –
Well now, this is turning into a right big hoedown! Y’all come on down and we’ll fiddle and dance and eat til the cows come home. The ladies can sit around under the magnolia trees, and the gentlemen can pitch horse hoof covers (we’ll take the horses out of them first)
8:57 pm on June 10th, 2011
We’ll have us some home brew and lots of sweet tea.And we’ll have some good eatin’ too. Ham hocks, greens, sweet ‘tater pie and the best ole bar-b-que y’all ever ate.
8:58 pm on June 10th, 2011
Now Miz Macy, don’t you fret about your little ole petite figure. Redbone knows how to make some right tasty food with no calories at all. Sides which – you are probably such a delicate little eater, you don’t hardly eat nuthin’ a’tall.
9:05 pm on June 10th, 2011
Calories!…Redbone, you could probably feed Alice and MinPin off one ole Rib and a few Greens, whatever those are….heh!…That leaves the rest of the food for the rest of us…snort! snort!…Me included.!! …I’ve got my Harmonica all ready for the Hoedown! …yee hawwww!
9:09 pm on June 10th, 2011
Dawson – I’m watching the hockey game too. No score so far. It’s so exciting when you get down to the very end and it’s all on the line.
9:17 pm on June 10th, 2011
Instruments!…. Lets see, I’m on harmonica, SiberH is Mr. Bojangles on his tambourine…heh!… Alice’s got her fiddle and what does Wookie play? Is it the banjo? I forget!…dagnabit to hell!…snort!
9:24 pm on June 10th, 2011
Hocky!…I’d be watching Hocky tonight if my team was in it to winnit…heh!…But as it is, I am watching the Rockies game and tuning my harmonica for the big Southern Party at Redbones this weekend…heh!…Don’t actually know the date we are a meetin’ up…sniff!… OH NO! I am forbidden to leave the yard…grump!…I will not be able to go to Redbones party ….sob!sob!sob!…woooooo!…snuffle!
9:25 pm on June 10th, 2011
Hey Rio – we’re gonna come along to the hoedown. We can sing!
(Unless CHarris shows up – she NEVER lets us sing)
9:46 pm on June 10th, 2011
Mr. Bojangles?
I watched some of the hockey game before the Rockies’ game started. I could get into hockey. Those dudes move fast. Maybe the next hockey game will be at a different time than when the Rockies are playing.
9:52 pm on June 10th, 2011
Herbs!…Can you sing Baritone Twang for the song, “Hillbilly Bone”? …heh!…. Here is one version that I think would be fun at the party I cannot attend….grunt! sob!

9:54 pm on June 10th, 2011
Rio, We have to do something about you not being able to leave your yard.
10:01 pm on June 10th, 2011
Rio – of course you can’t leave your yard on your own, but could you leave your yard if you had adult supervision? Mom said she might come with us.
10:02 pm on June 10th, 2011

Molly!…It would have to be an “undercover” operation while you-know-who is not looking…grunt!….But that won’t be till tomorrow night because she will drag me along with her all day long to do this and that…sniff!… I think she will be busy doing other stuff without me tomorrow night though, maybe….heh! …As long as I am back in my bed by 6:00am…sniff!snort!
Rockies!…They are a scorin’ tonight!….Woooooo!Weeeee! …heh!
10:10 pm on June 10th, 2011

Hillbilly Bone da Bone da Bone daBoneBone

Thats ok Brother Rio – the pot likker from the greens won’t be good and rich til tomorrow night anyway.
10:12 pm on June 10th, 2011
Hey, y’all! Sorry I wasn’t here earlier, but I spent the day supervising Mom and Dad. They’ve been trying to put the doors on their “new” pantry. When they bought it there were already doors on it, but the guy had taken a chisel and dug out the sides of the pantry, then took huge hinges and sawed them up the middle to make them fit. Mom decided they needed to repair the cabinet and put on more appropriate hinges. They ended up going back to the “not high” store a bunch of times, and spent about $10,000 on hinges. Some of them they took back, but others they already used — and stripped the screws! — so they couldn’t take them back. But today — after about three weeks of working on this project! — they finally got the doors on. If they would have listened to me, I’m sure they would have been done much sooner!
10:16 pm on June 10th, 2011
WOO WOO What an inning for the Rockies!! WOO WOO
Hi, Kirby

Happy Anniversary and many more to come…especially if Wookie gets steak in the bargain.
10:23 pm on June 10th, 2011
Wookie!…We all know he will get what’s coming to him tonight…heh!…Steak, wine, cheese, cool air…sniff!…It’s all his to enjoy!…snort!
10:24 pm on June 10th, 2011
Wookie: Happy Anniversary to you and yours! Mom and Dad celebrated their anniversary a couple weeks ago — but for them it was only 32. That’s OK though, they’ll catch up next May. Oh, but then a couple weeks later they’ll be behind again. Oh, well!
10:29 pm on June 10th, 2011

There was just a guy on Leno that could bark like a hound dog on a cold trail and on a hot trail. I bet Mr. Hound could do that in his sleep.
12:07 am on June 11th, 2011
I am finally home from work and glad that the work week has ended. Whew!
Rio: How did you ever get to go to the royal wedding if you can’t leave your yard? This pesky rule seems to really cramp your style.
T&G: So sorry to hear about your heretofore unknown favorite, most beloved uncle. Please make sure you keep the bag with all those pieces of green paper in it closed as long as Princess Sam is around.
Sam: You’re a fan of chapstick? You’re a girl after my own heart, though I prefer the wearing to the eating.
12:47 am on June 11th, 2011
And the Dallas *patooye* Mavs may be one game away from the Basketball championship. World Series, Super Bowl…just need one more to complete the set. (-the hockey Stars who let us down)
