RIP Stephen Huneck

“Sad news today,” Bernie says.

Bernie’s always right, and especially this time. Stephen Huneck was a great friend of the nation within the nation.

“Let’s go for a walk.”

I’m at the door.

That is sad news. I remember when he was working on The Dog Chapel. What a wonderful idea.

His dog chapel was indeed inspirational and his insights into the workings of the minds of the nation within a nation were on par with Bernie. We visited his Woodstock, Vt store many times and have some of his creative works. Just putting up his Angel Dog ornament this Christmas made us reminisce about our trip to the Dog Chapel. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

Ivy, Nice pictures yesterday. Looks like you really know how to nap. It is such an important life skill.

    Say 'Hi' to your Abby.

Saddened to hear about Stephen Huneck. Although I don't live far away, I have never visited the chapel, nor do I own any of his art. Thoughts go to his family.

Also, Thanks for the comments, AbbieTheKitty. Napping sure is what you say it is – – an important life skill, for sure.

Abby here. Ivy can't believe it!!! She is only on page 24 of THAT…but laughing about FedEx and UPS. It is very true. She's posted about this the other day…about the nice UPS man in the Big Brown Truck w/ the treats. Trust me…the FedEx man NEVER gives treats. FedEx needs to get a grip about the Nation within the Nation.

UPS rocks! Did I mention that Ivy used to work for UPS? Those were good times (but before I found Ivy's forever home).

    Love it!

Hey Dogtanian and Jackie (and other Chet-ophiles from Australia), I ordered THAT from the other day and just got an email saying it's on the way!!! Can't wait…

Oo Liz, that sounds intriguing! Maybe I'll ask them if it will arrive before 1st Feb if I order soon – it sounds like that's the new release date for Australia. I hope it arrives soon!

I've put a photo and message from Dogtanian Jr on Friends of Chet. Dogtanian isn't a 'real' dog and can't do everything a real dog does, but he's a good soft toy puppy and does his best to fill the gap until we move and can rescue a puppy! Cricket is lovely – where was the photo taken?

Hi Dogtanian, i got too impatient to see what you look like because FoC is sooooo slow to load. I'll try again later. I thought i was talking to a real pup!!

They say the shipment is 2-3 days for NSW so i should have it by the end of the week – hahaha! YAY. They said they'd have it in stock on 5/1, but didn't get it til today so it's now in stock and on the way. I don't know where they would have got their copies from – every book store i asked told me February too.

Cricket's pic was taken at the South Coast – Rosedale, to be exact. Whereabouts are you? She's from the rspca, i got her 8 years ago. She's a dog who knows her own mind – kelpies are too smart, my opinion! I tell her to do stuff and she goes "yeah….Nup"!

Here I am Liz and Cricket… My humans say I’m a ‘real soft toy dog’ – not sure what the difference is… I love to bark and sniff, but don’t chew much because my mouth doesn’t open.

My humans REALLY want a ‘real’ dog, but have to wait a little because they’re renting my house at the moment. When they buy me a house they’re going to get a real dog, but they tell me it might not be a great idea for me to hug the real dog because it will want to chew me. I don’t think I’d mind.

We live in Perth, but Jackie grew up in Sydney…

Whoa, we feel so stupid. While scrolling thru Friends of Chet, we just realize the Audry (#2) is Spence's dog….saw him on the book jacket and put 2 & 2 together. It's a good thing Chet is the mystery solver with Bernie since we couldn't even figure that out.

Oh hey! Have you had the cool change yet? It's a hot night here. Cricket really wants to live at the beach, as you saw on the pic. How much longer does Jackie have to wait til she can get her rescue dog?

G & BB – thanks for the tip!
