Ridiculously Early Sneak Peek: Robbie Forester (Opening)
At first I thought it all began with a foul—if an elbow to the head’s not a foul, then what is?— but I figured out, maybe not as soon as I should have, that the beginning had come a little earlier. Just five or six hours, in fact, with me on my way to school and no time to lose. The second the doors of the subway car slid open, I jumped out, hurried along the platform, and took the stairs to street level two at a time. At the top, I was turning left, all set to run the block and a half to school, when I noticed something not right in front
of the newsstand by the subway entrance. A homeless woman who’d been sitting outside for the past few weeks—homeless, please help read the writing on the coffee cup she always held—was out there again, only now she’d tipped over and lay on her side. It must have
just happened, because none of the people around—and there were lots—had gone to her yet. So I did.
I leaned over her. The woman was old, with white hair and a lined face, but maybe because her eyes were closed, I suddenly had this vision of how she’d looked as a young girl. She’d been really pretty. Something about that took away the fear I’d normally have had at such a moment.
“Are you all right?” I said.
Her eyes opened—blue eyes, but so faded there was hardly any color at all, except for the whites, which were crisscrossed with red veins. “Do I look all right?” she said, her voice surprisingly strong and not at all friendly.
I didn’t know what to say.
From Robbie Forester and the Outlaws of Sherwood St. (Jan. 19, 2012, Philomel). Conclusion of this scene next Sunday.
Welcome Opal K9 OTJ.

I can already see Robbie added to my future ‘Must Read’ pile.
Mornin’.
9:09 am on August 21st, 2011
Hi, Bella. Good Sunday, Everybody.
Nice, PSQA, very nice.
9:18 am on August 21st, 2011
Bluecat: Fancy meeting you here.
10:00 am on August 21st, 2011
Remind me when this is coming out again?
Morning All, feeling somewhat better.
OS X Lion is beginning to grow on me. Concerned about my photoshopping though.
T&G: Jesse’s mom uses some sort of netting over her blueberries to keep the birds off, what about something for the tomatoes and corn?
Riö: An hour long walk? So proud of you!
10:18 am on August 21st, 2011
I like Robbie Forester already! Now we have to wait a week to have a bit more. Always waiting, it’s just not the American way. I prefer immediate gratification. I’m sure Rio will agree with me.
10:23 am on August 21st, 2011
Good Morning!
10:25 am on August 21st, 2011
Melanie, It says Jan 19th, 2012. Can’t wait, we are going to love Robbie.
Back to the tomato blight – yes we have it too. Just on some plants, and it started after that huge rain we had, which drowned everything. Tomatoes are ok, it is just the leaves that are dying. At least I know it is not something that happened in our seed saving process.
Kim is coming over in a few minutes to take the boy goats home. The older one is doing that lip curling thing that horses do too – Oley and Bee, you know what we mean. He needs to be away from the little girl goats, before he gets too friendly! Funny thing is he is still nursing, but now he is getting those other ideas!
10:35 am on August 21st, 2011
Yes, Barb and MagPie, I actually remember that . . . Lord those male goats are really h****!
If you’re really hot, get a look at this video. First time it’s snowed in New Zealand for 30 years!

Jeez Louise, I swear the pink information wasn’t there the first time I read it. But the way my brain has been skipping, who knows?
10:37 am on August 21st, 2011
What fun! Thank you Spence.
Good morning all.
Barb: Never too young I guess…LOL!
10:52 am on August 21st, 2011
Did we ever decide if Robbie is a he or a she?
Good morning, everyone.

Did we ever decide if Robbie is a he or a she?
Good morning, everyone.
10:54 am on August 21st, 2011
Ooooooo, a Double Dawson. I am impressed!
11:06 am on August 21st, 2011
PS Thank you for the peek, PSQA. We just know that we are going to love Robbie.
11:10 am on August 21st, 2011
Melanie: Happy to hear you’re feeling better, but too bad about the photoshop. Yes, what will you do without it. What will WE do without it! (lol) What is OX x Lion? a program for Mac?
Robbie looks like a gal every bit as engaging as Ingrid was/is. I believe this book is due to come out in January, if I remember correctly.
A friend recently told Nana about a book called “A Dog’s Purpose” by Bruce Cameron that is supposed to be very good.
Macy: You were asking about Winter’s Bone. We saw the movie. Good, but a different type of storyline. The lead actress was up for an Academy Award for the part.
SnowBella: Your avatar is beautiful!!! Looking forward to hearing the pup’s story. What is the little guy’s name?
11:23 am on August 21st, 2011
Good morning dahlings! All is well here in the middle of the mitten. Hope you have a lovely, relaxing day.
11:24 am on August 21st, 2011
Good Sunday, Plunderers!
Robbie Forester sounds like it will be a great series. Robbie has to be a girl. If she were a he, he would spell it with a Y not IE.
Maggie, we sure do know about that lip-curling thing. Shiek was even doing that last week, which was scary. But usually its just a smelling kind of thing. In the case of the boy goats, we can just guess what they are smelling!
We are going to a birthday party in a park today. We’ll fill you in when we get home.
11:35 am on August 21st, 2011
Looking like a beeeautiful day! May get a little warmer than usual though. The video from New Zealand should do the trick to cool us off.
A very strange thing happened recently. A call came in on the land line with the caller ID showing it was from “Phone Scam”! The originating area code of this mysterious call was 541 (Oregon). What the Hey? Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing?
Buddy were you the one setting up a class at Katskills U, or was it Alice?
11:45 am on August 21st, 2011
Staff: Happy to hear you are enjoying the Mitford Series. About reading that type of book – it was the same reaction here – not our usual choice. Nana’s sister sent her the first two books in the series and she was so enchanted with the fictional little town and characters that she ordered the other seven books in the series shortly thereafter.
11:51 am on August 21st, 2011
I’m hooked already on this book by just reading today’s post…looking forward to it!
Bear, If you read ” A Dog’s Purpose” you will need to keep a box of tissues handy.
Rebecca, That is a cute photo of both you and puppy! When you have time, tell us more about how filming went yesterday.
11:55 am on August 21st, 2011
Siber-H: Oh, oh! Another emotional story, is it? Now we are intrigued and will have to order it sooner.
11:55 am on August 21st, 2011
Masquers, it would certainly make life easier if the caller ID was truthful!
BearSpiritDog, yes it’s the newest operating system for Mac. My upstairs computer is too old for Lion, so I’m going to see if I can use my newest Adobe Photoshop upstairs to run the newer Photoshop. Hopefully the old computer is not TOO old.
I have just put up 8 pints of blueberries. Thank you, Mr. Redbone Hound, for your advice of putting up the peaches (which I still need to do). I used your advice for the blueberries and they look quite nice!
Remember when I asked for advice for OTAS and F’s wedding invitation? Bella came up with a beautiful poem (I think I’ll use that as a toast) and then when it was too long came up with two beautiful lines that OTAS and F will be using.
“Seeds of love, lasting and true,
take root this day as bride and groom.”
F and her fellow teachers at an art camp have made the paper for the invites. It is handmade paper with flower seeds in it. And you can plant it!
The wording will be on vellum over the paper.
12:02 pm on August 21st, 2011
Melanie: The lines for OTAS & F’s wedding are very beautiful and we like the idea of the flower seeds as part of the invitations. Did Rebecca ever post that poem she wrote on the blog?
12:23 pm on August 21st, 2011
BearSpiritDog, if Bella gives permission, I’ll put it up!
Need help with figuring out a song. . .
Either it is a children’s song or a commercial, it went
C B A G
C B A G
C B C C#
D B A G
and then on.
It might have been “I like “something” Can’t remember.
Any takers?
12:53 pm on August 21st, 2011
Melanie I am all befuddled by your ‘song.’
12:55 pm on August 21st, 2011
There was far too much snoriing going on last night, and much of it was courtesy of Luna. She denies the claim as a lady doesn’t snore…
Melanie: I’m glad you are felling better. Feel free to post the poem.
1:09 pm on August 21st, 2011
I think this was the final version, Bella.
“Two souls once wandered alone,
At last found, and to the other known.
With passion and fidelity each does nourish
a new growth of love bound to flourish.
The love of two, now one does bloom
Takes root this day as bride and groom.”
Storm coming, over and out!
1:36 pm on August 21st, 2011
We haven’t heard from Rose.
1:44 pm on August 21st, 2011
Robbie!…. Wow! An early peek at Robbie…snort!….That is definitely written in a different voice than the Ingrid books are…heh!…Can’t wait! Twirling! I’m twirling!…wheeze!
Books!… Funny, I do not remember Staff mentioning the “Mitford” Series on this here blog…grunt!…Very amazing coincidence in that my friend came home yesterday from the ARC (not Spencer’s) with three books and one of them is the first in the “Mitford” series me thinks….snort! ….This is amazing because my friend says she has never heard of the Mitford Series till yesterday at the store when the book caught her one wandering eye…heh!
Low-down!….Those two left me all alone this morning after they took off to get stuff at the Lowe Store and then groceries it looks like…grunt!… My friend and I came down here because she says she is “Up To Here” with her mother constantly telling her what to do all morning long….snort!… She tells my friend the most minute things like, “ …cut it open with a knife and then put them in the pan and put the knife over here by the sink…” ….on and on and on and on and on. …..grunt!….Now I’m tired of it too…sniff!
2:15 pm on August 21st, 2011
I hear you and your friend, Riö!
2:15 pm on August 21st, 2011
Stover, I was wondering the same thing about Rose. Hope she is okay.
2:25 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rebecca, Loved your avatar picture. Both you and the puppy are very cute!
Winter Bones. We watched it too. Very different film for us, sort of dark and depressing. Yet inspiring to watch the gritty personality of this young woman who was the main character. Sort of felt like I needed a shower after watching it, as everyone was a llittle unkept looking.
2:46 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rio, You think that is minute. How about Barb’s boss – “Use my name for the sign on- pat that is P A T, or try don, that is
D O N. Or how about, “Try his cell but don’t call his home number, because that will ring at his home”. Duuuhhhh!
2:55 pm on August 21st, 2011
Barb gets a day off from the nagging stuff.
Rio and Friend don’t.
3:37 pm on August 21st, 2011
After the storm, I turned the computer back on and noticed we were going to get a break! Out to the Pool . .
Even though cold (burrr) it did feel good on aching joints. I was able to get my leg and ankle moving!
Another batch of storms to come. Quite a front coming through.
(whispering) One of the things I find annoying is when Dan AND YSAS tell me to do something JUST AS I’M DOING IT! Frizzelsnicks!
There have been times that I just switch the way I was going to do something just so they’re wrong! I know I’m terrible.
I think it’s the ADHD in them. Though I find when we have puppies and started to train, that’s how I would do it. They would start to sit and I would say, “Sit, Good dog!” Then as they figured it out, I could say sit and they would.
Oh My Dog, do you think that’s what Dan and YSAS have been doing all these years? Trying to train me?
Dog, did they lose at that one!
3:46 pm on August 21st, 2011
Renters!… Now with the third and Final renter moved into the house the nagging has not stopped…grunt!… It has been a constant stream today of, “You better go over there and tell them this and show them that and don’t forget this….”….wheeze!… My friend knows that the renters are not home this afternoon, so it would be fruitless to go over there and knock knock knock on the door….sniff!….Does this stop the nagging? NO!….So we are down in the basement again after grabbing a bite of lunch, ham rollups and veggies!!…gruff!…Ham is one of my favorite things, have I ever mentioned that?…slurp! slurp! burp! ….Where was I?? ….oh!… At 2:00 she is going to call one of the renters and find out when they will all be home tonight….sniff!…Then we are both going over there to talk to them about the fact that Only 3 Adults can live in the house and some other stuff …grump!
4:02 pm on August 21st, 2011
Melanie – We had your storm early this morning. Lots of places lost power. It was very loud and woke us up. Now we have just finished with another one! Sorry, but I think I’m passing that one on to you too.
4:59 pm on August 21st, 2011
Wookie: Please check your SDD. Oh, and please ask our mom to give you a tummy from Snowhook.
5:04 pm on August 21st, 2011
We just arrived home from the birthday party. The party was for Mom’s friend Sam’s wife. He goes all out on parties, and the pavilion was decorated in a South Pacific barbeque theme. Many Asian foods that Mom said we couldn’t have. But finally we got hamburgers. Yummmmm
During the party, a terrible thunderstorm hit. Meashka was so nervous, between the loud thunder, the pouring rain, and having to squeeze in tight in the middle of the pavilion with all those strangers. Dima was calm, cool, and relaxed though.
The best part of the party was all the little kids. At first most of them were scared of us…can you imagine that?? But we made friends with them and then they loved us… naturally. Especially child-lover Meashka. She was in her glory then.
5:06 pm on August 21st, 2011
We didn’t get to go to the party. Instead, we were home ALONE in the horrible thunder storms. It rained royals and herbs!! heh heh. We love that one.
There are lots of storms on the way yet. What a crummy day.
5:29 pm on August 21st, 2011
Yes, MollyPop, you have sent it on it’s way here!
Glad it was a good party OleyHowlers! I just did a dramatic reading of the pdf of Dishlickers!
Lots of good stuff in there . . .
6:20 pm on August 21st, 2011
I am envious of all the storms. It is hot hot hot and dry here.
6:33 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rebeccas – Wookie checked is SDD and he is awaiting shipment! He is of course the supervisor for ALL sewing projects – quality control!
6:41 pm on August 21st, 2011
I would like to have heard Melanie’s dramatic reading.
6:42 pm on August 21st, 2011
Special Agent Wookie: Copy that. Over and out.
Thinking of shipping, Mr. Wigglebutt did you happen to receive anything via post this week? If not, I can only assume that TMG have ridirected their efforts from Dawson.
6:48 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rio,
Staff says to remind you that she won the ‘Mitford Series’ at the Snowhook Auction. You must not have registered that winning bid somehow. Maybe you were busy at the time.
6:50 pm on August 21st, 2011
It was excellent, B.Stover! The Pack drooled and we got very hungry. Luckily, Dan had roasted a chicken and veggies earlier today for tonight! Yummers.
Well . . . more storms coming in. Can hear the thunder. From what it looks like on radar I’ll be signing off now. We lost one branch from a Maple tree in the back. Not real big, but big enough. Hopefully that will be it.
TTFN
6:58 pm on August 21st, 2011
Goats!… Agent Wigglebut is actively keeping the goats distracted from the main object on route right now…snort!…He has been blurring around keeping them off balance and all while nipping at their hooves …chorkel!
7:01 pm on August 21st, 2011
AbbieTheKat!… I knew there was a Series out there for auction, but to tell you the truth we both were far too busy to look it up and find out anything about it…grunt!…So we forgot all about the name…heh! …Since you are reading it, we’ve decided that we will start that one next….snorkel!
Staff!…Please be home tomorrow around the normal time you receive your bills and junk mail…heh!snort!
8:19 pm on August 21st, 2011
Appointment!…We have to go talk to some renters now…grump!
8:30 pm on August 21st, 2011
Hi everyone –
Melanie wants you all to know that she is ok. Mama called her a little while ago because there was a “funnel cloud warning” in her area, and we know they don’t watch much tv at night. Sure enough, they hadn’t heard, but Melanie had everything off because of the thunderstorms.
But the bad storms have passed now and The Pack is all safe and serene.
And no fuzzbutts in the garden today…but there weren’t any ripe tomatoes either….
8:36 pm on August 21st, 2011
It’s not easy being green, or is it? In an effort to use up the last of the paint, AJ painted the steps leading to the dog barn. Looking for shade, Tenzing found a nice spot of cool for an afternoon nap. When he rose from his brief slumber the once white, black and orange dog is now all of those same colors with one side of his body accented in dark green.
9:00 pm on August 21st, 2011
Came home from vacation to lots of work!
No rest for the wicked, aye.
Poor Tenzing! Just trying to find a patch of cool. Now looks like an Irishman in his shades of green.
9:03 pm on August 21st, 2011
Bella – just send him to visit with me for a spell. Its a’rainin buckets here, and he would be washed clean in no time a’tall. Even if it is supposed to be long lasting, “permanent” paint.
9:03 pm on August 21st, 2011
T&G, Are all these storms western MA is having this summer normal or is it weird weather?
Glad Melanie and the pack are okay.
9:03 pm on August 21st, 2011
Bella, nope, nothing yet. But it is better for the goats to eat a calendar than a quilled fan. We will keep them distracted until the fan has been safely delivered!
9:04 pm on August 21st, 2011
Poor Tenzing!
9:07 pm on August 21st, 2011
Hurricane Irene is on the horizon1 First one of the season.
The weather here is so nice right now. But we, too, have our times of high winds and inclement weather. Sometimes up to 90 miles per hour wind velocity.
Stay safe everyone!
9:13 pm on August 21st, 2011
Mr. Redbone: Thanks for the offer. Maybe he could stop by and visit some of the Plunderers on his way. Especially Rio with that blasted ‘don’t leave the yard’ rule.
Tenzing can’t see why I’m making such a fuss. When you’re color blind, green fur looks the same as orange and black does it not?
Siber-H: I was wondering the same thing too about the weather that those in the Newf area are experiencing.
9:25 pm on August 21st, 2011
Wolfie: I’m glad you’re on the job.
9:29 pm on August 21st, 2011
We Howlers have been taught that you can never be green enough. Tell Tenzing to be Proud to be Irish.
It has been a tiring weekend (finished ours up with more of Barb’s “concoction”). Good night Plunderers. Stay safe … There are a lot of bad storms around. We may end up in the Big Bed tonight.
9:35 pm on August 21st, 2011
Good night all.
9:48 pm on August 21st, 2011
Siber – this has indeed been a bizarre summer. We do have summers with lots of thunderstorms, but thats not what has been weird.
We had almost no spring. It was COLD for the longest time. We still had our “fur” blankies in our beds til the middle of July. Some days were pretty hot, but then the night would be really cold. Then mid-July, it got HOT HOT HOT and humid. That lasted to the beginning of August. And of course, we had that F-3 tornado, right in the heart of our biggest city in the area.
Our local tv station had a traffic cam positioned on the bridge in that city, and that was exactly where the tornado started, so we saw footage of the swirl start, then falter, then explode into a whole funnel cloud, sweeping down the river, over the side of the bridge, pick up and slam down a tractor trailer on the bridge and head into the heart of the city.
As much as Mama loves summer and the hot sun, this year, she has been hiding in air conditioned comfort whenever possible.
10:02 pm on August 21st, 2011
I know B. Stover has already turned in for the night, but here is a picture of Charlie. While the team stopped to rest during the heat of the day on the Iditarod trail, Charlie, found comfort using the bag that holds the team’s next meal, usually of kibble and meat or fish as a pillow.

10:10 pm on August 21st, 2011
Accomplished!…. Our dirty deed is done…heh!… We went over to my other house and met with those guys that are living there now…grunt!… I, of course ran through each and every room sniffing out every little thing and reporting back….snort!…Everything looked nice and tidy and they are very nice young people…sniff! …They like me a lot, no surprise there…heh!… Anyway, they will not be bringing their other friend in to live there. Hopefully, all the nagging over here will stop now….wheeze!
Walk!…We came back and went on our Brutal Walk already….snort!… Now we are free to relax and take it easy tonight….sneeze!
Summer!… My summer has been almost perfect…snort!… It was a tad hot in July, but nothing I couldn’t handle inside in the air-conditioning….heh! ….Now the evenings are cool and we like sitting out on the patio swatting mosquitos….wuffle!
10:11 pm on August 21st, 2011
That is how I spend my summers..under the air conditioner.
The weather here is sooo boring. The old timers tell stories of
real snowstorms. The ten below temperature last winter was fun for us Sibers, but not for all the people in NM that were without heat.
I hope the renters don’t dognap Rio and hold him hostage. Mom just told me not to worry…they would return him.
10:15 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rio, I’m glad you had a successful mission.
Rebecca, that is a cute photo and it enlarges nicely. Stover will find it tomorrow.
10:17 pm on August 21st, 2011
Yup Siber – we keep telling you not to worry about Rio. Think “Ranson of Red Chief” (tee hee)
Mama is yawning…looks like we are about to be thrown out for the last run of the night, and then get tucked into our snuggly beds. Hope there’s no bears out there tonight….
Wait…GILLY!!! I said NO BEARS….not herd bears….WAIT, come back here and stop that barking! GILLLLLLLLYYYYYYYY!
Gotta run folks – gotta get that crazy puppy back in here.
G’night all
10:30 pm on August 21st, 2011
Oh, Gilly…
10:31 pm on August 21st, 2011
Oh, the tales of precipitation!! *sigh*
Ain’t gonna rain no more, no more.
Ain’t gonna rain no more.
How in the heck can I was my neck,
If it ain’t gonna rain no more?
10:32 pm on August 21st, 2011
Bears!…That Gilly is right out of her cotton pickin’ mind….grunt!… You won’t catch me chasing bears no matter how bored I am…heh!
Project!…My friend started another project today…sniff!…She says it is for her sister. She is making it up as she goes….wuffle!….In fact she didn’t get very far on it today, so I have no idea what it is going to be. She says she is very behind in projects. She has this one to do, plus one for her niece and then another three to do for friends and then there is the Mercantile Store to think of…wheeze!….She will never get it all done, never in a million years…grunt!
10:33 pm on August 21st, 2011
*wash* my neck
10:36 pm on August 21st, 2011
Good night, all.
10:36 pm on August 21st, 2011
Wash!….heh!snort!heh!… Her father used to sing that song all the time when it was hot and dry….snort!… He liked to sing funny songs around the house…wuffle!…It used to drive her mother crazy…hmmmmm!
10:52 pm on August 21st, 2011
Macy, There us a really good book by Elmer Kelton called “The Time it Never Rained”. It is about the horrible drought in Texas in the fifties. It is a classic like the “Grapes of Wrath”.
This present drought is worse than the one in the fifties.
Mom says it is time to read the book by Elmer Kelton again.
I am also going out for last call now and mom and her flashlight are going with me. I could understand the whole trip better if it were bears she were worried about instead of skunks.
night everyone
10:56 pm on August 21st, 2011
Hey, y’all! We’ve been busy this weekend. Mom and Dad both had to work yesterday — Dad’s school is a boarding school, and the students started reporting yesterday. Then today was the start of the new year for Sunday School, and with Mom being the Sunday School superintendent she had to get ready for that and then had a Sunday School meeting tonight. Silly Mom was up late last night getting a game ready for Sunday School, then this morning she got up and found out that the stickers she had used to fasten things didn’t stick, so she had to redo everything with tape. And then when she got to Sunday School it turned out that the kids took longer on the craft than she thought, so they didn’t even have time to play the game after all. As Melanie is fond of saying, Fizzlesticks!!!
Anyway, I wanted to pop in long enough to say hey! Tomorrow is another busy day. Mom has to take her car to get new tires — Dad said something about one of them being almost bald, but I don’t get it. I’ve wet on a lot of tires in my day, and I’ve yet to see one that has a lick of hair! Mom says that with the work they had done on Friday and getting new tires tomorrow, she feel’s Rio’s friend’s pain. I have a feeling that means no treats for me!
11:02 pm on August 21st, 2011
Kirby T: It’s probably better that you mom was over prepared than under prepared.
11:06 pm on August 21st, 2011
Hey, Rebecca! I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your poem. Did you actually write that?
11:16 pm on August 21st, 2011
Kirby T: I’m glad you like it and indeed I did write it. You can ask Melanie, my inner editor got the better of me so there were a few versions.
11:21 pm on August 21st, 2011
Rebecca: That’s pretty cool that OTAS and F are using that for their wedding! Maybe you should start advertising your services on some wedding sites — you could earn enough to buy some treats for your guys. I can tell you from experience, treats are very much appreciated!!!
11:25 pm on August 21st, 2011
Kirby T: When Melanie told me that they chose it, I called AJ and told him I was finally published. 🙂 I could even send treats your way.
11:31 pm on August 21st, 2011
Treats!… My treat budget is depleted…grunt!… Between the car and “other” stuff it is completely gone…sniff!….Thank goodness a good-hearted soul bought me a new baseball toy…heh!… I can’t sleep with it yet because, well you know why…gurgle!… The whole picture thing has to happen…grump! ….She actually did take the photo, but she says I have “Green-Eye” and that is not acceptable to post on the blog…wuffle!

Rio: How does your friend expect you to enjoy your baseball toy if you can’t make it your own?

Rio: I can’t have any of my toys at all! I’ve got one that matches the one you got for Christmas. And I’ve gotten all sorts of other toys over the years. But Those Girls keep trying to get them away from me. And in protecting my toys I guess I took it a little too far. Or so Mom says. Anyway, she put all my toys away, and says I can’t have them until I learn how to play nice. Which I guess will be when a certain place freezes over! So until Those Girls go away, I’m toyless. Oh, and did I mention my girl has a job and is living with us until she has to go back to school next semester, which I understand isn’t until next year. Snort!!!

Miz Macy- I’m sure your pretty little neck is just as sweet as the rest of you. I would offer you some of our rain, but you would have to come here to get it, and I’m not sure that its proper to invite such a lady as you without an escort to mind.
Rio – did your friend talk to them young’uns about that insurance thing? I sure do hope that this rental is gonna work out for y’all.
Miz Rebecca – your sentiments for the wedding touched this old hound dog’s heart. Such purty words. I wouldn’t have come up with anything better than “Sow much to love”.

Mr. Redbone: I’m so surprised OTAS and F picked Rebecca’s over yours!

Well, it’s almost midnight here, so Mom says I have to turn off the computer so she can get to the tire place early. Tomorrow’s her late day at the library, so she’s hoping if she gets to the tire store when they open, she’ll have time to get her new tires put on the car before she has to go to work. Maybe she’ll even get finished early enough that she can come back home and let me on the computer for awhile. If not, I’ll see y’all when I can!
Good night!
