Readers Theater
“You participated in a Readers Theater presentation at the Texas Library Assoc. Conf.?” Admin says.
“Yes,” says Spence. “Kind of fun, and the audience seemed to enjoy it.”
“Meaning no one threw anything?”
“Correct.”

Have a fantastic Friday!

I’m wondering what the presentation was about. Readers Theater…interesting.
Good morning all.
10:01 am on April 17th, 2015
Good morning. I wonder what a Readers Theater is? We are sure that OFA had a grand time with it with his sense of humor.
Alas, the rain has returned here. Hoping for a better weekend as we have a show tomorrow. Indoors, but bad weather keeps people away.
10:08 am on April 17th, 2015
Good Day Everyone.
Friday already? So Much to Do. So Little Time.
Back to the (Dungeon) Garage.

Good morning all. Good luck with the show tomorrow T & G.
Bear, Your Nana and her sister will have such a feeling of accompolishment when the garage cleaning is done.
We also were wondering about a Readers Theater.
At the office again. This 2 day a week job seems to be becoming a 3 day a week job. Barb told her boss that she will not work full time!

Good morning. We have showers here too, but tomorrow should be nice. We hope that is true for the Royal ‘Rents as well.
Thanks for that link, Bee. We were wondering about Readers Theatre too.
10:57 am on April 17th, 2015
Ok, now we get the Readers Theater thing. How fun would it be to be doing Chet?
Barb – remember when Mama worked for the Crazy Lady? That started as a “part time” too. But at least you like your boss. And he isn’t crazy.

Good Morning All–I’m about to go pour forth wisdom and knowledge (or at least talk about economics) and wanted to check in witchall first. those of you with rain, know that I envy you, and stay warm and dry. Conan continues to improve thanks to daycare under the quilt, and I’m hoping for a wonderful day for ALL of us.
Be well, everyone.

1:32 pm on April 17th, 2015
Diane, Please know that, after seeing pictures of what you are going thru, we here are extremely grateful for our rain.
2:39 pm on April 17th, 2015
Bee, We apologize for misspelling “through”.
2:52 pm on April 17th, 2015
Zoe, every once in a while, you’ve just got to say,”What the hay!”
Diane, gald that Conan is doing better BUT,beware, he may become a card shark if he stays around Tenzig much longer!
2:52 pm on April 17th, 2015
Howlers: You’re making me laugh.
Zoe: I’ve been cleaning up the garden and I’m finding that it’s not as easy as it used to be. Sigh….
3:03 pm on April 17th, 2015
Ve vill never admit get older.
But ve are consider cut down on spike heels vhen on missions.
3:12 pm on April 17th, 2015
Natasha: LOL! Have you ever wondered who designed spike heels? And then there are pointed toes….
3:42 pm on April 17th, 2015
My heels are not spiked and my toes are not pointed. In fact, I am rather perfect.
4:06 pm on April 17th, 2015
Vould you believe high heels vere invented by Catherine Medici?
4:22 pm on April 17th, 2015
Natasha, In keeping with an international theme, perhaps you could try Cuban stacked heels. Graceful height with a bit more support.
4:49 pm on April 17th, 2015
Meashka – T.C. is perfect. You are still a dog.
5:40 pm on April 17th, 2015
And Herb Cats, you are now blacklisted.
Heh Heh Heh!
5:51 pm on April 17th, 2015
Mom is now on to us.

And, by the way, today is the birthday of the most beautiful equine in the world: Psy Ann! Mom got her a chocolate glazed donut. Shhh it’s a surprise.
6:33 pm on April 17th, 2015
Howlers – jeez, dawgs, why did you have to spill the beans on us? Now Mama says that we are only gazing adoringly at whatever it is she is eating.
But since you are blacklisting those Wrotten Kats, we will forgive you.
And once PsyAnn has her donut – please tell her Happy Birthday from us!
6:34 pm on April 17th, 2015
Here’s a link to the history of the high heel. More info than you ever wanted to know but it is interesting.

Greetings!
Ahem! Yesterday, a long,bone-shaped package arrived at my door.
A bone? I have no dog. But since I have constant pain in my lower teeth, I thought, “a bone might be a good thing” since chewing relieves the pain.
Curious, I took the package in. I noticed that while there was a return address, there was no name. I carefully opened the package, and to my delight found a decorative flag of two of my favorite cartoon characters, Snoopy and Woodstock!
I want to thank the unknown sender(s)for this thoughtful and kind gesture.
While I have suspicions of who the sender(s) might be, I am still looking for clues….
6:53 pm on April 17th, 2015
Bee – we read that article – lots of info, but still interesting. Especially the part about the butchers’ high heels. ewwww
Rose – we were the recipients of an incredible package of goodies too. Absolutely made our day around here. Glad you got such a wonderful present. But clues….well, mums the word.
tee hee

T&G, you naughty corgis!
7:26 pm on April 17th, 2015
Maskers!….Just so you know we here are watching the very last Justified show while waiting for our burgers to be cooked just right…sob!sob!sob!…But, hey! Yea to the burgers!…snort!

I’ve enjoyed hearing from our Natasha (who may have some dating advice for our ML).
A dreary, cold morning has turned into an afternoon with intermittent sunshine. This is good because I’ve been such a slug and my house is at “critical mass” and needs tending to. Sunshine helps my mood and energy.
Garfield, the 22 pound cat has a new owner who will pick him up tomorrow. Mr. Big has a adoption visit here at the Hobbit Hotel sometime this weekend (they wanted Garfield but will consider Mr. Big.). I am taking Blossom and the blind Mr. Magoo to the adoption clinic Sat and Sun. I love each of them but want them to find good, forever homes.
Monday night we are trapping 5 feral cats in Willow (on the same road as our favorite musher), and getting them spayed on Tuesday and returning them Tuesday night. The guy lives in a small trailer with no running water with 18 indoor cats and 11 outdoor cats. Cat rescue groups for over a year have been helping getting them all fixed and helping with food and litter. I have mixed emotions about this. No one should be feeding 29 cats. No one should have 18 indoor cats especially since he is their “owner” and not finding homes for them. He lives at poverty level himself (a couple of people in my rescue group have taken him human food). Supposedly he loves these cats but it seems like a hoarder situation.
7:48 pm on April 17th, 2015
CHobbit, you have a point! The emotion is there but it seems the common sense is somewhat lacking.
7:53 pm on April 17th, 2015
Too cold here today. Lake Dreary (Erie) usually has the ice gone April 1st when the ice boom is removed so the ice can go down the Niagara River and over Niagara Falls. Well, I looked at my February calendar with Loulou and Sammie and see it’s April 17 and the ice is still here. The weather forecast said 64 degrees except near the lake it’s 47! I’m near the lake! I had to wear a ski hat to take a walk.
7:58 pm on April 17th, 2015
Hobbit – thank you from all the furry ones here, for all you do for these homeless little ones.
It does sound like the man is a hoarder, but the local shelter probably figures it is easier to enable than fix. Too many issues going on.
MPM – ummm, we may wait til later in the summer to come visit you. It DOES get to be summer there at some point, doesn’t it?
8:02 pm on April 17th, 2015
It was a lovely, leisurely birthday ride, followed by a nice birthday party. Annie loved her donut and we loved our treats.
8:05 pm on April 17th, 2015
We have groups here that trap feral cats, neuter them and release. It seems to be a better solution, because if you simply remove them, new unfixed cats come into the space and then multiply. I think it is called a TNR program.
I never knew there was so much social/sexual/historical information about high heels. Wow, who knew! Makes sense that men would think this a way to confine and control women. Better then the bound feet of the Chinese women before the early 1900s.
8:06 pm on April 17th, 2015
Happy Birthday PsyAnn!
8:07 pm on April 17th, 2015
Vacation for my mom! A weekend, a school week, another weekend! She is all mine! Now, if the rest of the snow would melt, all will be perfect.
8:08 pm on April 17th, 2015
T&G: I found the info about the butcher’s high heels interesting also. And the people in the Middle Ages wearing high heels to avoid street “debris.”
8:12 pm on April 17th, 2015
Barb: The “control” aspect is interesting. I think I already knew that. Heels and mini-skirts…. Sigh.
8:18 pm on April 17th, 2015
Yes, the butcher aspect was something else we didn’t know, and it brought about a very graphic image. And what about the French king that actually had rules that no one could wear heels higher than his? Come on!
8:25 pm on April 17th, 2015
Flats!…Yeeep!…Everyone around here wears flat sensible s-hoes. My friend is still wearing Grandma’s sho-es….snorkel!….It is amazing what a little sh-oe polish can do….heh!heh!…Even Beau and I have flat paws…sniff!
8:26 pm on April 17th, 2015
After Nick and Nora enjoy a Manhattan (shaken to fox-trot time), we will be investigating the mysterious Snoopy and Woodstock flag case.
8:27 pm on April 17th, 2015
Jazzie!…We played kissey face thru the fence with ole Jazzie…snorkel!…She is Floyd the Wood Carver’s gal…heh!…She is as stiff as she is fat, but always wants a few pug kisses…chuffle!
8:28 pm on April 17th, 2015
Cards!…And a lovely post-card was received today….snort!…This birthday just keeps reaping rewards!…guffle!
8:29 pm on April 17th, 2015
RIO! Your team is in first place in their division. Unfortunately, I can not say that for my team. The Rays have just taken the lead away from the Yankees. sob, sob, sob
8:31 pm on April 17th, 2015
Another home run for the Rays. Time for meds and bed.
Good evening to all!
8:48 pm on April 17th, 2015
King Louis XIV was Absolute Ruler. I always enjoy that portrait of him.
8:49 pm on April 17th, 2015
Rio – thank you for not giving Natasha puggy kisses through fence. Vould smear lipstick.
8:59 pm on April 17th, 2015
B&M&L The only things missing at “Miss Julia Throws a Wedding” are 3 rings and a calliope! Funny, funny, funny and mom is chuckling.
9:01 pm on April 17th, 2015
Louis XIV had the “hunting lodge” of Versailles expanded into the palace it is today. (It’s beautiful.) He made the aristocracy live there and that is how he controlled them. Interesting history.

Rio: Since when did you start wearing lipstick? There’s no judgement. We’re just curious. Heh.
9:08 pm on April 17th, 2015
HRH B, thank you for the High Heel info today. Reinforces some costuming class info from theatre classes. Interesting.

9:24 pm on April 17th, 2015

9:44 pm on April 17th, 2015
HOH, I think this third book in the series is the one we like best so far.
Nighty night.
9:49 pm on April 17th, 2015
Rio: I’ll try to catch up on Allegiance this weekend.
9:53 pm on April 17th, 2015
Stover!…You will not be disappointed…snort! ….I do not know where you stopped, but get through the introduction episodes and then it really takes off!…Woooo!
9:56 pm on April 17th, 2015
Rio: I think I saw the first two or three episodes. I’ll check it out.
Night all.
9:57 pm on April 17th, 2015
Bee – we must include Versailles on our tour of Europe and Asia.
Mama will eschew spike heels for the journey, and will try HOH’s suggestion of Cuban heels. ( we had to look that one up)
Bedtime now, show time in the am.
G’ night, family.
9:57 pm on April 17th, 2015
Rio – we loved Justified and were so pleased they ended it the way they did. As you said, class acts all around. We’ll miss it. Somehow Mr. Selfridge isn’t quite as…exciting?
Enjoy your weekend, Everybody.
10:00 pm on April 17th, 2015
Blu-Kat!….snort!….Nothing can compare to Justified in the true Kentucky-Hills-Hillbilly-Marshal sort of way….heh!heh!…Lordy, I am going to miss all those hillbillies so very much….sniff!
10:40 pm on April 17th, 2015
Nighty night, all.
10:45 pm on April 17th, 2015
I agree the ending to Justified was wonderful, and completely unexpected. I expected lots of blood.
A Catty Librarian is in town and we 3 sisters are working hard packing. My
surveyor son will be coming into town shortly. A U haul will be brought in tomorrow and loaded up. Then it will be over for the Western contingent. We will head to Bellingham via Missoula, Montana. Staff and Mr Fireslippers will stay a couple more days.
I most likely won’t be posting for a few days while we drive cross country.
10:57 pm on April 17th, 2015
Dawson!…Beau will be saying safe-driving prayers for you for the next few days…snort!…Safe travels my friend.
11:13 pm on April 17th, 2015
Endings!…Season ending for Better Call Saul…snuff!…Now, those of youse who watch this show can you please tell me why Jimmy choose to take the road less traveled?…yeeep!..I was waiting for a monumental event to push him to the dark-side and I did not see it…gasp!…What am I missing? What didn’t I see?…yeeep!…No jimmy, No! Bad lawyer….sniff!
11:20 pm on April 17th, 2015
Gift!…I received the most amazing gift – the full 6 seasons of Breaking Bad on DVD…YEEEEEP!…Amazed and so thankful. I mean, this represents some of the best writing in Television ever. EVER! Seriously…snort!…I love that in NO WAY do they glorify the drug dealings of low-lifes… but they show the nitty-grit of what that life is if one is so damned stupid to go anywhere near that life-style…yeeep!
11:38 pm on April 17th, 2015
Rocks!…The Rockies are playing the Dodgers tonight. Usually this is an exciting day, but both teams are wearing the same colored outfits – at least to me…gah!…It is making it very hard for me to tell one player from another so I am headed up to my cool soft bed where all my toys and Beau’s toys are in just the right places…heh!
