Reader Question
Yesterday Hobbit asked:
“Have your books been translated into other languages? If so, who is responsible to make sure the translation is true to the books and yet conveyed in a way that takes in cultural differences that might impede understanding?”
Great question. My books have been translated into quite a number of languages but the true to the books part is based on trust alone. In other words – no one is responsible! Occasionally I get an email from a translator asking for clarification on something. Here is the Russian cover of Paws Vs. Claws (I think), the most recent in my middle-grade Queenie and Arthur series. Bark Vs. Snark comes out in Oct.

Morning all!
Mom loved Hobbit’s question yesterday and liked OFA sharing the international cover.
Mom was sleeping on the phone so we didn’t get to say hey to Molly Pops mom.
A special Saturday to all and goodness August is almost gone.

Trust means no one is responsible. So therefore, trust is one of our core values.
WATP: We think we stubbled onto a new defense, “Your honor, trust my clients.”
Rio: We will continue fo decode tales of valor and optimize photos for youse. Wheeze!

Stumbled, not stubbed. Damn typos. Forgive us, for we are trusted.

That is very cool! We can’t read Russian but it looks interesting. We also like that the cover art stayed the same.

I was testing last week to see if my name and email stayed like they used to in the old days. Nope, they disappeared. So, anyway, here’s Loulou and Beanie.
With my failing eyesight, Facebook is easier to post on because I don’t have to fill out a form first.

I am so amazed and pleased that OFA answered my question. I wonder if the British editions are different from our American ones? British words have different meanings and uses. (The Harry Potter books are different between the two countries). The next time I am in the UK I will try and buy a book and find out–and report back to all of youse.
M-Pop and LL’s Mom: what a great photo. It looks like the dog is in control of the cat. How is that possible?

Thieves!…I may or may not be up to to the task of sorting out photos and commenting on how great those Tree Hot Shots were tonight. The heat wave has lifted and it is sooooo nice outside….snort!….We may be out there for quite a long time later just enjoying summer finally…wheeze!

Rio: yes it is an honor to have a question answered by OFA. However, he has ignored all my nominations including having your Friend be one of his manuscript readers. Oh well, at least I tried.
That dog and cat photo would never happen in my house, I can tell you that. I have read that some cats and dogs sleep and cuddle together but I have never seen it in person myself. I wonder if there was catnip and treaties involved?
Thieves: if we can’t trust lovable miscreants, life would be so boring and drab.

Hobbit!…I think The Charming Mr. Abrahams has professionals looking at his transcripts all the time…snort!…Although me and my friend have found spelling errors in some of his earlier novels…heh!heh!,,,He does not need me critiquing his work, I’m sure. But if the call came, I would be there in a blurred second!!!…chorkel!
