Anyhoo, What is it about some people and directions? There is a time to ask for directions and a time not to! Like when yo are on the road to GET to a particular place and a PARTICULAR time. That’s a good time to ask for directions. Or if you have to put something together and don’t want a lot of parts left over.
Now I confess that I do have times when I get lost. But that is on purpose. I love to go on car trips with Patsy and just go down every country road we find. Eventually, I’ll find some place I know and I’ll come home.
I won’t tell you about the time I was in Green Valley, AZ and decided to take a back road back to my Aunt’s and ended up in Mexico. I had an excuse though. There was no one of whom I could ask directions until I hit the border. The guards were nice.
But I won’t tell you about that time.
And l certainly won’t tell you about the other time!

Matisse’s birthday! That reminds me that our museum had some toys made by Calder (mobile artist) They were cool. Pus and Pull toys that did not act like regular ones. Then someone had made some like his toys and we got to play with them.

Happy New Year’s Eve, everybody!! After a very hectic work week, Mom is taking today to rest and catch up. We have loved all the cards and picures everyone has put up. We are leaving all the Christmas decorations up until next weekend. The house is beautiful and it makes Mom smile to walk around and look at everything.
We will have to check with SiberH later in the week to learn just what we need to do to follow AJ in his race next weekend. It was super cool to see all of our names listed on the official Iditarod site. Big race is coming soon. Rio, are you ready to head north to Alaska??

Whew, stuffed here. Dinner? Steamed jumbo shrimp with Remoulade Sauce! Yummers. Then I had made a crock pot concoction of carrots, apples, onions, stock butter and brown sugar. That turned out much better than it sounds.

T&G: Bookworm is a word game that you play on the computer. It has tiles with letters and you have to make words with tiles that are contiguous. Similar to Scrabble, each tile is worth an amount (some have no amounts) and that is how you score. Red tiles start at the top and if they get to the bottom the game is over so you try to make words with them before they reach the bottom. My best score is three million plus but lately I haven’t been making high scores.

This is a strange evening for watching movies. None of us re watching happy movies. We just watched Fail Safe on the TCM channel. A very good movie, but it is still scary.
Barb, I remember the guy who got caught in the slot canyon and sawed off his hand. Mom read the book but never wanted to see the movie. The movie is suppose to be very well done.

Hey Rio and everyone else. Sounds like you had a grand time with Beelle Star and Luna. We are having a quiet (and dry, no bath, thank dog) night here in Chevy Chase. Just watching some videos, like Magnum PI (grandpa likes that) and maybe a Foyle’s War after that. Everyone have a wonderful New Years and hoping for a terrific 2012 for all. Wookie

Foyles War!….That series has a special place in our hearts because she got the whole series from the Library when she was out of work…snort!….Watching those shows took the edge off being out of work at least while she was watching them….sniff!…What a great memory there Wookie, thanks!…heh!….And Happy New Year to you and yours.

Siber, Yes it was well done, and Aaron, who they showed at the end still hikes and is still a “canyoneer”, but now he always tells someone where he is going. He got caught on Saturday and would not have been reported missing till the following Wednesday, so he was in deep dodo. There were a few moments where Barb could not watch.

We have a bottle of sham-pagne in the freezer, and some puff pastry thingies ready to throw in the oven in a little while.
We are having a great time here – had a long phone call with a friend of ours – sharing wishes for great things to happen in the New Year. And Mama threw our blankies in the wash, so we start the new year with snuggled up in our snuggly, clean beds.

Nilla Wafer and butter crust. Banana custard, bananas, more custard, more bananas, still more custard, freshly whipped cream, topped with dark chocolate shavings dusted with powdered sugar, with a sprig of spearmint, sitting in a presentation of caramel sauce. That’s all.
I just had a call from a VIP. Sorry I can’t say who. Very hush-hush.
Barb and Maggie, the picture was sometime in the early-nineties.
Angie would have a stroke if she knew I had posted that.
