Random Amazon Review We Like

Very lightening. Good for the soul. Thank you Spencer Quinn for your stories. I have several of his recordings and relisten to them when I need some “happy.” – Beep52 on Dog On It.

Gooood morning, everyone. Sounds like Beep52 likes OFA. Just peeking out from under the quilt to say that yesterday felt like an Arlo Guthrie day (for those of you who might have a bit more life experience). I was inspected, injected, detected and neglected. BBL šŸ™‚

BStover: You know, like lightening or heavyening.

HOH: Peeking only. Stay where you are.

Sunflowers and tomatoes report. Out of the zillion sunflower seeds I planted only two survived the bunnies. The largest and most magnificent of the two succumbed to the storm. The stem was broke off about a meter below the flower head.(sob) I have brought in inside and into water in hopes the flower may actually bloom. The miniature sunflowers that I bought at the farmer’s market were excellent because they got multiple blooms. But they only lasted about a day before the flower petals were picked off and eaten, the middles also eaten or the whole flower plucked and carried away by birds, squirrels and maybe bunnies.
The tomatoes are prolific. My favorites (the Paul Robesons are not quite ready yet) are the little yellow cherry tomatoes called “sungold”. Yummy.

Good morning. We didn’t quite get the lightening either.

Hope you are felling better today Sharon.

Dawson, the Paul R tomatoes will always have green shoulders, even when they are ripe. We check the bottoms for color and softness. The very top just gets cut off and discarded.

Sorry to hear about your wind damage. Is the fallen tree getting cleaned up?

Speaking of reviews…there’s a good one over on the right.
Dawson: Sunflowers are the most magnificent of flowers. Sorry to hear of the demise of your best. That must have been some storm!
Tomatoes plants here are bent over like old crones with fruit tiny and green, but we have high hopes.
    Now…off to get wonderfluffed…BBL

And this one is today. I took it because of the talk of sunflowers. Mr.Staff planted some and the squirrels planted others.

The Squirrel planted ones are taller and ugly. They are known as ‘oilers’ around here. The shorter ones have multiple heads with a pretty dark center and are only supposed to get 2 feet tall. They are about 3 feet really. They are a floral variety that seduced Mr.Staff with the picture on the cover of the seed packet. He likes flowers with big blooms. He is trying to talk me into Dahlia’s. I will stick to the Zinnia’s.

Mollypop’s Mom: That is a lovely peony.

My Mom’s Rhododendron Tree is under the big Maple that is down in our front yard. I don’t see how it can survive. Turtleman is looking for a friend with a chain saw so something might be done today.

It has started sprinkling so I decided to wait on yard work.

When she gets to Alaska and finds me instead of all that gear, she won’t mind a bit. You see, I am very good at keeping her warm without any help from her gear.

Great posts, Melanie. Love the flowers, and Here Spot is funny!

Since we are doing flowers today, here is a picture of the front flower bed that Barb did this summer. Had old bushes torn out of the front and planted a combo of perennials and annuals. We added the petunias for an extra punch of color. One of the petunias has about 50 flowers on it!

Today I got 4 more envelopes back in the mail. Two from Barb & Maggie (one with a forward stamp), one from Steve (Go Tigers!), and one from Mollypop’s Mom (with Mollypop stamps with her fierce poufy tail!!). Thank you. It is so interesting to see all the different postmark stamps. Even the ones which I sent out all at the same time have different postmark stamps, some of them quite lousy. I also received an envelope from Spencer Quinn but he was given too much advice on what and how to send the envelope back that he got confused and sent me a business card instead. Heh, heh. I love it. Thank you SQ. See you in Alaska? I’ll go if you go.

Dawson, That is quite a promise. If Spence goes, you will go? We are going to hold you to that!

Rosenfelt’s book is really good. It is partially about making their move from California to Maine with 25 dogs, 3 RV’s and 11 volunteers, but he also writes about some of the 300 dogs they have had as pets in the last 20 years. They have rescued and placed about 4,000 dogs, but many were not considered highly adoptable, so they simply kept them. I think I see some of David in Andy Carpenter, and some of his wife Debbie in Andy’s long term girlfirend, Laurie. The book is written in typical Rosenfelt style, which is to say very comical at times.

    Greetings from show land.
First day is always a little slow, but we still ended up with a pretty good day. We are feeling blessed for a couple of reasons:
1.Our booth is the first one as one enters the show, and the sunlight coming in the glass ceiling makes our booth just glow,
    2. This is an Native American museum, so many of the customers coming to the museum are already predisposed to Indian items- no sales pitch needed,
    3. The gift shop at the museum has not been very successful, and therefore is not well stocked. And we are. Viola! Customers shop with US after visiting the museum.

The Hawaiian group is wonderful. The is songs are lovely and their two dancers move as gracefully as water rippling into shore.

And tomorrow – the museum cafe is featuring antelope burgers. Can’t wait to try them.

We enjoyed all the pics. Maya is very cute as is Sam. Gardens are lovely and Facebook photos and such are funny.
Going to bed now to be ready for another big day tomorrow.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting
my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get setup?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% certain.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
