“I love this series. Every single one of the characters and situations are so easy to picture in your mind. Started out reading the series, but love the narrator now!”

Goog morning all.

Goog morning back at ya! Someone(s) were silly last night. Life here isn’t silly so glad we have y’all to do that.

How about “Have a Winsome Wednesday”.
10:15 am on October 22nd, 2014
Before I saw your post, Barb, I was thinking wistful wednesday. I was so envious of CHobbit’s kittens and see what happens. Someone, I hesitate to say Dog, made someone else drop off kittens at my doorstep.
I have an appointment at the Vets this afternoon for the Thing one and Thing two. Yeep. Alice is going to have a conniption fit! I will not tell her. That will work.
By the way, CHobbit. I have very occasionally been affected by cats and gotten itchy and sneezey. (evidently sneezey is not a word) My sister in law’s cat did that to me. Never before or since so it might just be the chemistry of one of these litters is wrong for you.
I will let you know what the vet says about Soot and Dusty. I need names for black cats guys. I don’t know what sex yet. Maybe one of each. Mr.Staff says Captain Midnight but what about the other one?
My day has suddenly become busy. Chiropractor 20 miles one way then the ver 55 miles the other way. Lunch in between. When will I pack for the Quilt retreat starting Thursday evening???

Staff – you are to be commended.
As far as kitty names….how about Raven and Sable? Or Onyx?
We do wish someone who likes indoor kitties would adopt them. sigh…
10:53 am on October 22nd, 2014
Staff: How about Henri, le Chat Noir. (He’s a feline philosopher.)

10:53 am on October 22nd, 2014
Staff, Have you decided to keep them? I thought you had a quilter friend that was going to take them? I know you have not had “farm cats” due to your winters away.
We had a black cat years ago (before Maggie) that the kids named Damien, which I never liked – the name not the cat. He had that name only briefly, and for the rest of his 18 years he was known as Mr. Kitty. Very original, right?
11:06 am on October 22nd, 2014
Mom has several black cats with the following names:
Pancho
Lefty
Stumpy
TomTom
Boomer
EbbyCalvin
P&L were named after the Thieves!!

(from last night) Mlaiuppa still trying out book titles. heh, heh.
11:12 am on October 22nd, 2014
Those are all current black cats. There are others from earlier years, but I did not know them.
Wose, Mom finally got her check for the calendar in the mail. She has not gotten the calendar yet, but hopes it will be there this evening!

Staff, Did you notice that we contributed another $8.00 to the Bootie Fund. We did that amount so you will now have an even figure for matching, and you-know-who will stop bitchin.
11:48 am on October 22nd, 2014
Staff, you mentioned Captain Midnight. How about the Dark Avenger ?
11:52 am on October 22nd, 2014
I am afraid I have been reading every other word again. Is Mlaiuppa associated with someone else on the blog? Is he/she feline or canine? (or hamster or parrot or….)
11:59 am on October 22nd, 2014
ML: Mlaiuppa (and Ramses from Southern CA) have Posted on the Blog in the Past, but have been mostly Lurkers. As we recall, they have been to one of OFA’s signings.

BooBear: Love that two of your cats are named after the Thieves! Have to ask, does Stumpy have a stump? And, EbbyCalvin – is that a family name?
Hi Natasha!
2:03 pm on October 22nd, 2014
The Dark Avenger. OOOO One of them is much more ‘busy’ than the other one. I also like Raven and Sable or Onyx. Hmmmm
And yes, unless they test positive for feline leukemia they are staying with me. I have other sources for kittens for the quilting buddy.
Off to the Vets right after lunch.
2:04 pm on October 22nd, 2014
BARB! Bless you. I will check the bootie fund after lunch. I just got back from one errand and must eat before the next THANK YOU!
2:04 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Greetings!
BooBear: Your calendar was in the last bunch I took to the post office on Monday. According to my receipt, some calendars were scheduled for arrival on the 22nd, and some on the 23rd. there are some of youse who have not gotten a calendar yet. I have not forgotten, it is just a rainy, soggy, windy day here today, and I am too lazy to walk the mile to the PO. Those calendars will go out Saturday when Grizz can drive me. I am such a diva.
2:09 pm on October 22nd, 2014
More….
BooBear: I forgot to say that you and Gus are on the May page. I really like the pictures your mom sent.

Smart siber! 🙂
3:42 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Siber-H: That is one thing you and I have in common. I hate, hate, hate getting wet. I don’t mind getting wet in snow, though. :^)
3:51 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Wait…do Woses and Sibers melt in the rain?
3:57 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Anyone who wants to get wet in the snow can visit me today. It is about 30 degrees and snowing pretty good. I have an appointment to get a tune up and winter tires put on – tomorrow.
BStover: J’amour Henri le chat!
Staff: You have a good heart.
Our internet access keeps going off and on so if I disappear don’t worry. We got a new modem like cable company instructed us to, but that did not fix the problem.
4:01 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Dawson: What the hell is going on in Ottawa?
HOH: I’m melting……..
4:47 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Staff! We are so happy that you are going to keep those black kitties. We also hate it when people dump cats or kittens out here in farmland. But that is how T.C. arrived. The ‘rents used to have a very cool black cat. His name was Bubba. He was bow-legged, and would yell all the way as he was running home when Mom would call him. He was a very, very sweet guy. Except he would steal food at every opportunity. Once, he grabbed an entire ham steak off a serving fork, and ran into the cellar with it. And he loved popcorn. When he heard someone making it, he would position himself on the back of the sofa, right above where he knew that popcorn would be placed.
4:52 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Mom is having a bad day. She has been under the quilt for several days, with bad mouth pain. This morning, she went to the dentist, and this afternoon she went for a root canal. The doc didn’t finish, so she has to go back next month! She had a root canal last year, at the same endo place, but with a different surgeon who she liked much better. This one did not explain very well why he could not finish, and he let her sit with a tent in her mouth while he had to go out front to clear someone off the premises or something. When he finished with Mom today, he left the room immediately. Mom asked his assistant some questions, but that woman spoke to her slowly and LOUD, as if she was some deaf, elderly, senile old lady. Grump!
5:00 pm on October 22nd, 2014
O’Howlers: Tuck the quilt tight around your mom, and take good care of her. This guy who worked on her sounds like a real jerk.
5:01 pm on October 22nd, 2014
O’Howlers: Bubba sounded like a kool kat!
5:06 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Wose, you are NOT melting and Ottowa is clear across the continent from the Awesome one.
5:10 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Howlers, Barb had 2 root canals and neither could be done all in one appointment. One took 2 and one 3.
Staff we are also glad you are keeping the kitties. What happens this winter, will the travel with you to the Twin Cities?
5:10 pm on October 22nd, 2014
OH: Ditto on Bubba and we hurt just thinking about your mouth situation.
5:21 pm on October 22nd, 2014
OMD!!!! Mom just remebered a note that was with her mail, saying that there was a package that was too big to fit in the mailbox, and was put in the empty stall used for UPS, Fedex, USPS boxes. She was so tired, she didn’t want to go back up to the barn in that rainy, raw weather, but we being not-the-rain-hating kind of Sibes, we made her go up there with us. It is The Calendar! We LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Our new favorite month is June. 🙂
5:23 pm on October 22nd, 2014
O’Howlers: It appears to us some Pants Legs Need Chewing. That Endo Guy sounds like a Perp! And the stupid assistant could use a Wake-up Bark too.
5:24 pm on October 22nd, 2014
I agree with Rose. That Bubba sounds like one kool kat.
5:45 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Dawson, yes, Stumpy has a stump of a tail and LOTS of swagger. It is so cool to watch him walk. He is a very cool dude.
Ebby Calvin was named after the pitcher in Bull Durham. Mom thought it would be cool to call him Eb and people would think it would be short for Ebony since he is solid black. But it’s not….(I think Mom thought more people would know about Bull Durham. She’s so old)!!!
5:54 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Mr. Kitty was cool like Bubba. He would walk across the kitchen counter and try to grab things out of pots on the stove, making it necessary to keep things covered. Sad beginning for him too. Kelly brought him home after finding him sitting on the side of the street. His mama and the other kittens had been run over. We should have named him Lucky or Hans Solo.
One time he ran away because Kelly brought home a baby Robin and he got pissed off. A couple days later she found a dead black cat a block away and brought it home in a box and we had a funeral. We all cried and felt terrible. About 3 days later he came home, after she had released the baby Robin (he must have been watching). After the initial excitement of the homecoming, she said “OMG, who did I bury!”
6:00 pm on October 22nd, 2014
O’Howlers: I am glad you approve of the Siberpage!
6:02 pm on October 22nd, 2014
O’Howlers: I love, love, love the picture of Kat on her boat. I hope there are no Sibes strutting their stuff at home…. 🙂
6:04 pm on October 22nd, 2014
There is a mostly black cat up above named Dante.
6:14 pm on October 22nd, 2014

(Lucy Lou here) I caught my first VOLE of the season today, am I great or what? I took it to mom and laid it on the dog bed in the bedroom and wouldn’t let the other girls near it. She is so proud of my hunting skills 🙂
6:42 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Lucy Lou, what an excellent huntress you are!
6:48 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Lucy Lou – bravo, you brave girl.
We got our calendar today. It is WONDERFUL!!!
Does anyone know which puppy Rebecca is holding in the cover shot?
6:58 pm on October 22nd, 2014
(Pookey here) I stole the the chicken flavored nylabone from the other girls just now. I may have only three legs, but I am cool!
7:15 pm on October 22nd, 2014
CHobbit and Staff, check your SDD.
7:16 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Barb, I too got a chuckle out of the “who did I bury story”.
7:23 pm on October 22nd, 2014
T&G: I am so glad youse like the calendar. What did Basil and Sage think?
I think you will have to ask the Pixie which pup she is holding. When she sent the picture, I did not ask. I could never work for the Little Detective Agency……
7:24 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Pookey, you are da bomb!!!
7:32 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Ha ha! Maggie, that is a great story! Who DID she bury?
Lucy Lou, good job.
Pookey! Naughty (and cool) girl!
7:55 pm on October 22nd, 2014
I always strut.
7:59 pm on October 22nd, 2014
We never did find out WHO! But he did have a nice service. LOL
8:08 pm on October 22nd, 2014
When the Corgis put up the query about Rebecca’s puppy, they didn’t give me a chance to catch up on the blog first.
So we just read the story of the buried black kitty to Gramp and the Storyteller. There may or may not have been seltzer spurting out of certain noses. What a great story.
Many years ago, we had an adorable black kitty named “Thud”. He was born without flexible ankles, so when he jumped off a surface, you knew it. Hence the name.
He also had a kink in his tail.
He disappeared one day, and we put up posters and called him and searched for weeks. Alas, poor Thud, we knew him well. We mourned and moved on.
Sever or eight years later, a big, black kitty came strolling into the yard. He had very straight legs, and a kink in his tail. Thud had come home, but only for a visit. He stayed about an hour, got petted and fed, and then he left.
Kats are indeed mysterious critters.
And Wose – Basil and Sage think the calendar is beautiful, but Basil is pouting a little; he thinks BlueKat is gorgeous, but wants to know why HE doesn’t have his own page too. We told him he can have next Februember all to himself- that satisfied him.
(told ya, Basil isn’t the smartest kitty we have ever had….)
8:22 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Hmmmmm…..seems like next year’s calendar will need to be a much LARGER size.
Zeusikov: I she Siber strut the new dance craze?
8:23 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Basil has good taste. Bluecat is very beautiful!
8:25 pm on October 22nd, 2014
GAH! Is the Siber strut the new dance craze, Zeusikov?
8:38 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Siber-H and Rio must be watching the game…
I hear my big warm bed calling me…..
Hasta mañana!
8:40 pm on October 22nd, 2014
I read what you thought your wrote Rose. That happens a lot on the blog.
OK Here’s the news
They are 8-9 weeks old so we don’t give them shots until next week when we are sure they are old enough.
The have internal parasites, but not worms, so they are getting medicine for that.
They have ear mites so we get to give them medicine for that
Thing one, the female, has an eye infection so we are giving her eye drops several times a day and cleaning her eye with a warm wet cloth before the drops.
If it spreads to her other eye or to the other cat we give them drops too.
They can’t be tested for feline leukemia until they are another month old so we have to keep them separate from Alice and Abbie until then.
And about three days after that we leave for Minneapolis with all FOUR cats!
Oh NO! What was I thinking.
Oh gosh they are so cute.
I haven’t had dinner yet so I will catch up with other things later.
I STILL HAVEN’T PACKED FOR THE QUILT RETREAT THAT STARTS TOMORROW!
8:50 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Packing!…I know from experience that packing for a trip takes a ton of time….snort!…So Staffie, you better get packing!…wheeze!
8:51 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Game!…Is on! And things are looking up this time…heh!heh!…The pitcher is amazing. We remember him during the playoffs…gasp!

Staff – you are a softie after our own heart.
Now, quit reading the blog, and go pack!

Bruise!….Awwwww shucks! SiberH’s maw should never have gotten that dastardly shot during the World Series…grump!…My friends bruise is finally, maybe starting to lighten a little one month later…gah!
Tagged!…HA! The Royals just tagged the hell out of a Giant…snort!…His hat even flew off. Love it!…chorkel!

9:45 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Rio – not being baseballs fans, it gave us a very funny mental image when you said the Royals tagged a Giant hard enough to knock his hat off.
We could just see a Stormy Kromer flying through the air, while AJ was tripped up by a pack of yipping Corgis.
9:56 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Tupper!…In yer dreams pal, in yer dreams…heh!heh!…No one trips The Giant up…chuffle!

All the Kat histories today were fun reading. Does A. Catty have some good stories about me? I think I am just an ordinary Kat who comes when she whistles and follows her around when she’s home. Oh-and I give her massages if she lays underneath my wooly sheepskin.
10:05 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Elliot!…You should start thinking about charging for 15 minute intervals of massage…snort!…Then send that money to Snowhook as a donation. This is exactly why Beau gamboles so much, all for the sake of donations he is not aware of…heh!heh!
10:06 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Staff, we have a black cat here named Betty, if that’s any help.
10:17 pm on October 22nd, 2014
DDD: I’ve never seen Staff or Mr. Fireslippers play crib.
Royals: I can picture the scene at 9:45 clearly!
10:36 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Royals!…They are on FIRE tonight just as I suspected they would be…WOOOOO!… Speaking of fire, the HotShot was nay-saying the Royals chances of winning since they “lost the first game”….grump!…Well my friend was having none of that and told him to watch out cuz the Royals have blazed through the play-offs to this point. Plus her and I can relate to a team who never gets to the play-offs, none the less the World Series….heh!heh!
10:49 pm on October 22nd, 2014
Well, rumor has it that the DDD will be in Anchorage this March (again) and looking for suckers…er.. partners. Y’all hear that! OK

RIO! What the eff? Why does your friend still have a bruise on her arm?
