5.0 out of 5 stars Dogs are smarter than we think! November 14, 2013.
Larry Reese on The Sound and the Furry:
I love all of these books. I can picture Chet (the Jet) doing everything and love his commentary! It gave me a new insight in how dogs “think.”

Good morning, everyone! We take exception to using “think” in those marks. We think all the time, just not like 2 leggers!
May today be a celebratory Saturday: Texas Meet & Greet, Nana closer to home by the minute, Smoochers holding down, er… helping those who need it, OH’s egg and more. Turkey day is getting closer.
9:12 am on November 16th, 2013
Good morning! Nice review by Larry.
Mom and Pop went shopping before dinner for 2 items. They did not get either of those (on order) but instead came home with 2 pairs each of Smart Wool long johns and new Patagonia very light weight, but super warm jackets. Alaska !!!!!!
Beautiful, misty morning here on the farm.

Nice review.
Howlers: What a wonderful photo!
Staff: I really like the picture of the rainbow.
Good morning all.
9:52 am on November 16th, 2013
Staff, have you checked out the area of that “rainbow”? It reminds me of “Under the Dome”. Do not touch it!
10:02 am on November 16th, 2013
Good morning Herd of Hounds, O’Howlers and B.Stover, I am up early because I am going to take a break from packing and go quilting today. HooRAY!
I like that rainbow also MzB.
Alice is sitting on the counter and she is in a miff. Evidently the water this morning is not up to her standards. She pawed it off the counter onto the rag rug. When she does that she wants it changed. Since it was nice fresh filtered water (Alice has high standards) it is not being changed. The standard practice when she hip checks it off the counter is no more water. She is very annoyed with us.
10:04 am on November 16th, 2013
Macy’s Mom. I do not know about “Under the Dome” What will happen if we touch it? Maybe I don’t want to know?
10:35 am on November 16th, 2013
Good morning all.
Howlers – that is a lovely picture indeed. We do love fall….if only winter wasn’t so close behind.
Staff – marvelous rainbow picture. We didn’t have many here this summer, so each one is even more breathtaking.
We should be sitting under Mama’s work table, holding her feet down so she gets things done – but, but, but – it is just so beautiful outside. We may have to go on an adventure.
10:37 am on November 16th, 2013
Oh, and we want you to know that Melanie is starting to be Melanie again. We think she will be back soon – and then you have to ask her about the 12 Days (and Nightmares) of Christmas.
10:45 am on November 16th, 2013
We loved the rainbow. Find the end…there could be a pot of gold..or an egg?
It is chore Saturday so we’ll be outdoors helping all day.
10:56 am on November 16th, 2013
We think mom has lost her mind. She is sitting on the floor with rags, pink gloves and a green bucket that has a strange aroma. And what is she doing? Washing all of the artwork we have so diligently spread over the past two (or more) years. We ask you, is this any way to spend a Saturday morning?
11:22 am on November 16th, 2013
HOH – NO!!! Better get out into the fishpond and bring in some new “fingerpainting” before she destroys your whole art gallery
We happen to know for a fact that two-leggeds LOVE big, muddy pawprints all over everything.
((((giggle)))))!
11:53 am on November 16th, 2013
Herb cars: And everyone! I, the darling, decorating Darah just came in from the muddy yard with not only a brown nose but muddy footsies. I have left “follow paths” on the floor, mud mom sat on (she’ll find it later), and kissed her head with muddy lips. A great day. Does it get any better?
12:38 pm on November 16th, 2013
Greetings!
It is a slothy Saturday here at home.
Beautiful rainbow picture!
Howlers: The farm looks beautiful in the morning mist. Dare I say that in the right corner by the tree! I see Chet?
I hope everyone under the quilt is close to being tip-top.
AJ: BE STILL. DO NOT BUILD ANOTHER LITTLE CABIN IN THE WOODS.
Somehow, I can picture AJ looking like Gulliver in the cartoon GULLIVER’S TRAVELS, with all the dogs holding him down on either side with rope. Feel better soon!
Have fun, you Texas Two-Steppers!
I can’t wait for Nana to come home!!

Is our refresh button not working?
Hellooooooo. Where is everyone today?
3:29 pm on November 16th, 2013
We’ve been thinking the same thing! Sure was fun watching mom wash art away all day. Don’t tell her but we are planning an art surprise! Haven’t heard from Rio today and Staff should be home soon, so…where is Dawson? Not worried about Barb & Maggie or Macy’s mom. Just hope they had FUN.
3:34 pm on November 16th, 2013
Beautiful day here in Anchorage: 23 degrees– brisk but clear, blue skies. I do a lot better when the sun is shining. I seem to drag around on cloudy days. Sadie and I just got back from our walk and I have the deck door open for some fresh air. Now to tackle the house. The roads should be better with the colder temperatures so I might tackle some outside errands tomorrow.
4:50 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hello All,
Thank you very much for your concern. Training continues on though we’re at a slower pace. Too much snow for four wheeler training and not quite enough for sleds. We’ve spent the last 24 hours trading off teams using the snowmachine and heading off onto the trails. Next week we head to the Denali Highway and really get things under way.

5:03 pm on November 16th, 2013
Woo Hoo AJ! We like the new slogan.
5:04 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hey! This blog is a ghost town! Grizz and I did some driving around.
AJ, like the message! Is this on your sledding gear? If not, it should be. heh!
5:23 pm on November 16th, 2013
A skull and crossed swords? Meaning…?
5:27 pm on November 16th, 2013
HRH B: Isn’t that a Jolly Roger? We like it. And, yes, Rose it ghost town like here, was yesterday, too. Just ask Rio, oops, he is MIA.
5:28 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hi AJ!! Take good care of yourself. I like the skull and crossed swords and the slogan.
We are looking forward to hearing about the get-together in Texas.
Nana is going home on Monday!!!
5:29 pm on November 16th, 2013
We have been busy all day. The beans are getting cut today, so hunting opportunities abound. The ‘rents are doing pizza night since they missed it last night, but we howlers have discovered the Hunter Moon lighting up that bean field. AWOOOOOO !!!!!!
5:30 pm on November 16th, 2013
We like the slogan, AJ, and agree with Rose that it would be great on the sled! How bad is your rib?
5:55 pm on November 16th, 2013
The traditional Jolly Roger flag has a skull and crossed bones.
5:57 pm on November 16th, 2013
…and, of course, it signals danger.
5:58 pm on November 16th, 2013
Jolly!…Rodger!…snort!…I always love hearing from The Giant on this here blog. I’m not completely pawsitive, but it sounds like he is not taking it too easy right now…grunt!…Denali Highway coming up!…snort!
5:59 pm on November 16th, 2013
Howlers!….That is an amazing foto!…Wow!
6:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
HOH likes the “Keep Calm and Plunder On”. Can we teach it to our 2 leggers? (Can we teach anything to our 2 leggers?)
6:12 pm on November 16th, 2013
Yeeep!….We are downstairs watching an episode of “Dracula”…gah!….It is very well done – but it always makes me leap straight up in the air…wheeze!
6:13 pm on November 16th, 2013
Those girls will not come in. Poor Mom and Pop.
Hobbit: We had a beautiful day in the 50s. We can’t imagine Mom opening windows or doors for the 20s. It mist be a matter of perspective, but how on earth is she going to survive Alaska?
6:31 pm on November 16th, 2013
FYI: Denali Highway (if I remember correctly) is a 135 mile gravel highway that is only open in the summer. It is not maintained in the winter. The state has offered to pave it but the residents don’t want the additional traffic it would bring. It is supposed to have spectacular views. I’ve never traveled it because I would fear for my windshield which gets enough dings from pebbles as it is.
It would be a perfect area for some training runs.
P.S. I think if AJ tapes his ribs or wraps them, the one cracked rib will be fine. I trust that he knows what he is doing and is not jeopardizing anything.
6:36 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dima!….My friend has the opposite problem. Me and Beau will not go outside unless we are tricked, she gives us treats, or she threatens our lives….heh!heh!
6:53 pm on November 16th, 2013
Stover!…Are you upset with me?…sniff!sniff!…I swear I did not poop on your lawn…wheeze!
6:54 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dima: Tell your ‘rents layers, layers and more layers. I bought some Smart Wool tights at A Catty Librarian’s suggestion and I love them. I wish I’d bought two pairs. Pricey but so warm. I am worth it. 100% merino wool. (Whoa! Almost posted a comma splice. Caught myself just in the nick of time.)
I’ve been at the Christmas craft fair selling crafts and baking to support the long term care this morning and afternoon.
I’ve also signed up to volunteer time for the senior’s housing association, the senior’s activity society and the Historical Society so suddenly I am very busy. I am looking at taking a class or two at the local college. Maybe.
Beautiful picture from O’Howlers and last night’s rainbow was very nice too.
It is definitely winter here with 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground.
7:04 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…Busy!…sniff!…You sound like my friend. She is a busy, busy person, what with Christmas coming up and orders out the ying-yang for quilling…wheeze!…But the weather is very nice here right now so she is finding it hard to sit inside and roll paper….grunt!…Needless to say she harnessed us up this afternoon and we all went on the longest walk we have done since Beau’s bad knee incident…grump!…He is in fine shape now and proved it today by not limping at all…gruffle!
7:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hockey has finally started in Buffalo. Tonight the Sabres play the leafs in Toronto. We may not win of course we still got the same team just new management but this time it will be fun to watch. Finally.
7:12 pm on November 16th, 2013
Sammie!…I wish I could watch some Hockey with you tonight…grunt!…I do not think the Avalanche are playing tonight. Good thing after getting beaten up (literally) by St Lewie….grump!
7:27 pm on November 16th, 2013
HEH B: The identical Jolly Roger to the one used by the pirate “Calico Jack Rackham is the one that AJ posted.
By the way, is there anyway to slow that man down a bit for a couple of weeks?
Not much hockey here in the southeast. Love those flashing skates, but the sticks scare us. Maybe they need a good chewing.
7:39 pm on November 16th, 2013
Many years ago Molly’s Mom played on a women’s hockey team. She weighed 98 pounds and played defense. Ha ha ha.
7:42 pm on November 16th, 2013
Princess, at least your mom can stay upright on skates. Mom skates on the inside of her ankles.
7:43 pm on November 16th, 2013
What was she thinking? Toto, it’s not the Ice Capades anymore.
7:58 pm on November 16th, 2013
Score for Sam. WE deserved that 🙂
8:00 pm on November 16th, 2013
PrincessSam: I bet Molly’s Mom was so fast on her skates that she didn’t have to be big. I can picture her stealing the puck away from a slow moving brute-ess and going in to score.
M&LL’s Mom: I see that Buffalo had a big shake-up.
The pirate plunderers and the Chet the Dog Plunderers are horses of different stripes. I’ve been seeing that “keep calm and carry on” quote all over the place in the last two weeks. I like inserting the word plunder in place of carry. I do sometimes need to remember to stay calm.
Rio: I hear that LizF has added a new art piece to her website. A neighbor pug named Claude. I told her she should post that pug here. She is having a show right now featuring dogs and will be adding them to her site over the next few days.
8:05 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…You should post Liz’s website link here…sniff!…I used to have it but not anymore….grunt!
8:12 pm on November 16th, 2013
The girls are in, and exhausted. Pop must be at work at 2:30 am, so we are turning in. Good night.
8:14 pm on November 16th, 2013
Capt. Calico Jack Rackham wore calico and had 2 women on his crew Mary ered and Anne Bonney. ( Not sure about spelling) Was the first known to use sabres instead of bones.
8:16 pm on November 16th, 2013
Mom’s battery just went bye, bye. Will get back soon.
8:19 pm on November 16th, 2013
Our Lady finally arrived home. What did she find?—A Giant in pain. Since the incident—which includes a fall from the top of the dog truck, hitting a hard object on the way down, and the ground—he has trained the team and lifted a pallets worth of dog food. Our Lady brought him home two gallons for medicinal purposes only. She also brought him home his favorite candy bar and told him to take two bites as needed for pain.
He said he shouldn’t have told our Lady so she wouldn’t worry. She would have figured it out when he winced each time he moves—she’s a smart one, our Lady. We are trying to get him to sit still. We think our Lady will have better luck in that department.
8:21 pm on November 16th, 2013
Make that two gallons of ice cream.
8:24 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rebecca!…As much as I love to hear from The Giant on this blog, I was very concerned by his post…sniff!…He does not realize he is in pain because of a cracked rib it seems…sniff!…I hope he knows we all want him to be healthy and pain free above ALL ELSE….wheeze!
8:27 pm on November 16th, 2013
Elephants!…Rebecca, did you happen to get my SDD regarding Elephants?…sniff!sniff!
8:33 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: I am just catching up on SDDs now. Wheeze! Sneeze! Sparkle!
8:36 pm on November 16th, 2013
Okay!….grunt!….Let me know when you are caught up. I hope you are sitting on the Giant as you catch up on things…sniff!…Luna and Bellie tried, but they could not keep him down…huffle!
8:37 pm on November 16th, 2013
Here is Liz’s website. I cannot find Claude the pug although she said he was there somewhere.
http://www.elizabethfaul.com.au/
8:41 pm on November 16th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: Make that 2 gallons of scotch and the Giant won’t be going anywhere however… worse side effects may ensue.
8:43 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…Are you joking when you say you cannot see Claude The Pug?…heh!heh!…He popped right up when I clicked on her website..snort!
8:44 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hmmm…and what was the Giant doing on top of the dog truck? I had been thinking that he fell off one of the cabin roofs while shoveling off the snow.
Today has been fairly productive so I am going to read for a while. I did manage to misplace my phone and since it was on vibrate, it did no good to email someone to call me. I did find it–dead as a doornail–and put it on the charger.
More later….
8:45 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: What!? I just checked again and see no pug.
8:47 pm on November 16th, 2013
Name!…I love the name she gave to the Claude piece…heh!…”Little Lion Man”…snort!…My friend finds that very apropos….grunt!
8:48 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson: the pug showed up on the opening screen
Rio: I hung your friend’s artwork. I think I am going to keep it up permanently. I was going to send her a photo but I think I will just entice her to come and visit and see it in person.
8:49 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…What?…How can this be?…heh!…Here he is.
8:50 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! Just checked LizF’s website, and there is a pug right there!
8:53 pm on November 16th, 2013
CHobbit!…heh!heh!…She has already seen her artwork, but the idea of coming to visit you is very, very tempting indeed…snort!…Next year will be a whole different animal when it comes to vacations. She is just thrilled to pieces to get most of the week of Thanksgiving off this year. Usually, the boney fingered one would not let anyone (but her moles) have time off around holidays or at the end or beginning of each month…wheeze!
8:54 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hmmmm.
I am still getting the picture LizF won the prize for in September on the opening screen. It is titled “Too Soon Goodbye” and because of the title (I think), I get teary every time I see it, it reminding me of all those to whom I have said goodbye in the last little while.
8:55 pm on November 16th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: I think Swedish Fish will help the Giant. Please ask your Lady to take her Giant to the doctor. I am worrit that there may be internal bleeding.
8:55 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rose!…snort!…How the heck are you?…sniff!
8:56 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…Refresh the page and see what happens…grunt!
8:56 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: I know your friend has seen her own artwork but she hasn’t seen it on display at the Hobbit Hotel.
8:57 pm on November 16th, 2013
Awww. That little pug looks grumpy already. Heh! Thank you for posting him.
8:57 pm on November 16th, 2013
CHobbit!…Right-O!…heh!heh!
8:58 pm on November 16th, 2013
Claude!….His head looks pretty flat. He must be a good guy…heh!heh!
8:59 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! I am still unemployed, but okay. I had to sign a “separate ion agreement” which is secret code for hush money. I am good until February 28, when the hush money ends.
How the hell-o are you?
9:01 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! Nor has your friend seen her artwork displayed at our apartment.
9:02 pm on November 16th, 2013
Oh hey! Duh. Refreshing the page worked.
I’d be pretty grumpy too if I had that scary looking monster with claws behind me. Is that a gargoyle?
9:02 pm on November 16th, 2013
Am I the only one who sees Chet in the right corner of the O’ Howlers picture?
9:04 pm on November 16th, 2013
Hush!….Money!…Wow! I am very impressed…snort!…Isn’t strange how far companies will go to protect the criminally insane managers inside of a company?…wheeze!…I am so glad you are not in that environment anymore….gruff!growl!… You and my friend have both escaped the tyranny!….Wooooooo!….And I know you will find an even better job that you love!love!love!…chuffle!
9:05 pm on November 16th, 2013
Never saw Liz’s work before, it is brilliant! We love it.
the ipaw is on plug since battery went gah, so we will go read then to sleep, perchance to dream. Hope all had fun in Texas today. Still missing too many voices. Nighty night.
9:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rose!…Yes!
9:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
Wose, I see Chet. It is a closeup of the back of his head.
9:09 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…We will have to ask Liz to explain that piece to us…sniff!…There is some scary looking stuff behind the pug and I would like to know what Liz was thinking when she created this piece…yeeep!…Hopefully, she will read the blog tomorrow morning as she drinks her cawfee and post tonight…heh!heh!
9:11 pm on November 16th, 2013
Howlers!…They managed to catch Chet The Dog in their foto of the farm….Wooooo!
9:14 pm on November 16th, 2013
Thank you, Siber-H! I know my vision is not all that it should be….
Maybe Spence can use this as a future book cover.
9:16 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rose!…Maybe the next short story will be called “A Chicken Was Involved” and they can photo shop one of the “girls” into the foto…heh!heh!
9:17 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! I hope I am as lucky as your friend. I hope I can find my forever job. At least a place where I don’t mind going to, and my boss isn’t going to freak out on me.
9:19 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! I don’t laugh out loud very often, but I am laughing so hard at your book title!
9:23 pm on November 16th, 2013
That pug is probably not allowed out of his yard and he is imagining what he may encounter if he ventures out beyond his usual boundaries.
Wose: I see Chet! It took me awhile but there he is…our next book cover?
9:27 pm on November 16th, 2013
Awesome: Truthfully, it looks a lot like The Sound and the Furry cover.
9:31 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rose!… I hope you find your forever job too!…snort!…My friend feels like she has finally found hers here after we all packed up and moved from down south about 9 years ago. She had been with one company forever down southern-way…sniff!..Now, even though she has an amazing amount of responsibility in this new job, it is not too stressful because the Hot-Shot diffuses the stress. He is the most pawsitive person she has ever worked with before…chuffle!… She is on a small team that has a huge amount of influence on the whole world-wide busy place. …grunt!…Yet she seems way more relaxed than ever. It is so nice….snort!…She says she is making a trip to Petsmartie tomorrow to get me some special treaties. Maybe for Beau to, but that was not stated clearly, so I suspect they will just be for me. …heh!sneeze!
9:32 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: Our Lady sat on the Giant’s lap when she got home. It worked for a while then he wanted to go check on the dogs. Check your SDD.
Wose: Belle Starr says once she is finished with Nana smooching, she is going to blur to you, you, you and keep you company.
Liz, like so many on this here blog, is so very talented.
9:40 pm on November 16th, 2013
HOH’s Mom: Has recognized the figure in the background of Liz’s pug picture as the lion that guarded Buddha. This I never heard of before so I am learning something new.
9:41 pm on November 16th, 2013
RIO! Please keep your tail curled that I can find my forever job. I am soooo happy that your friend is loving her new job. She deserves it!
Hope that you maybe get some hot-wings with those treaties!
9:42 pm on November 16th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: Belle Starr has the key….
9:45 pm on November 16th, 2013
Thieves!…I have check and re-checked…burp!
9:46 pm on November 16th, 2013
Beau will need some special treats to get through the Broncos game tomorrow.
9:47 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rose!…I will always keep my tailed curled specially for you…snorkel!
9:48 pm on November 16th, 2013
SiberH!….Nawww…heh!
9:53 pm on November 16th, 2013
Texas!…Well, I was really hoping for an update about how the Plunderer Texas Meet N’ Greet went this morning…grunt!…No one seems to be saying squat about it though…sniff!grumble!
9:57 pm on November 16th, 2013
The Texas trio must have worn themselves out. I hope Macy’s mom is feeling okay.
10:03 pm on November 16th, 2013
Wose: Our Lady would be happy to help you with your resume.
Rio: Honk!
10:03 pm on November 16th, 2013
Plunderers in Texas!
I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow to hear about the meeting.
I’m going to finish reading about Buddha’s guardian lion and then head for bed. My brain seems to be shutting down.
10:13 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson!…Awww shucks!…grunt!….I had a question for you but I did not remember it until right now…b-urp!… Tomorrow I will ask you if you are around and I am around…sniff!
10:28 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rebecca!…Belch!..honk!
10:30 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: What is your question? I turned on the tv so I haven’t gone to bed yet.
10:32 pm on November 16th, 2013
Question!….Beau received Staff’s Zinnia seeds today and there were some unique looking stamps on the envelope…sniff!…Do you want them?…grunt!
10:33 pm on November 16th, 2013
Yes, the guardian lions. Mom read a book in the late 1960’s by Mary Stewart called The Gabriel Hounds. This is how she learned of the dogs of Foo.
Rio, we(the HOH) are so glad you have so many friends to talk to tonight.
10:34 pm on November 16th, 2013
HoHo!…Why? So I don’t talk to you?…heheh!
10:41 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: Well…sure. For free? Heh, heh.
HOH: You have a good memory.
10:43 pm on November 16th, 2013
Free?…No said anything about Free…sniff!
10:44 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: Wag!
10:50 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: …laughing…
I have two books on the go: What the Dog Knows by Cat Warren which is about training cadaver dogs and their trainers – recommended by Spencer Quinn, and for lighter reading; Revenge of the Lobster Lover by Hilary MacLeod, which title reminded me of the Storyteller.
10:55 pm on November 16th, 2013
Thieves!…grunt!burp!
Dawson!…Cadaver Dawgs?…wheeze!…What the hell is that?…gasp!
10:59 pm on November 16th, 2013
Dawson, TY for the 2 new books “on the go”. There are never enough books to read, especially about the nation within.
P.S. If OFA gets any more into Chet, it will take more than a dog whisperer to get him out, head first.
11:03 pm on November 16th, 2013
Rio: Lick!
11:03 pm on November 16th, 2013
OMD, what have we said? This must be the zombie Sharon speaking…forgive, help, speak!
11:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
If only Sadie’s ears stuck up, this could have been Chet the Jet. Entitled, “Snow was Involved.”

11:07 pm on November 16th, 2013
They are the dogs that find people who are no longer living, for instance in places like the Phillipines right now, after 9/11 at the World Trade Center or to find victims of crime that are hidden in the woods.

Yes, Dawson, and did you know that cadaver dogs grieve for the bodies they find? We think they do sooooo much more than we ask them to do. Just like people, some dogs go over and above!

Zombie Sharon: Forgiven. What for exactly? I do not know.
CHobbit: That looks like a picture I have taken many times when my thumb got in the way. We could photoshop on some stand up ears. Have you been taking lessons in photography from Mollypop’s Mom?

Rio: We’re full of good ideas like don’t get caught. But as far as growing up—Nah. We made a promise to Barb and Maggie to have manners while we escort her on her North the Alaska adventure. We’ve been tying out different manners we’ve, er, obtained during nap time in the kennel. Tonight, we tried on Gomez’s manners on for size. The length is good, but they run a little short through the tail and mischeif making.

We’ll make an exception on our No Manner’s rule for our VIP guest.
We can’t believe it, but the Giant has been taking it easy for the past hour. That never happens. Our Lady is taking credit for it. She is going to make him dinner.
Night all youse.

At 3:29 HoH thought I would be home soon. HA! When my friends and I go quilting we do not come home ‘soon’ I got home at 10.00 p.m. and had to go look for some stuff to take quilting tomorrow. I will post a picture of it one of these days. I am thinking cute stuff for the next holiday boutique. Just wait till you see.

HOH again, Mary Stewart is one of my favorite authors. I have almost all her books in hardcover from years ago. I think I need to reread the Gabriel Hounds. Maybe I will take some of hers to Mpls for the winter.

G’day everyone from very late at night, which means good morning to you! Sorry for my long absence and thank you T&G’s mom for updating me with so many doings and sayings about everyone this year. I’ll try to catch up more often in future. Special hi to Dawson and Sharon, lovely to meet you on the SDD.
So…since you wondered… The lion behind Claude is there because i think that’s how he sees himself when he comes flying out the back door, races down the steps and charges down the path barking heartily at anything unusual. But if it’s something he wasn’t expecting, his tail unfurls and hangs behind him and he zips back in through the dog door leaving his mum to handle the scary stuff.
His head isn’t really that flat…
