First! How is it that I haven’t posted in days and I get to be first!!
Greetings plunderers from the middle of the mitten. Jazzy here reporting that we have been busy, busy, busy. Mom has been quilting up a storm. She has 3 projects in various stages of completion and was contemplating starting 2 more this morning. I put the brakes on that and told her she has to finish what she starts completely before she starts something else new. She pouted, but saw the obvious wisdom in my instruction and agreed with me.
Mom has been on the Medical Weight Loss program since May 11. She’s down 18 lbs and feeling good. She’s also down one size in shirts and bought a bunch of new t-shirts for the summer. Her goal is down 2 sizes by July 4th and reduction or elimination of her blood pressure meds. I think she’s going to make her goal.
Sissy has completed 4 chemo treatments and has 2 left. So far so good. BIL hit a deer (BIL had no injuries) on his way to work…car was totaled. Insurance paid $300 more than what he paid for the car 3 years ago. This happened the day before BIL had hernia surgery.
My 2-legged brother has been in Detroit for training. He’s a mechanic at a dealership and he’s been chosen to be the Fiat expert when the dealership starts carrying this line of cars on the fall. He stopped by to see me on Tues and Fri nights on his way to and from Detroit and Grand Rapids. He sits on the patio and plays with his cell phone when he waits for mom to come home from the busy place. I look at him through the patio window. Maybe I’ll talk mom into giving him a key so he can come in and play with me instead of wait for mom.
Although we’ve been busy, we do check in on the blog most days, but haven’t posted in a while. We are thinking of Patsy, hoping Barb’s farm gets sold, and ponder the wonders of Snowhook and what adventures (trouble) they get into during the summertime.

Nice to hear from you! You tell you mom keep up the good work with her weight loss program! This is the best thing she can do for herself. Hey, are any more of your mom’s projects going to show up on Spring boutique?
So glad Sissy is doing well with her chemo, and BIL is okay. Something tells me your 2 legged brother is going to be great at selling Fiats.

Kirby T. Thanks for that link. Really GLAD (snicker) that visitor didn’t show up at the wedding. When I went to pick up Jesse this morning, our neighbors down the road had every one of their trash cans knocked over and rummaged through. Hmmm. those were supposed to be bear proof.
Rosalyn’s fever came back with a vengeance last night. 104.4. Zoë bathed her, did the alcohol rub, put a wet towel on her all throughout the night. She drank a lot of water this morning and her fever is lower. the vet says to continue what we are doing and made some dosages higher on some of the meds.

Good story about Rambo. We too thought Rambo would look a little different, more of a Rottie type.
Flying off to the grocery and library. Taking back Dog Tags and ordering One Dog Night, # 9 in the series.
DIL called this morning. She said if our overnight guest arrives with duct tape and zip ties to call them. What a sense of humor that girl has!

Siber, No, she watched the rerun of The Craig’s List Killer the other night, as did Barb. She knew exactly what Jess was talking about. And we here are not going to read 50 Shades of Grey. I know it is a big hit, but we like Andy Carpenter right now, at least till a new C & B comes out.

All I know about that book is it is the first in a strange trilogy and takes place here in The Emerald City. Mom has not read it.

* get totally doused with cold water
* wipe rubbing alcohol on your paws and in-between the pads
* lie down on a cool mat
* have someone put a cold wet towel over you
• put a fan directly on you

This is very sad. Nana, thinking she would make a quick trip to the Little Market, was aghast to find it closed with a For Sale sign posted. It has been on the south end of the Island Forever…how can this be happening?

This is a chainsaw chair made from the tree upon which stump it sits. that might be correct English.
I wintered over the geraniums, added the begonias and just did the petunias today. Zoë likes petunias because when you smell them the grab your nose.

We are finally caught up with our mowing supervision duties. All pastures are looking good, as is the rest of our grass areas. Melanie, that gutter garden is pure genius. We love it, and the rest of your gardens too.
Barb, after your company leaves we hope you catch up here. Mom raised Annie from weanling (4 months old). It was fun. However, she won’t be breeding her. Just like dogs and cats, she feels there are too many unwanted, unloved horses in the world. Unlless you have a horse that has done something amazing, she thinks it is best not to breed them. Just her opinion.

Mama is home from the BearFest. She had a great time, but she is just asleep on her feet. She is so tired that she put the computer on, and dozed off and we got a hold of the lap top and RAN. So now we get to do something that she was planning to do later.
Ahem – we have an announcement to make.
As most of you know – our beloved Rebecca is going to be traveling to Atlanta for a conference at the end of this month.
What you don’t know, is that she is going to be making a little side trip after the conference, to a little state in the northeast known as Massachusetts, home of the Pack, and the Corgis (and the Wrotten Kats) as well as a certain author we all know and love.
AND the other thing you don’t know is that Mama was able to pull a whole bunch of strings and got the use of a big hall with AV equipment and seating for over 200. And you don’t know that she has all kinds of connections to get free advertising. And you don’t know that she has alrady started to tell people about this and they all want tickets.
Tickets to what, you may ask. Well, tickets to hear the great and wonderful Rebecca Savidis, Best Damn Handler’s Wife talk about Snowhook Kennel and the trials and tribulations of running the Iditarod.
And there will be a sales table at the back of the room where people will be able to buy Melanie’s video, and Snowhook Kennel gift items, and assorted dreamcatchers and Husky themed jewelry and ornaments.
So, while Coach is in Alaska doing a speech for AJ – Rebecca will be here with US – doing a fund raising speech for Snowhook.
