Gooood morning, everyone! Condolences to OFA. “Cute, little” Darah thought mom was getting impatient waiting for today’s post, so she showed her a new game…water-bowl hockey on the kitchen floor šŸ™ Have a transendental Thursday (ah, vocabulary)

B&M: When Barb has a sec, ask her what time and temp she cooked that chicken, eggplant dish at.

Good morning. We have not read anything by Vince Flynn. Anyone familiar with his works? Sorry to hear of his passing,

We were looking at an email from B & N this morning advertising big bargins. Any recommendations? We saw a series that looked interesting – the Fresh Baked Mystery Series by L. Washburn. Has anyone read any of those?

We saw The Dog Who in paperback on sale, and read a great review by Wookie. It was extremely well written, of course, Wookie being a gentleman and a scholar.

HOH, I believe it was 350 degrees. If you want to follow the recipe exactly, you can google Rachel Ray’s chicken-eggplant parm. It was rather labor intenseive, but well worth it.

It sounded soooo delish that mom and her son are teaming up to fix it for a late-lunch party today.

There are a couple different recipes on her wed site, so if you have difficulty finding it, let us know. When we mixed the bread crumb mix we used fresh basil, but dried thyme as we didn’t have fresh. It was fine. Also she has a recipe for a simple red sauce, but we just used a bottled organic basil pasta sauce. It is delish!

When we were reading info on The Dog Who at B & N, we noticed that OFA has a birthday coming up on the 28th. Party time!

Grizz’s brother was a Vince Flynn fan. His central character was Mitch Rapp, a CIA agent. How sad that he was only 47.

OH — Sorry about no sweep of the Nationals, but we needed the win more than you did. An 11th inning grand slam is a pretty dramatic way to win (especially after tieing the game in the 9th on a two-out single). The Phillies still did pretty good against my Nats though.

That’s right Rio and SiberH. And remember, it is this Sunday that I will be at the Nats Rockies game in person, cheering the Nats to victory (I hope), with Wookie looking over my shoulder as well.

And definitely a sad farewell to Gandolfini as well. I don’t think I have ever read any of VInce Flynn’s books, but I am familiar with the name. Just something else to add to the “to read” list (please note, infinitive as adjective, not noun).

Do you like being kept in the dark about all aspects of your job?
Do you prefer to be happy or depressed all day long?
What is your favorite thing about really crappy software?
Do you like having your head chewed off at any given moment?
How do you cope with the feeling of hopelessness?
When you are backed into a corner do you prefer to fight or fly?

Resting a bit now. YSAS is at the place, might call me before everything happens. Hoping for no panic attacks.

Hey Gang – Melanie just called from having picked up Franklin at the v e t. The surgery was 100% successful – the lump on his ear as an encapsulated fatty blob – NOT cancer. Frank was awake and wagging when Melanie got there, and he is now on his way home to his beloved Zoe, who has been a nervous wreck all day.

I can bring the glue gun and glitter to the party if you can bring Grizz. We will make him sparkly in no time and he will forget all about the tattoo. 49. c.hobbit
    6:18 pm on June 20th, 2013

“Now it looks like a smudge of Rio hugging Beau.” Funniest thing I’ve read on this blog! And that’s saying a lot.

Went to a the vet with Sadie today for a checkup and saw a new vet. When I mentioned that I really didn’t think she was a lab mix as stated in her shelter papers, the vet examined her and said she was thinking she is a Border Collie-Chow mix. So now I am looking up those breeds for insights (particularly on how come she is so good at ignoring me).

  50. Wose
    6:36 pm on June 20th, 2013

Rio hugging Beau! Now I would pay to see that!!

Belle Starr: It might be hard to catch Grizz to give him a tattoo. But it would be fun if you made Snoopy and Woodstock sparkly.

  51. Wose
    6:39 pm on June 20th, 2013

CHobbit: That is certainly an interesting mix. Sadie must be a beautiful girl.

  52. Pancho & Lefty
    6:47 pm on June 20th, 2013

WoodHobbitStock: Maybe is a thief-lab mix. We’ve been known to do a fair bit of ignoring usually when we are told things like: stop, gentle, and give it back.

  53. c.hobbit
    6:49 pm on June 20th, 2013

The vet had said that Chows aren’t very nice dogs but when they are in a mix, they are lovely dogs. Looking up their personality it seems to be true that they aren’t good dogs. Sadie’s fur is very fuzzy and soft which does fit the Chow part; however, they are supposed to have a very unusual trait of a blue/purple tongue and/or lips even in mixes and Sadie lacks that. She has some physical characteristics of a Border Collie but is not that energetic–and I’ve noticed no herding tendencies. The vet didn’t seem to think much of having a DNA test done.

Re: the shedding season…I am trying to turn Sadie from a fuzzy wuzzy to a
fuz wuz (“was” fuzzy but no more).

  54. c.hobbit
    6:52 pm on June 20th, 2013

Yes, I think I will go with the thief-lab mix. That makes the most sense. She has been known to carry books, purses, Christmas gifts out the dog door into the yard. Said items are quickly covered with snow and not found until spring.

I am so determined that she can’t be a lab since she hates water but perhaps there is an occasional deviant lab who doesn’t like water either.

C.Hobbit . . A long, long, time ago . . some idiot person in the Nova Scotia and Labrador/Newfoundland government decided that all dogs had to go. That really did harm to the Newfoundland breed. Luckily, people in England loved the breed, but had to do some mixing to make sure of not over breeding. One of the breeds they were bred to was Chows. One of our old Fair Ladies had purple spots on her tongue! She was the sweetest of the bunch of nuts.

While she was on the phone with the dispatcher, whoever was at the door came and tried it again.
The guys in blue came roaring up the street, and the footsteps ran back down the deck.
The police guys were here for quite a while, going though the whole back yard. We now have all the doors and windows locked, the back yard flood light on, and curtains drawn.

We on the other hand were the alarm system. We were on the breezeway when this all happened, and it was US, the Brilliant and Brave Wonder Kats who alerted Mama by FLYING into the house with our tails the size of goodyear blimps. That’s when she heard the perp.

We didn’t come in the house cuz we were scared, mind you. We were just being helpful.

    Corgis are woosies.

B & S: oh boy. “Wonder Kats”–will we ever hear the end of it {{{{sigh}}}} There will be no living with you. I bet you will be insufferable at the party. [So what else is new?] As long as you don’t end up writing a folk ballad about what happened and want to sing it at the party.

Locked-Up!…My friend makes sure everything is locked up before we go to our warm soft beds….snort!…But during the day her mother sits around here with the house wide open inviting all the perverts to visit…sniff!…Someone has decided to take all her valubles and important papers to the bank and open a safety deposit box this weekend….grunt!

Alice and Abbie always tell me when someone is coming to the door before they arrive. Well, Abbie does. Abbie gets up from her endless nap and leaves the room in a flurry. It is very noticeable.

RIP Vince Flynn, a highly regarded Minnesotan author.

T&G: Oh yeah, blame the bat. It’s all his fault. I’m sure your teasing had nothing to do with the rest of that scary story but if it did there are several other Plunderers who better make sure their doors are locked up tight! Bwaaahaa haa.

Now if they were Corgis, well, ya…get rid of them any way you can. But baby kitties? Who would ever want to get rid of wonderful, cuddly, magnificent baby kitties?

    The Herbs were brave
And could have clawed that knave
Waking the corgis from their snooze
And all would have made some ankle tattoo.

Glad you heard the footsteps leaving to the street.

Mama says since we don’t live in the wilds of Alaska, we can’t have a shotgun. But tomorrow she is going out to buy a SuperSoaker water gun. Bet that would discourage most perps – being drenched from head to toe. We think she should load it with hot sauce!

B&S: Good idea. Maybe we’ll sneak some hot sauce in the shot gun. You can never be too safe. Mace wouldn’t hurt either. Maybe sometime our Lady will tell the tale about the time the Giant gave her a can of mace when she went on a dog sledding expedition. Nothing says love like a defense spray.

You really need to know the entire program in order to achieve this.
At the same time, you should be doing exercises that specifically target the abdomen. Since it does not mean much, it can be used as a sales gimmick,
but often this term is better than conventional in another way they may
