    Good morning, Everybody.
R.I.P. Ride Sally Ride. You were an inspiration to us all.
C.Hobbit, thank you so much for trying your darnest. Sometimes, as difficult as it is, our 2-leggeds just have to admit that they just cannot take responsibility for all the members of the Nation Within who are not getting a fair shake. We are grateful that they do what it takes to take care of us guys. We are grateful there are people like you willing to give it a try. This situation simply couldn’t work.

Sally Ride was a true inspiration, especially to young females.
    C. Hobbit, yes, what Oleys said. We love that there are people like you and Snowhook out there who are willing to do this.

Hey youse, guys…..I noticed early this morning. The blog background is now AFOC!

Hi Rose, we only have the very top part. Is that what you see?

Good Morning All. I wanted to be Sally Ride! Just last night I told Dan and Zoe that the Pack and I are moving to either the moon or Mars. My arthritis has been not so good. The Pack is getting older and I figure a colony will need large dogs and my sense of humor!

C Hobbit Harris, you have made the correct decision. Those aren’t easy are they? FYI, our first bitch, Jamie, was pregnant with her first litter and her co-owner, a long time breeder, was going to keep her a week before whelping and when the birthing began we were going to go and experience how to do all of it.

One week before the birth we put Jamie in the car and drove 3.5 hours. Hugs, tummies and kisses and whispers of ‘we’ll be back soon’ commenced. By the time we got home? We had to turn around and drive back. The drive had started her labor.

I would hate to think of you on the road dealing with a feral dog and pups being born. Though . . all our bitches bonded to us even tighter when we were there during the whelping.

Rebecca, your logic will impress AJ. Mums the word on everything else.

Oleys: I can see Chet and Bernie’s ear as they are sitting out in the audience. I can see the curtains on each corner. I can see one of the bad guys sitting at the right hand side of the table, and whatever is hanging at the door which is directly above Bernie’s head. The blog space covers most of the book’s cover, so I guess the big reveal will come in September. I thought maybe Spence/Admin would have put up ACWI first.

I saw Sally Ride 4 years ago at the national library conference. Nothing unusual except that she looked years younger than her actual age. We don’t own our lives – we just rent them.

The space program? It is mostly what you said, Rio. The private part of it is going big time in NM.
Sally Ride was a true inspiration to all young women.

Rebecca, You bet! You made that sensible descision all by yourself. While not ever having as many dogs as you do, mom has learned some of those lessons the hard way.

ARRGGG, I forgot why I came on!! First, the Snigglefritz carpola phone is out again. BUT if both parties scream you can almost hear each other.

YSAS called and screamed (I think) “I HAVE MY OWN TRAILER” for when he’s a dead guy! At least that’s what I believe I heard.

    More later.

Beau!… He threw-up everything he ate all weekend and then Sunday night he kept everyone up all night going outside a million times….dammit!…Yesterday he wouldn’t eat at all…grunt!… His ears were real hot and his eyes were running and his tail was a droopin’….sniff!… My friend thought he had probably eaten something outside that was making him sick. She was very worried about him, but finally he started feeling better right around supper-time last night….heh!…He ate and everything stayed down. This morning he was back to his snorkely gruffley self….grunt!…Now we can all get some sleep again….grumble!

Whew! Rio, Staff kept remembering when she would have to go to the emergency room with one or the other of the parents. It was always 6 hours, no matter what time of day or night you arrived. That is what we were hoping had NOT happened at your house.

Glad to hear Beau is feeling better. Poor little fella. Make sure he has lots of water.

    Hugs, Alice

Good morning all. Happy to hear that Beau is feeling chipper this morning.

Sally Ride, way too young to go, born in 1951 I believe.

We won’t be able to be on the blog as much as we like till we get organized with things around here. It seems a little overwhelming at times, but then we remember it’s like eating an elephant…one bite at a time.

Going to deliver another load to the thrift store. Boy, they love us over there! BBL

Eating an elephant??? Maggie is going to eat a whole elephant??? Where in tarnation did she catch one of those?

Beau, please do not try to eat an elephant or anything else not specifically meant for you. (whispering) did you get ahold of one of those chilis?

  26. Siber-H
    12:00 pm on July 24th, 2012

Rio, I got answers for you on the roasting of the green chili. Both people said they started out roasting them in the oven, but then went to using the broiler. The broiler works best.

But we are glad that Beau is feeling better too. Sounds like he had what we had the last weekend when Gramp was puppy sitting. We sure kept him hopping.

Rose – interesting thing = when we read your post, we thought “huh?”. Our background was still the green cover book. And then just now, when we refreshed, it went to Fistful of Collars. Boy, this techie stuff gets confusing.

Speaking of dinner – when they were on Cape Cod, they had Stuffed Quahogs (giant clams) anytime they could get them at the restaurants.
So, on the way home, Mama stopped at a store to see if they had locally made ones to go. She got 12 so everyone could have their fill. They were a little pricey, but she figured they are only on the Cape once a year, and this is a regional item.
She made some other stuff, but the ‘hogs were supposed to be the biggest part of dinner. She cooked them up and served them. They started eating, and Mama looked puzzled. Then so did Dad. Gramp has never had a Stuffed Quahog, so he didn’t say much, but there wasn’t even a bit of clam meat in any of them. It was all just stuffing bread crumbs and seasonings. NOT what a stuffed ‘hog is supposed to be at all.
Anyway, Mama made some other things to feed the boys; then she took the stuffing out of the shells and mixed it with other goodies, and now tonight, they are having stuffed chicken breasts.

Phone is fixed. Turns out it was one of our lines. Very old phone line that started shorting out. The tech dude is nice. Considering he had to go into our basement . . Not a nice place to be . . and when he was trying to get back in the living room we had stuck the door up trying to move the fainting sofa in the room. He helped liberated it. He is now fixing the wire that is the problem.

YEA! We now have phone service!

YSAS has his own trailer…and he’s a dead guy!

Day off. I got a couple miles away on the bicycle then it started raining. I got back soggy but not cold because it was a warm/hot rain. I put Maggie in her bed then I went to mine and Turtleman went home. A one hour day off – new record. (sigh)

Couch!…I think SiberH and I need to work our way up to a Fainting Couch…snort!…First we need an Amazed Couch for when the Rockies win 3 plus games in a row…sniff!…Then we will need a Stunned Couch for when their average rises above .500…grunt!

  46. B.Stover
    2:49 pm on July 24th, 2012

I think probably “fainting” should be substituted with “collapsing” meaning the sofa itself is damaged. It isn’t a sofa upon which to faint (though that would be interesting….in the 19th Century).

Awww – Mama says we have to go to bed now. Just cuz SHE’S tired, that doesn’t mean we are. Just cuz we kept her up most of last night when the thunderstorms scared us….We think she is being most unreasonable.
But, we will say g’night. And see you all tomorrow, with or without italics.

Hey OleyHowlers, got to the explore.org where the puppies are and then scroll down. Second from the left are some bears and one has a salmon in it’s mouth. click that.

FIGHT! There was a fight where a big bear decided to take over a spot from a littler one. Didn’t work. With this I say goodnight! “Goodnight!”

MPM: I think you and I have different standards, but I relate in some level. Mama gave me a stuffed toy when I was but a tyke. I carried BumbleBear with me everywhere. He made a great pillow but that didnt stop Luna from eating him one day during nap time.

Tenzing – that is so sad to have your bear eaten by Luna.

Oleys – I got wonderfluffed today too. I had another inch cut off too now I feel like Sammie when she gets shorn.

I closed the italics last time. I did!

  111. dawson
    8:40 pm on July 24th, 2012

That time I closed the italics twice and that worked for me.
There’s a whole lot of wonderfluffing going on around the blog lately. After my last wonderfluffing, I looked like I had a bowl put on my head and she cut around that.

Last night we had storms with 60 mph winds. No big damage, Thank Dog! Been awake since 4:35 a.m. so going to hit the sack early. Night all.

She said Beau and I could NOT go outside till the whole back lawn had been watered down good and tight…sniff! …Or sumthing like that…heh!…Anyway, we had to hold it for quite a while till all that was done…grunt!

Alice!…Where the hell have you been?…snort!…We’ve already tried that several times…grump!…Its something in the code that got messed up when a “change” was made to put in the new background…sniff! …How are the Twins doing tonight?
