“…in a geological sense.” LOL!
Good morning all.
7:58 am on February 19th, 2015
Good morning, B and everyone! Love the “not last long” comment 🙂 Got up the a.m. to a balmy 6*F…the electronic thermometer in the screen room says “ERROR” and we agree. Going up to a whopping 28 here, clear dry and frigid! All of yesterday’s snow is but a memory. Mom is totally flumoxed because trash day will be today instead of tomorrow since mores snow is expected and the thought is that the trucks won’t be able to get around.
Anywho, if mom greets y’all with a wrong day, be patient. We are being called for breakfast. Have a tip top Thursday.
8:18 am on February 19th, 2015
HOH’s Mom: Thank you for the thought yesterday. My furnace and pipes are now installed…and I didn’t freeze!
We have a wind chill advisory here: The wind chill is minus 20 and the dew point is minus 12. We may be getting record-breaking temperatures tonight: minus 10. “Can spring be far behind?” Ha!
8:27 am on February 19th, 2015
It’s cold here. They even shut down school, so Alena’s home for the day. I tell y’all what, you gotta get up pretty early in the morning to get ahead of this crowd.
8:39 am on February 19th, 2015
Good morning all. Record cold here too. -11 right now and going up to just above 0*. Getting some relief by the weekend. I think schools may be closed here today. No break for Barb, however, she is off to work in a few minutesw.
We are anxious for the new publication dates. Barb is going to read Woof before passing it on to the Grands.
8:42 am on February 19th, 2015
Greetings!
Not as cold today here as it has been, but still rather chilly.
HRH, B, Today’s GOOGLE Doodle celebrates the Lunar/Chinese New Year.
RIO! I need your opinion. I was going to start a book from my to be read pile, “The Hanging Tree” by Bryan Gruely. As I was digging through the very, very large to be read pile, I saw the KJF book “We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves” which you had recommended. Should I read the KJF first?
8:51 am on February 19th, 2015
The Year of the Sheep is not positive for love or finances.
Barb is keeping her word and making no comments about KJF’s book mentioned above. She is considering herself severely chastised and remorseful.
9:21 am on February 19th, 2015
Rio. Thanks for the sweet comment from last night. I miss you too and will continue to keep watch and protect you from this side of the Bridge. As they say, I’ve got your back covered, although in your case that can be somewhat of a challenge at times. Take care, my good pal.
9:32 am on February 19th, 2015
Good morning! Kat has graduated to Full-Fledge Siberian Husky. She will NOT come inside to the warm, even at 9 degrees (wind chill -11)
And here, for your viewing pleasure, is Team Tsuga at the Finish!!! Oh how we wish Siber-H was here to take back his “Slowberians” joke. Heh!

9:49 am on February 19th, 2015
Look at Mike Ellis and those Proud Sibes crossing the Finishing Line!
Sniff.
9:52 am on February 19th, 2015
O’H, we think the Siberians looked much better than the 4th place at Westminster. And even though there were 10 of them, they fit together in a very compact way and looked very happy.
9:56 am on February 19th, 2015
Bitter cold here and the schools are closed. Most of the kids have given up their spring breaks so they don’t get those days off. There’s no snow shoveling going on at the moment because all of the snow that’s on the ground has turned into concrete.
9:56 am on February 19th, 2015
Woo hoo Mike Ellis and Sibes! Good race! And welcome “home”
The birds have discovered the newly hung feeder. The Wrotten Kats have discovered the birds at the feeders. We have discovered how much fun it is to sneak up behind entranced Wrotten Kats and WOOF!
Kats defy gravity. tee hee
10:25 am on February 19th, 2015
Loulou! Stay in your window seat! BRRRRRR
We love those happy, upright tails on Mike Ellis’ Sibe team.
10:39 am on February 19th, 2015
MP&LL’s Mom, Maybe we should thank dog that snow doesn’t fall as concrete, it just turns to it later!
Wookie and TRR’s Dad, when looking at the foto of TRR and Zeta with the stick, we wondered who was the branch manager?
10:41 am on February 19th, 2015
Sam’s girl at college hundred and 25 miles east of Buffalo got the same warning as Buffalo got for tonight. When chills of -25° To -40°.
10:51 am on February 19th, 2015
“Kats defy gravity.” LOL!
Rose: I like today’s Google Doodle.
10:54 am on February 19th, 2015
Good Morning Everyone–Statistically the worst traffic day (I mention that to comfort anyone who is snowbound), so a good day to catch up on reading, painting, etc.
HOH and T and G–Thanks for explaining who the Thieves are–I was never quite sure.
B, L and H–this is the U.S. of A and you have the right to raise your voice and be heard. Contact your state legislators and speak up! You can also start a petition (there are websites that help with this–Care2 and change.org are two of them)
I will not mention the temperature here, but it IS overcast and dreary.
Be well and happy today. AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! (Excuse for party food.)
10:55 am on February 19th, 2015
When we glanced at the Google Doodle, we thought it said Luna’s Year. And she was getting a sheep!!!! YESSSSSSssssssssssssssssssss!!!
10:55 am on February 19th, 2015
HOH–Branch manager! O I am beside myself with mirth!
10:57 am on February 19th, 2015
It has been brought to my attention that we are now only 16 days away from The Last Great Race (a.k.a. IDITAROD) !!!!
16 !!!!!
And Natty and Coach are only half-dressed. We need $250 more for Natty and $50 more for Coach. I know so many of youse have given until you are dry so I am worrit.
11:11 am on February 19th, 2015
I noticed that the huskys didn’t have on booties. Is that because it is a shorter race?
Branch Manager, yes, that is a good one!
It was 57* when I got to the office this morning. With the help of the space heater, it is now 65*. No one else in this part of the office building is here. They all stayed home today. Only 2 phone calls so far. Everyone is hibernating.
11:16 am on February 19th, 2015
Spence, Thanks for the publication dates. They are marked on
my calendar.
Congratulations to Team Tsuga!!!
I love the video of them at the finish line. I watched it twice before arriving at Chet’s blog this morning.
Howlers, “Slowberians” was not original with Siber-H. He was only repeating what the mushers were calling them. These same mushers need to wipe that word from their vocabulary now.
There is dog agility on tv tonight.
I am ready for the Iditarod. GO SNOWHOOK!!!
11:24 am on February 19th, 2015
Barb? I am assuming your question is about no booties on Team Tsuga at the finish line.
Siberians are suppose to have tougher feet than Alaskan Huskies, but booties or no booties also depends upon the conditions of the trail.
11:25 am on February 19th, 2015
SiberMom and Howlers: I should know this but I don’t…in what position was Team Tsuga when they crossed the finish line?
Lol. Branch manager and kats defying gravity.
11:30 am on February 19th, 2015
Masquers, Tenth!!!!
11:40 am on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, We still need to cheer Rob Cooke in. He has 127 miles to go to Fairbanks.
11:41 am on February 19th, 2015
Another snow day with Callie and Gilly. Shot it in the wrong format, but it is still pretty cute with the Gentle Giant playing with the silly Corgi.

11:43 am on February 19th, 2015
Hi Siber’s Mom! Yep, we know that Siber-H didn’t invent that term. We just wish he were here to see how wrong a term it was. We know he’d agree 100%. sigh
Can youse believe that Team Tsuga came in 10th? Yowzer! And Lance Mackey is still back at the last checkpoint, and so many mushers had to scratch, including Jeff King. Speaks volumes for our tribe, in our opinion.
B,M,&L, good observation. But this is not a shorter race. Most definitely not!
11:47 am on February 19th, 2015
Tupper’s Maw. Love the video, but it is charming. Callie is a Gentle Giant for sure. Can we come and live with you? Mom made us come indoors, and we don’t like it!
Siber’s Maw, Rob Cooke still has to go up and over Eagle Summit!! Wish the temps would go down down down.
11:47 am on February 19th, 2015
Not BUT…AND
We had started out saying we could only see a few seconds of that video, but then suddenly it started up again.
11:49 am on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, I really, really want to know if Team Tsuga broke their previous time record in the Quest.
Siber-He knows, he knows. I am sure he is celebrating at Rainbow Bridge.
11:53 am on February 19th, 2015
Cute video! Maggie would love to join them. Lucy, not so much. She is a weather whimp.
Thanks for the info, didn’t realize that the Yukno Quest was 1,000 miles.
11:59 am on February 19th, 2015
Siber’s Mom, we feel like somehow Mike Ellis finishing #10 has something to do with our friend Siber-H. Like either he was pushing them along, or they were running for him.
12:00 pm on February 19th, 2015
Tupper’s Mama: Cute Video of Callie & Silly Gilly.
(that snow does sound very “crunchy”. Brrr)
Hurray for Team Tsuga in 10th Place!!!
12:00 pm on February 19th, 2015
Martha tells me that both my comments about Mac’s and my new friend got on. Well, I didn’t know you had to wait a while ..Martha said I did a Double Dawson which sounds sort of cool.
Pictures of Dan will come as soon as I can get a camera I understand. I want it to look like a camera and down (up)? load the pictures to my computer with no messages written in computer language I do not understand. Dan is coming over Sunday and he and Mac will go for a walk. The breeder is a good trainer and I think things will be fine after the snow stops You could have an Iditarod on our block.
12:00 pm on February 19th, 2015
I agree with the Howlers. sniff.
12:03 pm on February 19th, 2015
Zoë: Not only that, but we are twins too at 12:00!
12:05 pm on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, That is a very nice thought…sniff
Zoe, The breeder does sounds like very good trainer. I am so looking forward to Dam joining your family.
12:06 pm on February 19th, 2015
and that would be Dan and not Dam

Oh boy!
Some good reading coming up soon.
Hooray!
Mike Ellis and his team at the finish line in 10th place, happy and healthy. The video is heart touching.
T&G: Callie is gentle with the ankle nipper and they are both enjoying the romp. Can’t say the same about the Wrotten Kats being distracted from the birds. I want to see that video.
12:22 pm on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, Thank you!
They didn’t break their record but they did good!
12:37 pm on February 19th, 2015
Mike Ellis finished #8 in 2011! We had not realized that.
12:43 pm on February 19th, 2015
Steak!

12:49 pm on February 19th, 2015
Steak! They deserve it!
Zoe, Are both Mac and Dan intact males?
12:53 pm on February 19th, 2015
Steak for the Sibers!
umm Howlers, I didn’t realize they finished eighth either.
1:07 pm on February 19th, 2015
It is noon here and mom is still in her night gown. I have got to find some way to get her motivated to get her day underway.
Yea Sibers!
1:13 pm on February 19th, 2015
Macy, The only reason our mom got out of her jammies is becaue the cleaning lady came. She thinks jammies are the everyday wear.
1:41 pm on February 19th, 2015
Royal Mum, Wish I was out there playing with Gilly and Callie!
There are definitely days when I do not want to get out of bed, much less pajamas. I know of what ML speaks.
Macy, how is your mom’s new job going?
1:46 pm on February 19th, 2015
Some might call these jammies, but these are my painting clothes!
The man who lives in this house called me from the local coffee shop. He asked whether I was still in my pajamas. I said, “None of your business!” I could hear 3 or 4 of his buddies all laughing, “That means she’s still in her pajamas.” Smarty britches!
1:50 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear, Did your mom send out an e-mail? Since my AOL account was recently hacked, I don’t want to open the e-mail unless it is legit.
1:51 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear: Same question as Wose. That e-mail looks suspicious.
1:53 pm on February 19th, 2015
ML and O’H, our mom puts her jammies on whenever she thinks she will be home for a few hours. She likes creature comforts!

Callie and Gilly, we love your romping and call that playing “Call of the wild” around here.
This a.m. at 7*F for our first outing of the a.m., we encountered a frozen sushi pond and wading pool and look what the country dogs decided to do!
1:54 pm on February 19th, 2015
I got the email, too. Will wait to ope it after I hear.
1:56 pm on February 19th, 2015
Not to mention “redneck ice skating”.

2:03 pm on February 19th, 2015
Suspicious emails? Last year we got a phone message from the “IRS” with an upstate telephone area code. Wondered why not an “800” number. The IRS contact number in the phone book wouldn’t respond. Yesterday, similar message, this time with a woman’s voice and a 206 (WA state) code. These are all scams. Even if they say they will come by night and steal your silver, they are scammers! The real IRS sends letters via the USPS. Don’t let them play on guilt. Do not answer or call back. They have ways of tracking the calls 🙁
2:25 pm on February 19th, 2015
Yay! Word is that that awful bill did not pass. Not sure whether this means “out of committee” or whether it was up for a full vote, but just got an Email that says it didn’t make the cut. A good thing, in this case. This time.
2:35 pm on February 19th, 2015
Buddy, Good News!
There was an article in the newspaper this morning about all the income tax scams going on right now. It seems to get worse every year.
2:51 pm on February 19th, 2015
Clarification…apparently this was a vote to get the bill out of cimmittee, and apparently it failed unanimously. Which is odd, since the committee chairman is reported to have been the author of the thing. But then voted against it?
2:56 pm on February 19th, 2015
Buddy, We suspect that he got enough phone calls and emails to scare him from voting on that awful bill.
3:28 pm on February 19th, 2015
Yes, Mom forwarded an email with some really cute dog pictures. It is okay to open.
3:34 pm on February 19th, 2015
This is the first week of the online course by Leicester University on Richard III. (I posted the address link a while back.) It’s fun.
I also received an email from BooBear which I haven’t opened.
4:02 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear, Thank you. Those are really cute and funny dog pictures.
Howlers, Scroll down a ways to see the Siber. It is funny.
4:06 pm on February 19th, 2015
Mom was cleaning out email just as that one arrived. It is now gone.
4:20 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear – snort, giggle, chuckle, gaffaw! Those were a riot!
Except the Corgi one – they were mocking that poor, innocent Corgi, we just know it.
As to the current fashion debate – you know, there are those things called Pajama Jeans – they advertise that they are so comfortable you can sleep in them and yet, look good enough to wear them to the office. We figure with the right Hawaiian shirt, you would have all the wardrobe you could possibly need.
4:28 pm on February 19th, 2015
T&G, the DDD saw those advertised and the first thing he asked was…(wait for it)
“Do they make those in men’s sizes?” We kid you not. Mom hid the offensive catalogues since she says the DDD has the fashion sense of Bernie! We ask y’all, what’s wrong with that? Soft, chewy and just the right blend of aromas.
4:44 pm on February 19th, 2015
Siber’s Mom, Mom thought the Siber pic was cute too.
T&G, did your mom see the picture of the baby corgi? One ear up and one ear down.
My favorite is the huge shepherd type dog sleeping on the ottoman! Hey, his feet were all on the floor.
4:48 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear, Could you please resend us that email?
4:49 pm on February 19th, 2015
Carpola! Thinking it was Bogus, Someone here deleted the email. I told Nana not to do it, but she did it anyway.
BooBear, Can you send it again?
MTMP: Would a Guilt Trip work?
4:52 pm on February 19th, 2015
B: We signed up for the course when you first posted it and are looking forward to the lessons.
5:13 pm on February 19th, 2015
Masquers: This week’s topic is The War of the Roses.
5:13 pm on February 19th, 2015
On the IRS thread–Take it a step further and report the # they left to the REAL IRS (I don’t know if they follow up, but they WILL take the number).
Dawson–Better someone you know asking if you’re in your jammies, than some mouth-breathing stranger asking what you’re wearing (or “Are you naked?”) Gah.
5:22 pm on February 19th, 2015
The Strange Call in the Middle of the Night asking, “What are you wearing?” Yeep!
5:43 pm on February 19th, 2015
B, and Masquers, that class sounded so exciting but mom’s brain is scrambled waiting for final tickets/flights to AK. She forgot. Could y’all remediate her at another time? Please?
Diane, mom turned last year’s number in to the IRS. They don’t care. They aren’t interested. Not their problem! We are ignoring this year’s carpola scam and hope y’all do to.
BSD, y’all sure it weren’t our ma plannin’ a “come as y’all are partay?
P.S. BooBear, could we see the cute doggie fotos, pleaze?
Ellen in Clackamas, if you are still around lurking…you have seen some of us as we really are today 🙂
6:01 pm on February 19th, 2015
Heh! Bernie should be very happy. Hawaiin shirts are back in style. The link I posted a couple of days ago was an article about them.
6:04 pm on February 19th, 2015
Ellen: “Some of Us As We Really Are” Scary, Heh?
Wose: Personally we have always Loved Hawiian Shirts.
6:21 pm on February 19th, 2015
OHs, HOHs, and BSD, Mom just resent the pics to y’all. I hope she has the right emails for you. She’s still at work and has a folder with the Plunderers emails that she uses, but she thinks some have changed their emails since she set that up. Let me know if you don’t get the pics and I will get on her to update!
6:27 pm on February 19th, 2015
You guys who just deleted that email – can’t you go into your junk or trashed file and click on it and then click move, and put it back in your inbox? We can do that if we accidentally delete something that we did not men to delete.
6:31 pm on February 19th, 2015
Whoa…Benie may have been on to somthing… Mis-matched shirts, pants, hats…Ladies bags…visors, fabric to make sneakers..should we continue or go to bed?
6:40 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear, HELP!!! Mom is ROFL ! Some of the cutest doggie things she has ever seen.
You do understand, don’t you, that our mom is slightly strange?
7:03 pm on February 19th, 2015
Hey! I drove through Clackamas today….and I did not see Ellen! Even went past my old high school, only because I had detour due to roadwork, and no Ellen! But have spent the last day off and on wondering if she is an Ellen I know! Hahahahaha
7:08 pm on February 19th, 2015
Thank you, Boobear. We love those pictures. It’s hard to say which is best, but the Corgi with one ear up and one ear down is high on the list, as is the guy who doesn’t agree with treat limits.
Mom says the laptop-hatin’ dog is Kat, even if she isn’t a husky.
7:10 pm on February 19th, 2015
Barb, Normally Mom could have retrieved that email from the trash folder, but she was cleaning out all her email at the time, including trash.
7:13 pm on February 19th, 2015
Siber’s Mom, Rob Cooke made it up and over the second big summit (American Summit?).
7:23 pm on February 19th, 2015
I had deleted the email but didn’t have to go fetch it from my trash. Jay Monti passed it on and I got it from him also.
7:30 pm on February 19th, 2015
Here is a nice article by Sebastian Schnuelle. Kudos to Lance Mackey. And we especially like what he said about Siberians.

7:30 pm on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, Thanks!! Rob Cooke and his dogs are over and through the difficult part now. They should have cool runnings all the way to Fairbanks.
7:37 pm on February 19th, 2015
Howlers, Thanks again for the article by Seb. Gosh darn, Those Sibers moved fast! WooHoo
7:57 pm on February 19th, 2015
Well, all of this egg-citement made us super-tired. Or was it these frigid temperatures, and howling winds? Anyway, we are signing off now. Talk to youse mañana.
8:07 pm on February 19th, 2015
Howlers: Thanks for Sebastian’s latest Quest update. Mike Ellis and his Siberian Husky team members are not Slow-berians.
I’m off to a family dinner so I’ll catch y’all tomorrow.
8:07 pm on February 19th, 2015
Rio, American Idol is on now. It looks like part two of what was going on last night.
In my walk down memory lane, I have just come to the part where Mike Baker changed our software to look like Facebook. I can go no further because I am laughing so hard. All hell broke loose. Everyone is all poodled up. I will report more later.
8:08 pm on February 19th, 2015
BooBear: Loved those pictures. They made our day. Frigid February here. Gah.
8:16 pm on February 19th, 2015
Great pictures, Boobear. Not sure which we liked best, they were all so good.
8:24 pm on February 19th, 2015
HOH, Is the one pool the sushi pool? What happens if it freezes over like that? Don’t you need an opening for air for the fishies?
8:29 pm on February 19th, 2015
Mollypop’s Mom, I am laughing just thinking about that time on the blog.
I am watching dog agility. A Border Collie, of course, won the 20 inch
8:35 pm on February 19th, 2015
RIO! I need your expert opinion. Please see my e-mail of 8:42 this morning.

Thanks, BooBear!

facebookie!…If I remember correctly, it was not very funny at the time…heh!heh!…Although, when Stover got into a fight with M.B. on facebookie, that was funny…chorkel!
8:43 pm on February 19th, 2015
Rose!…You may or may not remember but I gave you my definite opinion on you reading that specific book several times in the past…grunt!…Staff and I would both agree it is not the book for you. Just walk away from it…snort!
8:50 pm on February 19th, 2015
RIO! Please accept my apology. My pointy head can only keep one or two facts in my head at one time. I will read “The Hanging Tree” instead.
8:54 pm on February 19th, 2015
Rio, did you see Daniel Seavey from my hometown on Idol last night? What do you think? I think he shows a lot of gumption and he is delightfully up front, has a good developing voice AND he is just such a darn cute kid!
8:58 pm on February 19th, 2015
Rio, I can’t wait to get to the part of the mission after this Facebookie debacle.
8:59 pm on February 19th, 2015
Seavey!…Little Daniel Seavey has stolen my pug-heart!…snort!…He is an amazing singer, and he is sooo darn cute for a two-legged kid…chorkel!…We here are rooting for him all the way!….WOOOO!
9:01 pm on February 19th, 2015
Rose!…I am very relieved to hear you say you will read something else…phrew!
9:02 pm on February 19th, 2015
Idol!…Is starting!…Yip!Yip!Yip!
9:04 pm on February 19th, 2015
I’m with you on Daniel Seavey, Rio. Does that two-legged just have the best smile? I’m not much of an Idol Watcher…..do you think he has a chance?
9:08 pm on February 19th, 2015
I can answer for Zoe. Mac has not been intact for several years. Dan is and will stay that way for awhile. He has good looks and may pan out to be a good dad.
I have been reading the blog everyday but am wildly busy with too many things.

Mom just got back from Bingo at the senior center. She did not win anything this month. Usually she does.
Yesterday she came home to a card on the door telling her that her “dog” had been running loose in the neighborhood. She called animal control and so far there has not been any mention of a fine. That Belle is just a trouble maker plain and simple. We have no idea how she is getting out.
We loved all the doggie pictures, BooBear.
Stay toasty, my friends

Barb would freak out if either of us ever left the yard, unless we were attached to the leash that she was holding. No unauthorized walkabouts will ever happen around here.
I knew you were going to tell Wose not to read the book, Rio. I didn’t say a word!

Good day all. I didn’t get an email from BooBear , Can someone send it to me?
Busy day here but I managed a 2-hour nap. It looks like I will be catless by the time my Iditarod guests arrive. Scared cat will be taken to a new home on Saturday IF I can get her in a carrier. Actually, she has been so much better. I even pat her as she sashays past me in the morning. I know she will go back to hiding in her new home but hopefully will come around. The new owner said that she had had a cat for 13 years and she couldn’t pat it for 6 years! What is it anyway with these scared cats?
Tomorrow will be an “at home” day. Waking Sadie and organizing house.
Oodles of noodles
