Good morning, everyone! Pre-ordering, wowser, what an idea! Sorry we missed ML last night. We really miss her and her girls. Another cold grey one here. Got errands to do this a.m. BBL
Have a monolithic Monday.

Good morning!

We know there are many Family members who are feeling their losses heavily this holiday season. We are sending hugs and husky kisses to each and everyone of you. ML, we are glad you posted.
Speaking of loss, here is the FOC that greeted us when we opened the blog this morning. Notice Dima on the screen next to Buddy. Sniff
9:12 am on December 8th, 2014
I have pre-ordered.
Good morning all.
9:24 am on December 8th, 2014
Pre-ordered here too. We’re on top of it.
Top of the morning to you all. ^..^
9:54 am on December 8th, 2014
Pre-order? Sheesh, we are lucky if we have any sense of order at any time, never mind in the pre-stage
10:26 am on December 8th, 2014
T & G, we here feel your pain. We are trying to get some holiday stuff done. Most of the shopping is done, but now it is time to tackle cards and gift wrapping.
10:34 am on December 8th, 2014
Barb- you are one of the most organized people we know. Your life makes a precision drill team look like an exercise in chaos
10:42 am on December 8th, 2014
Ummm, right. Thanks for the visual, but afraid we fall waaay short of that.
Nice picture of Buddy and Dima up above.
Sorry we missed ML last night, but glad to see that she is back. Holidays are so hard for those that have just experienced a major loss. Wrap yourself in the love of those around you.
10:59 am on December 8th, 2014
Good Morning! Good to hear from ML last night.
11:02 am on December 8th, 2014
Mom just checked in to say her kitty scan is clear. Yippee!
11:04 am on December 8th, 2014
WAAAAAHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
11:06 am on December 8th, 2014
Yiippeee for clear kitty scans!
First morning on my own in awhile. Dogs are fed. I am fed. Dishes are washed. Can’t face the bills yet. Baby steps.
Great day to all, or the best possible. Love you.
11:07 am on December 8th, 2014
BTW that was from mom, not me.
11:13 am on December 8th, 2014
Yay! A clean cat scan. Happy dance here.
Hi, MTMP and ML.
11:15 am on December 8th, 2014
MTMP, what a great surprise to come back to!
11:33 am on December 8th, 2014
I can’t leave y’all alone for even just a minute without I forget who people are. Who came back? Looking forward to new stuff next year. I haven’t preordered anything…I’m kind of like others in the whole order? What’s order? department. A clean desk is a sign of a cluttered desk drawer after all…and my desk is not clean.
Lots going here. I find myself in a change of job situations…meaning the one I was doing I’m not doing anymore. Looking forward to the birth of pups, then to getting one of those home in March. Then veterinary assistant school in July. I think I must be crazy. And Christmas coming up, too. Good times.

Judy (MPM) please check your SDD
Hi to LouLou!
11:48 am on December 8th, 2014
Hello from the closet…
It is dark and glooomy in here. We are boycotting sunlight because of those &%:$# black kitties. Spawn of Satan that is what I say. hisssssss. Staff and Mr. think they are so cute. And they are not clipping off their claws like they did to me 13 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. Those claws are sharp. They will be sorry!
At least the kittens have bells on them so I know when they are coming around and I can hisssss at them. So far they seem respectful of my hisssss.
Now Abbie doesn’t have the right hissing attitude and they just prance up to her and then they chase her back to her place behind the bedroom door or on the floor next to the radiator in Staff’s temporary sewing room.
At least the staff lock the little buggers up at night so I can come out and eat and take care of business and perhaps make Staff and Mr.Staff a little sad about my enforced closetness. (((Sigh)))
11:51 am on December 8th, 2014
Buddy and Leno,
M.L. came back. That is Mary Lou mother of Macy the Min-Pin or M.T.M.P. She has been missing in action for a while but she checked back in last night. We miss her, and you too, when you are gone too long.
11:57 am on December 8th, 2014
Thanks Staff. Now I know who that is. Macy I remember. Hey, did that directory ever happen? Read most of yesterday’s posts, so am sort of caught up. Maybe. Hey Alice, keep those kittens in line. Speaking of, Jasper’s getting all domestic and friendly and stuff, even hangs out downstairs quite a bit. He actually sat in my lap for no kidding close to 10 minutes, which is really, really long. Abigail is a handful. She’s developed a taste for iPhone/iPad charging cables. No kidding, we’ve gone through about eight or nine of them in a month. Thank Dog for eBay and cheap iThingy charger cables. The Bitter Yuck doesn’t seem to phase her at all. And of course she never gets them when anyone’s watching.
12:43 pm on December 8th, 2014
Buddy and Leno, the HOH is glad to hear from you and we tell everyone we meet here in TN about your going to vet assist school…GREAT!
ML, we are so glad you are home. Bills come back every month, no problemo!
It is about time that we at this here blog got to love and hug and squeeze with SMILES. ok?
12:53 pm on December 8th, 2014
I read somewhere recently that pre-ordering books is important in getting the books on the bestseller lists. I will pre-order all of Spence’s books.
ML, Welcome back. We love you and missed you. Hugs!
HOH, Very good news!
Alice, I am on your side but you need to become the tough girl I know you are. Don’t let those little brats ruin your life.
Welcome back Buddy and Leno. We are excited for you…going to vet assistant school.
1:17 pm on December 8th, 2014
Has anyone ever noticed that when we think it is grey and ugly, the sun comes out again? We love youse guys! Yep, it is a monolithic Monday 🙂 (Oops, we should have saud, “We love y’all”.)
1:32 pm on December 8th, 2014
Does anyone remember the name of a female author who I think is from Australia. She has written books where she goes back and forth between two time lines. One involved London in WWII and current day. The other was about a child who was a stowaway on a ship from England and she was adopted by a ship captain and raised in Australia. I think one title was similar to The secret Garden.
1:52 pm on December 8th, 2014
Ooh…I love time travel stories. While this isn’t that, I recommend them if you haven’t read them. Have a look for “Blackout” and “All Clear” by Connie Willis. There’s another one as well, same universe, but I can’t remember what it’s called. The two I mention put time traveling students in World War II era London. The one whose title escapes me at the moment puts a time traveling student in mediaeval times.
2:24 pm on December 8th, 2014
Buddy and Leno! It is nice to hear from you.
B,M,&L: that would be Kate Morton. The two time line book was The Secret Keeper, and the other one was The Forgotten Garden. Mom enjoyed them both.
2:44 pm on December 8th, 2014
Howlers, There is a short street in the more rural part of our city called Dima Way. It is in a pretty location. Mom discovered it this morning while trying to find something else.
2:53 pm on December 8th, 2014
Hounds: Cats Doing Scans and bringing out the Best in You!
So Happy to Hear from all our Friends…Siber-H, MTMP’s Mom, and Buddy&Leno…but where-o-where is Our Wose? She has been MIA for sometime now.
2:55 pm on December 8th, 2014
Thank you, it looks like I had mentally combined the two book titles. Has she written any more since?
Dima Way. I like that.
3:00 pm on December 8th, 2014
Siber, Thanks for that. It brought a tear and a smile.
3:06 pm on December 8th, 2014
Haven’t heard from our Wose but she put 2 really neat things into the boutique!
3:20 pm on December 8th, 2014
I don’t think she has posted for 4 or 5 days. Can anyone do a well being check?
3:31 pm on December 8th, 2014
Kate Morton has a new book out, The Distant Hours. Will have to check on that one.
I just texted my neighbor to thank her for a bowl of soup she sent over for lunch. I told her it was delish and it auto corrected to selfish. Selfish soup. Interesting.
The other day Baye sent Kelly a picture of an outfit she was looking at. Kelly does the voice command texting. She told Baye “That’s cute”, and it auto corrected to F U! Good thing she checked before pushing send. LOL
4:31 pm on December 8th, 2014
Auto correct foibles. Our car bluetooths with our iPhone, which is lovely for hands free phone calls when necessary. However, our doctor has a Swedish name and when we tell the car to call her, the car has fits, and tries to call all kinds of numbers – it simply doesn’t understand silent consonants.
4:56 pm on December 8th, 2014
HOH and Lurkers Unite! And check your SDD’s when you get a minute.
5:06 pm on December 8th, 2014
Barb, it’s Kate Morton. The two books are The Forgotten Garden and The Secret Keeper. Both excellent.
5:07 pm on December 8th, 2014
Tupper’s Mama: checed and responded. Does this mean that LL and mom are twins?
5:26 pm on December 8th, 2014
Thanks MPM. Howlers also responded. Thank you both.
5:29 pm on December 8th, 2014
HOH – yup, you are twins. Hope you don’t both go to the same party on the same night. No one will be able to tell you apart.
5:33 pm on December 8th, 2014
BTW, I am wearing my snowflake earrings quite a lot. They are so cute. Since they are winter and not strictly Christmas, I think I will be able to wear them till the end of March. By then it will be time to kiss the winter goodbye.
6:26 pm on December 8th, 2014
Well past time we would say!
8:00 pm on December 8th, 2014
Christmas!….Movie favorites!…snort!…We need some ideas. So far we have watched “Meet Me In St Louis”, and “The Bishops Wife”…wheeze!…But we need to order a few more and can’t think of any beyond “Rudolf” and “Charlie Brow Christmas”…sniff!…Does anyone have any good ideas?…grunt!
8:05 pm on December 8th, 2014
Tupper’s Mama: HOH and I would wear our matching poodle skirts to the party!
8:06 pm on December 8th, 2014
The Green Bay Packers game is coming on now. I get to prove my devotion to the other buddy by watching it with him while knitting and not really paying attention. How cunning!
8:09 pm on December 8th, 2014
Rio, “The Christmas Story” (You’ll shoot your eye out and the Bupkiss’s dogs).
8:10 pm on December 8th, 2014
BB, poodle skirt only with a cashmere sweater and class ring!
8:12 pm on December 8th, 2014
Christmas Vacation is our favorite Christmas movie.
The ‘rents just ate roasted turnips and mushrooms for dinner. That’s it. No meat. We cannot imagine such a meal.
Pop is sick, and we are all heading off to bed. Good night from Oley.
8:18 pm on December 8th, 2014
Rio: These are our Favs: Christmas in Connecticut (1945) Barbara Stanwyck
Miracle On 34th Street (1947) Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O’Hara, Natalie Wood.
White Christmas (1954) Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney
8:19 pm on December 8th, 2014
Hounds! Yes! Christmas Story…How could we have forgotten that classic!
8:19 pm on December 8th, 2014
Christmas Vacation is our favorite Christmas movie, but Rio may not like it as well and think us Sibers are somewhat bonkers.
8:21 pm on December 8th, 2014
Rio – Christmas Carol – the Alistair Sim version is the only one worth watching.
But we can’t find it on any channel, not even Netflix
Bwaaa
8:23 pm on December 8th, 2014
Do we get slurpy Pug kisses for 51?
8:28 pm on December 8th, 2014
Siber-H, when Clark Griswold plugs in the lights! A sight to behold! The electric meter too.
8:35 pm on December 8th, 2014
Movies!…We here love Christmas Vacation…snort!…It usually comes on tv at some point, as does Christmas Story….wheeze!…I am looking for some different shows that are rarely shown on regularly scheduled broadcasts. Christmas in Connecticut is a good one and of course White Christmas is a mainstay….snuffle!
8:36 pm on December 8th, 2014
Carol!….Oh! Yes we need to order Christmas Carol with George C. Scott…snort!
8:39 pm on December 8th, 2014
Christmas Carol is another one!
Royals, You are kidding. We Cannot Find It anywhere! What’s up with that? It used to be on TV every year.
8:55 pm on December 8th, 2014
Ooh…Love love love A Christmas Story. Based on a chapter and other bits, I think, from Jean Shepherd’s book “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash”. She was one of a kind, that’s for sure. Also love Miracle On 34th Street. (The radio adaptation of it on Screen Director’s Playhouse was pretty decent too.) Who can forget It’s A Wonderful Life? We of course also have the box set with Rudolph, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Frosty, and Frosty Returns, and The Little Drummer Boy. Frosty Returns is kinda lame though.
8:57 pm on December 8th, 2014
She = Shep … Damn autocorrect. …
9:00 pm on December 8th, 2014
Classic!…Santa Clause Is Coming To Town is on tonight!…snort!…We will be watching it…heh!…Here is a wonderful Classic we found while searching for good old fashioned Christmas movies, “84 Charing Cross Road” – not a total Christmas movie, but really wonderful to watch during the holidays…chuffle!
9:20 pm on December 8th, 2014
I really like Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Always been one of my favorites. I kinda think that Santa from Rudolph was kind of an ass. Well…pretty much everyone at the North Pole, except for Clarice, Rudolph, and Herbie, was kind of an ass. Until they figured out they needed something from the misfits.
9:53 pm on December 8th, 2014
Thief! Our brother, Doc is getting more comfortable in the house. Last night he stole the sheep out of the Nativity display and then went back for the shepherd. We think he is working his way up to the baby Jesus. He makes us so proud.
10:01 pm on December 8th, 2014
We are saying good night all.
10:05 pm on December 8th, 2014
Doc!…He is truly and finally Retired…heh!heh!..Santa Claus is Coming To Town is starting right now. Beau and I are in front of the TV….snorkel!
10:36 pm on December 8th, 2014
We missed Santa Claus coming to town? Oh noooooooo!
