“Until the end,” says Spence.
“True, but by then he’s under the influence of – “
“Shh! No spoilers.”

ARRRRGGGGGHHH,
My Kindle stopped! Carpola, Snigglefritz!
9:08 am on January 19th, 2012
Robbie has arrived on my kindle. I wonder whether I should take the kindle to work.
Since I’m a volunteer worker, they can’t fire me.
9:14 am on January 19th, 2012
TYB, take it to work!
My Kindle has decided to be so low in battery that it won’t even turn on, but I was able to put Robbie on the other Kindle! (which Zoe is taking with her). Sooooo, I’m waiting for the Kindle to power up and/or USPS. Whichever comes first.
9:15 am on January 19th, 2012
Got mine! Woo hoo!
9:30 am on January 19th, 2012
Feeling way out of it. Like a wallflower. Like the only fish in the sea. Like no one cares at all. Like MY FREAKING KINDLE HASN’T POWERED UP YET!
9:41 am on January 19th, 2012
Brother!… Melanie is having a melt-down in front of us…grunt!… I’m happy just knowing my copy has been shipped and is somewhere in the postal service hands….wuffle!
Admin!… Congratulations to the Charming Mr. Abrahams! …snort!snort!….This book has taken FOREVER to be released!! Finally, finally it will be here in just a few days (hopefully)….Wooooooo!
9:44 am on January 19th, 2012
Well, since I DON’T have anything to read …
Yes, MagPie, tell Barb I did see it was PUPcycles. Just try telling that to my automatic spell fixer thingy.
YSAS is filming the correct scenes in the movie today! He got to CT very late last night. Was taken to the hotel and then woke up early (for him) for an 8 am call time.
Going back into the city some time today.
We’re getting snow this evening and tonight. Less than MagPie I think. As of last count it was going to be 3.5 inches. And we all know how well the forecasting has been so far this season. 🙂
Other news. Dan has the x-ray on Monday. We’ll know then if healing is doing it’s thing. If so, he can start putting weight on his leg during PT.
Soooooooooo, just sitting around here WAITING.
9:45 am on January 19th, 2012
Hi Riö, it just might be a few of us today!
9:50 am on January 19th, 2012
Cool!… Fine with me. I’m used to being practically alone on this here blog…heh!heh!…It will be like the Good Ole Daze…snort!
9:52 am on January 19th, 2012
Snort! Right back at ya!
Was doing work for YSAS and found this image from NOAA.
Looks like that storm BSD and Masquers are having is hooked to the storm that is hitting IL, IN, some of MI and now moving into NY.

9:57 am on January 19th, 2012
Morning All!
Rebecca: I hope you are on the mend. I hope that you are getting extra care and sympathy from A.J. and Belle.
Brrr…a Chilly 19 degrees this morning in Westchester.
9:59 am on January 19th, 2012
Eeryone – pray for a major snowfall for here for Saturday morning. If we have a city wide snow emergency, CLL will be closed for the day. And since I am the only one working……
aha! you say…there had to be SOME reason why the Royal’s Mum is actually HOPING for snow.
Sitting and waiting for the furniture delivery truck to show up. Leaving for CLL in a few minutes, but Dad stays home to engineer the placement of the sofa.
Hope to talk to you all later- remember – big snow – early Saturday am – for this area – and then melting later in the afternoon.
9:59 am on January 19th, 2012
BTW…Belle, promise me you’ll be an extra good girl, and take good care of your two-legged mom.
Barb: And how are you?
10:16 am on January 19th, 2012
Melanie – I care.
Rio – Guess the Marauding Goats got your book. That’s just awful.
10:19 am on January 19th, 2012
Snowing and blowing here. My copy of Robbie should be delivered today but I still have Bluecat’s copy. (I’ll be mailing it back to you tomorrow Bluecat.)
Good morning all.
10:32 am on January 19th, 2012
Goats!…Got my Robbie?…snort!…Now why would you say an aweful thing like that Mollys Mom?…grunt!…I’m almost positive it will show up by this weekend…sniffle!
10:43 am on January 19th, 2012
Rio – The MG’s really like the flavor of PA’s books. Plus, you should have it by today since you pre-ordered and today is the release day.
10:46 am on January 19th, 2012
We here are one up on y’all. We got an advance peek at Robbie. Enjoy!
Biting cold here. Chickens are fine with their little heater blasting in the coop. Goaties were shivering a tad with the temp -2 and dropping. Wind chill will make it -15. Barb wrapped up in 4 layers this morning before venturing out. Took hot water to the goats again and they appreciated it. Maybe we will ad tea bags next time. heh!
No snow yet, but by late tomorrow we should have an additional 6-8″. Fun in Illinois in January!
10:51 am on January 19th, 2012
GAH!…I just re-read the email Amazon sent me yesterday…grump!…It says “Estimated date of delivery with or without Goat interference is Monday, January 23.”….grumble!
11:33 am on January 19th, 2012
Rio. Amazon usually does better than their estimated delivery date, so keep you paws crossed and it may arrive sooner than that.
Melanie. Hope your Kindle powers up soon.
Did anyone see the article in the NYT about Izzy, the food contraband sniffing beagle who works at JFK airport in NY? Just amazing. I’ve got the linke to the article below.
Wookie
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/18/cute-but-tough-with-a-nose-for-the-food-in-your-bags/?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=tha29
12:01 pm on January 19th, 2012
Confiscated! …Horse Meat sausages!?…gag!…I sure hope the Howlers don’t read that article…snort!
12:14 pm on January 19th, 2012
Thank you Wookie. That’s an interesting article (and a smart beagle!)
12:17 pm on January 19th, 2012
Melanie – Your weather map will now show the snow is moving into western New York. Ski country is forecast to have only 3 – 8 inches. We need more.
12:21 pm on January 19th, 2012
Quickly checking in…snow is coming down once again…90,000 customers in south of here without power. Lights here are flickering.
12:22 pm on January 19th, 2012
Molly’s Mom: Happy to send you some!
12:24 pm on January 19th, 2012
Senses!… I love to eat but I can’t chew very well…sneeze!…My teeth don’t come together quite right. Now Beau, he has beautiful straight white teeth which he keeps sharpened at all times…heh!.. I can smell better than he does because my nose is not as flat. I think it has to do with him having those papers (that I’ve never seen)…heh!… I can see really well though and I don’t think Beau, papered as he is, has that great of eye-sight. Someone here thinks that may be why he is snappish at times. He can’t see those fingers coming at him till they are really close and that scares him…gruffle! … All he needs is a good set of pugged-out eye glasses and he will be fine….sniff!
12:32 pm on January 19th, 2012
Wookie: Excellent article! That guy is putting his great sense of smell to work for a good cause.
12:36 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio – Maybe Beau can piddle on those papers (that you’ve never seen) instead of the couch.
12:39 pm on January 19th, 2012
IT’S HERE! I just finished some work on the computer and though, what the hey, should look and not only I’m I powered up but there was Robbie! Hip Hip Hurrah!
Masquers stay safe. Send your snow to MollyPop’s Mom and to The Royals.
It is now up to 20 degrees! Up from -1.
BBL
1:00 pm on January 19th, 2012
Horsemeat sausages??? Despicable! How about those dried deer p e n i s e s ? Even we wouldn’t eat those!
How much snow do you have, Masquers?
1:37 pm on January 19th, 2012
rassm frassm daggone pitooey fooey!
She just HAD to have a new sofa, right? Just couldn’t live without a sofa that humans could sit on. Who cares about the poor little kitties who loved how the cushions sunk in? Who cares that the old sofa had just the right amount a clearance for balls to roll under. How are we going to ever get Mama and Dad to play fetch now? They look so cute when they are laying on the floor with their butts in the air trying to get our bell balls out from under a couch. But NOOOOO – they have to get a NEW couch that comes almost right to the floor. Only way we are going to get a ball under there is if Dad steps on it first and flattens it out.
Someone call the SPCA – this has GOT to qualify as abuse!
1:43 pm on January 19th, 2012
Since I appear to be on a roll with articles, another one that I think may be of interest concerns the apparent demise of the “Poe Toaster”, a tradition in Baltimore than apparently spanned more than 70 years, of a person dressed in black, with a white scarf and wide-brimmed hat, leaving three roses and a half a bottle of cognac at Poe’s gravesite on his birthday. The Poe Toaster has now not appeared for the last three years, and his followers believe it may be the end of the tradition. While it doesn’t directly concern the nation-within-a-nation, it at least has clear literary significance, as Poe is considered one of the fathers of the modern mystery novel.
Wookie (ps — the picture of me, Rio and Spence was up in FOC when I posted this)

1:44 pm on January 19th, 2012
Howlers: About 8 inches as of now, and this area is considered part of the “banana belt” (a misnomer for this week, heh) some higher elevations and south of Seattle reporting around 2 feet. Now over 100,000 without power. No planes arriving or leaving out of Sea-Tac early this morning…some runways open again. Governor has declared a State of Emergency.
Bear is still concerned about power outages and is rechecking batteries, the emergency radio and small propane heater. Also, I see he is stuffing food in his mouth while hot food is still an option. Snicker
Sigh…waiting for the predicted rain and warmer temperatures to arrive…..
To all the Plunderers in the path of this storm – stay safe and warm.
1:56 pm on January 19th, 2012
Weather-Kat!…Please, oh please, tell me that storm is moving East and not South-East…grunt!…I don’t think I want any more snow this winter. No, I really don’t …wheeze!
2:10 pm on January 19th, 2012
I knew about the Poe Toaster but didn’t realize that he had been absent for three years.
I love Pendleton.
2:19 pm on January 19th, 2012
Please stay safe BSD and Masquers and Nana!
2:40 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio: Happy to say you are out of storm path way.

2:50 pm on January 19th, 2012
I am soooooooo enjoying myself!
3:03 pm on January 19th, 2012
Pendelton!…Rub it in why don’t youse guys!…snort!…At least I have sunny warm weather…heh!
3:19 pm on January 19th, 2012
Snow Bear – Nature’s Art on a Snowy Day
3:19 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio: It’s sunny here also though only 21.
I like Robbie also.
3:27 pm on January 19th, 2012
Lovely picture Masquers
I’ve stopped reading for today.
3:35 pm on January 19th, 2012
Not me, B.Stover, got to finish. Then tomorrow, re-read!!! Have to know what happens and then go back to savor.
3:44 pm on January 19th, 2012
Hmmmmphf!…grump!
3:46 pm on January 19th, 2012
Soap!…All I have to look forward to is the daily installment of As The Couch Turns….chuffle!
3:46 pm on January 19th, 2012
Melanie: I savor as I read!
Poor Rio. When is your copy arriving?
3:51 pm on January 19th, 2012
The Robbie book has arrived!!!
That makes up for the fact that it is sunny and warm here and Bear’s storm is going to miss me.
Thanks for the link, Wookie. I knew about the Poe Toaster but at the same time had forgotten about it.
Rio, That is an interesting thought that maybe Beau can’t see too well. That could be the case.
Lovely picture of snow, Masquers.
3:54 pm on January 19th, 2012
Great snow picture, Weatherkat. Mom says it almost makes her miss that white stuff. We definitely miss it!
4:06 pm on January 19th, 2012
Copy!…I don’t know. Amazon says next Monday and Wookie says it could be earlier so that leaves Friday or Saturday or Monday….grunt!
4:07 pm on January 19th, 2012
Gadzooks!…Even SiberH has received his copy! He never gets anything early…grumble!
4:08 pm on January 19th, 2012
Sometimes all we have to share is Love.

Angels of the Human Spirit
4:19 pm on January 19th, 2012
BSD, That is a sweet picture! It almost makes me a little teary. That person doesn’t have much, but his dog loves him, and he loves his dog. It looks like a can of dog food on the left, and a doggy toy peeking out from under the blankets.
Still sunny here, and no snow so far.
4:20 pm on January 19th, 2012
Masquers: your photo could almost be a duplicate of the view out my back door–a view that I have for 8 months of the year. My trees are skinnier though.
4:36 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio, Last October when mom was out of the room, I subscribed to Amazon Prime.
5:09 pm on January 19th, 2012
Masquers: I love that picture. Westchester does not look like that.
Bear: No words are needed to describe this picture. I think I need a Kleenex….
5:19 pm on January 19th, 2012
Bear, where is that picture taken? So touching. We love those guys.
5:23 pm on January 19th, 2012
Siber: Amazon says it has a valid excuse this time. Shipments to Washington, Idaho and Oregon have been delayed due to the snow storm. A likely story. sniff
5:24 pm on January 19th, 2012
Here are two semi-interesting new stories: Evidently the captain of the cruise ship Concordia, that hit the rocks off Italy last Friday and is sinking, told newsmen that he didn’t jump ship. He tripped and fell into a rescue boat. Really?
Out in California near the famous Hollywood sign, a lady was on a trail, walking her dog off leash. He ran into the underbrush and came out with a plastic grocery bag. Whe he started to play with it he shook it and out popped a head! Could you imagine! It is so gross that it is amost funny, in a really depraved sort of way.
5:29 pm on January 19th, 2012
Masquers – lovely picture. Hope you have lots of batteries and power outage supplies.
7 DAYS TO GO!!!
Crazy Lady is telling customers that Mama will still be there “part time”.
No, she won’t. She will be home sitting on her new sofa or working in her new clay work area.
5:42 pm on January 19th, 2012
T & G, The CL is sort of like a bad boyfriend that won’t break up with you no matter what you say!
Macy, Meant to comment on your post last night. We were watching CSI too, since it’s Ms. Willow’s last 2 shows. Wow, that was powerful!
5:42 pm on January 19th, 2012
O.Howlers: We, too, found that photo unusually touching. Nana shared it from Dog Bless You’s facebookie page.
Barb&Maggie: Life is indeed stranger than fiction. The ship’s captain “falling into the life boat” is…well…unbelievable, and the “severed head” story could easily be the beginning of a new SK or Koontz novel.
5:55 pm on January 19th, 2012
What happened to our avatar?
BSD, Yes, or maybe even a PA book for adults. Might be a little graphic for “young readers”.
Barb says it is quitting time at the office, so heading home. BBL
5:59 pm on January 19th, 2012
Bear, That is a wonderful photo, but sniff. I wish we knew more about it.
Masquers, I’d give Amazon the benefit of the doubt on this one. They seem to try very hard to have happy customers.
6:26 pm on January 19th, 2012
Mom finally came home and opened up our Kindle and presto, chango…there it is! Robbie!
6:36 pm on January 19th, 2012
That second story reminds me of a weird thing that happened to me and the guys when we were taking the Pack for a walk. We were up in the forest preserve where there is an old old Scout camp. It’s used now by “hooligans” and such. Ros and Grace came out of an out building with a HEAD! Talk about adrenaline rush … It was a manikin head with a wig. The guys walked over to the outbuilding and there was the body, and various other junk. But Good Dog! It really was an SK moment in our heads!
Finished Robbie! I have to finish or I’ll read until 3 or 4 in the morning. Then tomorrow I get to start again!
7:21 pm on January 19th, 2012
BSD: That picture is the image of love.
I’m back in the land of the living. Somewhat. I am feeling every one of my years and several of AJ’s years as well. Last night was a long night. My hand throbbed throughout the night. I stayed at home and have been resting all day.
7:25 pm on January 19th, 2012
Great picture Bear. There is no need for words. The image says it all.
7:28 pm on January 19th, 2012
Bella, Zoë says she sic Franklin on you if you don’t rest. And he’s heavy!
7:33 pm on January 19th, 2012
Melanie: Tell Zoe, I appreicate the offer. Franklin will have to share space with Tenzing, Luna, and her dog Belle Starr. Tenzing and Luna have been staying close to me. Belle Starr just doesn’t want to be left out.
8:22 pm on January 19th, 2012
Hey all! We are warm and snug here in our little apartment in the middle of the mitten. Stay warm and dry friends.
Speaking of friends…here’s a clue to what Beau has been up to…
8:32 pm on January 19th, 2012
Good to hear from you Bella – but so sorry that you are hurting.
Jasper – we love your “Tails from the Mitten”
Barb – hope you are back to feeling tip top after your fall.
Its snowing buckets here. No no no – we need the snow SATURDAY morning!
8:44 pm on January 19th, 2012
BSD, that picture is so beautiful, it makes me very teary.
Barb, i expect that story to be on CSI sometime soon.
Hi everyone!
9:01 pm on January 19th, 2012
Hi Liz!!!
9:03 pm on January 19th, 2012
Liz, That is esactly the way CSI would start, or maybe Bones!
9:06 pm on January 19th, 2012
Hi Jasper!
T&G, haven’t even looked outside! You have the snow, I’m not going to admit we’re getting any.
Had a long talk with YSAS while he was waiting in CT for the train. Filming went well. Director and Producer love him. When he told them he was wrapped, they didn’t believe it. Looked through the entire script. So they said, Okay you’re wrapped unless we call you back this weekend. “Ginger head kid” New nickname.
I have a had good day. Acupuncture went well, did some good work today, got to read a new book by my favorite author!
Tomorrow? Mattie is going to the vet to see if she needs thyroid. She’s sleeping more, coat is harsh, skin dry … wait, I’m I talking about Mattie or Moi?
Picture is going to haunt me for awhile. Not the HP dog, the other one!
TTFN
9:30 pm on January 19th, 2012
Yawn. Three days of work and I am shot! Goodness I think I will try to get to bed the same time as Melanie tonight. Hope all you people with snow get some decent weather soon. Except for Mollypop’s Mom. Hope you get more.
HI LIZ!
Night Liz!
Rio I don’t have my Robbie yet either. sniff sniff sniff…
9:38 pm on January 19th, 2012
Maybe we could convince a certain author to write the story. Time for another adult thriller…what do you say PA?
When Melanie and the Pack say good night we know it’s supper-time. After that…a movie. Tonight we are watching Ides of March, which is supposed to be very good.
Until tomorrow, take care – Bear
9:59 pm on January 19th, 2012
Typical!… It’s been one of those evenings…sniff!….I know someone is upset but I don’t know what to do….sniffle!… Beau even knows something is wrong but all he can do is sleep in her lap…grunt! ….So to make matters better we are all watching Downton Abbey but it is sad too….wuffle!… I won’t say where we are in the story but I will say it involves a bathtub full of water and a bar of soap…shudder!…The two worth things in the whole bathroom in my opinion….huffle!
10:01 pm on January 19th, 2012
grunt!…worth = worst…dammit!
10:06 pm on January 19th, 2012
Dang, i went out to lunch and missed your bedtimes again!
Ides of March is good but really predictable – I’m interested to see what you think, Bear. Here it’s still on at the cinema.
10:06 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio: Tenzing agrees—there is nothing worth than a bath—that and having your temperature taken by the vet.
10:18 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rebecca!…How are you feeling tonight?…sniff!… Tomorrow you go get X-rayed. What time will that be anyways?…wuffle!
10:21 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio: I rested all day. I haven’t been wearing the brace on my hand today because it was quite uncomfortable. It feels like I can move it better today. The doctor told me to call tomorrow about the xrays, so I’m not sure what time that will be. I don’t think anything is broken or snapped in two—just tenderized.
10:29 pm on January 19th, 2012
We are watching The Firm.
Ordered A Leap of Faith from Netflix for the weekend. Family, feel good type movie, but supposed to be good if you like horses.
Snow will start sometime before morning.
Rio, hope your friend feels happier, and Rebecca, good luck at the docs. tomorrow.
Joining Melanie and Bear in saying good night, and sweet dreams.
10:32 pm on January 19th, 2012
Fall!…What exactly were you doing when you took this big fall?…sniff!….Were you at home out in the kennel feeding Junior?…wuffle!….Did he jump on you and knock you down?? Or is it Lefty and Pancho to blame for all this pain and agony?? ….grunt!
10:46 pm on January 19th, 2012
Rio: The only thing to blame for my fall is a very complex equation: ice + lack of coordination(gravity) = ouch!
I fell when I was walking out to the car to go pick up Handler Jeremy when his car broke down. It’s not a very good story, but it’s the truth.
11:04 pm on January 19th, 2012
I’d blame the ice exclusively, Rebecca – even a coordinated person could have the same accident.
12:44 am on January 20th, 2012
Liz: Thanks for making me feel better about one of my less than finer moments. I hope you’re doing well—it’s good to see you back on the blog.
5:34 am on April 28th, 2014
What a stuff of un-ambiguity and preserveness of precious experience on the topic of unpredicted feelings.
Here is my web site build muscle
