We love ACWI! It is special.
As long as they shared the money with Spence, the publisher should have charged a buck or two more for the story.
At the end of the story, keep turning and turning the pages until you come to the last page where you can rate the story. Of course, I gave it 5 stars.

There were so many little details that I just loved!…snort!….Like how Bernies’ eyes looked when he found out that someone’s boyfriend manufactures Hawaiian shirts…chorkel!…So many fun things in the story. Has anyone without an iPad, Nook or Kindle been able to get this book?
I don’t own any ereaders and have been trying to find any version of the book I can download on my MacBook Pro to read.
I’ve got Adobe ePub but cannot find a version that is not proprietary to Kindle, Nook or iPad.
I want to read this book!
Blio has ePub but says it hasn’t been released yet. Same with any NON amazon, itunes and barnes&noble ebook publisher.
Can anyone tell me where to get this book? I already wasted $1 in the iTunes store for it and can’t read it. I don’t want to keep buying versions of it all over and find I can’t read it again and again.

Hey, y’all! Mom had to leave work early to do a dinner for someone at church, so while she was cooking, I was reading! Woo hoo! It was a great read (sorry, Bee!), but like Rio said, I just wanted it to keep going!
With my spotty memory, I can’t remember: Do any of the books discuss why Bernie left the police force in the first place? Or is this a chance for a pre-Chet prequel?

The Launching of the Promo for the Web Series is now August 24, 2012! YSAS is very excited. It will be in a theater (play not movie) where it will be shown. Then they are going to do like a Kickstart (but I don’t know if that’s actually it) and hopefully get enough money to do the web series.
I will be attending Northampton, MA Sept. 12! No one better get in my way.

Just so anyone on a Mac knows, you can’t get an iBooks reader except for iPhone, iPad and iPod. So if you buy the book through the iTunes store, like I did, you’ve wasted $1.00 because there is no way to read it on a laptop.
I have the Adobe ePub reader so I had to find a version that that could read. That means NOT amazon or Barne’s & Noble or any of the other eReader suppliers.
Since you can’t purchase and download from Simon & Schuster I had to find an ePub provider. I went through some of their links until I ended up on eBooks.com (BTW I get a 404 error with the link on this blog post)
The download is awkward but I eventually got it into the Adobe ePub reader and read it.
The story’s great. Chet & Bernie are such a good fit. Rick may not have known exactly why he felt the two should be together but intuition is a great thing, even if you’re not aware of the extent of the results.
I thought Chet came into Bernie’s life before the divorce, but I may have been misremembering.
I can see A Cat was Involved being expanded into a full fledged book. There are plenty of other cases that have been alluded to by Chet that happened before the first book, or could have, that we haven’t been witness to. I can see putting them all together, perhaps in short story form, and having a whole other book. In print. Considering the number, maybe An Orange Jumpsuit was Involved.
Oh, and Ramses says “HI”.

Favorite scene alert: I love how Chet welcomed himself to Bernie’s house and the scene in the kitchen was heartwarming. How would Bernie have known that particular dish needed breaking if Chet hadn’t guided the way?

You know, Chet does have one cat-like trait. I understand from cat owners that cats choose you, not the other way around. That scene where Rick brings Chet over is like that. It’s like Chet chose Bernie as his owner. Well, some mutual choosing.
Bringing it back to John Unger and Schoep, Bernie may have taken Chet in for what Chet could do for him. But eventually I see Bernie doing what he can FOR Chet. Ball tossing, Slim Jims. Of course, Chet will never age.

Maybe Bernie and Leda reconcile for a little while and that’s what Chet talks about when he remembers times with Leda. We remember him talking about accidently tearing up certain items of hers. Charlie meets Chet and convinces Leda that they need to move back, but we know that won’t work….
Loved the short story. Chet’s first time riding shotgun!! (and we felt sorry for Butch too).
Wose, Mom is so jealous!! She and Dad want to go so bad!!! They are thinking about another Alaska cruise with family, but that would pretty much eliminate a trip to the Iditarod anytime in the near future. Rebecca, what date does it start next year?

G&BB:We were so sorry to hear about Ishmael. Mom has had several Siamese kats — she says they’re her favorite. (But not as favorite as mutt dogs, I’m sure!) Her last Siamese was named Chopsticks. Mom got him when he was 6 weeks old, and he was 22 when he died. Like you, Mom knew from his breathing that he was dying, and luckily her very understanding boss gave her the day off so she could stay with him. She was holding him when he died, and counts that as one of her best — and worst — experiences. Our thoughts are with all of you.

We just finished it here, dad reading it aloud to mom and me. They were originally going to save it for the weekend, but mom could tell that dad really wanted to read it right away, so she said that would be just fine, even though we were in the middle of the latest Andy Carpenter book. They were both glad too, because they enjoyed it so very much,, even laughing out loud at times, as did moi. Just makes waiting for FOC even harder though.

G&BB: The race starts the first weekend in March every year with pre-race activities getting started a few days before like the musher’s banquet where AJ draws his bib number. The standing invitation is extended to all Plunderers. Rio is right—there is a nearby vacation rental and airfare sky rockets the closer we get to the race. Maybe the Plunderers can carpool…

Rio: I will start paying attention to the cabin when they start bedazzeling it. I do know that it has a roof and my two-legged made a ladder all by herself so you can get into the loft space. I don’t think my Bearded One had much faith, but he forgot that my two-legged lived in a small barn a few years before she met him. She could remember the ladder and built it to the ‘feel’ of what she remembered, whatever that means.
