Prequel!
“Do we have an announcement?” Admin says.
“We do,” says Spence. “This summer there will be an e-book original, as they’re called, of Chet and Bernie. It’s the length of a pretty long short story, and takes place during a crucial twenty-four hour period in the lives of C and B.”
“Are we talking about the day they met?”
“We are.”
“What happened?”
“For that, you’ll have to wait for publication. More to come on the date, the title, etc. But for those who don’t have a Kindle or Nook or any of those devices, there’s still a way. All you have to do is download Adobe Digital Editions or Kindle for PC and you can download the short story to read on any computer or PDF reading device that’s compatible.”
“Sounds easy, relatively,” Admin says. “And now, in answer to those who wonder where the image of Dog On It went here on our new (and very nice, in my opinion) redesign, it’s still down at the bottom. The same thing will happen to Thereby Hangs A Tail when the book after A Fistful Of Collars comes out, and so on.”
“Till the end of time?”
“And beyond!”

Greetings All!
No rain today, and what’s this????? The sun is actually peeking out of a blue sky.
Thank you Leonard and Amalia for your lovely prayer last night…
Let’s go Yankees!
About the Prequel….Can’t wait until it comes out! Still Spence and Admin keeping up the suspense….What do you mean this summer???? I need dates.
Strong prayers for Dan, Zoe, Melanie and Martha.

It’s still snowing here in ski-less country. I know it’s doing this to annoy me on purpose.
Today is the New York State primary. I wonder how many people will bother. The Republican nomination seems to be set. Then on election day, we have the electoral college, so an individual’s vote doesn’t count anyway. New York will always go for the Democrat candidate so whether I want that or not, it doesn’t matter.
I would like my vote to count.
9:12 am on April 24th, 2012
Good morning Rose. Hope you are tip top. No sun here so far, but it is supposed to be a nice day.
Hope all is well with Dan and family this morning. Hope Melanie and Zoe had a good night’s sleep.
The other day when we read “no baseball in Slovernia” we read it as “Stovernia” Thought he was making a reference to our Bee. I bet there would be no baseball in Stovernia, right? Government edict!
9:22 am on April 24th, 2012
Excellent news about the short story. Thank you Spence and Admin.
Mollypop: Your vote does count even if for the electorial college.
Barb: The tyrant of Stovernia….me….would condemn baseball and fine anyone who mentioned it.
9:45 am on April 24th, 2012
And in Stovernia, President Bee would decree reading to be the national pastime. There would be citations for poor grammar, and it would be a capital offense to use the word “read” as a verb.
‘Let them eat banana bread, she will say!
9:47 am on April 24th, 2012
Baseball!….Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball!Baseball! Baseball! Baseball!Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball! Baseball!…snort!
Baseball! …puffle!…Glad I got that out of my system!….whew!
Beginnings!….I can’t wait for the Short Story…heh!….And the Blood!….snort!
9:52 am on April 24th, 2012
My goodness, I am twirling with delight! A prequel, coming soon!
But it isn’t about Ingrid. Sigh. I have now accepted the fact that we will never know whatever it is that we wanted to know about Ray and his son.
But I just know that we will laugh and laugh when we read about Chet and the Kat!
9:56 am on April 24th, 2012
I think we have opposing camps here. Funny comments from Wolfie and Rio!
9:57 am on April 24th, 2012
Lol, Rio, I hope that Madam President will allow you to bring your new computer to jail with you!
Don’t count on it.
I hope Dan had a good night.
9:58 am on April 24th, 2012
Crap, I just noticed a punctuation error on one of my posts.
10:10 am on April 24th, 2012
Wolfie, If this is your first offense, President Bee may go easy on you.
Hope to hear from Melanie soon.
10:28 am on April 24th, 2012
Good Morning all, zzzzz, please excuse any Katnaps that zzzzzz I might take. zzzzz
Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts for all of us here. We had to leave before Dan went to his room. He didn’t get there until 8pm. When he called he told me he would be resting today and was in the executive suite. Hmmm
I called this morning and he’s not in his suite but doing a bunch of tests.
I will be calling him later. Please thank Tenzing for keeping my feet toasty. Umm Patsy ate the toast, sorry about that.
zzzzzzz

Update!…C.Hobbit Harris is doing okay!…snort!snort!…She’s been very busy running around like a little hobbit with its head cut-off…sniff!…I guess getting ready for retirement is very busy business…chuffle!
10:45 am on April 24th, 2012
Do you realize how difficult communication would be without spelling and grammar?
If Rio lived in Stovernia, he would be fined one billion dollars.
Wolfie: It would be a capital offense to use “read” as a noun.
Thank you for checking in Melanie.
The guys were just here to turn on the sprinkler system but said not to start using it until it warms up here. It’s 48 right now.
10:46 am on April 24th, 2012
Good morning, all. A Prequel!!! How super cool is that!
We are laughing at the thought of Bee’s monarchy.
we hope Dan is at peace and enjoying the Executive Suite.
Today is Primary Day here in PA. Mom stole our iPaw to take with her to the polls. It’s so cold here, she had to take a break to thaw out, so we are getting to use the iPaw for just a bit.
10:49 am on April 24th, 2012
Buddy and I are excited to read the prequel about Chet and the wonderful kat. I just know it was C or B’s blood that got spilled. Kats Rule!
10:49 am on April 24th, 2012
Wolfie and all – we bow to the Greater Authority in Stovernia, but we must point out that the correct title for the All Powerful one is Empress Bee.
And we need to know the rest of the groundrules before we set our delicate little toes into her realm.
Grammar – good
B***ball – bad
Banana bread – good
Late papers – bad
Reading – good
“cozy” “read as noun” – bad
What are her edicts on:
Wrotten Kats
Snow vs Dry Winter
Chet and Bernie short vs Astrid
Irrascible Pugs?
10:53 am on April 24th, 2012
Bee, wouldn’t it be Capital offense?
Ha ha ha, get it? You should capitalize the word Capital.
Sometimes I crack myself up!
10:53 am on April 24th, 2012
Tupper and Gilly, reporters!
An e book! Isn’t that grand? I wonder if we’ll get a small portion as a tease. It would have to be short because it’s a short story.
Hmmm, another nap, I think.
10:55 am on April 24th, 2012
Whoops!
Forgot to write …
Google the word “askew” and then look at the page.
10:59 am on April 24th, 2012
Rio gets my vote for best post of the morning and first laugh of the day. BASEBALL, BASEBALL, BASEBALL
okay, In Stoverina, Stover would lock Spence up in jail and/or fine him
Mollypop’s Mom, You sound just like my mom on the subject of politics and voting. Mom has burn out.
Rose, CC pitched a good game yesterday. He was back in fine form. The Rangers lost, GAH
10:59 am on April 24th, 2012
Masquers: LOL! I think the Prof would say the end was already here for some of the students he teaches!
Empress B: May I bring Swedish fish, and peanut M&Ms???
TC: (whispering) I don’t think there will be any kat blood shed in the C&B short-story.
11:02 am on April 24th, 2012
I’m laughing at Rio’s post, because I can just imagine him skipping ever so lightly over the new computer keys….
11:09 am on April 24th, 2012
I’m so looking forward to the longish short story. When the times comes, someone will need to have a little discussion with me about how to download it to my PC.
11:14 am on April 24th, 2012
Also when you are at google – you can celebrate the birthday being honored by sliding the thingie down.
You’ll see what we mean when you go there.
11:29 am on April 24th, 2012
Brother Rio – now ifn’ y’all are gonna be put in prison for sayin that there B word, couplea words of advie for ya.
First off – keep that there har-moniker close by. Ain’t nuthin purtier than the acoustics in a cee-ment cell.
Second – you would have some mighty fine company in that there cell since Spence AND Admin would be right there by you.
Third – you kin count on ole Brother Redbone to smuggle you in some hot wings to make your unfortunate incarceration a might bit easier.
11:35 am on April 24th, 2012
I love all dogs and cats, wrotten or not. I love our pug, especially his curly tail. I don’t worry about weather. I want to read both the short story and the conclusion of the Astrid story.
Wolfie is cracking me up also. And, in case your question was serious: I think “capitol” only has to be capitalized (interesting spelling difference) when referring the congressional building.
11:38 am on April 24th, 2012
Brother!…A bit o’ Shine would go a long way in that cell…sniff!…Wait Admin will be there so maybe a bit more than a bit…heh!
11:40 am on April 24th, 2012
Rose: Of course, Swedish fish (what are they??) and any kind of M&Ms (I know what they are) are always welcome.
11:43 am on April 24th, 2012
Stover!…I love you too…wuffle! sneeze!
11:48 am on April 24th, 2012
Rio: May I pull your tail? Heh!
11:49 am on April 24th, 2012
Project!….heh!heh!…My friend finally got that Mothers Day project off her back …snort!….Now we can really get going on the fun!fun!fun! Spring Boutique stuff…chuffle!….And my treat budget has been replenished…woooooo!wheeeee!
Stover!…I don’t love you That much…grunt!
11:52 am on April 24th, 2012
Rio: LOL! (I don’t remember how to make the lettering pink.)
11:57 am on April 24th, 2012
Looking forward to the prequel.

B: One of my favorite candies
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Fish
12:07 pm on April 24th, 2012
Empress B. I hope you will consider letting Spence have a laptop while he is in incarceration.
No word from our Executive. Will be calling later.
12:12 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rose: I don’t think I’ve ever seen Swedish fish. I’ll have to look when I go to the store. I love licorice.
I went to Google and typed “askew” but….what am I looking for?
Melanie: Spence will definitely have a laptop while incarcerated. (Doesn’t that word sound scary?)
12:20 pm on April 24th, 2012
Those of us in jail will get to read Spence’s stories before anyone else. ha
12:25 pm on April 24th, 2012
Melanie: Seems Dan is making the best of things in his “Executive Suite”, his gift of imagination as a writer coming to his rescue.
B&M: Loved your misreading of yesterdays text as Stovernia. Now the Plunderers have a whole new kingdom to explore.
Rio: Thanks for the update on C.Hobbit.
12:38 pm on April 24th, 2012
SH: In Stovernia people who mention the B word would be fined not put in jail. Actually, that could probably bring in enough to be a substitute for taxation.
12:41 pm on April 24th, 2012
Stover, That just goes to show you how popular BASEBALL is.
12:48 pm on April 24th, 2012
B: I know you’ll just love Swedish Fish. Kats not so much. 🙂
1:05 pm on April 24th, 2012
SH: At least baseball would then have a useful purpose if it were a substitute for taxation. The players would have to pay to play rather then receiving the exorbitant salaries that they receive now.
Rose: I’ll let you know after I try the Swedish fish. (Hope I can find them.)
1:14 pm on April 24th, 2012
Taxation!…Now-a days only make highschool kids pay to play…grunt!
1:19 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rose: You’re right…Kats would not like the little Swedish fish. Aren’t they similar to gummy bears?
1:24 pm on April 24th, 2012
I’ve seen gummy bears at the food counter at movie theaters. Don’t they stick to your teeth….forever?
1:24 pm on April 24th, 2012
Masquers, I know, we really took that and ran with it, didn’t we?
Now we might have another Plunderer’s private jokes that will keep the lurkers guessing!
Anxiously awaiting a Dan update from the Executive Suite.
1:37 pm on April 24th, 2012
Masquers, yes they’re similar to gummy bears, but the consistency is a bit differenet.
B: Yes, they’ll stick to your teeth, but forever isn’t that long in terms of candy…. 🙂 If you can’t find them, let me know….I am the master of candy. If it’s out there, I’ll find it!!!!
1:40 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rose: LOL! Okay, I’ll let you know.
2:14 pm on April 24th, 2012
Junk!…Speaking of Junk Food….snort!… Her mother had her cholesterol checked the other day and it was just Fine!…sniff!…Just goes to show everyone that Zingers, donuts, candy bars, processed cheese, cinnabons, and absolutely No Fruit in ones diet is A-Okay….heh!heh!
2:26 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rio, Mom’s folks were the same way…good cholesterol and a diet just like your friend’s mom if you add in ice cream. Her parents lived to a very old age.
2:27 pm on April 24th, 2012
I hope Spencer looks good in orange!
Dan says they have done a whole bunch of tests! Then he told me about his latest adventure. Seems YSAS and I were sitting in his room having an argument with the staff at the hospital. We have done that. This time YSAS had a withered arm. I’m guessing this one didn’t take place.
Next we’ll talk to his docs and find out what has been actually happening.
2:39 pm on April 24th, 2012
Icecream!…Did I forget to mention Icecream?…snort!…Beau and I get some of that without my friend knowing about it…heh!heh!…Processed cheese too!…yum!
2:44 pm on April 24th, 2012
Something Chet said might be applicable if you replace Kit Carson with Spencer Quinn:
“Note to Kit Carson—there’s an orange jumpsuit in your future.”
I hope I got the quote correct—I’m doing it from memory.
2:58 pm on April 24th, 2012
Kit!…Carson!…snort!…Here is the Kit Carson statue in the Kit Carson Park…wheeze!
3:10 pm on April 24th, 2012
Ice cream….I think there’s a trip to Carvel in mine and the Prof’s future. I really like Dairy Queen better, but that is in Dutchess County…..TOO FAR!!!!
3:18 pm on April 24th, 2012
Empress Bee – if Rio, Spence, Admin and Siber all get incarcerated, can we go too? Sounds like it would be a fun group.
Princess Sam – we keep thinking about you taking walks and being intimidated by that big, bad hawk. We think we have a solution for you:

3:24 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rose, Mom is thinking the same thing since ice cream has been mentioned and it is a hot day here…any old excuse will do.
Kit Carson was a short guy. He lived in Taos, NM, for quite awhile. The house he lived in is still there. He is very well known in the state for his treatment of the Native Americans. It was very, very bad. The Navajo call it, “The Long Walk”.
Many Navajo didn’t survive The Long Walk.
4:23 pm on April 24th, 2012
Yes, T&G, you may go as well.
4:25 pm on April 24th, 2012
I’m going to have ice cream tonight: Haagen-Dazs creme brulee. Yum!
4:31 pm on April 24th, 2012
I just may have to say the dreaded ‘b’ or ‘r’ word so I don’t get left out of the party. Orange has never been a good color for me, but it seems worth the risk.
4:46 pm on April 24th, 2012
Siber: Isn’t Kit Carson supposed to be some kind of hero in the history books, or is my memory failing me?
Ice cream! YES!!! My favorite is Breyers Cherry. Looks like we’ll have to make a store run soon.
5:41 pm on April 24th, 2012
Siber: Never mind…we just did some research and see what you are referring to in your last post. Folk hero, or not, he did some very bad things.
5:53 pm on April 24th, 2012
Bear, that is a very good question. He seems to have been thought of as a hero in the past, but now the whole truth is being told. I don’t know what they are teaching the kids in school about him, if anything.
I read that he didn’t want to move the Navajo and fought with the military command about it. He was just “following orders”. One thing that cannot be disputed is the fact Carson led a massacre of the Navajo in Canyon de Chelly in Arizona.
Custer was once considered a hero. Gah
5:55 pm on April 24th, 2012
Bear, I’m a little slow on the refresh button sometimes.
6:00 pm on April 24th, 2012
T&G, I like the umbrella for fooling the hawks. Mom was thinking about a coat and hood made out of camouflage fabric.
6:01 pm on April 24th, 2012
Siber-H: The refresh button is not my friend either. lol
6:10 pm on April 24th, 2012
Princess Sam: Whitey-Lance has expressed concern that in addition to the threat from above, you might get lost in the snow. He said he would feel better if you wore a red and white jacket like his so you want get mistaken for a snowflake.
6:25 pm on April 24th, 2012
Nothing new to report on the Dan situation. More tests tomorrow.
OTAS did a report on Custer when he was around12. He didn’t like him and titled his report “The Infamous General Custer”. The teacher loved it.
6:27 pm on April 24th, 2012
I went to Sam’s in Buffalo this morning, a 50-mile trip. Sam’s snow turned into rain with temps in the 40’s yesterday afternoon. I left in a snow storm at 32 degrees. As I drove, the snow turned into hail. Oh yes, we had a 35 mph wind also. The roads are at their worst at 32 degrees and the wind didn’t help. After I drove 30 miles, the temp went up and it rained for a while, then all was fine, just windy.
We had skiers out and our local news showed them. Every year, the young ones walk up the hills and ski down, sometimes until the middle of May. This year, the snow disappeared so quickly they couldn’t do that – until today.
6:43 pm on April 24th, 2012
MollysMom: Here’s your 10 day:
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USNY0458
Snow turning into rain by Thursday. Warmer nighttime temps beginning early next week.

Rio, It is dog night at the Pirates ballpark. I saw a pug that looked a lot like you. My fellow Sibers should have gone to the game tonight.
Rockies ahead 2-1. GO ROCKIES!!!
8:44 pm on April 24th, 2012
Princess Sam – we did a lot of searching for something like a coat that would scare hawks away from you – we were thinking something with giant eyes or an open mouth with jagged teeth. then we were thinking about a coat with little mirrors sewn all over it.
According to every web site we looked at – hawks don’t attack little dogs.
HA!
There was also comment after comment from people who had seen it in person. We didn’t read a lot of those – they scared us too much.
But we thought the umbrella would be good – no hawk would ever try to attack a Princess stylin’ a bird proof bumbleshoot!
8:48 pm on April 24th, 2012
Life in Stovernia would be grand. No taxes, because of all the revenue coming in from the ‘B’ word.
No war, because everyone would be having so much fun reading and taking English classes that they wouldn’t have time to fight.
The library would become the State Capital. (Just like the library of congress only better.

Life in Stovernia would be grand. No taxes, because of all the revenue coming in from the ‘B’ word.
No war, because everyone would be having so much fun reading and taking English classes that they wouldn’t have time to fight.
The library would become the State Capital. (Just like the Library of Congress only bigger and more beautiful.)
And best of all, free banana bread for everyone!

Wolfie: Exactly!
8:52 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rats. The first post took off on it’s own. Darn ipaw.

Finally!….wheeze!….We are finally done with all of our outdoor activities so now I can watch the END of the baseball game…grump!…What the hell! Score is still 2 ta 1 at least…sniff!
Dog-night!….WOOOOOO!…How fun would that be for me and all my pals….heh!heh!…
9:01 pm on April 24th, 2012
Masquers, fear not. Mollypop was not dangerous unless you were a fuzzbutt. Her Mom is unarmed unless you consider ski poles.
9:04 pm on April 24th, 2012
And easy chairs for all.
9:08 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rebecca is correct. Everyone should have an easy chair.
9:09 pm on April 24th, 2012
And banana bread with chocolate chips on special holidays.
9:14 pm on April 24th, 2012
And we can declare special holidays any day we want!

Siber, we are a long way from Pittsburgh…thats at the other end of the state. We are phightin phillies phans here all the way.
We are loving all the talk of Stovenia…what a great place!
Mom says we have to go to bed now. She had a long cold day, and has a very early (6:00) workday tomorrow. Goodnight all. G’Day Liz.
9:58 pm on April 24th, 2012
Project!…Someone here made me promise to show Staff the Peonies that my friend “attempted” to make…grunt!…Here they are…sniff!…This was taken early on in during the making of this thing (which she is rid of now)…heh!
10:05 pm on April 24th, 2012

Beau-tiful!….Flowers!….Snort!
10:22 pm on April 24th, 2012
Oh my Dog Rio those peonies are superb. I can see why you had trouble fitting them into a frame!
Staff has been pack pack packing. She thinks I don’t know what is going on, but I do. I will be hiding tomorrow just before she wants to put me in the car. It will be an hour of waiting before I come out into the open. There are three stories in this house and lots of room to sneak around in. Heh heh heh
I heard her tell Mr.Staff to shut me on the front porch tomorrow. She will be sorry to find out I know her nefarious plans. Snicker. Now AbbietheKitty will put her head under the bed and her tail will stick out and she will think she is hidden. What a slowtop that AtK is.
Alice, over and out-of-here.
10:23 pm on April 24th, 2012
The flowers came out perfect and I don’t even like the color pink. They are very pretty.
groan…the base of balls game.
I’m signing off now because I am having the same refresh problem as Stover.

Mom is bummed. My boy Chad has walked out of his rehab. We are hoping that none of his friends are stupid enough to pick him up so that he walk himself right back into the program.
Oh, and Cody has gotten himself a “medical” marijuana card that is almost certainly illegal.
We are ready to move to Bee’s kingdom Right Now.
10:32 pm on April 24th, 2012
Rio, those flowers are wonderful!
10:35 pm on April 24th, 2012
Alice!…hehheh!…Why don’t you hide in the car…snort!…They will never look for you there…chorkel!…AbbieTheKat couldn’t fit under the bed if her life depended on it…sniff!…Why don’t you guys like going to the farm? I love going out to my friend Peppers farm…sniff!…So much to smell and so many new things to pee on…snort!
10:35 pm on April 24th, 2012
Wolfie: I’m sorry to hear about both your boys’ decisions. Stay close to your mama—and your dad even if he says he doesn’t need it. In the mean time, pull up a jail cell—you’re in good company with the rest of the Plunderers.

Stovernia sounds like a dream. I’m not sure if I want to be a deputy or get jailed, wear an orange jumpsuit and eat pie.
Staff and Mr. Staff are very busy putting things in boxes and putting them in the van. There are way too many boxes. They need 2 vans. Alice is watching closely. She has to time her hiding move just right. If she waits too long she will be caught and put into the van without the proper amount of fuss. It’s all about Alice. Abigail is too big to hide. Leaving time is approx. 11:00 tomorrow morning…I will miss them, sniff.

I’ve been thinking. The WWBSD is a good mantra to live by and I offer ask myself the question in matters of grammar, spelling, wardrobe and life choices. I also go by the rule of thumb that if it is something Wookie would say or do then it must be the right choice. Before I commit to sharing a bunk with a certain snorting, harmonica playing, ‘b’ word saying pug and wearing orange I’d like for Wookie to weigh in on the matter. It’s much easier to justify things to AJ if I can make the full Bstover/Wookie argument—it brings a certain amount of credibility to what I have or have not done.

Alice!…You heard your Auntie Dawson…snort!…Timing is Everything…heh!heh!

Alice!…Don’t get distracted at the crucial moment by a little mousie….snorkel!…I know how you like to terrorize little mousies…sneeze!

Not to worry Rio. All the little mousies are playing outside now since we are having summer weather. Unlike Mollypop’s Mom.
Also Rio, hiding in the van would be counter productive. I am trying to stay OUT of the van. I hate riding in vehicles I can’t pilot.

Dear Wolfie,
I am so sorry to hear about your boys. Hope you can get some rest in the quilt tonight.
Bear, Staff says to tell you that she saw your very nice card and to tell you there is no rush.
Staff is getting twitchy. She better go walk around for a bit. It is annoying for her when she gets twitchy.

Wolfie: We can only hope that some of what Chad was hearing while he was in rehab has sunk in, will make him think about what he is doing and convince him to re-enter rehab down the road.

Abbie, Thank you for the message from Staff. Could you ask her to check her SDD when she returns from her walk?
Wolfie: It is so hard to watch the ones we love stumble and fall. Give a big hug to your mom for us. We pray that one day soon everything will turn around for your boys.

I’m still at the office. My guess is that I will be long after most of your go to your warm, soft beds and baseball toys. Carpola! I said the ‘b’ word!

I am finding it hard to turn off the computer. I really hate moving. I guess I had better get some sleep before tomorrow though.
I expect to have to chase Alice M. Johnson around for a while. If I can find her that is. What I can take is packed. There is a lot of stuff here after being here one and 1/2 years.
Ok Tearing myself away.
Night Bella. Hope you have a nice drive home.
Hi Liz.

Hi,guys. Mom went out of town last Thursday and didn’t come home until Sunday night. Then, of course, she had to work long hours to get caught up at her busy place. We love Dad, but he really doesn’t pamper us like Mom does so we are very glad she is back.
She and her sisters went to Nebraska to visit her one and only uncle who will turn 90 later this year. Hope Mom ages that well. He is very independent and still sharp as a tack. Weather was beautiful and a great time was had by all. KirbyT, they even crossed into your beloved Iowa briefly!
SQ had posted on Facebookie about the prequel short story and Mom guessed that it could be about when Chet & Bernie met. We are so excited and can’t wait to read it. Sorry, guys, but it sounds so much better than the Astrid case.
Prayers and purrs for all those under the quilt.
Gus & BooBear
P.S. Rio, Mom is trying to think of something really neat for the Snowhook boutique. She needs to think harder and faster.

Oh Wolfie – we are so sorry to hear your news. sigh. It doesn’t mean we will stop praying for the boys – no matter what stupid things they do – they can’t stop us praying for them. So there.

Wolfe: I am sorry to hear about your boys. I know how tiring and upsetting it must be for you and your mom & pop, but you would think your boys would be tired of this whole vicious circle.
Take good care of your mom and pop, and extra good care of yourself.
I pray for you and yours always.
Love and hugs, your friend Rose

Good morning, y’all! Or maybe it’s just a really, really late good night! Sorry I didn’t make it on here last night. Mom got home from handbell practice, then ate dinner, then crashed! She was really, really tired. I wonder if it had anything to do with the night before, when she fell asleep semi-sitting on the couch and woke up at 1 a.m. with Bubbie on her lap, Possum on her feet, and me right next to that. She didn’t want to disturb us, so she slept like that the rest of the night. That Mom is a real trooper!
T&G: I want one of those umbrellas! It’s raining right now — I wonder how fast they can get it here?!
Melanie: Continuing to think good thoughts for Dan. Once, when Dad’s mom was in the hospital, she called Dad and was all upset because his sister had just come to the hospital and given birth to a premature baby. And now all the hospital staff was standing outside Grandma’s door talking about her. When Dad asked to talk to his sister, his mom said she had gone out to eat with their father, which I guess would be pretty amazing for someone who had just given birth! Those chemical imbalances do wacky things to the brain!
Wolfie: So sorry to hear about your boys. It seems like every time they take one step forward they take 10 steps back. I hope someday they will realize just how much grief they’re causing you — and themselves.

Oh, and maybe in Stovernia there won’t be any rain?!
