Post Mortem
“How did everything go at the Oak Bluffs Library on the Vineyard?” Admin says.
“No one threw anything,” says Spence.
“Always a good sign,” Admin says, “but I happen to know they screened everyone at the door, confiscating a number of heirloom tomatoes. But onto two other things. One, did everyone notice the new background here at the blog? That’s because of The Sound and the Furry, coming Sept. 10. Second, here’s a great new video from Melanie, Plunderer extraordinaire.”

Gooood morning, everyone! Glad no UFOs at the library but be sure to save those heirloooom tomatoes for the seeds!
Rio: Wowser, our very own play-by-pug announcer. Paws down (tails up) the best.
8:56 am on June 7th, 2013
Oooops… forgot.
Macy: We of the HOH are all girls š
Melanie: the Old Fart loves the cooool, pooool video.
Fun, fantastic Friday to all.
8:58 am on June 7th, 2013
Greetings!
Happy Donut Day everyone!
8:59 am on June 7th, 2013
I’m laughing about the heirloom tomatoes. The background is fine but I still don’t like the print size or the margin size. To be able to type a comment I have it on 125% but to read the blog I have it on 100%. I don’t understand why this is necessary. Can’t the background be changed without affecting everything else?
Good morning all.
9:02 am on June 7th, 2013
OMD- Melanie. I watched again because I like it so much – was that a chipmunk racing off the stairs before the Newfs arrived?
Good morning all and happy weekend.
CHobbit – it’s Friday š
9:25 am on June 7th, 2013
CHobbit: Need to tell you a wrong day story! We were on a loooog summer vacation trip in a schooool bus we’d made into a motorhome to drag the daddy dawg’s kids around the country. Late August and we found an upgraded tranny to install, 3 days. Suddenly, his daughter says school starts the next day and we have to get from Placerville, CA to San Diego by the next a.m.
We made it…barely. Dropped her off at school then went to set up RV. Two hours later, got a call from school, come get the angel, SHE’S 3 DAYS EARLY!
9:38 am on June 7th, 2013
Spence: That’s a sneaky way to procure your lunch. I am happy that no one threw anything at you. I noticed the new background – after Rose pointed it out. Love it.
Melanie: Love the video, how could I not with all those stars of the screen, The River Bear Newfs! Your music is perfect. The best part is when they all first come lumbering into view. I don’t remember a Mr. McKey. Have I not been paying attention? Reading every other word then forgetting every 3rd word? Rose and all the Newfs look beautiful.
9:44 am on June 7th, 2013
CHobbit, didn’t you forget something when you started the trip? You had to go back a half hour drive?
9:47 am on June 7th, 2013
Melanie, Great video, love it. We did count and there seem to be 6 Newfs. We thought you were down to 5. Is Dawson onto something with the addition of Mr. McKey?
How do you get them dried off afterwards? Wet Newfs get musty smelling we have learned from experience.
Glad no one threw anything, Spence. That would be a terrible waste of an heirloom tomato!
9:58 am on June 7th, 2013
Happy Friday, everyone! HOH, That is a funny days-early story!
Rio, in case you don’t catch up on yesterday’s blog from this morning: Great Play by Play! We were all chewing our pillows!
We love the new blog background, and Bee, we don’t see any difference in margins or font, either on our iPaw or on Mom’s big computer.
10:05 am on June 7th, 2013
Oops: almost forgot…particularly for Barb, here is an article from our local paper about the organic farm near us where we get our asparagus, strawberries, and rasberries.
http://berkscountry.readingeagle.com/using-compost-tea-and-extracts-to-boost-soil/
10:20 am on June 7th, 2013
Morning all.
To answer a couple of questions on Melanie’s behalf.
Mr. McKey is better known as “Mac” plain and simple.
And the video was shot partly as a tribute to the One Perfect Rose. The pool was opened early so she could go for a last swim
Mama’s horror-scope told her to take a day off and walk by the water. Hmmm. It IS raining buckets outside. Does that count?
10:26 am on June 7th, 2013
We are getting the remnants of Tropical Storm Adrian here today. In true Dima Fashion, he is out there enjoying the storm. He always does this, and Mom gets so frustrated with him not coming in when the weather is bad.
10:27 am on June 7th, 2013
Why is my screen affected but Howlers’ is not? Siber-H apparently has the same problem. This is a pain.
10:32 am on June 7th, 2013
B: ??? Screen affected??? Maybe it pays to be technologically challenger.
T&G: At least your mama’s horror-scope doesn’t say “don’t go out, you’ll get hit by a truck!”
10:38 am on June 7th, 2013
Correction: Mom says it is Andrea, not Adrian. What’s in a name, anyway?
Dima finally returned.
Anybody know when Bella was supposed to fly home? Hopefully not today, with the way the weather looks down in Maryland.
10:41 am on June 7th, 2013
HOH. – there is that.
Bee – just so you don’t feel left out – the test is bouncing back and forth on our big computer. Sometimes it is oversized, sometimes it is normal. But it is always ok on our iPhone.
Go figure
10:42 am on June 7th, 2013
sigh – the TEXT is bouncing. Not the test.
Sheesh
10:44 am on June 7th, 2013
Only this morning, I noticed that the background has not changed on my IPaw.
10:46 am on June 7th, 2013
Thanks for clearing up the confusion over the Newfie count. Now we understand.
Oleys, that was an interesting article. Did you notice that she works with someone from the Rodale Institute? Back about 45 years ago when Barb was a young woman, she started reading Prevention Magazine, which was started by Robert Rodale. He was a bearded, far-out eccentric who thought processed food, white flour and sugar were all bad for you. Chemicals too. He touted organic foods and natural living when it was all in its infancy. Barb started growing some veggies, and made all her baby foods, because back in the day they contained MSG! Her kids didn’t drink pop or eat a lot of food that came out of boxes. They also didn’t get sick or have cavities! Her family thought she was a little touched in the head.
10:49 am on June 7th, 2013
Barb, the Rodale Institute is very close to us, and our ex-state rep worked very closely with them on many organic bills. Many of our local farmers work closely with them as well. Excellent organization, Mom says.
10:57 am on June 7th, 2013
Barb – bet your kids thank you now!
This all brings up one of our pet soapbox issues. Why is most of the “bad” food the affordable food? White rice is more processed than brown, but it cost less. White bread is $1 a loaf, while whole wheat is $3. Flavored carbonated water with no sugar or chemicals cost two times what sugared, chemically loaded sodas do. No wonder that lower income people say they simply can’t afford to eat healthy.
Ok – getting down off the box now. Just had to get that off our little Corgi chests.
11:07 am on June 7th, 2013
B&M: Mom was vegetarian for a loooog time and grew veggies in CA by Rodale’s book. When she inherited 3 step-2 leggers, she fed them “healthy” and they maintained she was either trying to kill them or starve them. Once on their own with their own “pups”, the song changed!
11:22 am on June 7th, 2013
So – is everyone getting auction items photographed and ready? Its almost that time when we get to cheer “Go SNOWHOOK!”
11:27 am on June 7th, 2013
Thank you Chet! Zoƫ and I watched again and cried.

T&G, I might be wrong, but I think so . .
11:34 am on June 7th, 2013
Good Morning Everyone!
Spence: How many tomaters did you confiscate? Good work thinking to check folks at the door.
Hounds: Fun Friday! We love your Kool Naming of the Days.
B: No difference on our page. Must be only you and Siber-H.
Is it on your iPaw or computer…or both?
O’Howlers: The article was interesting. Youse are fortunate to have a Organic Farm nearby.
Barb&Magpie: As a Registered Nurse, Nana’s mom was concerned with healthy eating. She also subscribed to Prevention Magazine and passed her far out ideas on to the next generation.
Melanie: Your Video Tribute to Rose was Beautiful.
T&G: A Walk in the Rain sounds lovely. That was a funny story about the old biddy at the end of the Royal Mum’s shew. She may have failed to find an humor in it at the time though.
Speaking of shews…We thoroughly enjoyed watching her interview.
What a Beautiful, Gracious, Knowledgeable Woman she is!
11:35 am on June 7th, 2013
Early!…Is for the birds…sniff!yawn!…My friend drug us out of our warm soft beds for another early walk and then she drove the poor old clicking Subaru to the Subaru-fixer-upper-place…wheeze!…She came back and said we have no money left at all….grumble!…That car keeps taking my treatie monies…grump!

Heirloom Tomatoes tee hee
I never knew people were so serious about tomatoes until I started hanging with you guys.
Ditto to everything Stover said about the size of the print on the blog now. It sucks, but the background is very nice.
Good Morning All
11:49 am on June 7th, 2013
Awk! The boutique.
Riƶ my friend, you have missed your calling as a sports announcer for reals.
Melanie: Thank you for the official names of the River Bears.
Dima: That is an Oscar winning performance for sure! The howl was a kool added touch.
Well it’s time to get to work. sigh.
BBL.
11:52 am on June 7th, 2013
Yeeep!…My friend better get her camera and take some photos for the Spring Boutique (not Auction time – not yet!)…grunt!
11:55 am on June 7th, 2013
Oh dear – Gramp just got back from the DMV – he failed the eye test. He has a form to be filled out by his eye doc, but at this point, it kinda sorta looks like he may be about to lose his license.
We are torn. Gramp is not a great driver at this point, but he is following Mama’s strongly worded request that he only drive in the daytime to places that he is very familiar with, such as the grocery store and church, etc. No highway, no nighttime, no long distance driving. But to have NO license – to depend totally on Mama….oh dear, this could get difficult….
11:56 am on June 7th, 2013
Rio! Thanks for the play by play account of the Rockies game last night. I read it this morning. That was excellent. My newspaper should hire you. They need help with their baseball reporting.
12:01 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wow, the Pack is getting up there in Newfie years. Must have been fun when you had four young ones at nearly the same time!
Siber, yes we are probably a little obsessive about our tomatoes. But it is one of Barb’s healthier addictions.
Interesting that others of you were into Prevention when it was considered far out. Now it sits on the reading tables of doctor’s offices.
T & G, You mentioned white bread for a dollar. Barb refuses to eat bread that can be squished into a ball and used for catfish bait! Jack says her bread is crunchy and has seeds in it.
12:06 pm on June 7th, 2013
T&G In this state, an elderly person can get a restricted license…like daytime driving only.
Dima, Love the video! Of course, that Husky should win an Oscar.
12:08 pm on June 7th, 2013
Siber – thank for that info – we will look into it.
12:08 pm on June 7th, 2013
We here love bread that is crunchy and has seeds in it. Momma loves it a little too much. š
Speaking of Momma: she just got a phone call and started skipping and twirling and singing “They’re here. They’re here.” Now, what could that mean?
Please remind us of the start of the great Snowhook Boutique. I am going to take the ‘rents shopping. I am hoping if we have a nice item for the Spring Boutique, AJ will put me on the team.
12:19 pm on June 7th, 2013
Here Come The Chickens!!
Fellow Sibers, Put one up for sale in the Spring Boutique and I will purchase it.
Spence, Thanks for putting Melanie’s video up. We have watched it and Dima’s video several times now.
12:25 pm on June 7th, 2013
Siber, we here are all rolling on the floor laughing. Mom is NOT amused. Stick-in-the-mud.
12:27 pm on June 7th, 2013
OFA got the galleys for TSATF just a bit ago (looook to the right). Must mean September is getting closer. Maybe we should tell mom to reread the Chet & Bernie to us.
12:33 pm on June 7th, 2013
Lawn!…Guy is out there…yeeep!yeeep!…that guy drives us nuts. Rolling his machine all over everything….grump!…Yeeep!yeeep!
12:41 pm on June 7th, 2013
Ahem….
The Spring Boutique is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to see what’s locked behind its doors.
Let’s not forget the “Have Harness, Will Travel” fund. We don’t want the Snowhook dogs running the 2014 Iditarod in yucky, chewed up harnesses, do we? And remember, someone could be the winner of a pretty great prize! I think Kat and Siber-H would agree.
12:45 pm on June 7th, 2013
Fantastic prizes for the Have Harness Will Travel Fund!!!
I love mine!
12:52 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rebecca!…She will be building the store once she comes home from wherever she is going after her jaunt through DC…heh!heh!…We all need to work on getting our Items photographed and emailed to Melanie for enhancement and sizing…snort!…Once she sends your photographs back to you, then you send Rebecca an email with the updated photo and a description of the Item. Don’t forget to include the price…chuffle!…Lets all try to contribute something so that this will be the best Spring Boutique ever!…snort!snort!….Remember this is held to raise money for our beloved Snowhook Kennel!…chuffle!
12:54 pm on June 7th, 2013
Oleys, I be your folks are really excited. Are they picking them up at a feed store or the post office?
Youse guys stay away from those cute little fluff balls!
We want some pictures!
12:58 pm on June 7th, 2013
Maggie, I have no flippin’ clue what you are talking about…or what Siber is talking about either. My mom is sitting in her office working diligently as always. She keeps checking the clock though, because she said Dad is coming home early (he went in at 5:00 am today). I have no idea why she cares.
1:04 pm on June 7th, 2013
Here chick chick chick…..
Gilly needs something to herd. She promises, cross her little Corgi heart that she would never, ever give a baby chick a Sibe-type welcome.
p.s. – Gramp says the garter snakes have started hanging out in the backyard, so Mama may be able to get a picture of Gilly trying to herd on of those. Now THAT’s funny.
1:06 pm on June 7th, 2013
Mudslide Run! Right here at Holiday Valley. I’ll let you all know right now that I’m not doing this.
http://vimeo.com/67887076
1:07 pm on June 7th, 2013
Oh….now I know. She did mention that she needs to go the The Feed to get some more treats for me me me! That must be where she wants to go with Dad.
1:11 pm on June 7th, 2013
Auntie M, you have the most fun ever at your place! I want to come up and you and I run as a team. I love love love MUD!!!
Momma especially loved the blooper real at the end.
1:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
US! US! Let Lucy Lou and me try the mudslide. We’ve been practicing swimming in the mud in the back yard…we’re gooood š
1:30 pm on June 7th, 2013
The only time I have seen any mud is when we went to that stupid wedding in London. I don’t like mud.
1:40 pm on June 7th, 2013
MollyPop’s Mom: The Mudslide Run looks like Fun (to Watch) Any mosquitoes?
Gilly: Would love to see you Herding a Garter Snake! You are so Brave.
Good luck with Gramp getting a Restricted License. It would be perfect for him.
Siber-H: The Prize you won sounds like something I would want.
Rio & Wose: I am making a Donation to the Have Harness Will Travel Fund in Memory of Melanie and Zoe’s One Perfect Rose.
SnowBella: I know you are traveling, but don’t forget to post Photos from the Wookiemobile ASAP.
1:51 pm on June 7th, 2013
Poor Kat, you are sooo disillusional!
T & G’s mum, Barb’s good friend Kim has her 87 year old father living with her and her husband. She just took his keys away after he had a couple of close calls. He is very pouty about it, but when he drives he has to go on country roads and highways. Kim was afraid he would end up causing a serious accident. If Gramps can just drive during the day and only go short distances it might still be OK. But even then, what about his sight?
2:03 pm on June 7th, 2013
Just saw a Funny Caption up top showing a Black & White Duo from the Nation Within titled:
Abbey & Grady on a very serious stakeout.
It ended badly. Someone barked.
Our Gramp failed the Driver’s Test when he pulled too close to the white line at a stop. No amount of arguing would change the instructor’s grading and may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Fortunately he has his very own Cabbie to take him to the store and doctor appointments.
2:06 pm on June 7th, 2013
Chicks!….Those little chicks better have an attitude to survive on the Howlers farm…heh!
2:12 pm on June 7th, 2013
Dishlickers!…I just posted a Chick with an Attitude out on dishlickers for youse…heh!heh!…
2:19 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wose: Yes, yes! It IS Donut Day. WhooHoo you knew. We intend to Celebrate by having (more than) our share.
O’Howler’s Little Chickies: Welcome to your new home!
Rio & Beau: This will be your Last Day Without Gourmet Snacks.
Your Friend’s Mother returns tomorrow. Right?
Going to Dish to check out your “Chick With an Attitude”
2:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bear!…Yup! After today Beau and I will be back on the snack-all-damned-day diet…heh!heh!….Beau does not know this yet. He will be very surprised tomorrow morning….snorkel!
2:22 pm on June 7th, 2013
Off!….Link!…sniff!
2:37 pm on June 7th, 2013
Princess Sam: yes I did forget something on my trip down to Anchorage and had to return home and I was only 30 minutes away the first time. {{{sigh}}}
I will be sorting through my stuff for the boutique. Some of the Nome items I was thinking more in terms of the next auction.
Have more re-painting to do at the realtor’s request: the dining room and kitchen. Now that it is summer, more houses are on the market so at the realtor’s suggestion, the price has been lowered $10,000. Still no showings after a week at the new price so keep the positive thoughts flowing.
2:40 pm on June 7th, 2013
Thank you BearSpiritDog!
MollyPop’s Mom, That woman went over that fence like I would. NOT gracefully.
I have just finished putting my old computer back together up in my workroom. It’s been in pieces since February. I thought I had too many cords, but everything plugged in and it’s working. EXCEPT, there is a huge humming when I have my speakers plugged in and on. That does not sound good. In real terms and in more money terms.
I did get the perfect boutique item!
2:57 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wose, Now about 1/3 thru The Storyteller. It is hard to put down. Typically, Picoult has done a lot of good research for this book. It is well written, IMO, but disturbing at times and hard to read at times. The story is set in the current day, but there is some retelling of events that happened in the Holocaust, told by both a survivor and an SS guard. And that is the part Barb has trouble reading.
3:30 pm on June 7th, 2013
OH: Maybe ya’ll can talk your mom into letting you “adopt” the chickie, chickie, chickies! Our predacessor, Sonja the wolf dog, adopted the peck of parrots. Never sure why but she was the first dog here.
3:37 pm on June 7th, 2013
Very exciting here. Mr Ortiz has two of his guys here and they are prepping the space around the back patio to enlarge it. Barb bought some 16″ x 16″ blocks to add to the existing patio. It will be 32″ longer and wider, which will help with the over-crowding of the patio furniture. They will finish it tomorrow. Now, I must go back and bark at them, just to make sure they keep working. Everyone has a job to do!
3:45 pm on June 7th, 2013
Heading up to the Cape tomorrow. Will keep eyes peeled for any Chet events next week. Happy to be on the road (In fact, happy to be anywhere) after emergency surgery last week to mend a bleeding esophagus. On the mend now and ready for some serious seafood in Dennisport….
4:06 pm on June 7th, 2013
That is the phrase one needs, Terry, serious seafood. Glad you’re back and hane parts of you healing.
Maggie, keep those guys on their toes!
Have a question. I was finding my jewelry for my neice’s wedding. I am goin to use an antique brooch and earings. I have to clean the silver parts, but does anyone recognise the gemstones? They have an old fashion cut.
4:17 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie!…Will that be a Spring Boutique item?…..snort!snort!
4:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
Refresh and read, oh pug! That’s my jewelry for the WEDDING!
4:25 pm on June 7th, 2013
Jewelry!…I’m asking about after the wedding…grunt!
4:36 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie: The stones are “emerald cut” but I’m not sure what they are.
4:42 pm on June 7th, 2013
Love the color of the stones, but I do not know what they are.
4:43 pm on June 7th, 2013
Hey, Terry, Glad to hear you are up and at ’em and Enjoying Food from the Sea again! Yum.
4:52 pm on June 7th, 2013
Perhaps sapphires….
4:55 pm on June 7th, 2013
Terry, go to Seattle for GREAT seafood! Yumm!
These chickies are the cutest little fluffballs I have ever seen! I’m not sure I’m remembering which is which.
4:56 pm on June 7th, 2013
Been to Seattle several times and love any time I’ve spent at Ivar’s. On the other hand, the Cape is a leisurely two day drive.
5:02 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bear Spirit Dog: I think it is a great idea to donate to the harness fund in memory of Rose and I am going to follow your lead. One thing that binds us together as a community and to Snowhook in particular is that we all take exceptional care of our dogs. That is the reason Siber-H told us about Snowhook and look what the last 2 years have meant to the kennel. AJ winning an award for the kennel’s dog care makes us all proud of our sponsorship. They deserve the best = no more chewed up and repaired harnesses! I will be emailing Wose and the Pug of my $25 donation to make it official.
5:09 pm on June 7th, 2013
BSD and Terry, great idea! A donation to the Harness Fund in Rose’s name.
Love Snowhook!
Our buddy Cherokee’s tumor keeps bleeding and he will have to get surgery. The problem is that nobody thinks his kidneys are good enough to survive surgery. Please cross your paws for Cherokee and his mom (Kat’s Godmom) Leslie…another fan of Snowhook.
5:10 pm on June 7th, 2013
Oops…we meant Hobbit and BSD. Our only excuse is that we are chick-obsessed.

5:12 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie – stones could be sapphires, or blue topaz (more likely) or aquamarines. ‘Course, they could be glass too, but probably not if the settings are sterling. And the brooch is lovely.
Be gentle on the polishing.
Terry – glad to know that all is well again. Bet those clams and oysters on the half shell would slip, slide away down that bruised throat.
5:17 pm on June 7th, 2013
O’Howlers Mom, tell us all about the chickies.
5:28 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie: our guess on the stones is blue topaz. Aquas are usually not quite that vivid and are very rare.
5:32 pm on June 7th, 2013
OH!…Melanie!…Check your SDD asap!…snort!
Beau!…Still Waiting!!…sneeze!

C.Hobbit, very well said about Snowhook. I am proud to be a sponsor of their team because Snowhook makes all of us proud. I brag at the dog park about their humane care of the dogs and their reacue work.

I can’t play that video until the dogs are not in the house. They would go NUTS!
6:50 pm on June 7th, 2013
Franklin is Bear x 2 and a Really Nice Guy.
6:53 pm on June 7th, 2013
I am beside myself. It is not as pleasant as Chet would have us believe. I am moments away from meeting Wookie’s pawp. I hope I can keep my splorting to a minimum. I make no promises about the twirling.
6:57 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wookie’s!…Pawp!wow!…snort!…I hear he is a really nice guy…heh!heh!
6:59 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rebecca!….Would you give Wookie’s Paw and Maw a big slurpy Pug-Kiss from me??…chuffle!
7:00 pm on June 7th, 2013
Fotoz!…We hear would like some fotoz too by golly. And not just of everyone’s feet…sniff!
7:01 pm on June 7th, 2013
Twirling!..Now I am twirling and I’m not even there…heh!…Spinning and Twirling and now I am Skipping!…Woooo! burp!
7:12 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bella! Good luck!
I’ve been trying to post a snapshot of our weather. Not having any luck yet.
7:14 pm on June 7th, 2013
Heh, heh . . trying again.
At least this isn’t snow . .

(fingers crossed)
7:16 pm on June 7th, 2013
SnowBella: Be sure and get a Photo of the Wookiemobile!
And say Hi, hi, hi from Us, us us.
7:20 pm on June 7th, 2013
Perhaps we should refrain from calling the box of peepers, “chicklets”. It might encourage chewing.
7:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rebecca, I can report that Wookie’s dad is a very nice man, without having met him, and Wookie’s mom, well she’s pretty great too!
Hope you are taking lots of pictures!
7:25 pm on June 7th, 2013
HOH: A reminder to the Howlers a chicklet is only a tiny tidbit, not even a real snack and hardly worth the trouble.
Melanie: Yeep!
7:32 pm on June 7th, 2013
I haven’t met Wookie’s Folks in person, but judging by how much Wookie Loves them, there is no doubt in my mind they are the Greatest Parents a dawg could have.
Can’t wait to see the pictures.
7:58 pm on June 7th, 2013
pssst – Hey Howlers—-you want some “help” with those chicklets? We would be glad to lend a paw…or a jaw….
8:16 pm on June 7th, 2013
Herbs: Gasp. What are you suggesting?
8:17 pm on June 7th, 2013
We are late to the discussion, but mom has several blue topaz pieces (wonder if we could pawn them?) and that was her instant response. Not necessarily right, but instant.
A box of chicklets? Of course. You can’t get just one chicklet except out of a penny machine. What a mess that would be!
8:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
Macy!…The Spring Boutique needs some blue topaz pieces…sniff!…You could try and coax someone there to donate them to the Snowhook Cause….chuffle!
8:22 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie: Mom thinks topaz but what does she know?
8:27 pm on June 7th, 2013
Miz Macy – why don’t cha encourage your ma to let you wear them fine jewels. They sure would look purty next to your silky black coat.
An dontchu worrit none about that there v e t fella that called you a Chunky Monkey – Ah have explained to him that that ain’t no way to talk to MAH little gal. No siree. He will be apologizin’ to you next time you see him.
8:51 pm on June 7th, 2013
Redbone!…Brother, I thought you was dead…snort!
8:55 pm on June 7th, 2013
Oley, tell us again what you ordered.
8:57 pm on June 7th, 2013
Redbone! Isn’t it about time for a little get-to-gether on your back porch? Riƶ’s ready with his harmonica, Siber with the tambourine, the Prof on guitar and moi on sax. Something tells me one or other of the HOH plays a mean banjo.
All you have do is bring the shine and it’s partee time.
8:58 pm on June 7th, 2013
Fiddle. We need a fiddle.
9:10 pm on June 7th, 2013
We are going to say Nighty Noodles.
Oleys, keep those little guys warm tonight! They are so cute, we miss our little chickies.

9:18 pm on June 7th, 2013
Fiddle!…We do need a fiddle player really bad…sniff!…Do you thing AbbieTheKat plays the fiddle?…snort!… As much as her family likes that blue-grass you would think either Alice or Abby played the fiddle…grunt!
9:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
Barb is telling my Fellow Sibers to keep the little chickies warm tonight? This is priceless.
9:24 pm on June 7th, 2013
SiberH!…Are you watching the game?…sniff!
9:25 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wow!…Cargo just hit a triple!…heh!heh!…Maybe tonight will be a little different…sneeze!…I sure hope so.
9:27 pm on June 7th, 2013
Chicks!…Those would-be chickens don’t have a chance in hell…snort!
9:35 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rio, Yes, I am watching the gtame. I have hope for tonight.
9:50 pm on June 7th, 2013
I would not like to live next door to that Caninus Band. Redbone Hound and the Moonshine Band could put them to shame.
Terry: Glad you are out of the hospital and feeling tip-top again.
Welcome all you little chickies. Oh and welcome to Racine, a companion dog, a new FOC and a relative of Wookie’s.
Snowbella: First a ride in the Wookiemobile and now a meet & greet with Wookie’s paw. Wow!
Loved all the links and pictures today. Especially the River Bears. Goodnight to all, except g’day to Cricket.
10:09 pm on June 7th, 2013
Do you think that orchestra would come and play at my house the next time I got bored?
Abbie might play the fiddle, but Alice would play the violin.
Hi Mr. Redbone Hound! Good to hear your smooth gentle southern accent once again.
I am turning out the light. I hope to sleep through the passing of Andrea.
10:10 pm on June 7th, 2013
Whoops, that sounded strange. I mean the tropical storm, not my daughter-in-law!
10:21 pm on June 7th, 2013
If Wookie did a great job with Debbie, he did an equally good job training his pawp. Like Wookie, he has great comedic timing, is well groomed and well mannered. It was a wonderful evening. The only time there was a pause in the conversation was when we inhaled deeply so we could begin talking again. Wheeze!
All: You honor Snowhook with the things you have said about the kennel and the kindness you have shown us. Thank you. Our dog dish runneth over.
Kat: I need to add my new title to my business card.
10:25 pm on June 7th, 2013
Terry: I’m glad you’re on the mend. I’m equally glad your serious about your seafood. Have you ever buried a fish head in straw and let it get a little ripe before eating it? Delish! I’d recommend it if you haven’t tried it.
10:33 pm on June 7th, 2013
Mr.Tenzing!….Gah!…gurgle!
Rebecca!…snort!heh!snort!…I wonder who talked the most tonight…heh!heh!…I bet the lawyer did…sniff!
10:33 pm on June 7th, 2013
My Two-legged just called home. I overheard part of the conversation. There were reports of Rio this-ing and Rio that-ing and talk about museums and monuments. But this is the kicker!—If my ears have it correctly, Wookie’s mom said I should be able to get a kitty. Meow! I knew I like Wookie’s mom before, but now I love her!
10:35 pm on June 7th, 2013
Walk!…wheeze!…We just got back from a long walk and missed 2 full innings…grumble!cough!…First thing we hear is Nolan making an amazing play, but we did not see it. Hope they do a replay or two…snort!…He is my new Hero!…Wooooo!…I don’t even know what the score is right now…zow!
10:38 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bellie!…I knew they were talking about me…heh!…I just knew it!…snort!
Score!…Get this – 9 ta 4 Rockies…grunt!…Now why couldn’t they do this last night?…sniff!
10:39 pm on June 7th, 2013
Correction! Wookie’s mom said she thought jt is cute that Belle Starr wants a kitty of her very own. Bellie-button heard something different. As usual, Belle Starr hears what she wants to hear. I love her anyway.
10:41 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rio, The score is Rockies 9 the other guys 4, but it is only the bottom of the fifth. This worries me.
10:42 pm on June 7th, 2013
What’s this no kitty talk? If I don’t get a kitty, I’m going to be in a very bad mood. Grump.
10:48 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bellie!…Kats aren’t all they are cut-out to be…snort!…It’s like asking for hell-fire to be delivered to your doorstep….grunt!…My friend has been feeding her mothers feral Kats and she hates them…sniff!…She is afraid they will attack her every time she takes food out there for those bastards…grunt!…Drives Beau nuts as he is always on Kat-Watch…sneeze!
10:49 pm on June 7th, 2013
Melanie: Please check your SDD.
And, Stay Safe from Andrea, the Storm not GLAD.
G’Night All – Bear
10:57 pm on June 7th, 2013
But, I don’t want a Kat. I want a kitty. My Two-legged says there is no difference between the two, but she can not be trusted.
10:59 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bellie!…Have you ever heard of semantics?….hmmm!…Probably not…snort!
11:00 pm on June 7th, 2013
Come to think if it, I can not be trusted either, but I’m not telling my Two-legged.
11:02 pm on June 7th, 2013
Semantics? No. Math has never been my strong point.
11:04 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bellie!…I thought not…sniff!…Sparkle Theory and Quantum Bangles are more up your alley…heh!heh!
11:07 pm on June 7th, 2013
What a wonderful time we have had getting to know one of Snowhook’s 2-leggeds. We all came up with a great idea. We should have a Plunderer’s Passport. Every time Plunderers meet we get a “stamp” verifying that we have traveled afar to meet one of our ‘tribe’. Great idea huh??? Anyway after walking Rebecca 6.5 miles yesterday maybe no one will want to visit us!
Had a marvelous whirlwind time with Miss Rebecca who needs to remember to lock her door! And yes, Belle we think you should get a kitty.
11:07 pm on June 7th, 2013
Uh-Oh!…The score is 9 ta 7. My Rockies are losing ground quickly all of a sudden…gasp!
11:11 pm on June 7th, 2013
Walk!…There is no way in hell I am ever gonna go meet up with Wookie’s 6.5 mile Maw and Paw….wheeze!sneeze! and cough!…grunt!…My little paws could not take it…gah!
11:11 pm on June 7th, 2013
We are going to sleep now after I take mom out for skunk patrol…err, last call.
Belle Starr, Wolfie has kitties that he would send you free of chrage.
Paws crossed that the Rockies don’t give away the rest of their lead in this game. They are seriously working up to it.
Night All
11:12 pm on June 7th, 2013
Belle Starr – we think you need to do a little more research before you try to take on the responsibility of a kitty.
Romantics – semantics – to us, all those tics are bad – especially when Mama has to pull one off our “tender” parts.
11:18 pm on June 7th, 2013
Passport!…I love!love!love! the idea of a Plunderer Passport…heh!… We could all have our own special stamps for the occasion, just like Chet!…chuffle!
11:19 pm on June 7th, 2013
And to that gang whooping it up in Washington – the passport would be a lot of fun – but no doubt Rebecca would have the most “stamps”.
Lets see – she has met – CHobbit, Rose, Melanie, Howlers’ Mom, MollyPop’s Mom, and our Mama, along with Kirby’s Mom, Wookie’s Family AND OFA.
Guess she is going to deserve yet another title – Stovernia’s Ambassador Extraordinaire.
11:23 pm on June 7th, 2013
Jealous!…I’ve been here for years and years and years and years and I’ve never met nobody…grump!…What the hell? It’s that stupid “Can’t leave my back-yard rule”….sniff!
11:24 pm on June 7th, 2013
Wookie’s Dad: I suspected you were a reasonable man. Than you for providing that I should get a kitty in writing. I will put a tic in the pro-kitty column for both you and Wookie’s mom.
Rio: My Two-legged said it didn’t seem like that long of a walk. She says laughing and talking calibrates your inner pedometer differently.
11:28 pm on June 7th, 2013
B&S: Do you know if I get that fancy immunity where I can misbehave willy nilly?
Rio: Junior and I will leave the light on for you and have our stamp for your passport at the ready.
11:31 pm on June 7th, 2013
Rebecca!….She has also met The Story-Teller and Grandpa, The Newfs, Zoe and The Raven…snort!…We cannot forget those characters…heh!
11:34 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bella – yes, you will be able to park your limousine anywhere in New York City, and have those little flags on the front fenders. And you will be seated first at all restaurants – especially if they have “burger” anywhere in their name.
But right now, we think you should think about heading back to Alaska – seems Belle Starr is putting tics in columns. Who’s gonna pull all those nasty tics off? Hmmm?
11:36 pm on June 7th, 2013
Stamp! I want stamps! And, guess what? I already have a stamp to use on anyone’s passport who travels to meet me me me!
11:45 pm on June 7th, 2013
yaaaaaaawwwwnnnn – must sleep…..clunk…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
11:53 pm on June 7th, 2013
SiberH!…The game is TIED at 9 ta 9 in the 9th….grump!…We are all going to our beds now to listen to the ending on the radio….wheeze!grumble!…It was 9 ta 4 for Pete’s sake!…gah!
11:55 pm on June 7th, 2013
I am pretty sure my Two-legged should stay away for much longer although I do like the idea of sparkly pink flags on our car and burgers for dinner.
Kat: You have a stamp and I do not? Not fair. Now, I want a kitty and a stamp of my very own.
11:58 pm on June 7th, 2013
Bellie, my stamp is very cool. Of course, it is a husky. We use it whenever we go letterboxing. Our letterbox name is (whispering) HolwsAbout. But you didn’t hear it here.
12:00 am on June 8th, 2013
Kat: Can you come and stay with me while my Two-legged is away? I think we would have fun. I’m sure my Four-legged will say it is fine.
12:01 am on June 8th, 2013
Oh, Mr. Redbone, it is so sweet to hear from you again. I have not been able to wear any of mom’s topaz. Can’t get the ring on, don’t have pierced ears, and the chain is broken on the pendant. Besides, mom says we might have to sell them to buy treats. But thank you for the sentiment anyway.
Dainty licks to your sweet sef. (do you like your gals full figured? Those puppies did a number on my figure)
12:02 am on June 8th, 2013
I will. And I will bring my stamp too.
Oh No! I have to pretend to be sleeping now because I hear my mom coming to make me leave the
chicklaundry room door. Good night Bellie, and anyone else who is still awake on this here blog.12:03 am on June 8th, 2013
Good night Macy!
12:08 am on June 8th, 2013
Macy: From one full-figured gal to another just remember it is more tummy to rub. How can that be bad? You tell me.
My mama has to get up at the crack of dark tomorrow for a long day of travel. Good night all youse.
6:24 am on June 8th, 2013
Oh! I’ve also met Griz! He must be added to the list.
Now that my work conference is finished and the sight seeing complete I am going to visit Coach and Bev for a few days. It will be the first time I will see Bec since she was diagnosed with Nasty Cancer Business. I am very grateful my employer encourages us and makes it possible for us to visit family any time we have to travel to the lower 48 for work.
6:55 am on June 8th, 2013
Bella, give your Bev and Coach a big Newfy hug and slobber from us and the Pack. Grace reminded me to say the bets time for a hug and slobber is right after you drink water. If you keep some in your mouth and then let it spurt out you should come close to the real thing.
I, of course, suggest just send them our love, but I am not a Newf . . Just a carrier.
7:09 am on June 8th, 2013
Melanie: I will do my best to make the Newf Pack proud.
7:21 am on June 8th, 2013
Wose: (whispering) Wookie’s parents said I could get a kitty. What color do you think I should get? The color should look good with pink, sparkles and pink sparkles.
7:31 am on June 8th, 2013
Plunderers – Let’s visualize Bella meeting a sponsor while she travels…someone reading one of Chet’s books.
Bella – enjoy family time. hi, Bev & Coach.
Good morning all.
8:10 am on June 8th, 2013
Good morning! Have a safe trio, Bella. Glad the bad storm went away.
Hugs and husky kisses to Bev and Coach.
Bluecat, we are visualizing that. And paws crossed.
8:16 am on June 8th, 2013
Not really a.m. yet but hey to all. Busy here last night and we missed it. Safe trips, safe chicklets, safe kitties, safe weather. Will greet the day officiously when OFA posts.
