Post Mortem
“How did it go?” says Admin.
“Kris the videographer slash surfer taped it, or some of it,” says Spence. “So maybe you’ll be able to judge for yourself. And there’s a possibility of somehow posting it on the blog.”
“How’s that going to happen? We haven’t even taken a successful picture of you and the quilt yet.”
“I kind of liked that last one.”
“You were overdoing the smile, if you don’t mind my saying so.”
“Why would I mind a gratuitous insult like that?”
“See?”
“See what?”
Uh-oh. They’re off to a bad start today. Does anyone know if there’s a National Slim Jim Day yet? I can’t wait.
Quilt quote of the day (from the back of the quilt): Money will buy a pretty good dog, but it won’t buy the wag of its tail. – Unknown

One can only imagine the turmoil when Admin and Spence clash! Video would definitely be an interesting addition. Would that show who won the Best Ears contest???
P.S. If we all vote for Slim Jim Day, could we get back to Astrid tomorrow?!
4:05 am on September 20th, 2010
Oh, and Admin, if Spence is grinning from ear-to-ear in the quilt picture, it's not overdone. It's just his natural reaction to such a marvelous work of art!!!
4:15 am on September 20th, 2010
Chet, what are we going to do with those two? Sounds like yesterday's event was fun.
4:28 am on September 20th, 2010
Well, at least we will be supervised today – or maybe not if they start throwing punches.
Macy, Belle-The-Bad's post finally came through last night. Was there something she wanted to say to Rio? (Go for it.)
4:44 am on September 20th, 2010
I checked out the video section of the web site, just in case. I hadn't seen the ad for the Little Detective Agency before. When did that go up?
Whoops. BBL
4:44 am on September 20th, 2010
We vote yes for Slim Jim Day and yes to the grinning Spence. Let's see it, guys. And stop fussing!
Incidently, I came up empty pawed last night, although I really, really tried. I stuck my nose down the rat hole, I even stuck my paws down there and felt around, but the rattys would not come out and play with me.
4:59 am on September 20th, 2010
Maggie: Of course they wouldn't come out and play with you! Word of your awesome ratting ability has passed clear through the rat kingdom, and your reputation means you'll have to be extremely clever to cath them out of that hole again. Maybe you'll have to borrow Wookie's mustache!!!
5:00 am on September 20th, 2010
Oop! That should be "catch them out of that hole again."
5:10 am on September 20th, 2010
Melanie, thanks for letting us know about the video. We stopped looking there because there were some that scared little me.
That Little Detective Agency and business card are a hoot! Hoot! Hoot!
5:15 am on September 20th, 2010
Maggie, I think you are extremely courageous. I might spy on a rat but I wouldn't put my paw down a ratty's tunnel. *shudder*
5:20 am on September 20th, 2010
I can't remember — where are all those Hawaiian pants? Are they in Bernie's closet or in a storage facility someplace? Because if they are, it might be a good idea to give those away just like the commercial said — if Bernie stops paying storage fees, maybe their finances won't be in such a mess!
5:21 am on September 20th, 2010
Just looked at the video. I love it, especially the Hawaiian pants. I wonder who those people are and whose voice it is. I did see a dog's ears, wonder if it was Chet.
5:22 am on September 20th, 2010
Hoot!….Free Hawaiian pants with retainer!….heh!
5:27 am on September 20th, 2010
Back. I now have five pumpkins. . . They are going to be used for decoration not for pies. I used to do that. Not anymore.
Hey, Dan is doing really well. Sounds good. Wasn't happy about the Patriots's game. His off to PT and says he will do what they say. snicker.
My guys and the Pack like Slim Jims. The thought of processed meat with various additives and dyes makes it not too appealing to me.
Plain old jerky tastes better and lasts longer.
5:57 am on September 20th, 2010
Mom's off to do errands before she goes to work. Dang! Off goes the computer. But as Arnold says, "I'll be back" — tonight!
6:09 am on September 20th, 2010
Kirby and FK, Thank you for your kind words. Maybe I could wear Wookie's mustache and a pair of the Hawaiian pants as my disguise. And Barb said to tell you she shuddered when I stuck my paws down there, too.
I think we have a storm approaching cause we just lost our tv signal. I will not be happy if it starts thundering, believe me!
6:31 am on September 20th, 2010
Magpie — Anytime you want to borrow the mustache, just let me know and its yours. I've got to say, though, the Hawaiian pants may just be a bit over the top. Wookie
6:41 am on September 20th, 2010
MagPie!… I think the pencil thin mustache would be enough to conceal your identity….snort!…The Hawaiian pants would only hinder your speed and agility…grunt!
6:45 am on September 20th, 2010
Astrid!… I am tired of the missing Astrid Case….grunt!…Now the Case itself is even missing… sniff!… I vote for a new blog mystery and Slim Jim Day of course….wheeze!
6:45 am on September 20th, 2010
MagPie! How brave you are! I don't think I could go after those rats.
They will become harder to catch for a while because they know how fast you are and they pass that info on to the next generation. Just one generation though, so after that you can catch a whole bunch again.
7:07 am on September 20th, 2010
Melanie, Glad to hear that Dan is coming along and listening to the voice of reason this time.
OK, I'll forgo the pants and stick with the mustache. You're right Rio, they would no doubt slow me down.
Barb has an idea of moving the chicken feeder farther away from their hole, thus giving me a little more advantage. Right now I have to travel 8 feet (per Barb), whereas they have a short little hop to safety. Will update this strategy tomorrow.
7:41 am on September 20th, 2010
MagPie!… I think you need to drop a smoke bomb down that hole!…snort!… Smoke em’ out and then chomp em’…grunt!…You may want to remove Barb's chickens first…sniff!sniff!
7:43 am on September 20th, 2010
Be careful of Peaches!
7:53 am on September 20th, 2010
A video would be much appreciated, especially since we didn't have our fine reporter, Kirby's mom, there at the Salem Scene.
Melanie, very glad to hear that Dan is doing so well and cooperating this time.
Maggie, I like Rio's idea of a smoke bomb.
BBL
7:56 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio, I was moderated yesterday and just wanted to make sure you got this.
Ahoy, a scurvy dog here. Miss Thang went to sleep, so I thought I would pop in to send a big wet lick to the River dog. *smooch*
7:58 am on September 20th, 2010
Eeegads!…. snort!… Don’t scare me like that Belle!…heh!
8:01 am on September 20th, 2010
The Pack snuck out and grabbed a picture of MagPie trying out the complete disguise.
snicker!

8:05 am on September 20th, 2010
Ok, I am officially code illiterate. I can live with it.
Mollypop, I am worried. I like peaches. Why do I have to careful of them? Are they poisonous? Do they make you fat? Waiting with bated breath, I am afraid to go in the kitchen for fear one will attack me. Mom says I am overly nervous, but I've been around enough to know that bad things happen. *shiver*
8:05 am on September 20th, 2010
Are you sure that is Magpie? It looks nothing like her.
8:07 am on September 20th, 2010
Barb and Maggie: That strategy of moving the chicken feed further from the hole sounds perfect. Maggie only needs an extra hundredth of a second to get those nasty rats.
Melanie: We all want Dan home ASAP so are glad he's listening. Make sure they change the doo-hickey thingee. Sometimes they need reminding.
I took the lid off the cantaloupe-coloured paint, said "oohhh", and then put it back on. I'm not sure I'm ready for life inside a cantaloupe.
Melanie: That is definitely not Wookie's pencil-thin moustache.
Macy MinPin: You're giving me a belly laugh.
8:07 am on September 20th, 2010
What is scaring you, River Dog? I thought you were a big strong boy. Surely little old me could not scare you?
8:17 am on September 20th, 2010
Min Pin!…. You still are NOT closing your tags correctly!….grunt!… Listen up! Here is what your tag should have looked like to highlight “better” up above…. grump!
<code> </code>better<code> <</code>/<code>em></code>
Got it!?….Now use it correctly!…snort!
8:18 am on September 20th, 2010
PS!…Spaces inside tags don't matter…grumble!
8:24 am on September 20th, 2010
Macy: Except, in Rio's example, you have to have a space between the bracket and the b in better (as there is after the r and the closing bracket).
Dawson: Life inside a cantaloup has me laughing.
8:27 am on September 20th, 2010
Min Pin!…. Here is how you use multiple tags!…grunt!… (hope this works)…you have to close off each tag…snort!
<code></code> better <code> <</code>/<code>i><</code>/<code>b></code>
8:28 am on September 20th, 2010
Grumble!…And that is my good deed for the day!…snort!
8:31 am on September 20th, 2010
Tonight is the season premier for the third season of Castle .
8:31 am on September 20th, 2010
hmmm I don't get your better reference up there.
8:49 am on September 20th, 2010
Barb was just at the computer laughing her head off, then she showed me a picture of my little buddy Topaz with some strange looking creature. Wow! How did that thing get in my back yard?
Mollypop, Perhaps Macy doesn't understand your reference to Peaches!
Barb called our library this morning. They don't have any books by James Doss, but the have about 10 or 12 by Hillerman. A Thief in Time was not among them.
8:52 am on September 20th, 2010
Macy – You don't have to be careful of peaches, but if a rat bomb goes off in MagPie's chicken coop, they had better be careful of Peaches. She's a beautiful pet chicken. My Mom wants her.
9:00 am on September 20th, 2010
Daft!…"Who is she calling Miss Thang? It had better> not be me."… your own words…grunt!
9:08 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: Spaces inside tag brackets don't matter but it is necessary to have a space between the bracket and word isn't it?
It looks like Belle (with Macy's picture) got the hummm okay.
9:08 am on September 20th, 2010
Ohhhh!
Peaches is a chicken???
I was worried about the fruit.
Still not sure I have it figured out.
why would rats bomb a chicken coop???
>^..^<
9:10 am on September 20th, 2010
Staff doesn't use any spaces when she tags things.
9:16 am on September 20th, 2010
No need to have a space between the brackets and the word. I never do. Rio has cracked the problem of putting up examples with brackets. How do you do it, Rio? Every time I do it, the example disappears, and the post is gibberish.
9:17 am on September 20th, 2010
Oh….I thought it was necessary. I'll test it.
Ithinkthe it was suggested that Maggie put the bomb in to scare the rats.
9:18 am on September 20th, 2010
See how "think" has no spaces above. I didn't put spaces between brackets and the word. What am I doing wrong?
9:24 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio, We are giving serious consideration to the smoke bomb idea. Could the 30 chickens stay with you during the procedure?
Also, we loved Rockie doing the pirate song. Did you notice that his eye follows the mouse arrow before and after the song. However, while he is singing he looks straight at you. Try it. How does he do that?
9:25 am on September 20th, 2010
I put spaces in where they would normally be, between words. But I don't put any spaces in between the tags and the tagged word.
(I hope that explains it better.)
Also usually I write my sentence and then put in the tags. It keeps my mind straight. When I try to put the tags in as I compose I have more problems.
9:26 am on September 20th, 2010
Barb/Maggie — Even if they don't have A Thief of Time, I don't think you would go wrong with any others. As I indicated before, the very first book in the series — The Blessing Way — is a bit weak, so you may want to pass on that one. Also, fyi, Hillerman did write two stand-alone novels not involving Chee or Leaphorn — those are A Fly on the Wall and Finding Moon. Both are very good, but if you are looking for the books set in the Indian parts of Northern New Mexico, you may want to pass on those as well, if those are among the ones that the library has.

9:28 am on September 20th, 2010
I really enjoy Rockies eyes. I hadn't noticed that they don't move while he is talking. Heh heh heh. But I have tried to torture him by making him watch my mouse.
Kitty's just want to have fun.
9:29 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!… Spaces before and after word test …. No Spaces test… snort!
9:30 am on September 20th, 2010
Staff: That is what I'm saying. Macy may be having problems because she doesn't put a space between the bracket and the word. Rio's example above does not put a space between the bracket and the b of better which could confuse her. Your idea about writing the sentence out and putting the tags in afterwards is brilliant.
Another test:
I think therefore I am .
9:32 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: In my post of 2:17 I tried it without spaces and it didn't work. Why not?
9:34 am on September 20th, 2010
Alice: You are wicked! (Keep it up.)
9:35 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!…. You need to put a space before the tag starts – like so <code>
</code> and after the tag ends…snort!9:38 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: That is what I'm saying….but I'm apparently not saying it well.
9:40 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!…Here is a better example <code>
</code> Out damn spot! <code><</code>/<code> strike></code> ….grunt!….Ends up looking like this:Here is a better example
Out damn spot!… grunt!9:42 am on September 20th, 2010
Spaces!… Pretend the spaces are not in the example….grunt!… Showing the tags is not an easy thing to do…snorkel.
9:43 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: I love that quotation.
Look at your example to Macy in your post of 1:17 today. There is no space between the closing bracket and the "b" in "better" and there should be a space, right? That's all I've been saying because it could confuse her.
I think I'm getting a headache…..
9:49 am on September 20th, 2010
I think Staff at 2:25 explained it best. When you say "the word" B. I've been assuming you mean the word you're tagging. But maybe you mean the word before the tags, or after the tags.
I finally posted my picture in "Friends of Chet." The things I can do when the Librarian has a day off and leaves the computer on!
9:52 am on September 20th, 2010
"The Queen, my lord, is dead."
"She should have died hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word."
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrowCreeps in this petty pace from day to day"
(This is a test.)
9:53 am on September 20th, 2010
I think it will be better if I am not "interpreted" by Fatty Kitty. I will now be moderated.
9:54 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: I suppose explaining how to show the tags wouldn't be easy either, right?
9:54 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!…Regarding spaces before or after the "word" – they don't matter when the "word" is sandwiched inside beginning and ending tags … snort!…Read Staffs post of 2:25 closely…You need a space before the very first bracket and after the very last bracket to separate the words in the sentence properly….grunt!
9:56 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!… You don’t want to go there, believe me…heh!
9:57 am on September 20th, 2010
FK: I do mean the word being tagged….it/they need to have a space between the "instructional" brackets and the beginning and ending of the word. Oh dear. Yes Staff explained it excellently. I was never meant to be a programmer.
10:03 am on September 20th, 2010
My final test or I'm going to need a glass of wine and it's too early.
A space before the tag starts and after it ends.
Here is how I would do that:
A space before the tag starts and after it ends.
10:04 am on September 20th, 2010
Okay….I get it.
10:07 am on September 20th, 2010
Gruff!… I need a bowl of beer!…snort!
10:13 am on September 20th, 2010
Suspence!….We are starting a new novel today called, A Perfect Crime by the Charming Mr. Abrahams…snort!…Has anybody else read this one so far??…sneeze!
10:14 am on September 20th, 2010
Aaaaargh!…After all that and I don’t close my tag correctly!… Crap!
10:23 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio, Barb read that one and said it was thrilling and chilling. How does such a nice man write about such baaad ass characters, as someone one the blog commented recently.
We posted recently to tell Wookie which Hillerman books our library has, but it did not show up.BBL
10:23 am on September 20th, 2010
Rio: Go have your bowl of beer and I'll have a glass of pinot noir. I have not read the PA book you mention.
10:28 am on September 20th, 2010
I feel your pain, Rio. However, due to your persistence B. has got it.
If that chicken coop was not in Maggie & Barb's back yard, I'd say do what was suggested when the Freedmen in Montana would not come out of their "compound" – put parachutes on skunks and drop them out of the sky into the target area.
10:31 am on September 20th, 2010
Stover!… I wish I could but she puts a padlock on the fridge before she leaves in the morning….snort!…Just in case….sniff!sniff!
10:34 am on September 20th, 2010
Poor Rio. You have to await her return. If you go to amazon.com and type in the author and title, there are several reader reviews of the book.
10:37 am on September 20th, 2010
Reviews!… Not necessary. If the Charming Mr. Abrahams wrote it, we know it will be excellent….snort!
Count-Down!…Eight Days till you guys get to read To Fetch A Thief… Wooo!
10:57 am on September 20th, 2010
Avast ye landlubbers!
All you picaroons going on about tags has me ready to dance the hempen jig meself. Blow it out your dungbies and put an end to it! I'm off to have some cackle fruit.
Oh? Shiver me timbers. I'm a day late.
11:05 am on September 20th, 2010
Wolfie here.
I'm still trying to figure out what a "slash surfer" is.
Any ideas?
11:07 am on September 20th, 2010
Almost forgot to tell you what happened!!!!
A huge, big, enormous wild boar came into my front yard last night and tore up all my grass!!!
It wasn't even dark yet, I was taking a nap, and I missed it all.
I failed in my duties to protect our home and lawn from any and all predators. And grubbers.
My wiggle is no more. Sigh.
11:14 am on September 20th, 2010
WWWWW: Really? A wild boar sounds very dangerous. I'm glad you were out of harm's way. What do they eat? Sorry, I have no idea what a slash surfer is.
11:18 am on September 20th, 2010
I take it to mean "Kris the videographer / surfer."
11:20 am on September 20th, 2010
Wolfie: Where did you see the term "slash surfer"?
11:20 am on September 20th, 2010
Mom just read the last couple of hours of this blog and said that she needed a drink. She now has a glass of Duplin's Hatteras Red.
11:23 am on September 20th, 2010
Ohhh, so the Peaches is not the Fruit? *relieved sigh* I really don't need deadly fruit in my life. Dad nearly had a stroke trying to get a grape away from me. But he lets me have apples. I do not understand leggers at all !
Wolfie don't beat yourself up, fellow. 24 hour a day surveillance is very difficult. I am sure the tricky boar had be watching your routine in order to time his dastadly deeds when you were taking a break.
Rio- Belle is miffed that you did not respond to her affections and is now outside checking for interlopers in our yard.
SO sorry I started all this tag nonsense. I need a nap.
11:23 am on September 20th, 2010
Sorry Mollypop and Dawson.
Duplin's Hatteras Red sounds interesting.
11:24 am on September 20th, 2010
uh 2 leggers.
11:27 am on September 20th, 2010
Wolfie: Yes to what Mollypop said at 4:18.
11:28 am on September 20th, 2010
and Rio what do you mean "daft, in your own words"? I do not like being called names any more than you do sport.
11:29 am on September 20th, 2010
THANK GOODNESS THE TAG TALK IS OVER!
Jeez. . .
Zoë and I are going to watch a Touch of Frost and then we have an
ANNOUNCEMENT!
snicker!
11:30 am on September 20th, 2010
Min Pin!… I did respond to Belle’s surprise lick!… snort!… She scared the crap out of me!….grunt!
11:32 am on September 20th, 2010
Macy and Rio are fighting again.
I'm going to watch the latest episode of Rubicon and sip a glass of pinot noir. (Next Tuesday it will be Cahors! I wish we could all read TFAT at the same time and have running comments. How many are not receiving it until after Oct. 3?)
11:34 am on September 20th, 2010
Daft!… Meaning silly, nutty or even dippy….cough!
11:41 am on September 20th, 2010
We are not receiving until after 10/3 as we have ordered a signed copy from SQ signing, so we can get a personalized and paw printed one.
11:47 am on September 20th, 2010
Dawson, You are very funny, even if you are a daylate.
11:58 am on September 20th, 2010
I'm still thinking about how much fun it was to have Dawson as Nose Wad.
1:02 pm on September 20th, 2010
Who is she calling Miss Thang? It had better> not be me.
12:10 pm on September 20th, 2010
Dawson, Did you notice WE did not get involved in all that tag talk? And what are dungbies?
12:11 pm on September 20th, 2010
B. – Here's Hatteras Red with a list of all its awards:

Barb and Maggie: A dungbie is a rear end. 🙂
12:50 pm on September 20th, 2010
Oh boy!
An announcement from Melanie and Zoe.
Mollypop: I was never Nose Wad. I was simply Noswad.
12:54 pm on September 20th, 2010
B.Stover: Thanks for the info on Castle. I didn't know it was on already. Some new programs are coming. Wonder if any are any good. I still like NCIS, the Closer and the Good Wife. I was surprised by the ending of White Collar.
12:55 pm on September 20th, 2010
Mollypop: Thank you. I just ordered six bottles.
Dawson: Your last post was number 100.
12:57 pm on September 20th, 2010
Mollie BP: I'm still hoping that the ending of White Collar was not what it looked like. It starts again in January I think.
1:04 pm on September 20th, 2010
Yippee! Number 100 for the first time.
By the way Rio: I was just catching up on last night's posts and I must say that the "Annoying Factor of Early Dawson" does not even begin to compare to the Almost Daily Irritations of an Irascible Plump Pug. IMHO.
1:06 pm on September 20th, 2010
Oops. Excuse me. I get crabby when I'm hungry.
1:11 pm on September 20th, 2010
Dawson, We sort of thought that was what a dungby was, based on the "dung" part of it.
Also Molly ABP, The Closer is one of our favorite shows. NCIS also has great interaction amongst the main characters.
1:12 pm on September 20th, 2010
B. – Mom has been a member of the Duplin Wine Club for over 10 years. That gets her and her friends a good discount on the wine and they order many cases. The muscadine grape has been found to have the highest amount of resveratrol in the world because in the hot wet climate of the Southern U.S., the grape is under great attack from fungus and develops the resveratrol to combat the fungus. Mom feels that even 4 oz. a day is good medicine. Then she might have a different wine with dinner.
1:34 pm on September 20th, 2010
With Chet's permission given, The Newf Pack, Dan, Zoë and I would like to send to the Plunderers an autographed copy (by Dan) of his book For The Love of Puppies: The Memoir of a Breeder's Husband .
He is pleased to do this for the people who have given our Pack support during this time. (He's really happy about this.)
So some of you know how to get our email, others can get our email address from Wöökie's Mom and Staff. (If it's okay Debbie and Nancy, I'll just send another email to you that has the email on it for you to forward to others.)
If you would also like to have the book signed by the illustrator (OTAS) the book will have to be mailed after October 4th. He's coming up to visit us and Dan then.
Let me know if you are interested. I need what you want inscribed and where to send it.
The support and prayers that all of you, four legged and two legged alike, have meant a great deal to our family.
Thank you.
1:34 pm on September 20th, 2010
Mollypop: I wonder if the Duplin wine is helpful for sinus problems since resveratrol has anti-inflammatory properties. I'll let you know when I've tried it.
1:38 pm on September 20th, 2010
B. – Do you plan to drink it or snort it? Ha ha. I had to say that before Rio did.
1:39 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie: How wonderful! Yes, please. I'll send Staff an email asking for your email address. Thank you all.
1:40 pm on September 20th, 2010
Oh Mollypop! I hadn't thought about that….do you think it would work? (No….I'll enjoy it by the glass.)

Oh Melanie: That is so cool. Give Dan a huge hug from me. I'm definitely in on this.

That is exciting! I didn't know Dan wrote another book besides Sightings.
2:05 pm on September 20th, 2010
Oh, Melanie. Thanks to Dan and Zoe and the Pack and you so very much, and OTAS. I'll contact Staff.
October will be fun – Dan's book and TFAT finally arriving. How cool is that?
Have a good Autumn, Everybody.
2:15 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie, We have your email address already, so will be in touch. This will be wonderful. Are there Newfie pictures in it as well as drawings?
2:20 pm on September 20th, 2010
Most of the ink drawings are of the Newfs. We are so happy to do this.
2:23 pm on September 20th, 2010
Bluecat, thank you, but I am still waiting for autumn…record high of 91 last Sat. It can only get better from here on out, and, yes, Oct. will be fun!
Wow! Wolfie lives where there are wild boar. We don't have any here, and I don't know why. Need a few skunks out your way, Wolfie?
2:25 pm on September 20th, 2010
Dawson!…I’m like the scab that you keep picking at and it never heals…snort!…Then when it finally does heal it leaves a nasty scar!…grunt!
Dan!… How utterly awesome of you big guy!…gasp!…. Dan this is so generous of you!…snort! ….For the Love of Puppies! What a great tribute to our blog puppies who have gone off to their forever homes! (Thankfully not to my home) …wheeze!… I know my friend and I will treasure it forever! Plus, we can’t wait to read it!… Gruff!
Melanie!…Can you contact you through the email address on your web page???…snort!
2:27 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie: How very generous and thoughtful of you. I do not know any email address for anyone. Is there someplace I should go to get one. I would love to have a book if you have enough to go around.
2:27 pm on September 20th, 2010
Snort!… I was so excited I miss-clawed that last sentence to Melanie!…Here it is again!
Melanie!…Can we contact you through the email address on your web page???…snort!
2:31 pm on September 20th, 2010

hee hee, Rio is going to be skipping.
2:43 pm on September 20th, 2010
Siber-H: Why do you avoid Santa Fe? Do you live near there? I imagine there are a lot of tourists that go there.
2:44 pm on September 20th, 2010
Wow!… I’m still all excited over Melanie’s announcement!…snort!…Yes! I am skipping and skipping!….woooo!
Stover!…I initially wanted to post about Ruibicon before the whole Dan/Book/Autographs thing was announced!…gasp!… I have not watched the whole show yet, just now saw the part where Will tells Kale he does not trust him up on the roof top….grunt!… I actually think he should not trust that gal, Andy, in the other building….snort!…I think she has been spying on Will this whole time!!… crap!…Then he goes over there! I could not believe it! It is Exactly What They Wanted Him To Do!… Mark my words!..…wheeze!…Back to the show now…sniff!sniff!…(this show is now second favorite to Breaking Bad…woooo!)
2:44 pm on September 20th, 2010
Riö, yes!
Totally zonked, so headed up early. Patsy will love this because it means I'll have to pet her even more.
2:45 pm on September 20th, 2010
Rio: All my scars have interesting stories behind them.
Dan: I'll repeat what Rio said at 7:31. (Except for the Pug kisses and the Wheeze.)
3:16 pm on September 20th, 2010
Mollie BP: If you click on Melanie's name you'll go to her blog and the email is right there. Is that correct guys? If so, then Staff: You don't have to send the email address to me.
3:20 pm on September 20th, 2010
Rio: I don't think I trust Andy either. For some reason I still trust Kale. I think the Katherine plot line is getting interesting. I think in the next episode Will goes to her house.
3:34 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie and Zoe — that is just wonderful; we definitely would like one too. I'll check to make sure Mom's got the contact details. Wookie
3:37 pm on September 20th, 2010
Rubicon!…Very interesting! I still don’t trust that Andy gal…sniff!…Way too convenient and maybe Will knows this and is using her to rile up some of the players!…,heh!…He seemed pretty determined when he was first packing up to go over there…grunt!…Kale is an Asshole and he is going to get burned because he is playing both sides, even though he is leaning towards Will’s side…grunt! … I love this show!…heh!
3:41 pm on September 20th, 2010
Wookie!…Agent, I still owe you a meeting… snort!…Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to gather my thoughts and set down in writing something useful…heh! …No promises, but it will happen at some point….snort!

Mollie (APB) There are a lot of tourists that visit Santa Fe, but we like tourists because, heck, if we go someplace else, we are the tourists. Mom and Dad lived for a year in Santa Fe, so they have seen and done about everything there is to see in Santa Fe. The cost of living is higher in Santa Fe and the traffic is bad. That is why I said we avoid it. If we are going north, we just go around it.
People visiting NM should see Santa Fe because it really is "The City Different" as it calls itself. Albuquerque is nothing but Phoenix lite with cooler temperatures, but Santa Fe is unique, and the mountains and canyons that surround it are beautiful. We live about 50 miles from Santa Fe now. A lot of people that work in Santa Fe live in the greater Albuquerque area because they can't afford housing in Santa Fe along with the high property taxes. It is a fun place for tourists.
3:50 pm on September 20th, 2010
I'm confused, but this is nothing new. Stover already asked this…all we have to do is send our email to Melanie's email address that is on her blog?
What a wonderful surprise the gift of Dan's book is today. We are skipping along with Rio
4:05 pm on September 20th, 2010
SiberH!….Melanie will need your mailing address if you want her to send you one of Dan’s books….snort!…She cannot detect this just from your email address…grunt! …She will also need to know if you want Dan and her son the illustrator to autograph it for you…sneeze!… Send her, “through email”, your snail mail address if you want to give that out….wheeze! …Although, I do suspect her and her family are on the Up and Up…heh!.
4:12 pm on September 20th, 2010
Everytime Rio gives me instructions, I start laughing..ok. thanks, it is all clear to me now.
I imagine that Mollie (ABP) also knows how to do this now.
4:16 pm on September 20th, 2010
Siber-H By the way we like your new official name, although we have bee calling you that for quite a while.
Barb's brother and wife just got back from a few days in Santa Fe. First time there. They stayed in a B & B on Canyon Road that was close to shops and restaurants. They loved it. Said food was great and they bought some art and pottery. Bro said that real estate prices were high. He said a place you would expect to be in the $200,000 range was $500-$600,000. But they loved their visit and thought scenery was beautiful and weather great.
4:19 pm on September 20th, 2010
Rio: Thanks for those instructions. I guess I just click on her name to go to her blog. Good grief, I should be able to undersand this better. Siber-H, I understand your confusion…

SiberH!…{{{sigh}}} …snort!
4:33 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie's family is so talented. Photographer, actor, artist, writer. They have it all covered don't they?
Barb and MagPie, signing off.
4:34 pm on September 20th, 2010
Melanie, that is incredibly generous of all of you. Mom and I would definitely love a book with all the trimmings. I found that I was actually blurring and twirling with excitement.
Rio and I do not fight, we spar.
Mom and Dad went to Santa Fe on vacation. They found it to be a very dog friendly place, but once they got out of the plaza area it was just too much traffic. We have our own "different" town here, called Austin. Our Niki lives there and has some very interesting friends.
4:35 pm on September 20th, 2010
I'm glad they enjoyed their visit, Barb. If they can make a return visit, tell them to see places like Taos.
There is now a train that runs between Santa Fe and Albuquerque that makes it easier for people who work in Santa Fe to commute. It is a rather cute train because a large Roadrunner is painted on it. I think they should have a once-a-month take your dog on the train day, but they don't.
4:39 pm on September 20th, 2010
Macy, Santa Fe is trying to do something about the problems around the plaza, but so far they have not arrived at any solutions.
Mom knows she would like Austin.
4:58 pm on September 20th, 2010
Siber-H..Austin is pretty interesting..our Niki is assistant manager of a co-op grocery which seems to attract the most "interesting of the interesting" people.
They spent 2 days in the Taos area. Just breath taking. When they were "in" Santa Fe they actually stayed north of town. It was the Buffalo Thunder Hilton Resort. The scenery was just beautiful. We did see the Roadrunner train. We have one like it between Dallas and Fort Worth, but it does not have a cute picture on the side.

My dad says it would be awesome if we had t-shirts with the quilt picture on it and maybe the website address. It would be advertising for Mr. Quinn, and a conversation starter for the 2 leggers. I did not mean t-shirts for the nation.
5:16 pm on September 20th, 2010
Min Pin!… I’m not wearing no t-shirt!…grump!…not matter what’s on it….snort! heh!
5:20 pm on September 20th, 2010
You wouldn't wear a Rockies t-shirt, Rio?
T-shirts with the quilt on them would be neat.
5:31 pm on September 20th, 2010
Hey y'all! I can see I missed all the excitement of the announcement. Darn Mom and her late nights, anyway! Hopefully, I can catch up with everything — although I'm not sorry I missed the whole "tag" discussion!
Dan: You're awesome, and your offer is amazing!!!
5:42 pm on September 20th, 2010
SiberH!…No!
5:47 pm on September 20th, 2010
GASP!!!
5:48 pm on September 20th, 2010
Grunt!… Some one here says we are going to bed really early tonight…yeep!…Dammit, but sometimes she says that and we still stay up for hours….heh!!
MinPin!… We do not fight! …sniffle!…We have a communication problem, that’s all…heh!…Somehow my words don’t make sense to her and her words don’t make sense to me…grunt!…A small problem really.. snort!
5:51 pm on September 20th, 2010
SiberH!…I can’t breath in my own skin let alone a t-shirt covering me…grunt!…Can you spell Pug-Heart-Attack??….wheeze!… She wears enough Rockies stuff for the both of us, let me tell ya….snort!
6:03 pm on September 20th, 2010
We don't want you to have a pug heart attack…maybe a Rockies collar for us dogs would be just the thing.
Mom says we are going to sleep early, also.
6:23 pm on September 20th, 2010
Night! … yadda yadda yadda!…. Call Rockie and his Hillbilly gang if you have bugs in your bed…snort!…I'm off to my warm soft bed with all my baseball toys just where I left them…snorkel.

I am still working on this techno stuff. The video is about Austin and the first part of it features a guy named Ramesh. He is our Niki's roommate. When he is at his apartment, that is our Niki's place too. This was on MTV earlier in the month. It fits in perfectly with our discussion of the cool factor. I will probably repost it tomorrow, since everybody has left. We are very excited, she was on a house cleaning frenzy a couple of months ago to get ready for MTV. I don't think Ramesh even noticed. Men.
