Post-Game Analysis

“How did the talk go last night?” Admin asks Spence.

“No one threw anything at me.”

“Always a good sign.”

“You know that expression FAQ?” says Spence.

“Yeah,” says Admin. “And I hate it.”

“Guess what the leading FAQ is at these talks?”

“‘How much longer?'”

“Nope. It’s where’s Chet?”

Where’s Chet? Is that what I just heard? I’m right here, lying under the desk, working on a nice new chew toy, in fact one I found out about from a buddy of mine name of Frodo. What I’m wondering is – where are we on the Colonel Bob case?

Admin World Series repick: Twins vs. Phillies.

More Post-Game Analysis:

“I told the pre-school story,” Spence says.

“Not again,” says Admin.

“And the archaic telephone thing.”

“Good grief.”

Chet: If you went along on Spencer's excursions then you could catch whatever they threw at him.

Chet: I think all of us are wondering about Col. Bob. I'm also wondering a couple of other things: What is the toy that you are chewing on? How many people were at the talk last night? Business cards were handed out. I'm glad it went well.

Rio: You will have to give me a hint about the terminal event in The Tutor…..or…wait: Did it have wings and was it "removed" by the tutor? I'm going to go on Amazon to "look inside" Their Wildest Dreams and then decide.

Fringe did have its gross moments last night. It would be interesting to be a makeup artist on that show.

Good Morning All! I slept late . . Rio and B.Stover beat me to the blog.

I have checked with the human side of the Pack and none of us had realized we could pre-order (even though there is no cover yet) T-FAT so . . . . .

We pre-order T-FAT this morning! Hip Hip Woof!

Rio, Every other word???? At least give me 4 out of 5 words read. I'm reading The Tutor now and I REMEMBER Whiskers! How can you forget a dog that runs out and pees on the neighbors front door?

I didn't read that out loud, not wanting to give the Pack any new ideas. Which reminds me . . . We just got new OLD furniture. Not antiques. Salvation Army. New OLD sofa, New OLD chair. We go through a lot of furniture here.

Anyway, hormones running high here at the house with Gracie doing her "thang" the new furniture was just sitting there in the living room. My sister and family were sitting at the table when the words from Zoë came through the house, "Mac, don't you dare pee on that." It became my niece's new favorite sentence from her Gram.

The sentence before that? It was when Katie was in "favor" and Franklin was very happy . . . "Knock it off Franklin, you don't even have any balls anymore."

I love my mother. Which reminds me when some Newf breeder friends and I almost got thrown off of Amtrak because of our conversation and laughing but the conductor was so entertained he moved us to the back of the cafe car so he could hear us.

Whoo, can you tell I didn't talk very much yesterday?

For Spence: Glad no one threw anything. If you get closer to the mid part of MA or Western MA, I'll be glad to throw dog treats for Chet who made a very good decision not to be there.

For Admin: You picked the Twins OVER the Red Sox? Hip Hip Woof! That means we are not jinxed!

Chet: Keep those wonderful ears up and listening (except during naps of course) so we can find out more. Rio needs more info for missions.

FB discussion is beginning on Oblivion. I have to get out there and talk about it. I have lots of mixed feelings that maybe some literary types can help with.

  9. Mollypop
    5:51 am on April 9th, 2010

FB – This is good (However, I'm not going to keep reporting). On the Free Iggy discussion, Georgette Madak had an idea for the next book "some creeps are taking advantage of Iggy's dad and Bernie and Chet jump in – pro bono – to help solve the case. Then the old guy writes them into his will…"

Spence replies "Georgette – Excellent idea. Please write it. No need for me to be in the loop at all!"

I don't quite understand – my poodle think isn't grasping this response.

  10. Chet The Dog
    5:56 am on April 9th, 2010

Mollypop – Spence says he really genuinely likes the idea. If Georgette would simply write the book there's no need for him at all. He could retire and put his feet up. Putting his feet up is something he does a lot, by the way. Admin? Never.

Chet – maybe next time you can go with Spence so that we can get the low-down! Or maybe you already know the pre-school and phone stories? I'll send you a new toy AND some Chicken jerky (did I ever mention that Chicken jerky is the best???) if you'll spill the beans! (Say! Personal and Private Note to Spence and Admin:

    For your eyes only!

I am worried about Rio. I am worried about Rio getting injured while he's doing all this skipping, worried that he might slip on those rose petals and sprain a paw or two.

I'm not saying that he's gloating, exactly.

But maybe we could have another contest so that some other pooch (or kitty) can win a copy of TFAT also! The contest that comes to mind (polite cough here) is the most recent one, albeit not an OFFICAL contest. After all, somebody was clever enough to remember Zippy's name! Two somebodies, in fact!

If that sounds too unhumble, maybe you could have a new contest. Only for Rio's safety! Think of all long it takes to heal a sprained paw? Think of how boring it would be to have Rio laid up?

    Remember: mums the word!!

I am now going to agree with Rio that if you read

For being just a little bit scattered the last few days. I'm one that doesn't retain a lot of what I read first time around. But I've read enough today to know that I'm not real happy with being called Zippy right now. Evidently Zippy pees on the neighbors door! And other bad things happen to Zippy. I may have to change my name yet again.

Admin: What's going on? Have you learned from Chet how to taunt us? Also, you don't have to pretend to like baseball. I can see you're only in it for the hot dogs and beer.

Melanie: great favorite sayings. How old is your niece?

    Hi there Rio,

I don't think Chet would mind if you rant on about the Rockies. As long as we don't start talking about football. Gosh just can't get into football.

    But I do enjoy baseball.

We always try to take in a few games when we come down to the 'Twin Cities' but this year, with the new field, tickets are hard to come by. We might have to wait a few years until the shine wears off of Target Stadium
