Politics and the Nation Within

What do we know about any of the candidates and the nation within? Anyone have pictures of a candidate with a NW member? Any of the candidates known to be friendly when it comes to the NW?

    Greetings!

A dark and damp day here.

I need to do some investigating about today’s post…

RIO! I hope you know I always keep your friend in my good thoughts. If she can not win the lottery, I am sending my strongest prayers yet to her so that she may find a forever job.

    Good day to all!

Good morning Rose/Wose and every one! Read today’s post and pondered, but our Rose came up with THE answer! Muchisimas Rosa! It is important to have a first pet at least that is what this herd thinks.
Lots of pawrayers for those with Quilt needs.
Oh, and today is: The Day the Music Died day. RIP Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper.
One last thought, have a doggone good day.

Cute puppy. I agree, having a First Dog is important for image.

I think the story of Mitt Romney strapping his Irish Setter, Seamus, to the roof of the family car while vacationing, was one of the most damaging to his campaign.

I remember that day in the late 1950s all too well, even though it has been almost 60 years. At Papago school in East Phoenix that was the only topic at the drinking fountain. My memory has a mind of its own.

I remember that plane crash in Iowa, too. I was 13, and can still remember some of the words from The Big Bopper’s Chantilly Lace.

HOH: I am the master of finding information trivial or not! :^)

    For B,M,&L:

    Chantilly Lace
    The Big Bopper

    Hello, baby
Yeah, this is the Big Bopper speakin’
Ha ha ha ha ha, oh you sweet thing
    Do I what?
    Will I what?
Oh baby, you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail a-hangin’ down
    That wiggle in the walk
    And giggle in the talk
    Makes the world go ’round
There ain’t nothin’ in the world
    Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
    Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that’s what I like

What’s that baby, but, but, but?
    Oh honey
    But?
Oh baby, you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail a-hangin’ down
    That wiggle in the walk
    And giggle in the talk
    Makes the world go ’round
There ain’t nothin’ in the world
    Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
Make me… Full lyrics on Google Play

Candidates and the Nation Within…an interesting concept. (Thank you Rose.)

I haven’t thought about the Big Bopper in ages.

It’s 52 here and I saw Robins…and tonight it may snow.

    Good morning all.

    Morning all.
Robins, bears and mosquitoes here. But today is dreary, drab and bleak.
We are planning grilled chicken with a festive, tropical orange glaze to lighten the winter blahs.

A Post from Spence on Facebookie:

    Spencer Quinn
Nice news today that WOOF is nominated for an Agatha Award – best children’s/young adult. The winner – chosen at the Malice Domestic convention, end of April – gets a cool teapot. I have one – DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE won in the same category in 2005. (But two would be better.)

BSD, boy are you right about the plethora of hungry plunderers! Today was siren testing for the nuclear plant. As usual I went out and sang like mom taught me to aaarrrrooooooooo aarrrooooooo. Darah came along but she is a lousy singer, she just “honks”. ????

Rose, thanks for posting the words for Chantilly Lace. That transported me back to 1959. That was the year we moved into our home that my mom stayed in until her passing 42 years later.

Hey everyone. Ya know how Mama has been cussing about the new computer. She took both the old and new one back to the store today to try and get some info on how to find all her missing stuff on the new puter.

Guess what the 12 year old tech kid said? (After sniffing superciliously at our ignorance and saying that we just needed to look in the right places)

    Wait for it…..

THEY NEVER TRANSFERED THE DATA TO THE NEW COMPUTER, even though we paid for that service. And they sent an email saying it was all done and ready to be picked up.

Said 12 year old is now a grease spot on the floor. And the manager has refunded the money for the transfer. And they are giving us a gift certificate.

    Harumph!

I guess the cat (or dog) is out of the bag as it were re Spence’s nomination for Woof. My dad actually found out this morning because he got the press release from Malice Domestic announcing the nominees. My dad has attended Malice Domestic in the past and as an early registeree for this year’s conference, he actually got to vote on nominations (and guess who he voted for!). That’s why he got the press release. I wanted to let everyone on the blog know about this early this morning, but HE said no, I couldn’t until OFA had a chance to let people know. Is that totally unfair or what? Also, since the Malice Domestic conference is held in Bethesda at the end of April in a hotel that is no more than two miles from our home, guess who may get to meet Spence in person. Me, me, me. How about that!

    More good news:

    Checkpoint Update
Some of you observant Plunderers may have noticed in the last update that another checkpoint was fully sponsored but it wasn’t announced specifically so here it is. Nikolai has been claimed for 3 sisters and a brother, to wit: Staff, Dawson, ACatty Librarian and Turtleman Fred!

Also, thanks to Barb, Maggie and Lucy, the Yentna checkpoint for Rescues is closer to being fully funded. Only $25. is needed to make that a reality.

The remaining available checkpoints are Skwentna, Finger Lake, McGrath and Nulato.

Thanks you all Plunderers and prayers that have made this possible. You are all wonderfully generous and precious to the effort of getting the Snowhook team to the starting line of Iditarod 2016.

Make pledges for the remaining checkpoints by emailing snowhookcheckpoints@gmail.com
