Good for Petey and the team who saved him. Did they find his family?
Wolfie’s Maw, thanks for the adorable photo of Miss Addi. We keep her in our prayers.
We are enjoying another cold day Way Down South, before the temps start heading back in Mom’s direction (up).

    Greetings!

Yay for Petey and his rescuers! And thank you SQ and HRH,B for providing the links!

Wolfie’s Mom: Thanks for the picture of our Wee Warrior, Addie! So is sooo cute! She is always in my thoughts and prayers.

“La La Land” did quite well at the Golden Globes!

Grizz and I watched the documentary “Weiner” on Saturday. We both felt like we needed to take very hot showers after watching it. What a train-wreck! Weiner is a very arrogant, sleazy, creep.

    Good day to all!

Good morning. Happy that Petey was rescued in time.

Wose, I agree about Weiner. Sleaze bag!

I watched the HBO doc. on Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. Well done, and I think it gave a realistic view of both women.

Hi, guys. Mom heard on the news that the storm on the west coast took down the Redwood that is seen in so many photos (the one where you could drive a car through the base.) Has anyone else heard that story? We thought that Redwoods were protected from storms because of how close together they grow.

California had a severe drought and now severe storms and flooding. Very sad. Pop has a photo of him driving thru that tunnel tree. (Sorry Bee)

Good day all. In a couple of days it will be in the teens then go back down to zero and slightly below. On the one hand I am glad I am not living up north any longer but I’ve been acclimated enough that it feels cold.

Have any of you had carpel tunnel? What did you do about it? I’ve tried arthritis medicine, acupuncture and a brace. I am thinking of trying a cortisone shot before going with surgery? If any of you had surgery, what did it involve?

Sad things are happening with my cat rescue group. We’ve always had too many cats and too few people but recently two people have resigned from the board and the President and co-founder is considering resigning due to “issues.” {{{sigh}}}. We are having a special meeting today to figure out how we can go forward.

CHobbit, small rescue groups often become overwhelmed. Mom used to volunteer for a small cat rescue in the area. It was run by one woman and Mom was her only long-time volunteer. It totally took over her life. There are always too many cats (and dogs too)in need of rescue. Besides working full time, this lady spent early morning and late evenings feeding and cleaning then both days of her weekends were filled up with adoptions set up in pet stores. She finally shut the rescue down. She kept the cats that were in her care and continues to take care of them but does not take in any more or set up adoptions.

Someone once recommended to Mom that she start a rescue but she knows after seeing the time (and money) required, she could not do it.

By the way, the 3 kittens that were only supposed to be here until Thanksgiving, ARE STILL HERE!!! Big surprise! Mom did get the lady who contacted her about fostering to take the mama cat back and be responsible for finding it a home. Mom has it set up with a rescue to take the babies on the weekends to adoptions BUT every weekend in January, Mom is driving to Dallas to help her sister pack her house for the move. So, I’m thinking, I have 2 more brothers and 1 sister!! If anyone is interested, I will happily borrow boxes and packing tape from Tupper and Gilly and ship Tiny, Madison and Little Linus anywhere. I have to admit, though, it is funny how much those babies love, love, love Mom!

I had tennis elbow once and wore a brace but never carpal tunnel. Sorry, I can’t be of help.

I can understand the problems with rescue. I am sure it gets overwhelming and stressful for those involved. I just do a tiny, tiny part by adopting seniors, but wish I could do more.

My Christmas Cactus is blooming! It used to bloom in late December, but now for the last few years since I moved here, it has bloomed in January. I think it must be a change in the lighting it gets. I have had it since 1975, 42 years! 5 years longer than my son has been alive!

Hobbit. I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. Easy Peasy. Don’t do them both at once. LOL. I waited for many years until I thought I would have to be getting dialysis. I wanted to be able to knit while sitting in that chair having dialysis. So I went in and had the test and had the surgery and I would do it again in a minute. I had it done in 2006 and it has been fine ever since.
It is an easy surgery. Please stop waiting and do it while you are young and healthy.

    My advice for the day.
