“What are you waiting for” indeed.
It’s a winter wonderland here. We had about six more inches of snow. A blue jay just dove into it and popped back out.
Good morning all.
9:42 am on January 25th, 2014
Hey B. Stover and everyone else–Enjoy the snow, or whatever you’ve been given today. Be well.
9:46 am on January 25th, 2014
I am crawling out from under the quilt. Taking over my duties at this here farm. And eating. Ah yes. Life is Good.
9:55 am on January 25th, 2014
Good morning all, and especially Dima. Enjoy your day and your loving family
10:17 am on January 25th, 2014
We like that blog site and the review. Unfortunately she used the word “read” as a noun, so we all know what that means!
Wonder how the MA. contingency is doing this morning.
10:37 am on January 25th, 2014
Dima, You rock!
10:48 am on January 25th, 2014
You may have noticed this on the reviewer’s page but in case you didn’t here it is. We concur. Especially since we can’t give it the finger.

10:51 am on January 25th, 2014
Macy, thanks for posting that. We saw it and loved the message, just didn’t know how to get it on the blog. The should have had just one toe sticking up in the last paw print!
11:03 am on January 25th, 2014
CHobbit. That is my favorite kind of sewing machine. What brand and do you know the serial number if it is a Singer? Sigh. I am all agog to see it. heh heh heh.
Busy day today.
I have to consult with another quilter about a raffle quilt and then go to the little fabric store for a class.
Yikes!

Here is one member pf the MA Plunderers.
Haven’t heard anything from those down the Hills.
Slow moving morning. Might try for a walk (much later).
Heat wave today. Supposed to get in the low20’s.
Alaska, you can have your weather back now!
Macy, in totally agreement.
Another nap is in order.
11:35 am on January 25th, 2014
Dima, Last night and this morning is the best of news!
Melanie, Thank you for keeping us updated through the SDD network. We love you and are all with you.
The daffodils are coming up here.
11:52 am on January 25th, 2014
I may have gone too far with my teasing of the Pipsqueak. She is now out to prove me wrong. It is snowing to beat the band, and Kat will not come in. O.K., Katawhackaboom…you ARE a Husky.
11:55 am on January 25th, 2014
Macy, Mom says to thank you for calling her attention to that very cool flip-off to cancer.
11:58 am on January 25th, 2014
We are going to watch a movie this afternoon called The Big Year. It involves bird watching and was recommended by Barb’s daughter and SIL. I bet a few of the blog members would like it.
Melanie, glad to see you up and about. Hope to hear from Mr. and Mrs. Storyteller soon.
12:08 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff: well, now I have to go find it–garage? storage nook? junk room? Later today when I get back from exercise and errands.
12:09 pm on January 25th, 2014
Tonight is the night!!! We are going to see Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt tonight at The Performing Arts Center!!!! Thank goodness, Dima is doing so much better.

We were Here Early, but it was Still Yesterday.
Melanie: Will join you for that Nap…just as soon as I’ve had my Breakfast. ☺
GO DIMA!!!
12:28 pm on January 25th, 2014
Shooting at a mall in Maryland. WTH is wrong with the two-leggers in this country? !!!! ????
12:35 pm on January 25th, 2014
Malls and schools! All these crazies feed on the publicity.
12:39 pm on January 25th, 2014
Early reports that there are 3 dead, including shooter, several wounded. People have been sheltering in place and are now being allowed to leave the mall. Random shooting into the food court from upper balcony.
1:20 pm on January 25th, 2014
Dima–Rock on! (And take it easy getting back into things…)
Melanie–Come out and play when you feel up to it–nice to hear from you.
Still awaiting Storyteller family news…
2:25 pm on January 25th, 2014
Dima: Check your collar. Tenzing said he snuck a Slim Jim in it before you left the quilt so you’d have a snack for later.
The Giant and the A team got up early this morning to drive north so they could train. What did I do? Went back to sleep.
I don’t like hearing about this violence and shootings. It makes my sparkly heart hurt. Sniff.
2:37 pm on January 25th, 2014
Found it, Tenz! I can’t seem to get enough food now! Gotta make up for lost time.
I’ll bet if those whackos with guns would go thru what i’ve been thru, they would learn to love life like i do too.
2:48 pm on January 25th, 2014
Dima: (whispering) Check Kat’s collar, I hid a Slim Jim in her collar, too. You just have to get it. If you need help with procurement, just call for the Thieves.
3:34 pm on January 25th, 2014
Friend Dima: Wise Words and True.
4:10 pm on January 25th, 2014
Tenz: Good to know you are offering Slim Jims to the canine contingency. Just to let you know…the kats prefer salmon bon bons.
Speaking of which…we would love to hear from the Herbs.
Diane: You and Wolfie are probably the only ones on this here blog with comfortable temps.
4:29 pm on January 25th, 2014
Masquers: My Lady says it is important to know favorite treats of friends. I tend to agree. It may not be salmon bon bons, but the Thieves procurred a jar of canned salmon that is waiting for any kat under the quilt. Oddly enough, I recall my Lady mentioning that she was given a jar of canned salmon as a gift last year that she has been saving for a special ocassion.
4:53 pm on January 25th, 2014
Does anyone remember their moms making salmon patties or croquets from canned salmon when they were young? Sort of a cheap, just-before-payday dinner. Barb makes them with fresh salmon, and OMD, are they good!
Tonight it is pot roast, onions, carrots and potatoes for dinner. Good comfort food in this cold weather.
5:11 pm on January 25th, 2014
Barb&Magpie: Pot Roast! Delish!
5:12 pm on January 25th, 2014
I remember salmon croquets. Haven’t had them in a long time.
5:23 pm on January 25th, 2014
Bee, When you use fresh salmon, the croquets are much more haute cuisine. The salmon steak is easy to chop if it is just slightly frozen, then you add a beaten egg, a little dill and breadcrumbs. Form patties, saute in skillet and serve with a little lemon wedge and tartar sauce. They are delish!
5:32 pm on January 25th, 2014
You can also treat it like a salmon burger and serve on a bun. This is making us hungry over here!
We are watching Grimm On Demand. Does anyone else watch it? The Lizzie Borden movie is on tonight, which we plan to watch.
5:40 pm on January 25th, 2014
B&M: We here are keeping up on Grimm also.
5:46 pm on January 25th, 2014
…and thanks for the reminder to watch Lizzie Borden.
5:46 pm on January 25th, 2014
Project!….My friend worked her fingers to the bone on her latest project today…grunt!….What did she get? Boney fingers…heh!…This project is still far from being done…sniff!…She will work on it till it tells her it is complete and that’s that…wheeze!
5:46 pm on January 25th, 2014
Strange!…We are just now watching Grimm too!…snort!… The soldier one..sniff!
6:19 pm on January 25th, 2014
Slept most of the day. Lovely.
Have not heard from those down the Hills. Will try to call Gramps later and see what is going on.
Mac and Mattie are barking at the snow plows.
Dima, I think you are correct.
6:23 pm on January 25th, 2014
Melanie!….Sluuurrrp!…snort!….Big sloppy pug kisses from Me!Me!Me! right on the lips….burp!
Staff!…Someone here wants to know if you are willing to sell her somemore of those Fern Potholders….snort!
6:27 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thank you for the recipe Barb.
6:49 pm on January 25th, 2014
They were just saying on the news that LP gas prices are the highest they have been in 24 years, and there are shortages in some places. We had to heat with LP when we were out in the country, so yet another reason to be glad to be back in the suburbs. We used to spend around $2,000 annually for it, but it would no doubt be much higher this year!
6:58 pm on January 25th, 2014
Salmon patties! My grandmother used to make those with wilted salad. Remember it being one of my favorite things when i was a kid let.
7:19 pm on January 25th, 2014
Hi Buddy and Leno!
(Cleaning my face off) Riö, thank you for the kisses.
News from the Royals’ Gramps. Both The Storyteller and Golinka are still in the hospital. Both receiving breathing treatments. They might be sprung Tuesday.
Bad, bad, bad flu.
Not sure if I’ll be back, if not TTFN
7:22 pm on January 25th, 2014
Buddy!….Where the heck have you been?…snort!…You’ve been missing forever and a day, I swear…grunt!
Melanie!….That is not the update I wanted to hear about the Golinkas…sniff!
7:24 pm on January 25th, 2014
Boy they must be really, really sick. Hospitals usually want to get you in and out. That is over 5 days, which is way more than 2! Hope they are getting The Royal treatment and will be back to tip top soon.
7:34 pm on January 25th, 2014
Melanie: Did the Royals’ folks mention needing some expert assistance with the springing part of getting sprung? We are at their service.
7:35 pm on January 25th, 2014
Melanie–Flu sucks (as we say here in the temperate climes) prayers for recovery for the Storyteller family.
Masquers–Nice to hear from you again–treat preferences are noted.
Tenzing–I agree with your lady–treats are important (and sometimes preferences are so personal…)
B and M and B and L–I not only ate salmon patties as a child, I later made them as a near-adult. Once found part of a spinal cord in a can of salmon and was able to observe…maybe a story for another time…
7:38 pm on January 25th, 2014
Master Rio–It’s good to see you in such an antic mood and enjoying your day.
I was wondering about all the TV activity y’all were discussing, then remembered that it’s probably later in the day for you…
7:41 pm on January 25th, 2014
dima–I cannot blur, myself, but am sending some air Slim Jims.
7:48 pm on January 25th, 2014
Way to go, Dima!!! Eat all you want cuz it’s important to keep your strength up!
We’re supposed to have another cold week next week. This is tough on Mom since she owns only 1or2 decent sweaters to wear to work. Gah!
7:49 pm on January 25th, 2014
Antic!?…sniff!….I take offense at your implications…grunt!
7:59 pm on January 25th, 2014
Antics are some of our favorite things in the world along with escpades, capers and forgivable misdeeds.
8:19 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thieves!….Who would’ve guessed….sniff!…Say how are the newest additions to the Snowhook family anyways? Do they have names yet?…snorkel!
9:04 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio. About the Fern potholders. There is one piece of Fern fabric left so I can make one more potholder. There might be more at the farm, but I cut these to bring to the city in case I needed potholders for the Chicken ladies. Did you want more than 1? If so…too bad. sniff.
Maybe later in the summer if I have any more of the Fern fabric left….
9:08 pm on January 25th, 2014
Gosh I worry about the Storyteller and Amalia. They must be really really sick. sniff. I hope they feel better soon.
Yikes!
Melanie nice to see you posting. Rest up some more.
Dima you are one tough Dog. Keep on keeping on. Hugs to the O’Howlers family.
Heh heh CHobbit you have a few weeks to look for that machine now. Is it in a cabinet or in a carrying case? sniff sniff. Not that I am curious or anything…
9:15 pm on January 25th, 2014
Watching Captain Phillips.
See you on the flip side at Sunday Brunch.
9:17 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff!….If you can make one more Fern Potholder and a couple of Vegetable ones, then we can start bargaining…snort!
9:20 pm on January 25th, 2014
Oh dear, Same thing with the veggie ones. I have to go upstairs and look. BBL
9:21 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff!….puffle!
9:38 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio, Have your friend check your SDD.
9:56 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff!…hmmmmphf!…burp!
10:19 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff: it is in a carrying case. It looks like an old fashioned cream suitcase. It is not in plain sight in the garage, storage nook or junk room. Yes, I do have a few weeks to locate it (and put my house in order). It would be wonderful if my shelving for my home office/craft room would arrive during this warm weather so I can unpack stuff and bring order to my garage but no such luck.
10:29 pm on January 25th, 2014
We like BSD, will see you on the flip side.
Hope everyone has a peaceful night.
10:54 pm on January 25th, 2014
OOO CHobbit that was the right answer. It is good that it is not in a plastic case but one that looks made of cream cloth. Heh heh. Oh my hopes are high.
Here is a link for Rio. I know how he loves to click on my links.

11:13 pm on January 25th, 2014
Salmon croquettes, mom’s favorite, all we know is the canned kind. There are little bones, but I wouldn’t call it a spinal column, urp.
Worried here about the Royal parents. Hope Grandpa has all he needs, especially kibble and whatever it is that kats eat.
11:16 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff!….There is no way I am clicking on that link…sniff!…You are not going to trick me into watching some old honky-tonk musician this time…wheeze!
11:19 pm on January 25th, 2014
Salmon! The canned salmon our Lady has was caught on the mighty Yukon River! Maybe some day she’ll crack the jar open and we can have a taste.
Macy: Our Lady has been worrit about not only the Golinkas, but Gramps as well. She feel very honored that she was able to talk to him and Callie when they met a couple of years ago.
Rio: Do you think you can snag a photo of your Friend’s lates project and post on this here blog when she isn’t looking? We can help distract her if needed.
11:20 pm on January 25th, 2014
BSD, we watched Captain Phillips the night I got sick. They loved it. Me. Not so much.
Mom is still singing Lyle Lovett songs.
11:21 pm on January 25th, 2014
Grampa!…I too am worried about how Grampa is doing…snuffle!…I hope he is taking care of himself and the Corgies, and the Kats and the big white fluffy guy….sniff!
11:24 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thieves!….This latest project is Top-Secret. I could get in a lot of trouble if someone finds out I breathed a word about it….wheeze!
11:28 pm on January 25th, 2014
The salmon our Lady has was caught on the mighty Yukon River. She considers it to be something very special. Maybe some day she’ll crack open that jar and we can have a taste.
Macy: Our Lady has been worrit about the Golinkas as well as Gramps. She said she has had the good fortune to talk with Gramps and Callie at length when she met them a couple of years ago.
Rio: Do you think you can snag a photo of your Friend’s latest project and post it on this here blog when she isn’t looking? We can help distract her. Please check your SDD.
11:30 pm on January 25th, 2014
Gah! We posted a few minutes ago and it went MIA so we tip-tap-typed the message again only to find the original posted on this here blog. Gah, spit, snort!
Rio: Check your SDD post haste!
11:30 pm on January 25th, 2014
Staff, excellent video.
11:31 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio: We won’t breathe a word to your Friend, but is that a yes or no on posting a photo. Giggle!Snort!
11:31 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thieves!…heh!heh!…You did not have to say all that stuff over again just to tell me to check my SDD…chorkel!sneeze!
11:32 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thieves!…That’s a big NO….snort!
11:33 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio: We are nothing if not thorough. Heh!
11:39 pm on January 25th, 2014
Tired!….Well, now that there is actually someone to talk to on this here blog, someone else is very tired and says we will be going up to bed very very very soon…whuffle!….Wot a drag – just when the blog starts to maybe get interesting….sniff!
11:43 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio: Don’t go to your warm, soft bed, yet! We have something up our harnesses that we’re very excited about sharing on this here blog. Last year, the Giant listened to a playlist put together of songs submitted by the Plunderers. You kept him company on the trail and it is very important to all of us here that you be on the trail with the team in some way. Would all youse be interested in submitting more songs for another playlist for the Giant? If so, you can start sending your song selections to our Lady. Yeep!
11:48 pm on January 25th, 2014
Koool!….Songs for the Giant on The Trail!….Wooooo!…I have a feeling I know what kind of stuff The Staff’s will be sending…grunt!
11:50 pm on January 25th, 2014
The Giant will be happy to have Tunes for the Trail. You can tell our Lady the title and artists to a song that might be your favorite or one you think will motivate or inspire the team on the trail.
11:53 pm on January 25th, 2014
Motivate!…Inspire!…There has got to be a song about Pugs that does just that…sniff!….I will have to rack my brain over this one…chuffle!
11:54 pm on January 25th, 2014
Rio: We’re pretty sure every inspirational moment of our lives involves a pug. How could it not?
11:57 pm on January 25th, 2014
Thieves!…Knowing your past records as I do, I am not quite sure how to take that compliment….wuff!
12:04 am on January 26th, 2014
Motivation!…As a group we have a very diversified love of music…snort!…I think it will be great knowing our songs of love, inspiration, motivation, and of course Pugs will be on the trail right there in AJ the Giants head….snort!…What a great thing!….wooooo!…Another great tradition for our group to participate in!…chuffle!
12:19 am on January 26th, 2014
Staff: the sewing machine is in a leather cream-colored suitcase and it is very heavy!
12:59 am on January 26th, 2014
CHobbit: I am asking for a friend, but what kind of food does a baby-donkey-if-I-don’t-get-I’m-going-to-be-in-a-very-bad-mood eat?
1:15 am on January 26th, 2014
Belle Starr: All babies thrive on love, hugs and smoochies.
