Wow–Pearl and Audrey are BOTH beauties! Good morning all, and keep warm.
9:25 am on January 8th, 2014
…and Liz, keep cool.
9:30 am on January 8th, 2014
Good morning, All.
Audrey looks great! Spence, did you manage to dig out from under all of that snow snow snow?
Be sure to read AD’s post at the end of last night’s blog. Lots of information.
Thank you AJ.
9:31 am on January 8th, 2014
AJ. not ad … duh these paws are too big!
9:38 am on January 8th, 2014
Morning all. AJ’s post from last night is great. And made us sniffle a bit.
Pearl and Audrey are lovely. We hope OFA may bring them when we meet on Cape Cod in July.
9:43 am on January 8th, 2014
Pearl is beautiful…and must make a lot of noise in that collar.
Good morning all.
9:44 am on January 8th, 2014
Mass in March, the cape in July, QAK in Feb/Mar. Is this becoming a travel site instead of a book club? Like the girls’ winter collars. One more really cold one then back to “normal”.
Have as wonderful a Wednesday as possible.
9:46 am on January 8th, 2014
OH: agree, paws are too big…not QAK but rather AK.
9:51 am on January 8th, 2014
Good Morning, All!! Loved the pics of Audry and Pearl. Beautiful dogs enjoying the holidays and the snow!
Rio, I noticed that the pug in the snow video yesterday actually was wearing a collar. Unusual for a pug, right?
AJ, thank you so much for the update. We love getting updates from both you and Rebecca about race preparation and the dogs. The Plunderers are living the life of the race through you two.
10:05 am on January 8th, 2014
Beautiful picture of Audrey. Wondering if the jingling bells bothered her. I will wear a bandana, but Barb doesn’t think I would put up with bells, no siree.
We have a question for one of the Siber folks. AJ commented that they had some injuries due to a handler who was no longer there. We are assuming that carelessness lead to dog fights. Is that right? We usually see these dogs at their individual shelters. Do they not necessarily get along together? Siber-H always says he likes being only dog. Is this more typical of the breed? I know there are 3 in Howler’s pack.
10:11 am on January 8th, 2014
Good Morning to All.
It is I who awake before the Masked One for a change.
Pretty Pearl, Enjoying the Sunshine with Spence & Audrey. Nice photo!
AJ: Loved hearing from you in the wee hours! I know you and the Team are looking forward to a Great Year.
Sorry to hear about Josephine’s shoulder injury, but happy to hear she is recovering and will be racing again very soon.
We are not clear about the injuries to the team members. Is it due in part to actions of the Handler or to his leaving?
Only 800 have ever finished the Race? We had no idea. That in itself makes it a Major Accomplishment.
The Plunderers are Very Proud to be a part of all this.
We Love You & Rebecca and All the Dogs.
Go Snowhook!!!
10:25 am on January 8th, 2014
Perhaps part of the problem was that the handler was inept and didn’t recognize the dog (or dogs) was injured and allowed her to continue to train. I think you have to be very in tune with your dogs to train them to become the athletes the sled dogs are.
10:35 am on January 8th, 2014
Somebody tried putting a bell on my collar once…”tried” and “once” being the key words here.
I am up late because I was up late, but not late enough to catch AJ’s Snowhook report. Someone here must admit to being a little choked up there at the end of his post when he quoted Edward Abbey. sniff.
We all are looking forward to a wonderful Wednesday. (thank you HOH)
Hello to Diane, B, HOH, Howlers, B&M, T&G and BooBear.
10:38 am on January 8th, 2014
I JUST went back and read AJs post and am touched and better informed about this very exclusive (in the good way) event.
Melanie–It’s just a delay and will get sorted out. You continue to loom large in my thoughts and prayers.
10:38 am on January 8th, 2014
—WHAT Velveeta shortage?
10:50 am on January 8th, 2014
Rose: Wasn’t the handler’s name Jeremy and wasn’t he helping out at the kennel when you and the Prof (Grizz) were there last year?
We are looking forward to the big Super Bowl celebration on Ground Hog Day. SupperBowl as Teddy and Bear would say. Heh.
Diane: I think B&M’s remark of yesterday was tongue-in-cheek as Super Bowl parties are famous for the use of this particular brand of cheese in chip ‘n dips. Lots of sarcasm on this here blog. You did sound a bit panicky there. Heh.
10:52 am on January 8th, 2014
…or perhaps it is I that doesn’t recognize sarcasm when I see it.
10:53 am on January 8th, 2014
We think BooBear may have a point. Maybe it wasn’t fighting that caused the injuries by an inept handler who let a dog continue to work after showing signs of an injury. We definitely think the handler was let go due to negligence of some type.
Yes, Diane, sad by true. Barb has some Velveeta in the fridge right now – first time she bought it in years. She used it for a potato casserole over the holidays. May have to do the dreaded cheese/salsa/chips combo for Super Bowl.
10:54 am on January 8th, 2014
B: Quick consultation…in the last sentence…”me” or “I”?
10:56 am on January 8th, 2014
Masquers, I think Diane and T & G’s mom both made tongue in cheek comments about Velveeta; however, the shortage is evidently true. And it is due to “Seasonal Recipes” calling for Velveeta.
10:57 am on January 8th, 2014
“It is I” that is correct (we think).
10:58 am on January 8th, 2014
Barb&Magpie: So the Velveeta Rumor IS True??? Gulp.
11:05 am on January 8th, 2014
Sad but true, Bear, if we are to believe the news reports.
11:11 am on January 8th, 2014
Yes, It is I is the correct format.
To answer Maggie’s question about Sibers getting along. We have never ever met a Siber who doesn’t love every other dog he/she meets. We especially love to play with fellow Sibers though. We just sort of play in the same way, so that is why we enjoy that most. We can’t speak for Siber-H of course, but none of us or any other Sibes that were once part of Mom and Pop’s pack liked to be alone. Well, hmmm…she says Boris was an “only child” until he was 8 and, while quite neurotic, he seemed to enjoy the attention. Of course, he had lots more attention than we get, because Mom and Pop worked separate shifts back then.
Remember, Snowhook huskies are not Sibes. So we cannot speak for Alaskan huskies, which we think are made up of all different breeds.
11:17 am on January 8th, 2014
Masquers: Just rephrase the sentence: “Perhaps I am the one who doesn’t recognize sarcasm when I see it.” Or: “Perhaps I don’t recognize sarcasm when I see it.” (I prefer the second example. You could emphasize the “I” by putting it in italics.)
Did you get a chance to watch the “Moriarity” episode of Elementary again?
11:21 am on January 8th, 2014
Greetings!
Masquers: When Grizz and I went to the Great Race last year, Snowhook had a handler named Nick. I do not know if this is the person AJ is referring to.
Sending healing prayers to Josephine.
Thanks AJ, for keeping us updated. It is so exciting to hear from you and the Pixie about the progress being made by you and the team. Those Plunderers that will be at the staring line with you will experience the trip of a lifetime!!
Remember, our little Plunderer family is always here to loan an ear, a shoulder to cry on, a quilt to tuck around a not too tip-top Plunderer. I can’t speak for anyone else on this here blog, but it is an honor and a privilege to support the SNOWHOOK KENNEL. We love your dogs, and you and the Pixie especially!
11:23 am on January 8th, 2014
Pearl is a lovely dog!
11:23 am on January 8th, 2014
I should clarify about injuries. When you train a dog team you have to be very careful about the speed and handling of the dogs. A mistep or not paying attention at the right moment or just carelessness can cause a shoulder or wrist injury. Think of it as a runner straining a muscle group. In our case the dogs weren’t run correctly by the handler causing the injury. So, it’s required a lot of attention to those dogs.
11:26 am on January 8th, 2014
Thanks for clarifying, AJ.
11:57 am on January 8th, 2014
sniff sniff cough. I am reading the blog and then napping. and then taking some antihistamines and then napping and then reading the blog. Anybody have a book suggestion for me?
yawn.

Staff, Kat is on her way.
12:11 pm on January 8th, 2014
Is she bringing books?
12:12 pm on January 8th, 2014
I will meet her under the quilt with the wool batting and the other quilt with the glow in the dark stars. OK?
12:14 pm on January 8th, 2014
quilt with wool batting, unfinished. I quess I don’t have a picture of it finished.
12:16 pm on January 8th, 2014
quilt with the glow in the dark stars.

12:16 pm on January 8th, 2014
Not to spread more rumors, BUT, there IS a velveeta shortage. There was none at the store last week (block or topper). A few blocks this week. Sheeshefoof mambo. How do you have a shortage of a manufactures cheese food?
12:18 pm on January 8th, 2014
B: Thank you. The example you gave is much clearer.
SPOILER ALERT! No, unfortunately, I have not had an opportunity to watch the last episode of Elementary again, but will do so today. I will get back to you with my input on Moriarity and the missing child. We do remember Holmes(?) saying that he believes the girl was her daughter.
Thanks for answering Bear’s question AJ. We hope you find a new handler to assist with the team very soon.
Quick healing for little Josephine and the others under the quilt.
Staff: We recommend Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. If you remember, she is the author of Started Early, Took My Dog.
12:19 pm on January 8th, 2014
Oh, Hi Kat. Do you want to be under or over the quilts? Look out for Alice she likes the pillow up top. ummmmm. Kat you are nice and warm. Abbie is keeping my feet warm and Alice is keeping my head warm and Kat is in the middle.

Staff: Beautiful quilts! Is that Eliot’s mom, ACatty, on the left?
12:22 pm on January 8th, 2014
Thanks Masquers. Started late, took the Kindle….
12:22 pm on January 8th, 2014
Is Jeremy connected to Jodi? They seemed like they were personal friends as well as involved with the kennel.
It seems like the pronoun question is more confusing when you have more than one person involved. For instance people often will say “Call Barb and I” where they wouldn’t say “Call I”.
12:24 pm on January 8th, 2014
On the left is my friend Deb who made the glow in the dark quilt from scraps I had given her. Then she gave me them back in a finished quilt. It travels with me to the cities and back.
12:27 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff: A book I’ve just started reading is The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton. It’s a “ghost story” set in 19th-century New Zealand. It won the 2013 Man Booker Prize.
Masquers: SPOILER ALERT: Yes, Moriarty said that the child is hers but made it clear that the father is not Holmes. “You did the math” is the way she begins that explanation.
12:27 pm on January 8th, 2014
Mr.Staff was telling me about the shortage of velveeta last night. I was not concerned. He says he has plenty “It lasts forever you know” humph. It is not something I eat. High sodium and dairy by-products. grump.
Now I am really going to nap nap nap. Move over kat,cat and cat.
12:28 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff: Thanks and also for reminding me it is time to charge the Kindle.

Pearl, You are beautiful!!
I ditto what My Fellow Sibers said about Sibers getting along with other dogs. I get along with all dogs, big and very small, but I especially like to hang with other Sibers.
Husky Rescue always tells people that are thinking about adopting one of us that we are pack animals, so if you can’t be with your dog all the time like my mom can, Sibers may need other dogs for company.
I am a bit unusual for the Siber tribe because I am at heart a loner. Before mom ever saw me she asked Husky Rescue on the phone for a behavioral description of me and the first thing they said was, “He is a loner”. Mom laughed and said we should get along fine because she was also basically a loner.
I like going to the dog park but I like my alone time just as much.
At the dog park or adoption event, the humans have never had to break up a dog fight that a Siber started.
12:39 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff: I sent you an email message.
12:47 pm on January 8th, 2014
Siber H is right on about husky behavior. Mom’s wolf/ husky was a lover, not a fighter. The shepherd/husky was kat-like, actually made non-dog people want her.
The husky was …a husky. Never a fight or scrap. The rotten husky (Rottweiler and husky mix) who is the d i l’s is another story. She is conflicted and agressive.
12:47 pm on January 8th, 2014
AJ, Thank you for the updates. We enjoyed reading them, and pray Josephine fully recovers. umm Love your quote by Ed Abby. Mom has a signed book of his.
AJ Thank you for taking all of us along with you on this amazing journey
More people have been to the summit of Mt. Everest than have finished the Iditarod.
GO TEAM SNOWHOOK!!!
12:48 pm on January 8th, 2014
We thought it would be unusual for dogs that live together and work together to fight, unless it might be a fight over food. Thank you for clarifying the reason for injuries, A.J. That makes more sense.
Staff, get better. Wonder if Amalia and Melanie are feeling OK today. So far Barb has avoided the wicked flu.
12:51 pm on January 8th, 2014
B: Most likely your comment in moderation will not show up until later this afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing what it is THIS time that alerted the blog moderator. Never know what is going to tick that guy off. ☺
12:55 pm on January 8th, 2014
Let me add to what Siber and HOH added to what we posted earlier. (Confused yet?)
Everyone who meets me loves me. I am not playful or kissy like my sisters or most Sibes. Mom says I am an “old soul”. I am especially loved by non-dog lovers. They all want to make an exception for me and take me home.
12:58 pm on January 8th, 2014
Siber – we would like to be loners. If we can just get that big cardboard box and some packing tape and a mailing label, we will be.
Here, kitty kitty kitty.

Jeez, mom looked at her vintage mountaineering clothes and decided to join the 21st century. This especially after Dawson commented on the brand of jacket being out of production since the late 70″s early 80’s (No disco mushing). SOOOOO new boots, jacket, underoos here, amigo. We will be styling in AK. Beside, we were just learning the joys of synthetics in the great out-of-doors back then.

T&G Mail the Herbs to C.Hobbit. Those kats would be perfect for her. Start looking for the packing supplies, NOW!
1:09 pm on January 8th, 2014
T&G and Siber H; Y’all are terrible! We have a feral cat that mom says she loves like us and the POP. T-Cat keeps the rodents out of the front and side yards, we do the back yard. In return, T-Cat gets cans of food every 3rd day unless frigid like now, then each day. She has only presented us with 1 litter of 1….maybe she is Chinese?
1:19 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff, Kat took you a book called “Love”. She wrote it.

Barb is forcing herself to read the self published book Jessica gave for Christmas, but it isn’t good enough to offer to send it to you, Staff. Did you read Comfort and Joy? Barb really liked that one.
1:57 pm on January 8th, 2014
Yeeks!
Haven’t read todays posts yet but that is a beautiful picture of Pearl.
Did read AJ’s post. Thanks for the update. Prayers being sent for Josephine and all the team members.
Checkpoint Announcements!
Way to go OFA!
Spencer Quinn has sponsored a checkpoint! OFA who often works long and hard – day and night to meet a deadline (Keep at it, Spencer!)has a work ethic that he shares with our Snowhook kennel dogs. Rebecca has chosen Ruby checkpoint because it is a long haul (70 miles) to Ruby from the previous checkpoint (Cripple) and the team will benefit from the experience and enduring strong work ethic that OFA brings to the Trail. Ruby Checkpoint is on the mighty Yukon River.
Donations are still needed for 1) Buddy; 2) Sheik & Leo (equines); and the Rescues checkpoints to be fully funded.
WhoooHoooo! A checkpoint has been opened for the Giants (AJ and Rebecca). We need donations for that as well.
We still have several checkpoints to sponsor. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Go Snowhook!
2:04 pm on January 8th, 2014
Ruby!….WoOOOOoooOOOO! HoooOOOOOO!…snort! ….Let’s hear it for our Awesome Author and of course ever exceedingly awesome Dawson!…chuffle!
2:09 pm on January 8th, 2014
Kudos to OFA for the sponsorship and thank you for the checkpoint update oh Awesome One!
The last episode of Elementary was one of the best yet. B, I just re-watched it. Heh, heh. What was your question again?
2:22 pm on January 8th, 2014
Good Day All.
Another beautiful picture of OFA’s Pack. Hello, Pearl.
AJ, wonderful to hear from you. I sent your comment on to my sister. She and all her 6th Grade math classes will be following along again this year. Last year’s classes wanted to do it again.
Hope everyone gets over the winter carpola. I believe we need a Plunderer Island. Somewhere tropical, no insects, places for our four footeds to play, a chief, and drinks with tiny umbrellas in them.
Tomorrow I go in for another PETScan. Dear Smoochers, I would love to see what you do to the machine. I can’t eat 6 hours before the exam, so I have to get up at 6am to eat some breakfast. Exam is at 12:30 pm.
I have been lazing the day away. Since it is still 12 degrees that is okay with me.
2:25 pm on January 8th, 2014
I have been ignoring the comments on Elementary. I was given the second season for Christmas. Just haven’t gotten it together to put it in my library.
Speaking of series . . Series 2 of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries has started.
We are watching it on Acorn.
2:26 pm on January 8th, 2014
This is a Little Late, but remember that “Scientific” survey?

Hi Melanie: A lazy day Sounds Good to me!
2:26 pm on January 8th, 2014
Melanie, it is so very good to hear from you. Kat is ready to accompany you to the machine where she will be petted tomorrow at 12:30 pm. How far of a drive is it for you?

Thinking of Melanie…
More Updates
Snowhook Bella: I am still awaiting word on the checkpoints you have chosen for Rose & Grizzly, the Navajo Code Talkers & Native American Veterans and Kirby Penworthy,MacyMinPin & the small dogs. Those are fully funded checkpoints!
WhoooHoooo! to our generous supporters. Go Snowhook!
2:38 pm on January 8th, 2014
Masquers–Not panic, really (more wonder that anyone would keep track of such a thing–and Velveeta is that radioactive color, too).
On the other hand/paw, I seem to recall hearing news reports of a “worldwide pimento shortage” back when I was a child and the newspeople really sounded seriously concerned, so…
2:42 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff, We are hoping this photo will cheer you up. We wanted you to know that Gilbert is alive and well and enjoying the companionship of the OleyBear Family (though he keeps his travel coat on just in case you call for him).

2:42 pm on January 8th, 2014
Staff–Besides C and B stories, what do you like to read?
2:50 pm on January 8th, 2014
Velveeta shortage!?
I personally think Kraft has floated that rumor to increase sales. I mean really! I noticed plenty of Velveeta on the shelf yesterday when I went grocery shopping. So the alleged shortage hasn’t hit Canada yet. (We still have Twinkies too.) My in-laws loved Velveeta and they both died young…just saying. (79 years old is young, right?)
On a related subject (not really cheese), I was reading that there is no actual cheese in CheezWhiz.
2:50 pm on January 8th, 2014
Velveeta has cheese in it? Whoa, I didn’t know that. snicker
The scan is just down the hill. About 35 minutes away.
2:52 pm on January 8th, 2014
Melanie – thanks for the update on Miss Fisher! We watched the first series in so little time, and were SO disappointed when it was over. We didn’t know there was a second series. Woo hoo!
We have a whole bunch of Amazon gift cards to spend. Long story short – when Mama isn’t happy with something, she tends to let management know in a polite and professional manner. Viola. Gift card rewards. Now if there was just something she wanted on Amazon….pondering.
3:03 pm on January 8th, 2014
We here love our “spray cheese”. Mom sprays it on our cookies. Yummm

Masquers: I’m going to watch Elementary again tonight. I think that my original question was answered by that article I read: They didn’t look for the kidnapped child. However, Moriarty apparently answered that when she told Holmes that the girl had been sent away. (I still don’t know how or by whom.)
3:21 pm on January 8th, 2014
They have Velveeta on Amazon!

OHs: Really love the O’Howlers Bears!

Bear Spirit Dog – it’s very true that everything in the world is on Amazon. Problem is, there just isn’t anything that we need.
(we were kidding about needing Velveeta – honest)

We are not kidding about Spray Cheese cookies. Quite the delicacy in the Oley Howler World. Youse guys whould give it a try. You will never want an ordinary cookie again.

Amazon!….Do they ship beef jerkey?…snort!snort!

More Checkpoint News!
Nulato has been named the checkpoint for the Navajo Code Talkers/Native American Veterans. From Rebecca: “Years ago, my snowmachine broke down on the Yukon River and I had an extended stay in Nulato until parts could be sent. I have fond memories of the village and the Elder who watched over me.” Like that Elder watching over and caring for Rebecca, our Native American Veterans and Navajo Code Talkers have taken care of the nation in times of great stress. We honor them with this checkpoint.
Kaltag is the checkpoint for Kirby T Penworthy, MacyMinPin and the small dogs. “We picture them riding atop the sled, hood ornament style, as AJ and the team run the Kaltag Portage.”
Last but never least, Anchorage is again chosen for Wose & Grizzly who were “there for the start last year and so it’ll be like having them there again this year.” We will be thinking of Wose and Griz at the start of the race and at the finish when AJ and team will be using the new “finishing sled” that these 2 so generously donated to Snowhook.
So that leaves 9 checkpoints, 6 of which are unspoken for. Time is running out so if you want to sponsor a checkpoint, do it soon!
Again, thank you to our Plunderers one and all! Go Snowhook!
4:58 pm on January 8th, 2014
Priority Mail?
Why NOT to send priority mail to Canada.
I received a package today that was sent Priority Mail on December 18th! It was my auction winnings! Hurray!
Thank you Rebecca but remember, don’t pay for Priority Mail to Canada.
5:28 pm on January 8th, 2014
Dawson: That’s why we sent you a New Year Card instead of a Christmas Card. We Knew the latter one would NEVER arrive in time. Priority Mail or Regular Parcel Post…when going out of the country it’s definitely Snail Mail.
5:29 pm on January 8th, 2014
Bear, Spray Cheese is what we call Nabisco Easy Cheese, similar to cheese whiz. All of us Howlers prefer our cookies sprayed with it.
5:36 pm on January 8th, 2014
Barb just remembered this morning that she had not sent a check to Rebecca for Macy’s and the small dogs Checkpoint. It is in an envelope and ready to go out tomorrow morning.
We mentioned the other day that Barb loves the Ravensburger Large Format 300 piece puzzles. They have to say Large Format, because they have some 300 piece ones that are not. Amazon has a great selection of them and they are reasonably priced. If you spend more than $35 (which would be about the cost of 3 puzzles) then there is free shipping. The Ravensburgers are excellent quality and since the pieces are large they will be easy for Gramps to handle too. Barb works them over and over.
5:41 pm on January 8th, 2014
Good luck tomorrow morning Melanie. We will be thinking about you.
Velveeta and Cheese-Whiz are not exactly what one would call a natural food so we stay away from them. Did you know that even real American cheese has yellow dye added to it for color? You have to ask for “white American” at the deli to get the natural cheese. It tastes the same, so why put more chemicals in your body? Also, better to buy real cheese than “cheese food”. The individually wrapped slices by Kraft are marked “cheese food”.

Forgot to say we love the little drawered table that the bears are sitting on. Is it walnut? Can us send it to us? Priority or regular mail either way.

Barb, Mom does not eat American cheese, or any “orange cheese”. But when her cousin mentioned Spray Cheese being one of Song’s favorite treats, she had to know what on earth that was. (Song is Aidan’s assistant dog, and a sweetheart Golden). Well, Mom got some spray cheese and now when she wants to give us a speical morning cookie outside, it is sprayed with this yummy stuff. We think all 4-leggeds would love it too. O.K. not gourmet cheese, but hey! We are not that particular!

Barb&Magpie: We checked out the Ravensburger Puzzles at Amazon. Since they are recommended for 12 years and up it shouldn’t be a problem for Someone Here to put them together. Snicker.
And on the Ravenburger website, if memory serves, there is a Carrying Case to keep the puzzle intact while working on it.

O’Howlers: I hear that cheese spray is good for going fishing too. The fish prefer it to worms. Discerning fish.

7:57 pm on January 8th, 2014
Cool!
I received a deck of cards with Tundra comics by Chad Carpenter from Alaska on each card. Now, even if I lose at cards, I’m laughing!
Carpola! I can’t find Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries or Justified on my tv.
8:35 pm on January 8th, 2014
Riö: Boy so did I! Excellent shows are few and far between. Let me know what you think of it.
Have you watched episode one of Elementary yet? We have a whole queue of shows to catch up on, plus DVDs to watch. In the summertime it seems there is nothing worth watching…now we can hardly keep track of what’s on next.
Sorry Dawson. 🙁
8:41 pm on January 8th, 2014
Dawson!…I don’t know about Canada but Justified premiered last night. I am watching it OnDemand a day later…snort!
Maskers!…So far there are a lot of new characters to keep track of. We just saw Deweys pool git shot up…wooooo!snort!
8:42 pm on January 8th, 2014

Rio: Hoho here, hoping to go to bed BUT we may come back to torment y’all at some time a bit later.

9:03 pm on January 8th, 2014
HI RIO!
What…..you’re going to bed early?
9:06 pm on January 8th, 2014
RIO! Does your friend still loving her new job with the hot-shot boss?
9:07 pm on January 8th, 2014
Hmmm.
Rio&Masquers: Justified must be on at different time in Canada. I did check all my channels last night when Masquers mentioned it but it wasn’t on then. It’s a moot point anyway as the remote has been taken from my hands because a hockey game is on.
Mollypop&Loulou’s Mom: Did you hear that your Patrick Kane is going to the Olympics for the U.S.A. and Sidney Crosby is going for Canada? Go Sydney!
9:18 pm on January 8th, 2014
Dawson, the US and Canada games will be so exciting!
9:25 pm on January 8th, 2014
Rio: I look like the good Canadians, not the bad ones.
I’ve been thinking about my avatar picture which was taken when I was young. Someday I will update it to my older self.
Note to those going to Alaska – I look the same only with more wrinkles and grey hairs.
I’m going off to read. Vince Flynn from Minnesota. Staff would not like this book because there is much violence.
Groans are coming from the couch. 2 to 0 – Blackhawks are losing.
9:32 pm on January 8th, 2014
Princess Sam: You are so right. We will be watching those games for sure!
9:50 pm on January 8th, 2014
Riö: Dave Foley is one of the Canadians! Heh, heh. Supposedly there are more cameos besides him and Randy.
Hi Rose! You are up late.
9:54 pm on January 8th, 2014
Maskers!…Dave Foley!!…snort!…Not THEE Dave Foley? My friend saw him in Boulder when he was touring with “Kids In The Hall”…heh!heh!….Justified rocks big time this season!
10:14 pm on January 8th, 2014
Maskers!…I saw the scene with the Canadians – did I miss Dave Foley? Or is his scenes still coming up?…sniff!…Maybe he looks different these days…grunt! ….Poor Randy!
10:35 pm on January 8th, 2014
Wow, it looks as if Bee had a convoluted quadruple Dawson! Impressive.
I am opening donating $100 smackeroos towards a Checkpoint in honor of Mom’s mom (Grandma Jean) and all the elders who have crossed the Bridge in recent years. The donor who puts us over the limit will win a bag of Wolfie’s Best Toffee.
10:37 pm on January 8th, 2014
Please ignore the bad grammar…..
10:41 pm on January 8th, 2014
Because I spent a distressful day at the V-e-t-s. Goliath, our neighbor’s Great Dane, had the nerve to walk into MY house. And it wasn’t the first time. I showed him a thing or two and when the dust settled I had to get my muzzle stitched up.
10:57 pm on January 8th, 2014
Oh, poor Wolfie. We are so sorry for you. How many stitches did you get? We had a Grandma Jean in your family too, so we will contribute $10 to open the bidding. We just sent another check to Snowhook today.
11:20 pm on January 8th, 2014
Riö: He was in the (bad) donut shop scene, the one carrying the brief case out the door, and yes he has changed a little since those Kids in the Hall days. lol.
Wolfie! This is terrible. Are you okay pal? Bear is going to be very upset when he hears this.
Your mom’s offer to send a package of your famous toffee is very, very tempting and the checkpoint is a good one. I’ll check our treatie supply jar and let you know tomorrow.
11:35 pm on January 8th, 2014
Saying nitey-nite here.
11:45 pm on January 8th, 2014
Wolfie Wigglebutt: Ouch! That Great Dane sounds like his 2 legged should be paying more attention…and the v e t bills!
WhooooHooo! Thanks for that super generous donation to start an Elders Checkpoint in honor of your Grandma Jean (and many others). Go Snowhook! Also, like BSD, I will add up the money I can glean from my couch cushions and will be sure to make a donation in honor of my mother, Maggie and m i l Shirley, two wonderful elders in my life.
Barb&Maggie: I have marked down your donation as well! Thanks to you two.
By the way, BStover never did a Double Dawson. She had a comment that was in moderation and was trying to figure out which part of the comment was the problem by posting one part at a time. The comments were all released later which then looked as if she was doing the double dawson dance.

Goodnight sister dear. And all the other plunderers still awake. Goodmorning LizF.
yawn….
9:32 am on January 9th, 2014
This is what I get for being away for a bit. Spray cheese? Cheese-whiz still exists? Is anyone taking advantage of the “shortage” by offering Velveeta on e-Bay?
9:36 am on January 9th, 2014
Wolfie W–No! You did what you had to do I suppose, and I hope you heal quickly. Maybe you can have some fake radioactive-yellow cheese to speed your recovery…
