Good morning!
An eagle and a murder of crows woke me up. The eagle was sitting in a dead snag and the crows were dive bombing her to get her to move on.
Cousin Elly has gone to Florida but I can use the wifi from her deck. I will try to catch up on yesterday’s posts.
Zoe: I wanted to thank you and your family for hosting the celebration of Dan and Melanie and allowing us to participate.

We cruised home last night, chatting and planning for our next show. Stopped for dinner, got home, greeted puppies and kitties, and then turned on the news.
Only then did we find that the area we had been in and drove home through had been shattered by horrendous storms. Roads washed out, trees down, electricity out – and yet, our path was calm, clear and dry the whole way.

Not a lot of damage – cars flipped over, trees down etc. No reports of injuries so far – they think the tornado was on the ground for less than a minute. Think the town they mentioned was Medford.

The storm just finished, finally, here. A couple inches of rain had been forecast but I haven’t watched the news yet to see how bad it got. As Main St. comes out of Buffalo it goes along the escarpment. The drop is about 100 feet, either on roads downhill or cliffs. I live on Main St. so this area can flood only if Noah is building an ark.

Jacqueline’s Dog Salon has closed. I don’t know why but we all got a letter saying that she closed the end of the day last Thursday. Both Loulou and Sammie were there that day but we didn’t know that was going to happen.

We had a big storm yesterday…got 1.3 inches of rain all at once. The power was out for hours.
Loulou and Sammie, if you lived here, you could go to my groomer, Claudette. She likes small dogs best. We think she only grooms me because she and her husband feel sorry for my mom.

Bear, Mom saw it coming and got me outside and back in before the deluge started. I mostly slept through it while mom and dad watched in awe.
There was the time not to long ago when mom’s timing wasn’t so good and I got caught outside in the downpour. I found shelter and wouldn’t leave it to run to the back door when mom called me.
She had to go out in it, leash me up, and drag me into the house. Well, she doesn’t really drag me. She gets behind me and pushes.

Hello Everyone–I was going to log in rejoicing about some slight rain–OK 1/20 of an inch, but very welcome anyway. Then I heard your news and that someone had been struck bu lightening at Venice Beach, which kind of puts things in perspective.
Princess Sammie–How nice to hear from you again! I hope you find something soon, or I can possibly have the kids blur by with some cantaloupe, if that would help.
Wose–Thank you for your kind words. cona is now cone-free since we had a slight disagreement about him visiting our Shi Tzu neighbor Mr. Bingley and he (Conan not Bingley) got his jaw caught in the inner rim cone and started to panic until I released the whole thing.
It’s been an exciting a.m. but everyone seems to be sleeping it off, which will make it easier for me to put in my 3 hours at the library this afternoon.

I love that video! Thank you BSD. Things are finally back to normal around the house. Over the weekend my mom’s brother, wife, and two sons were staying here while my mom slept at Zoe’s. Well, that was okay but the brother brought their dog. I do not like other dogs. I do not understand them. They annoy me. Anyway, they are gone. I guess I was a little peeved with mom. Last night I took every single thing out of mom’s purse and strewed it about the kitchen floor. I felt much better.

I’ve heard tale that when Coach, the dog not the father was but a pup only one of his ears was pointy. My Lady spied him on a windy day. He turned his head toward the wind so his floppy ear stood up straight. She said he looked so proud of himself.
