Greetings!
8:40 am on July 17th, 2014
Great tour schedule this year. I see that he will be in Denver, so Rio’s friend can at long last meet OFA. Yay!
Yesterday our new sofa came and the driveway got sealcoated. I don’t see any seals out there, but who knows.
Now my favorite mom must go off to work to pay for all these things she keeps buying. Our finances are a mess!
Have a thrifty Thursday!

Hi, Wose and B&M.
Staff – the check’s in the mail for your vanilla. My girl is a gourmet cook and will be excited to get the surprise.
Rio knows about the Siamese kats. Beau knows about something else.
We’re sorry OFA won’t be in the Midwest this year. Many of y’all will get to be with him. Wishing you a successful tour, Spence!
Take care, Everybody.

Grrrrr….I left my phone at camp last night, and I don’t go back until Friday night. I’m all alooooone in the world cut off from, oh wait I have you guys. So if I type 911, somebody look up my address, then the phone number of the local authorities, then tell them to come to my house, you don’t know why, and hopefully I will still be alive when they get here.
The Alaskans are coming for lunch, so I best do a little cleaning.
later, taters

11:08 am on July 17th, 2014
Hello All–It’s 8:05 my time and I’ve already accomplished some stuff (mostly throwing things out, but that counts, right?) ALL THREE dogs had a 30-minute walk and pretty much stayed together (Conan tends to drift toward the house and take long pauses to smell stuff when Edgar and Pretty want to move on.)
B and M–Congratulations on the new sofa–is it yours, or your Mom’s (and will you be sharing it)?
Bookmarks? We can win bookmarks? I’m so out of the loop…
11:11 am on July 17th, 2014
TOUR!…snort!…I’m on the TOUR!…WOOOOOO!HOOOOOOO!…ME!ME!ME! on the tour!…yeeeep!

11:13 am on July 17th, 2014
DianeC, you’re just out of Facebookie. That contest was in the right died bar that tells about FB.
11:13 am on July 17th, 2014
Yippee for Dawson!
At last, at last – we have sun and drier air. Mama said she wouldn’t have minded the melting thing if it melted her waistline, but NOOOOOOOO! All it melted was her spirits…and her makeup.
Today is Pack the Clothes and Pack the Van Day for the show out on Cape Cod. They leave tomorrow morning to go set up, and the show is on Saturday and Sunday.
They have done this show for years. However, this year, there had to be a change of venue. The producer said the show would be in another town up the road, so Mama made her priceline hotel reservations near that town. Then the plans changed, and the show was moved again. It is now literally around the corner from the hotel where they have always stayed in for the past years. And new their hotel is now a half hour away. AAARRRGGGHHHH!
11:16 am on July 17th, 2014
Good Morning All
The last time Spence was at Poisoned Pen bookstore it was streamed live on the internet.
I am off soon to get my Porsche serviced for the road trip to the NE. Thank Dog it isn’t the model of Porsche that costs $900 for an oil change. I will have a thrifty Thursday.
11:17 am on July 17th, 2014
Back from a bike ride and what!!!!
I won a bookmark?
I am the luckiest little old woman in the world!
I have a collection of bookmarks but rarely use them, normally I use the nearest scrap of paper I can find.
11:19 am on July 17th, 2014
If towels could tell jokes, they’d have a dry sense of humor. (Been a while, huh?)
11:19 am on July 17th, 2014
Emory boards work really well for bookmarks. They don’t fall out, but they are not as nice as one from Spence.
11:24 am on July 17th, 2014
HOH–Thanks for the puppy picture (from yesterday), also to whoever pointed out the pink tractor in the tulip video–I had to go back and double-check.
I read an odd little book “Arffirmations” to the kids yesterday, but I think they’re pretty happy with their spiritual development as it is (they didn’t bark anything back, anyway).
11:25 am on July 17th, 2014
Siber: We remember the live streaming from the Poisoned Pen last year. That was really kool. Hope they do it again.
Can’t decide if I should blurr to the celebration or hitch a ride with you and Riö Of course, I really haven’t been invited, but when has that ever stopped me. Heh. ^..^
11:27 am on July 17th, 2014
HOH–…also for clarifying the bookmark mystery (AND the joke, I guess–it was puzzling initially because I read too fast and wondered why owls would have a dry sense of humor (brain cells dropping like flies…)
11:27 am on July 17th, 2014
Good morning! Mom went to book club last night and asked about skunks under houses. Don’t bother with exterminators because they can only trap and release within the home owners property! Open up underneath, run fans into the crawl space, noise, and bounce dryer sheets will make it an unwelcome environment. Personally, I would be happy to investigate. Mom is keeping me on a leash. Mom mutters something a out the joys of rural living…
11:29 am on July 17th, 2014
Emory boards?
11:33 am on July 17th, 2014
Masquers, yes…try it.
You don’t need an invitation. You are always invited to hang out with us.
Rio, Spence will most likely have those bookmarks with him when he visits your bookstore.
11:36 am on July 17th, 2014
Scout, Where I live, animal control comes and picks up the skunk in the trap and takes the skunk down to the river to release it.
You may not have an animal control if you live in a truly rural area.
11:43 am on July 17th, 2014
Scout – tell your Mom to throw a handful of mothballs under the house too. Mothballs chase away lots of types of critters. Sometimes humans too.
12:59 pm on July 17th, 2014
You want to talk book marks, talk to cHobbit. She is the queen of bookmarks. The room that I stayed in was teeming with them. All kinds. Hundreds, and I mean hundreds! Very impressive. She needs a C and B to complete her collection.
1:08 pm on July 17th, 2014
Plane shot down with 295 people on it. Check TV.
1:11 pm on July 17th, 2014
Thank you, Siber, road trips with you and Riö are always “interesting”.
sniff. since I didn’t win the C&B bookmark on F/b, I will try the emery board.

Oh my dawg
Why do humans kill other humans?
Key word here is HUMAN!
1:43 pm on July 17th, 2014
Ugh!
I am NOT turning on the tv!
MacyMinPin: Now you mention it, I remember the bookmarks. There was so much to do in Alaska and to see in CHobbit’s Hotel. One whole day should be spent just touring the Hobbit Hotel! I was in the Peace room and it I loved, loved, loved!
Found in the shed: Nearly 20 year old a&w calendar. One woman’s trash is another man’s treasure. The man who lives in this house snatched it up and is away on his bike to see if he can get a free root beer. Heh!

Root Beer! SnowBella’s Boot Rear Floats! My Favorite!
2:15 pm on July 17th, 2014
ML and Dawson: yes I collect bookmarks! Some are in albums and some are in a box and a few of ivory and jade and other special ones that I would like to frame someday. I love that collection even though I rarely add to it. Congrats Dawson on winning a C&B bookmark. I wonder how much it will cost to get it to you.
I have been painting all week–a project for my nephew. Only doing 4-5 hours a day so not to stress me. Second coat goes on the walls today then I need to do the ceiling.
BBL
2:46 pm on July 17th, 2014
CHobbit: I don’t mind painting walls, but ceilings? My neck and shoulders say “No”!
Probably, it will cost more to send the bookmark to me than they paid to print it.
How’s Sadie doing?
3:11 pm on July 17th, 2014

T&G: The organizers of those venues don’t seem very competent. Don’t they know that people make plans according to the information they are given?
We hope their sales are through the roof this weekend to make up for the inconvenience.
7:36 pm on July 17th, 2014
BSD–I just watched the fracking prohibition video and thank you for making my day.
8:10 pm on July 17th, 2014
LL! We are so happy that you got Jem and will show your grandson! The frame even has his name and his wonderful team’s name. We did not hear from Bella yet, but we will get it ready to mail.
Now who won Twig’s Burled Arch moment we wonder. Pondering.

Creator, we come to you tonight with gratitude for all the gifts you have given to this world. We thank you for the air that fills our lungs, the food that nourishes our bodies, and the water that gives us life. We thank you for the beauty of the stars, the songs of the birds, the peace of the forests and the grandeur of the mountains.
Creator – we thank you for the very gift of being; the gift of being alive and partaking in this wondrous being life. You have given us so much, including the choice of how to honor these gifts.
Creator – on this night, there is sorrow in the world again, sorrow due to the inability of humans to respect the sanctity of your gifts. We are afflicted with pettiness and greed that makes us forget that our fellow humans are human; who love their children, celebrate their happy times and mourn their losses. We suffer from self-righteousness and demand that others live the way we want, instead of the way you have created. We forget that all humans are related, no matter their color or religion or their way of talking to you.
You have given us a family across this planet. Please help us to understand the things that tie us together, and forgive the things that pull us apart. Show us the path you have planned, where all people can be safe, happy and peaceful and honor each other’s desires for that same path.
Creator, on this night, we ask you to take from our hearts all the foolish grudges we hold. Help us to release the unimportant grievances that we hold against another, the problems that simply are not important in the long run of life.
Help us to look at each other as humans; help us to understand the depth of our connections and the ties that should hold us in union. We ask you to open the hearts of those who would create war, who would cause death to a fellow human, in the name of things that mean nothing.
On this night, we ask you to welcome the many souls who now stand before you, innocent of bringing about the end of their lives; taken from this world not by the forces of nature, but by guns and bombs and rockets, the forces of man. We ask you to hold and comfort the humans they have left behind, humans who will never understand why these lives have been taken, and whose hearts may be hardened in anger and retribution. Creator, please show us a different path, a path that will lead away from our own destruction.
We ask you to be with each one of us tonight and remind us to honor your gifts by honoring each other. We ask you to grant us the wisdom to forgive matters that are unimportant, and the humility to understand that we are only as right in our beliefs as are those who have different beliefs.
Creator – we should be here to make this world better for all. Please guide us on this mission.
We thank you for the very gift of being; and for the choice of how to honor this gift.
9:01 pm on July 17th, 2014
There is a mistake on Spence’s tour schedule. It doesn’t show anything about him visiting Willow. Surely this is an oversight that can be corrected.
Rio: We think of Kirby all the time and not just because one of the Plunderer pups is named after our friend.
Ace: Who’s a good boy?!?
9:02 pm on July 17th, 2014
Amen and thank you. “We should be here to make this world better for all.”

Tupper&Gilly: Amen! Thank you for the powerful prayer.
10:56 pm on July 17th, 2014
Amen from Texas.
Took the visitors to senior Bingo tonight. Mom, unc and I all won something, poor Auntie, no luck. I got a new sun hat so maybe the girls at the pool will quit commenting on my quirky (falling apart) straw hat.
Tomorrow is going to be jam packed with no peanut butter. Resale shop, taking auntie and mom to the cemetery where their parents are buried, then mom to doc, then camp. I am really hoping there will be food time in there somewhere. None of these things are close to any of the others.
Take care, y’all.
11:15 pm on July 17th, 2014
Amen.
11:20 pm on July 17th, 2014

Well, grump. It seems our Lady was looking forward to the Giant returning home tonight. Only, there is one problem. He returns tomorrow night. Her heart sighed—has that every happened to you?—when he reminded her he doesn’t get home tonight.
Nighty noodles.
7:34 am on July 18th, 2014
Thieves! That happens to us every day that we realize it is not a work-from-home day for Mom.
But today is a work-from-home day!
