Patch (Cont’d)
“We want some patches, too, right?” says Admin.
“Absolutely,” says Spence. “We should be clear from the comments about how to do this, but we’re not. Maybe one of the Plunderers will tell us how in the simplest possible language.”
“Or simpler. Also we have to figure out some separate avenue for non-Plunderers to get patches. FB people, for example.”
“Who’s going to do the figuring?”
“Let’s flip a coin.”
Admin flips a coin. He and Spence do that sometimes. Admin always does the flipping. Spence never wins.
Welcome Buddy.

Good morning, everyone. Looks like Spence and Admin. are going to step up for the Facebookies. Yea!
Today is a potential big day for us. The California lady who likes the house is coming at 1:00. She has seen it on line, had her parents come over twice, driven by the outside on Sunday, and is finally coming to view the inside today. Could use some prayer and crossed paws from our friends.
8:49 am on June 22nd, 2011
Poor Spence. Check the coin next time!
I’m behind times on what, who and how!
I know that someone will save the day . . .
Massive thundershowers coming out way. No tornado involvement though.
Not sure when they are hitting.
Now going to read Monday night’s and yesterday’s comments.
BBL
pondering . . . should I take notes?
8:52 am on June 22nd, 2011
Barb and MagPie,
All tails, paws and fingers crossed here!
May your house show well,
May the CA lady love it,
May she have all the money,
And everything go great!

Hey all you herders out there!!
New game called Treibball where dogs take 8 balls and “herd” them into a goal.
I did notice on their website no mention of Newfoundlands were mentioned (snicker)
Here’s a dog in action . . .

Melanie, That looks like a fun game. Bet T & G would be interested too. Did you know they bark at bears? Those are brave little corgis. Bears are scary!
Thanks you for the kind words and thoughts above.
Hoping to cut more grass, but it is wet out there.

Here’s a sad story. Barb’s d-i-l was babysitting for some kids to earn extra $$, and stay at home with her own 2. She sat for a little girl, age 3, and then briefly for her baby brother, 4-5 mos. She stopped sitting first of May and recommended someone else, but parents chose another sitter. Now the baby has a fractured arm, 2 brain bleeds for blunt force trama and shaken baby syndrone, and 3 yr old has been taken away pending investigation. Toddler is pincing herself and saying “You better go potty”, and “Don’t hit me”. Baby is in the hospital and having seizures. Not sure if he will recover normally. Oh, and sitter has 2 austic children of her own. I would say baaad decision by parents.
9:23 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good Morning!
Spence and Admin will figure it out. Thank dog! It’s certainly too much for my scrambled brain to deal with this morning.
Scrambled? As in eggs maybe. A potential breakfast item. hmm…
9:27 am on June 22nd, 2011
Hey! another Buddy joined Friends of Chet. Hi Buddy!!! There are never enough of us imo.
Barb & Maggie: We have our paws crossed, and so do the Howlers. Hope all goes well for the Big Showing today.
That story about the abused kids breaks our hearts. Children and animals…can’t take bad stories about them nohow noway.
9:31 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good Morning All!
Some heavy rain expected here in New York for the rest of the week.
B&M: Coming at you in two languages-GOOD LUCK and BUENA SUERTE!!!
That story was very sad. It makes me wonder why some people are parents.
Wolfie: My check is coming at you!
9:36 am on June 22nd, 2011
Buddy, The home d-i-l recommended had 2 small yippy dogs, and parents thought that would make for a noisy environment, so that is why they didn’t go with them. Father, who works in special ed, thought being in a home where there were 2 austic children would be a learning eperience for their 3 year old, and give her an understanding of special needs children. Personally, I think she is too young to benefit from that exposure, but that is just me. They are wondering if one of the children could have inflicted the harm. It is scary putting your children or you 4 leggeds in someone’s care.
9:36 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good morning everybody. Mom is staying home today so we can keep up with you all finally.
Wolfie, our check “is in the mail” … no really !
9:37 am on June 22nd, 2011
Spencer!… heh!snort!heh!….Spencer is going to figure this out? …snort!… Best of luck pal! I wonder what his pointy head will come up with….snorkel!
9:37 am on June 22nd, 2011
Hello everyone!
Just to clarify:
it is Barb Spirit Bear who will be shipping the patches. Not Barb and Maggie. Mom is easily confused!
I like the idea of the Facebookie patches. This could be a fundraising opportunity for Snowhook, and hopefully interest will grow. I see this as a Good Thing. However, the patch people want payment in advance and I just don’t have the resources. Pondering…..
9:38 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good Morning.
Spence and Admin: I hope you can figure out a way to get FB guys the Iditarod Chet patch.
We are to have sunshine for half a day then back to dreary and rain. The ground is saturated. It is cold (49 degrees F) and windy.
Barb and Maggie: That is terrible!
9:51 am on June 22nd, 2011
Wolfie, I would not be willing to front the money for the patches for a bunch of people you don’t know. Doing it for the Plunderers is one thing, but not the F.B. people. Don’t even consider it, resources or not!
9:54 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good luck on selling the house, Barb! Lily needs to live closer to you!
10:12 am on June 22nd, 2011
Barb&Maggie: That story was very sad. It does not seem possible such a household could have a history of childcare. We can’t even begin to imagine what the parents are going through.
Paws crossed for your home sale! It looks very promising as these people have returned a couple of times.
Melanie: The doggie herding game is a hoot! Seems a certain corgi would be very interested.
10:22 am on June 22nd, 2011
Bear: Did you get my email message yesterday?
I’ve sent Spence an email with an explanation for purchasing patches.
Good morning all.
10:24 am on June 22nd, 2011
Today’s paper has a picture of a bear trying to get out of a garage window. She got out and then proceeded to take apart the garage to get her 3 cubs out.
This was in a town. Down the hills one way (toward a certain Royal mum) those towns have trouble with bears. Down the hills the other way (toward my sister) the towns have trouble with bears.
The bears are becoming habituated to the towns. Around here? Where behind our house and the other side of our village and the highway there are hundreds of acres? The bears are wild and don’t come to visit. Of course, having the nine Newfs might
have something to do with it.
Now I’m knocking on the wooden desk, because I didn’t when I talked about the washing machine not breaking right now, and then it did.
10:25 am on June 22nd, 2011
Bear, The problem gets worse, because the father may lose his job, too. Since he works for the state or country educational system, he has to prove he is innocent of wrong doing. If he can’t prove it, it becomes he said/she said and he can’t work with children. So even tho the child stopped breathing at the sitters and she is the one who called 911, that doesn’t prove where the injury happened. Talk about your world being turned upside down!
D-i-l was called in yesterday to answer questions about the parents. She says they are wonderful people, and in the year she sat for them, never saw a problem. Sitter says nothing happened at her house, and she is pissed that she can’t sit for other children now.
10:33 am on June 22nd, 2011
Melanie, Surprised the bears don’t think those Newfs are kissin cousins!
Hope your washer/washing machine is as easy to fix as ours was.
Incidently, we say dish washer if we are refering to that machine.
10:35 am on June 22nd, 2011
Sitter!…..hmmmphf!…. I think someone really fat like AbbieTheKat should Sit on her face and smother her!…grunt! …It is so obvious that she is the abusive party in this story….huffle!
10:37 am on June 22nd, 2011
Good Morning Fellow Plunderers!
I will be doing a preliminary head count this morning for patch orders. A reminder for those of youse who haven’t already placed your order/submitted your mailing information, please do so asap. Wolfie would like the final tally by 6 pm tonight.
What did we decide about the auction patches? This could generate additional interest in bidding, as the Patch is a VERY desirable item. Wookie made some excellent points the other day about not including them in the auction; but if the starting bid was high enough to cover all expenses, including shipping and handling, it could work. Maybe just two or three that Rebecca could auction off? Perhaps one of us could purchase them up front, as a donation to Snowhook, to be submitted as an auction item-starting bid $12. The patches would be sent to Rebecca and she could mail them out from Snowhook. Just a thought. Let me know what you all think.
10:48 am on June 22nd, 2011
Tupper here all alone. Gilly is off in the corner, pen in paw trying to fill out an application to go to some kind of herding game. Kind of a tough thing to do since she doesn’t have opposable thumbs to hold the pen….and she can’t spell for beans. But she is determined to go
That bear story happened about 1/2 mile from us. The guy inadvertently closed the garage door between Mama Bear and her three cubs. Then Mama wouldnt get far enough away from the door to let the humans open it. She eventually figured out how to partially pry the spring loaded door open enough to get in but it slammed back closed behind her. So she made her own door through the window. And then went for a refreshing swim in their ornamental pond. Kind of a “so there!” as she left. Mama says that bear is her kind of girl. Wonder what she means.
10:51 am on June 22nd, 2011
Patches!….Because of the way the Bidding works, Wookie and I have decided it would be a logistical nightmare for very little money in return….grunt!….We both say NO PATCHES will be auctioned off….snort!
11:04 am on June 22nd, 2011
We also vote for no patches in the auction.
11:14 am on June 22nd, 2011
Melanie, we think you wouldn’t realize if a bear or two wandered in…you would just think it/they were one of the pack.
T&G, that mama bear sounds a lot like our mom too.
11:16 am on June 22nd, 2011
WOO WOO The patch looks great on the front page of Chet’s blog!
Wolfie, The facebookie people will have to figure this out for themselves. We don’t want you to have to do any more than what you are already doing, not to mention collecting money from people we don’t know and giving out home addresses. It is good of you to be pondering how to help them (that’s our Wolfie), but NO
11:24 am on June 22nd, 2011
Spencer!… Maybe Spencer and Admin should buy a truckload of patches and auction them off on EBAY…heh!….Send all the facebookie people over there…sniff!
11:26 am on June 22nd, 2011
Barb, The very best of luck this afternoon. Crossed paws and prayers going out for you. I think this sounds very promising.
We had a bear in a tree just a couple of blocks from my house. Mom would not take me to see it. I never get to have any fun.
11:41 am on June 22nd, 2011
Enjoyed the Border Collie video. Mom used to play a game like that with basketballs with her Border Collie. I see absolutely no point to that game.
11:48 am on June 22nd, 2011
Balls!…I’m not big on chasing balls either SiberH!….grunt!…. It’s a lot of work and no pay-off as far as I can tell…wheeze!
11:51 am on June 22nd, 2011
Gotta love that mama bear. Do you have a picture of what the garage looked like after she rescued her cubs? Am assuming there is coverage for that on homeowner’s insurance? Maybe under “vandialism and malicious mischief”?
12:02 pm on June 22nd, 2011
You all are making us laugh with the bear comments.
Okay then – it has been decided. NO auction patches.
Posting a head count in a few minutes…
12:15 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Maskers!….Is Maskers a Kat?…snort!….He sure doesn’t act like a snooty Kat. He’s sort of cool like BluKat….wuffle!…. I can see BluKat and Maskers playing saxophone together. Just jamming’ on the Jazz…heh!
12:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
On Chet’s FB page in a comment to the patch photo, Justin (Snowhook) wrote that he’d be happy to take the patch and part of Chet and the Plunderers to Nome next year. Really cool!
12:29 pm on June 22nd, 2011
That is really, totally, cool, Stover.
I suppose the facebookie people can do what we did about the patches. They will need a Wolfie and a BearSpiritDog and a Melanie to figure out how to do it.
12:31 pm on June 22nd, 2011

12:40 pm on June 22nd, 2011
SH: Perhaps Spence’s publisher will act as the Wolfie for the FB patch orders.
12:42 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Stover, That is a great idea!
12:53 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Note: Dawson will hold a patch for CHarris & Jasper. Because of the Marauding Goats situation in Canada, her patches will be sent to Staff for safe-keeping. Rio’s patches are to be sent to Wookie for forwarding on to his pal.
Wolfie: Most of us have sent our checks so you should have some funds upfront to help you out with the initial payment.
Any corrections to the list – let me know (or, dog forbid, any fauz paws, gulp!)
Thanks – Bear
12:57 pm on June 22nd, 2011
umm..that would be faux paws.
1:07 pm on June 22nd, 2011
B. I just checked the Facebookie page – over 40 comments on the patch already! So proud to be a part of this group.sniffle
1:14 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Should we do the egency-tree for those who have not answered?
I was wondering what fauz was . . . Sort of a fuzzy mistake?
I just finished emailing my five auction items to Rebecca. I was patting myself on the back but stopped when the Pack got upset with the strange behavior and barked!
If any one has photos that need work, let me know! I am now official caught up!
BTW
Wölfie, check your SDD.
1:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
I meant emergcytree or email tree.
Jeez
1:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Wolfie: Just to let you know that my dad mailed the check today to your mom. He also included an extra $20 to cover the patch for LizF as well as the added cost of mailing it to her in Australia. He thought that, with all the work she is doing in the cookbook, she was entitled to get her patch for free (that will also avoid the messy problem of converting Australian currency into U.S. currency etc.). Wookie
1:22 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Twins!….Wow! The Twins really did whip the Giants butts last night 9-2!….Woooo! That helps the Rockies out big time….snorkel! …Thanks Alice!
1:24 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Dear Masquers and Bear,
Alice M. Johnson and AbbietheKitty are in with Staff. So you can take their names off the list. Staff will be sharing with them. and also with Dawson. And anyone else that Dawson has offered shelter too.
Thanks for doing this you smart kat you.
BBL, off for lunch.
1:26 pm on June 22nd, 2011
You are welcome Rio,
Anything our Twins can do for you in our quest for world baseball domination we are happy to do.
Heh.
1:31 pm on June 22nd, 2011
I just finished last night’s comments. Zoë and I were ROTFLO@F!
She wanted to know why some of the comments were not monitored (after she cleared the tears from her eyes). I told her the software only monitors things that go on the lower limbs.
1:31 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Rio: Jazz! How did you know. This kat does play a cool sax, if I don’t say so myself.
1:32 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bear: Excellent job! Thank you.
Jasper’s mom is on FB. I’ll send her a message.
Wookie: Excellent!
I’m on the Soup & Salad section of the cookbook. Since I’m not only proofreading but also making a Word document for Liz, this is taking longer. I do hope to have it done before next week. (I am constantly hungry while typing it. Some great recipes!)
When you guys say that you have sent your auction items to Rebecca, you are referring to the description/photo right?
1:35 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Mollypop might know where TYB is.
1:39 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Staff: Heh, hen. Yes, we knew that about Allce and Abbie. A mere slip of the paw on our part, perhaps?
1:45 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Hi Masquers – we will put our address on dishlickers – is that best for you?
Sorry – we thought that when we sent our check, Wolfie’s mom would have our address, so we didn’t post it before. Mama has been working way to much and stressing over silly stuff, and she has just not been paying attention.
Bet Rio is going to yell at us for this one. sigh…..
1:48 pm on June 22nd, 2011
oh geez – we messed up again! That last message was from US, not those wrotten kats! The patches are OURS!!! They don’t get any.
1:50 pm on June 22nd, 2011
How cool is that patch!! Wolfie, we have already mailed our check.
Yes, Rio, the jacket is in the auction. Melanie already did her magic, we did our description per the format and have sent all to Rebecca!! We’re so proud that Mom isn’t the last one since she’s prone to procrastinate. So tell your friend that her skinny friends should be sure to bid!
Maybe SQ can set up a link from his FB page to the Snowhook auction so folks can skip to it easily! It’s really cool that he is willing to put the Chet name up there to help promote Snowhook!
Good luck, Barb and Maggie. Paws crossed for a sale. Your house is so pretty.
First rain in our area in months. We’ve had such a dry spring and summer. Even lakes are drying up so rain is very welcomed !
1:55 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Wookie: That is a very nice thing to do for Liz. You are the best!
B: Right, the final sized photos and item descriptions to Rebecca. The Plunder-owner will, in turn, send out the actual item to the highest bidder. At least that is my understanding.
2:01 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Yes, B, photos and description to Rebecca. Each person will ship item directly to winning bidder after told by Rebecca payment has been received. Our covering the S&H is part of the donation to Snowhook.
2:06 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Wookie, you are so thoughtful getting Liz’s patches.
As to the ball herding, Mom likes to kick balls for us to get. Meashka is the only one dumb enough to get it, because she wants Mom to play with her…as in try to pull it from her. But once Mom gets the ball back, she kicks or throws it again. Whats up with that? We say we will bring it back once…after that its on her.
We are wondering if any of the Plunderers have done “letterboxing”? Thats one of our favorite hobbies. Combines our love of hiking with our love of adventure and “finding”.
2:18 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Howlers – we are signing Rio up for a course in letterboxing. We all know how he loves to go for long hikes – especially around mountainous terrain.
(giggle)
2:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Herb Kats: You can send mailing instructions via dish or to Bear.
T&G: Okay, 16 patches to be sent in care of you. 10 for Dawson, 6 to be divided up among Tupper & Gilly, Alice & Abbie, Basil & Sage.
2:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
B should really know about the photos and descriptions now! 🙂
Have no idea what letterboxing is. Thought I had an idea until you mentioned hiking.
2:27 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Howlers: If someone throws a ball to me they shouldn’t plan on getting it back! Not familiar with letterboxing. What is it?
Melanie, T&G and HerbKats: You are making us laugh!
2:28 pm on June 22nd, 2011
From Letterboxing North America’s website: “LETTERBOXING is an intriguing pastime combining navigational skills and rubber stamp artistry in a charming “treasure hunt” style outdoor quest. A wide variety of adventures can be found to suit all ages and experience levels.”
If you know what geocaching is, letterboxing is the original, non-gadget version. Sort of reminds us of what the characters in Jane Austen books would do on a beautiful afternoon. You follow some clues (sometimes they are easy and quite clear; other times they are more difficult and keep you guessing), to find a particular letterbox. The person who plants the letterbox, puts a stamp in there, symbolic of this particular letterbox, and a log book or journal, for the finders to “stamp in”. Some people who are particularly creative make their own stamp; others (like the Howlers) buy a cool one. Our stamp is of a Siberian Husky of course. You put your stamp in the logbook of each letter box you find, along with the date and where you are from and your “trail name”. You carry your own journal, and use it to record the stamp that is in the letterbox, so that you have a record of each of your “finds”.
There are websites online that have the clues and the boxes are all over the world. Here are the 2 prominent websites.

Masquers – WHAT????? No, no, no……
We are getting 3 patches – just for us, Tupper and Gilly and our Mama. We aren’t letting the Kats have any.
16??? YIKES

We just posted a description of letterboxing and its in moderation !!!!!
WHAAAA

Uh Oh!…Maskers has hit a snag! His first faux paw actually…snort!…Whatever will he do to straighten it all out? …chorkel! …Stay tuned as the Count continues….

Thats what you get when you give a kat a dog’s job.
Ow ow ow! Buddy stop batting me!

NO NO NO 😀
Dear Masquers, Alice and Abbie live with Staff and Staff will get the 16 patches for them and Dawson. So send those 16 patches to Staff and she will distribute them.
Tupper & Gilly live with Basil and Sage and their Mom, and they are only getting 3 patches. Send those 3 patches to their Mom.
Heh,
Hope this clears things up?

We don’t get why our letterboxing post is in moderation, so we will try to post a little at a time now.

BearSpiritDog – please check you secret decoder device. We have sent our address.
(whispering – Howlers, we agree with you, but we can’t say it out loud since we live with 2 kats ourselves, and one of them is bigger than us!)
2:53 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Great Kat! Tupper & Gilly, Soooooo Sorry! Inadvertently typed your name instead of Staff’s. But not to worry. We have always had you guys down for 3 patches only. Whew!
By the way, Wolfie. Subtract Alice’s 4 from that count. As of now, we have a total of 56 orders.
2:57 pm on June 22nd, 2011
OleyHowlers, did you mention the apparel you put on your paws?
That sounds really cool. We did a treasure chest hiding when the guys were young! They are going to did it up with whatever kids they have at sometime.
I didn’t realize that they had put a treasure chest at our old house until YSAS went back after 15 years, knocked on that door and asked if he could dig it up. Well, the kids that lived there thought it was the best thing going, had an absolute blast watching and helping and discovering what he had done. He gave them the chest and they filled it up with their treasures!

Maskers!… He has made a quick and clean recovery….snort!… The count continues….

Received a note from PR Ariele, they can not figure out away to let the Facebookies to get patches.
She would like ideas.
She wondered if Snowhook could pay for extra patches and then sell them at a higher price like $12.
I don’t think that Rebecca and AJ can do that, not only will it take time, but would be costly shipping for Alaska.
So anyone have any ideas?
I know Snowhook has a Paypal button, which would make someone paying for the patches easy, it’s how to get a pool of batches from which (like that B?) the Facebookies could buy . . .
Pondering

Here’s the site for the bear and three cubs. I would NOT want to mess with that Mama Bear!

3:25 pm on June 22nd, 2011
an idea about getting patches to facebookies:
Can someone contact the patch company, tell them we are prepaying for an order that includes the Snowhook part, and the Plunderers 56. This means that the patch is already designed and templated. Ask THEM how other people could get patches. They must get inquires about that kind of thing all the time…
just sayin’
3:26 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Thanks for posting the article, but we would like to see pics of the cubs being rescued by their mom.
We did no mention that article of clothing.. but our original post is still in moderation.
Regarding the patches: can’t the supplier take paypal and distribute to the facebook friends?
3:34 pm on June 22nd, 2011
PR!… I’m still trying to digest the fact that Spencer has a PR person who can’t figure out how to get some patches to the fans….snort! … It’s a good thing ole Spence has us to spread the word about his books, that’s all I can say….wuffle!
3:38 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Secure!…. Spencer’s PR person would need someone (Mike Baker) to build a secure website for people (other than us) to purchase the Patches…..heh!….I’m sure this would cost the Publisher more money than they want to spend…..chorkel!….Sorry facebookie fans. No Patch for you guys!….heh!snort!heh!
3:40 pm on June 22nd, 2011
You shore got that one right, Brother Rio. Maybe I should go check and see if ole’ Spence is hanging out on the back porch while we all are workin’ our tails off. And what good is a hound without a tail?
3:47 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Righ-tee-O!….Rebone, what say you and I go join Spencer on that porch and let the others figure out that high-paid PR persons job…heh!snort! ….Pass that bottle this way pal…..snort!
3:59 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bernie!….Hey! Bernie could invest in the Patch!…wooo!… This is just like Tin Futures, isn’t it?…heh!… He could invest in the Patch and hope to dawg a bunch of facebookie fans would buy them for more than he invested…snort! ….The perfect plan.
4:04 pm on June 22nd, 2011
I’d say, with all this interest in the Plunderer’s Patch, Spence will have to quickly get another Chet & Bernie Mystery going. This time about their adventures on the Iditarod Trail.
4:13 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Thinking . . . Hard work . . .
Of course, it is a good way to make money for Snowhook. The bigger the lot we get the lower the price of the patch.
I’d hate for just the Patch company to make money. If some one could invest in the Patch Futures, and the cost come back to them through Snowhook???
4:16 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Copyright!….We should Copyright the Patch so none else can make a load of money off of it besides Us and Chet!….grunt!

We think we’ve just about written the dang book for him. Check it out –
A prize Pug has been kidnapped from his backyard and (unbeknowst to Chet and Bernie) he is being forced to go letterboxing through northwest Canada into Alaska.
The villianous pugnapper leaves tantalizing, and grammatically correct clues in the letterboxes.
Mischevious Kats follow along, and keep swapping out clues and inserting dangling prepositions.
But our heroes are strengthened and keep on the trail, bolstered by packs of incredibly delicious toffee.
Meanwhile, back in the Pug’s backyard, his lady love, a mysterious undercover agent looks for clues. A Husky wearing a red and white vest shows up, looking for his friend, and tells her that he has slipped out of the Iditarod in order to come get his friend, but now he needs to get back.
The Husky and the secreet agent catche up to Chet and Bernie, and they all head for Alaska. Everytime things get tough, they are aided by a mysterious band of Plunderers who come to the rescue.
They finally get to the race, where they rescue the Pug from the clutches of the dognapping professor who was determined to correct the Pug’s snort filled speech pattern.
They all go home, wrapped up in a Funky Chicken Quilt.
(only the secret agent throws the Pug over for Chet – and they head off for a vonderful vacation in a troika.
See – writing a novel ain’t that hard.
giggle
4:33 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Prize!…. I don’t think the word “Prize” has ever been used in the same sentence as Pug, and never ever as an adjective….snort!heh!heh!
4:45 pm on June 22nd, 2011
That is a most excellent novelette! Thanks for making our day.
“grammatically correct clues…with Mischevious Kats swapping out clues and inserting dangling prepositions” LOL !

Melanie: Could the patches for FB people be handled the same way that they handled the frisbees that were given out at the BEA? Someone paid for them upfront I’m assuming. I realizes that the patches would have to be mailed out after payment was received. Could the PR person organize that?
4:57 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Good outline Basil and Sage. Now fill out the story with descriptions and details.
5:06 pm on June 22nd, 2011
HerbKats: We are laughing out loud here. That story is a classic! Love it!
5:09 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bee – isn’t that what editors are for?
5:18 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Basil and Sage: No. Editors proofread finished works. Suggestions may be made but the author does the writing.
5:19 pm on June 22nd, 2011
aw shoot – and we thought that we would be rich and famous like a certain author.
oh well, back to scratching out a living for our measly catnip allowance.
sigh….
5:21 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Basil and Sage: Writing is hard work. Get to it.
5:35 pm on June 22nd, 2011
B&S: You two are very creative Cats.
5:54 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Writing!…Is hard. I’ve been trying to write up some of Wookies notes and I’m having a heckuva time…grunt!
6:14 pm on June 22nd, 2011
You had us laughing too. Great story. What about an inner editor?
We had the longest showing in history today. They got here at 1:00 and left at 3:30. 2 1/2 hours. She loved the property, but Barb has a feeling she can’t afford it until she and her husband sell their CA property. I think it was a waste of everyone’s time, because she is probably getting way ahead of herself. She said if she could get a good job here, she would buy it today, but I think she is 1-2 years away from retirement, judging from a couple of things her mom said. We are drained.
6:15 pm on June 22nd, 2011
I either forgot to press submit or my comment is out in ether ether land.
Ahemmm.
“dognapping professor” Snicker!
6:16 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Barb and MagPie,
That’s the PITTS! All the energy of getting ready and then being there and listening and hoping . . .
Jeez louise.
6:34 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Hey, y’all! Mom’s home, so here I am! I loved the story — I can’t wait until someone turns it into a full-blown novel. Spence?
Barb and Maggie: Paws crossed that your viewing turns into a full-blown offer!
6:35 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Barb & Magpie: Hopefully, something will come through money-wise for her. She must be very interested having come all the way from California to see your property.
6:38 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Basil & Sage: Personally we think you should have your very own patch just for submitting that cool story. Whataya say corgis?
6:43 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Hey, Macy! You’re on my “Chet’s Friends” right now! I love recognizing my buddies (that’s buddies, not Buddy!) up there!
6:47 pm on June 22nd, 2011
By the way, Dawson, Dad won an internet auction for a lens for Mom’s camera the other day, but the Canadian postal service is holding it hostage. Or maybe it’s really those marauding goats, and the Canadian government is covering it up for national security reasons!
6:54 pm on June 22nd, 2011
A couple more hours remaining to get your orders in for the patch. As of this posting we have not heard from Molly(ABP), Tyb and of course , Natasha. We are thinking Nattie will somehow manage to secretly obtain a patch, being a Vorld Famous Spy and all. Can any of you think of any others that haven’t been mentioned?
6:59 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bear, Actually she didn’t come from CA to see the house. She has been calling and emailing about it for months, but her parents live 20 miles away (she grew up there) and she flew in to visit them. Wants to move back here to be closer to family.
7:25 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Kirby T: News from the Canadian Gov’t on the Postal Strike is that a bill has been introduced to legislate the workers back to work and will pass later this week…or by early next week, depending on the official oppositions delaying tactics.
If it’s the marauding goats, the legislation will have no effect.
7:27 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bear: I sent Tyb a message on FB asking about ordering a patch. I also sent Jasper’s mom a message.
7:28 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Zoë bought a pool vacuum for ALL the Dog Hair!
It’s called the Big Sucker Leaf Pool Vacuum.
I’ve been laughing for hours!
Been pouring here for hours and hours and hours. Tomorrow it’s supposed to pour and pour and pour.
Those of you in the Midwest? You were supposed to send this to Siber-H and Macy!
8:03 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Love the story, Herbs. There is hope for you two kats.
Our June weather has finally gone into a normal June weather pattern. I was hoping that would mean that the ones of you that are getting so much rain, would get less rain. It is not going to work that way. Our draught is still on big time, but the wind has stopped blowing 100 mph every day.
Barb, I’m sorry it didn”t work out this afternoon. The lady obviously wants your house.
8:04 pm on June 22nd, 2011
We’ve been having pouring rain alternating with sunshine all day long.
8:09 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bear: Jasper’s mom replied that they don’t want a patch. They are in the midst of moving closer to work and will be back on the blog after that is finalized.
8:11 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.
Night all!
and Thanks Dale Evans Rogers
8:15 pm on June 22nd, 2011

8:41 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Bear, are we supposed to include patches for SQ and the large patch for the race in our order? Melanie would know. We seem to remember that that was already handled by the PR person, but are not certain. Anybody remember??
8:44 pm on June 22nd, 2011
G&BB: Patches for SQ and the large patches are taken care of by PR.
8:57 pm on June 22nd, 2011
We just had some fresh beets from the garden. Pick, wash, cook, can’t get any fresher than that! Just boiled them and then added salt, pepper and butter. OMG were they good!
Night Bear, night Melanie, night Dale, thanks for the song.
We will keep fingers and paws crossed on the lady from CA. Know shw wants it, just not sure about her financing and her timing. Oh well, we have no control over those things.

Herbs: I just got on the blog now. I love the story!
I can’t take another night in a row of wokring until 1030. I am knackered.
10:46 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Just to let you know that we’re fine. Now that my dad is 85% retired we’re trying to figure out when we had time to work. We have been reading, but haven’t been doing much that’s worth sharing. After his first retirement, my dad opened his gallery and worked 7 days a week. Needless to say after getting home in the evening, he didn’t feel much like doing anything. Now with so much free time, we’ve been cleaning the cellar, the attic, and the garages. Boy have we done a job and there’s lots more to do.
When we get caught up, we’ll try to be more regular on the blog.
11:17 pm on June 22nd, 2011
Mr.Tibbs!….I’m just glad you are both okay and working up a sweat!…heh!…One day you will have to take it easy and catch up with us here at Chet’s place. We’ve been very busy. You better not miss the Silent Auction dudes!…snort!
Bed!… We are closing up shop here and climbing the stairs to our respective beds…wuffle!…She is tired and I am always in the mood for my warm soft bed with my newly sanitized baseball toys…gah!…Her mother has to clean everything!…dammit! grrrrr! …Even my bed smells like Tide…grump!wheeze!
7:18 am on June 23rd, 2011
Wow, a clean bed! How nice.
