Oh boy, Oh boy. Can’t believe we are first. Have fun out there Spence!
Rainy and going to be cold all week. We are not liking it one bit.
Rio, Did you like Maggie’s (not this Maggie) comment about the advantages of keeping rabbits in the house?

Good morning, everyone! Pasadena? As in CA? Sheesh, no wonder OFA is a bit later than usual. Enjoy the nice weather and WOOF!
Have a miraculously, marvelous Monday π

Mornin’ to B&M&L. Our mom used to have a “housebit”. He (Bunrunner) used a litter box, walked on a leash and let the cat clean his ears.

The conference sounds interesting. Here’s a link. (Spence is part of the “Meet and Treat” party tonight.)

Good morning all.

Greetings all. We went to our friend’s mini- farm this morning to get fresh eggs. We brought Gramp; he would love to have a farm. Mama bottle fed the baby goat whose mama rejected it. Gramp played “bump” with the miniature Nubian goats. We were introduced to all the different heritage breeds of chickens and walked the area where the new pig pen will be.
It’s a lovely mini-farm, but Mama says she is happy to just shop there – not really interested in the pitchfork end of things.

Good Morning All–Also to Spence (and sorry that you get the overcast weather for your visit to CA).
I am a firm believer in playing with Nubian goats whenever possible (they’re so cute, but sometimes pretty…uh…odorous) so good for Gramp.
Comments on housebuns to follow wisdom and knowledge session now upcoming.
Happy Day, all…

Good afternoon, all. We have regressed in our weather. Cold and rainy. I just turned on the furnace
. I like to buy the Sunday NY Times on my vacations because it provides reading material for days. I just read a fascinating article about giant rats that are trained to be sniff out landmines. They can also be trained to sniff petri dishes and detect tuberculosis. They are called HeroRats.
There is video. Nytimes.com/opinion

Was a cat involved? Or, was it a bad rap?

HOH–What a great photo (and what Good Dogs!)
One of my students, who has been plagued with illness (including a stomach ulcer) came to class today with a byndle which she presented me afterward saying it was to help Conan get better.
(Sob–and thank goodness she’s doing well so it can’t be construed as a bribe).
Some years ago, the world’s best dog (excluding present company) Duke the Lhasa Apso joined my small household of me, the husband, and Blackberry the bunny. Berry was a indoor/outdoor bunny and Duke learned to master his impulses to such an extent that he would come out in back and hold perfectly still while Berry hopped up and sniffed at him.
I am the only one left of that original group. Miss them all.
Also, thanks for the Otter Cork poem of yesterday or the day before.

…that “byndle” was suppoed to read “bundle”…

Diane, sometimes students have more insight than we give tham credit for.

We were indoors all day, and now Mom is making us stay inside again. Thunder is rumbling, and everyone is on watch for hail and a tornado. If youse never hear from us again, please remember us. Sniff
6:48 pm on April 20th, 2015
We were just watching the news, and it looks like the dangerous storms we had last week are in your area now, Howlers. Even brother’s family in Raleigh-Durham are in the red zone tonight. A cold front will follow. About 10* below normal all week here, so you will get it next. Stay safe!
7:24 pm on April 20th, 2015
O’H, y’all are in our thoughts as the nasty weather goes by your place. Be safe, we love y’all.
7:25 pm on April 20th, 2015
Here we had boomers early this AM and are looking for more tonight π No problem, we have conquered the dust bunnies and family is safe!
7:35 pm on April 20th, 2015
Howlers – we heard that there were tornadoes in your area – pray it ain’t so…
There is thunder coming here – we can hear it even if the humans can’t. All of us are doing the hyperventilating, panting and pacing thing. We just figure if we act pathetic enough, Mama will let us sleep on the big bed with her.
7:49 pm on April 20th, 2015
Thank Dog I finally talked Mom into coming indoors. I was steadfastly standing by the garden gate, while she and Pop were fixing the critter fence. Mom finally got the message and came inside, but Pop is now out there trying to fix our broken wind gage. sigh. Humans…can’t keep them safe enough nohow.
8:24 pm on April 20th, 2015
Meash – we know what you mean! We are only planning on sleeping on the big bed so Mama won’t be scarit.
It’s not for our benefit, you understand. We are just very altruistic puppies.
8:32 pm on April 20th, 2015
Wet snow all day periodically mixed with rain. This is the evening I do the rescue of feral cats in Willow and I have stopped in Palmer to eat and de-stress. I bet those who have come north can guess where I am eating.
8:45 pm on April 20th, 2015
Nah, Hobbit, give us a clue…
8:51 pm on April 20th, 2015
We have not heard from the Montana/Washington/Canada folks tonight. They got all the way to Miles City Montana yesterday so today was supposed to be an easy drive followed by unpacking the first half of the very full UHaul truck.
I bet they are tired!
I decided to give myself another day of packing before I had to drive home. Tonight we went out to a Vietnamese Restaurant that we love but haven’t been to in years. Just as good as remembered which is the best thing.
I plan on eating out tomorrow morning and then leftovers for lunch. Dinner? All I know is I am not cooking.
9:03 pm on April 20th, 2015
Spence!…Wow! He is on the Go!Go!Go!…wheeze!…This means his new hip must be carrying him around alright…snort! …I wonder if that Hip has played any tennis yet…heh!
Tornadoes!….Yeeeep!…You guys take cover. They are nothing to be fooled around with….gasp!
9:05 pm on April 20th, 2015
Staffie!…So tomorrow you are driving back home? …sniffle!…Tonight or tomorrow night will be the last night in your family homestead? This is a very sad occasion for me for wome reason…wuffle!
9:06 pm on April 20th, 2015
Wome?…Wome reason?…sniff! … I need someone to turn on the lamp or else…grunt!
9:08 pm on April 20th, 2015
Siber-Maw!…If you are watching the game tonight, let me just say, I have never seen Coors Field look so empty….never!
9:09 pm on April 20th, 2015
I feel the same as Rio. I am sad for Staff.
9:10 pm on April 20th, 2015
Yes Rio, It will be the last night tomorrow night. I have been told I must carry a candle around the house and say goodby to all the spaces or I will be haunted by the house. I don’t think this house is a haunting type house but I like the idea of saying goodby to it.
Fifty four years…Yeep. That is a long time for one house.
9:13 pm on April 20th, 2015
Many wonderful memories there, Staff, but it was probably the right time. How is Dad adjusting to the new place?
9:22 pm on April 20th, 2015
Possessions!…Me and my friend are the same way about our truly beloved possessions…snuffle!…I guess this is why she will not sell my other house or trade-off my old Subaru…grunt!….Why all of my books are way important with or without paw-tographs….guffle!….It is because of memories I guess…sniff!
9:31 pm on April 20th, 2015
Staff moms baby brother ls in the house that they grew up in and his raised his two kids there too. Absolutely unheard of in Southern California. You and Mr. be safe on your travels back home.
9:47 pm on April 20th, 2015
Rio, I am watching the game and, yes, Coors Field is sad. The score of the game is also sad as was the Rockies time spent in LA.
Staff, Hugs
9:52 pm on April 20th, 2015
Siber_Maw!….I have mixed feelings…snuff!….I have to think if attendance goes way down then some major changes will be made. It is all about money don’t you know?…heh!…Our starting pitcher was disgraceful and I have had it UP TO HERE with him….grump!…Why oh why do they continue to keep this guy around?….growl!
9:52 pm on April 20th, 2015
Staff – we really like the idea of saying goodbye to the house. It absolutely makes sense.
We wish all of you sisters and brother, peace, and many good memories of laughter and love.
10:09 pm on April 20th, 2015
Rio, Good point. The Rockies fans have been better than most when it comes to supporting the team. I would think their patience can only last so long.
10:11 pm on April 20th, 2015
Sense!….I know it makes sense, I also know how hard it can be…sniff!
Mad! …Men! So who here has been watching Mad Men and not telling me about it?…grunt!..I have missed 8 episodes so far..grumble!…What the hell?
10:32 pm on April 20th, 2015
Safe travels and happy memories to all. A safe night to all.
C. Hobbit: Snow? I shall not complain about rain.
11:12 pm on April 20th, 2015
Martha – that’s OK. We will complain enough for all of us.
G’night, family.
11:37 pm on April 20th, 2015
Remember me? I have been lurking every night but I fall asleep before I get finished. I spent all afternoon and evening at the ER with mom with a bad UTI. Big fun.
I think Staff should say goodby to the house too. Good old house.
All of you in harm’s way stay safe.
Gary calls me sweetie, isn’t that nauseating?
11:41 pm on April 20th, 2015
ML, I think it is so sweet!
7:47 am on April 21st, 2015
ML, I agree with Wolfie. Hope mom feels better soon. (whispering) My Grizz has always called me cutie…
Staff, may you and your family bring all the wonderful memories of your old home with you.
To all those who were in the path of the dangerous weather yesterday be safe.
8:11 am on April 21st, 2015
Wose, welcome our dear friend. You be safe, too. Off to the library here.
10:00 am on April 21st, 2015
ML – Our Mama always calls you sweetie too. Uh oh.
(We think you would rather hear it from Gary)
Stupid Corgis ended up sleeping in OUR bed last night with Mama. You would think they had never heard a thunderstorm before. Sheesh.
10:03 am on April 21st, 2015
Good Morning, Wose, Hounds, HerbKats, and Everyone.
It is the Last Day of our Sibling Visit. We will cram it full with Photos & Fun. Memories to last until the next time. sniff.
