And therefore a good time to remind everyone of the publisher’s preorder promotion for It’s A Wonderful Woof, the upcoming Chet and Bernie Christmas novel (in which Hanukkah plays a role). With the holidays in mind. the publisher will send an actual ornament to everyone who orders a hardcore or digital copy of It’s A Wonderful Woof by pub date (Oct. 19). I just finished The Right Side yesterday. Some parts of it were heading in the direction of softcore. Geez, Spence. You’ve shocked me.

I started Valerie Hobbs’ Rusty but will likely finish tonight.

David Rosenfelt’s second K Team book, Animal Instinct, arrived so I’ll read that next. (Why don’t they make all of the books in a series the same size? This is much smaller than the first one.) The third won’t be out until March of 2022.

I did buy a bunch of Dog Diaries by Kate Klimo. Hopefully by the time I finish with these four I will get replacements for Fala (said it’s delivered but it wasn’t), Fido (said it was delivered but the wrong book was in the package) and Stubby (delivered but it is an ex-library book in poor condition, NOT as described. It’s going back. I’ve already ordered a replacement.)

There are still three or four I haven’t ordered yet. I’ll likely need to to get me to at least March. But what am I going to do to get me to next AUGUST when Bark to the Future comes out?

Well, I did buy a few books on Siberian Huskies and the Iditarod. The Cruelest Mile will probably be the hardest to read. I did buy two Gary Paulsen. He is always a delight.

There is a photo of Leonhard Seppala and his sled dogs. If Freyja sat with these dogs, she would fit right in. She has the mask and agouti coloring of three of these dogs and is about their size.
