Good morning, everyone! Lucky Marti 🙂 Lots of pretty decoration fotos last night.
Have a motley Monday.
9:06 am on December 15th, 2014
Good morning HOH and All. HOH you are first! How unusual. LOL
Staff, the big star was a gift from Josh and Jess my first Christmas here. I love it, too.
Wonder what Karen decided to do with Howie while she is at work. Hope it all goes well.
Another dreary, rainy day here. Picking up Jack and Lyla this afternoon after school. Temps are still in the 50s for one more day.
I am thinking of making T & G’s corn chowder for dinner. I am going to add a diced chicken breast, so I guess we will call it Chicken Corn Chowder.

Marti is beautiful.
Good morning all.

It seems like most of the dog and cat movie stars are rescues. Shows you how much hidden talent is out there waiting to be discovered.
Has everyone seen the new pictures of Prince George? Is he adorable or what?
10:16 am on December 15th, 2014
George is a most handsome prince! Of course, both of his parents are very good looking. I really like Kate! What a breath of fresh air in that family and it looks like the affection she and William have is genuine.
Well, I read the last posts from yesterday a little late. Howie has the run of the house today. Fingers crossed! I get up at 4 or a little after to take care of the cats (and now dog) and get ready for work. Howie woke up when I got up, I took him out to pee and he came back in and said “to hell with this, I’m going back to sleep!” He slept in a chair for a couple of more hours, came and got me while I was drying my hair and I took him back out. Mission accomplished and he came in for breakfast. This allowed the cats to eat their breakfast in peace.
Hope my tree is still standing when I get home.

BooBear: Tell your mom to get one of those doggie cams…then she won’t have to wonder what is going on whilest she is gone…she will be able to see it first paw, or in her case, first hand.
10:45 am on December 15th, 2014
Marti is a Lucky Dog! First Rescued, Now a co-Star on the Big Screen.
Barb,Magpie,Lucy: We, too, saw the Beautiful Star on your house yesterday; but were so amazed we couldn’t believe our eyes.
Okay…a Motley Monday it will be.

Greetings everyone

We have decided that the Wrotten Kats are certainly not traumatized by the Cubster. They are just Wrotten.
Does this look traumatized to you?
12:15 pm on December 15th, 2014
Gah!…Just what I want to look at first thing in the morning…grunt!
1:02 pm on December 15th, 2014
Spence: I keep forgetting to say I love your stocking!
I hope a rescue dog will play Chet in the movies.
Rio is the one traumatized, not Sage.
1:34 pm on December 15th, 2014
Dawson: HerbKats AKA the Wrotten Kats…Sage, not Basil?..I Forgot. How Can You Tell?
1:57 pm on December 15th, 2014
Philip and Justin found snow and put some great pictures up on Facebookie…if you are allowed.
This is for B.
1:58 pm on December 15th, 2014

Love that picture Staff. Thank you.
And it looks very cold in Alaska.

Staff!…Is that our Team out training?…snort!…I hope it looks that way in March…sniff!
2:16 pm on December 15th, 2014
“Pause” is derived from Greek “pausis”–to stop. “Paw” is from from Middle English “pawe” which is from Old French “powe.” “Clause” is ultimately derived from Latin “claudere”–to close. “Claw” is from Middle English “clawe” from Old English “clawu.”

HRH B, you never fail to amaze us with your knowledge 🙂
2:33 pm on December 15th, 2014
HOH: Thank you but all of that info is in the dictionary.
2:47 pm on December 15th, 2014
BUT, you found it and shared it!
Today’s fotos are great, Is Basil the FOoD?
P.S. No matter what mom says, she intensely dilikes Any of the makes/remakes of Annie.
2:59 pm on December 15th, 2014
Rio! The package arrived! Unfortunately Mr.Staff saw it so my plans to hide it and eat it all myself are foiled. sigh. Oh well it is probably healtier to share. Grump.
3:04 pm on December 15th, 2014
First!…Christmas Cookies have landed…snort!snort!…I’m pretty sure one other (maybe two) will receive their tins today….chuffle!
3:06 pm on December 15th, 2014
Oh my Dog the smell! It is Christmas in a tin! Dad is eating one right now. I finished mine ASAP!
3:10 pm on December 15th, 2014
Yeeeep!…I remember that smell…snort!…All through the house and outside too…slobber!drool!
4:24 pm on December 15th, 2014
Great Christmas stockings and wonderful Christmas decorating photos.
Beautiful FOD.
I received my cookies, Rio! I had to sample one. It is DELISH!
Also received mousies. They look knitted, not crocheted, to me. Martha, if they are knit, could I have the pattern? I knit items for my favorite humane society to sell at its fundraisers. Thanks!
Raining here in Wisconsin on this Motley Monday. As the other buddy says, “At least you don’t have to shovel rain.”
4:25 pm on December 15th, 2014
About Martha’s mousies: Each one has a distinct personality. How did she do that? Creativity runs rampant in that family — in a good way!
4:43 pm on December 15th, 2014
Staff, Thank you for the beautiful picture! I wish I was there, and I wish for that much snow for Snowhook. Heck, I wish for some of that snow for me.
Good Afternoon Everyone
5:27 pm on December 15th, 2014
SiberH!…Just think, after Christmas is over, and the Supper Bowl is over, it will only be a month or two before Baseball starts up again….Woooo!
5:39 pm on December 15th, 2014
Rio, Those are very encouraging words!
WooHoo
5:41 pm on December 15th, 2014
Staff: That is a beautiful picture of what you might see on a trail in Alaska on a crisp winter day.
BSD and Barb, M&L: Basil has the black nose… yes, that is how I remember who’s who too!
Rio: Tell your friend I can smell those cookies all the way up here! Yummers.
I started up the old car today. It was reluctant and one of the tires was very low but it’s all good now. I will try to be a Sunday driver for the winter to save on gas and money. But the cold and especially any wind will entice me to drive rather than getting fresh air and exercise. I should just sell that old car.
5:50 pm on December 15th, 2014
Raining here now and 50*F Won’t freeze for several days. Crazy weather, down, up, down, up…
5:59 pm on December 15th, 2014
Christmas in a Tin! Boy, Do Those Cookies Ever Sound Good!
6:08 pm on December 15th, 2014
I only take credit for getting the Mousies from my church bazaar! I will ask our ladies for the pattern. They could be knitted, not crocheted. This is not one of my creative talents! Mine are in the area of teaching math to middle-schoolers!
6:09 pm on December 15th, 2014
We are awaiting our cookies and pretzels with our usual baity breath! (thanks to the sushi pond)
6:13 pm on December 15th, 2014
And Martha, anyone who can teach ANYTHING to middle schoolers is a patient saint! You are truly special, but we believe it takes someone really different to teach anything 🙂
6:22 pm on December 15th, 2014
We have now added two roosters to our flock. We named them Ted and Curly, after Mom and Pop’s dads! Kewl!!!
Oh! And Mom is ecstatic about her new snowflake earrings. They really are beautiful. She will be wearing them to Pop’s big vendor Christmas dinner on Friday.
6:31 pm on December 15th, 2014
Thanks, Martha! Well, whoever knit them is really talented. As a former high school and college teacher, I have always known that middle-school teachers have special abilities. Not me. (Shudder)
OH: I have worn my snowflake earrings for four days straight. Many compliments. I love them, too.
6:38 pm on December 15th, 2014
Mom is wearing her snowflake earrings and snowman sweater with the matching snowflake zipper pull to the dreaded “toddler Tuesday” at the library tomorrow.
6:49 pm on December 15th, 2014
Hi everyone – first off, to those who wonder, yes, that is black-nosed Basil in the picture. He continues to harass Cubby at every opportunity, while Sage is terrified of the little Rat. go figure.
So glad you all like the snowflake earrings. And just for the record, you all can keep all the snowflakes out there in the wide world – don’t need them here.
It has been a trying time around here. We have been trying to get the death certificate from the funeral home for the last three weeks, and gotten one excuse after another. The funeral director has blamed everyone except Captain Kangaroo – today’s email he blamed the City Clerk. What he didn’t know is that the city Clerk is a personal friend – so Mama just called her up and got the REAL story.
Then Mama got on her sh*t kicking boots, climbed on her pink bulldozer and got down to business. She now has copies of the death certificate in hand, and has to spend the evening filing a complaint against the funeral home. What fun. Happy, jolly holiday, hmmm?
7:15 pm on December 15th, 2014
T and G’s Mom: Don’tcha just wish everyone would do his or her job? Ahhhhhh!!!!!!
7:23 pm on December 15th, 2014
When mom’s grandmother passed, the DR refused to sign the death certificate so the funeral home didn’t want to touch her. Papa said, “OK, leave her here in my daughter’s bedroom. We’ll see how dead she is soon.” See, our mom comes from a weird fam-damily!
7:23 pm on December 15th, 2014
Pink Bulldozer…get OUT of her way!
7:40 pm on December 15th, 2014
In a lot of places you can get death certificates quickly–the next day or two or three. In KY you are told right up front that it will be a minimum of 3 weeks. GAH! Also even though we ordered plenty of copies, 2+ years later we are still doing stuff that requires a copy of the death certificate and we’ve had to order more.

Death!…It’s a tricky business…snuff!
9:40 pm on December 15th, 2014
Hobbit – very surprising about Kentucky. But at least everyone knows about the 3 week thing, so you don’t have insurance companies and banks and medical places chasing you down. That’s what Mama has been dealing with for the past 3 weeks.
Rio – yes, it is tricky business. That’s why we have decided not to indulge. We are going to live forever.
9:51 pm on December 15th, 2014
Polar!…Express is on. The first time I watched this show years ago when it first came out I did not like it…sniff!…But watching it tonight is different. I like it more than before that’s for sure…heh!heh!….Maybe I’m just desperate…grunt!
10:12 pm on December 15th, 2014
Night all. Tomorrow is a work day, so turning in early.
10:28 pm on December 15th, 2014
Rio – funny but the first to!e we saw Polar Express we didn’t like it either. But now we do. Maybe it grows on you.
10:51 pm on December 15th, 2014
Goodnight youse guys. And good morning to Liz F and Ruby in Oz.
I am not having any more cookies until the morning. Unless I can hold out till the afternoon.

Hello all and/or goodnight all. It seems like the days just get busier and busier. I guess I am glad I’m retired. Going to read for a while and then do some more Christmas stuff.
RIO: check your SDD in a few minutes
oodles of noodles
GO SNOWHOOK!
3:00 am on December 16th, 2014
Well, guys, first day of Howie being left at home with the run of the house was a big success. Tree still standing, no signs of an epic battle while Mom was at work and no messes by the newcomer aka Howie. Pretty good news considering Mom was gone from 7:30 am until 6:30 pm. She was so proud so him. He was very happy to see her when she got home and they went for an immediate walk. Only thing was one of the shiny sequin ornaments was taken carefully off the tree and in the bedroom. The work of one of my feline brothers or sisters.
On the sad side of the news….mom got adopted by a stray last summer that had been hanging around the neighborhood. Neighbor kitty (Nettie) finally decided to live in our garage for the last few months. Mom had food and water for her and she had her own litter box out there. She has access to the outside but usually chose to stay close. Mom could tell she wasn’t doing well tonight and she did cross the bridge a couple of hours ago. At least she got to enjoy a home with plenty to eat and lots of pets the last few months of her life.
BooBear, over and out. See you on the flip side.
