NYT Mag Cover Story
“Did you see the New York Times Magazine cover story yesterday?” Admin says. “The late Uga VII is in it.”
“Can The Bulldog Be Saved?, by Benoit Denizet-Lewis?” says Spence. “Yup, I read it.”
“And?”
“It raises really important issues about dogs and us. I’m wondering if any of our blog readers saw it and have some thoughts.”
Welcome Beau the General, Jim, Roxy.

I didn’t see the article but will try to find it. Have to get ready for school.
Good morning all.

Another reminder. Vote for AJ. Have a good day All.

Thanks, TYB, and hi Bee.
This KAT won the ARC! Mom will save it and take it with her when dad has surgery, which needs to be scheduled but we hope will be before the end of the year. Robbie will be a good companion in the waiting room.
Thank you, Mr. Abrahams, for your generous donation.
Have a good week, Everybody.

We voted for A.J.
We are stuck indoors all day because Mom doesn’t trust us on the first day of Deer Hunting. Bleh
We will be looking for that article.
Who won the quilt and the ARC and the bib???? Masquers, did you win CHarris’ lovely flowers? Good thing you rescued those from those frigid temps!
9:19 am on November 28th, 2011
Good morning Bluecat! Good job winning the ARC! Your Dad will enjoy that while he recovers.
Good morning to everybody! Happy Cyber Monday (and us Hiskies stuck indoors with a computer…imagine that).

Good Morning All!
The dishwasher is LOST! No one knows where it is! Carpola . . .
On the good side of the day, OTAS and F, along with YSAS spent the night in the new house. Papi, their dog, is very confused. The furniture is there but it’s not the right house!
Anyhoo, I read the article and it does bring up some valid points. Newfoundlands are designed to be water, draft and rescue dogs. That means a large dog with good back, heavy chest, good tail (steering) with a large head. Some breeders try to change that, never forget someone calling and asking if we have the “line” that doesn’t drool.
Zoë said if the dog doesn’t drool, it’s not a Newfoundland.

Oley, We think we were the second highest bidder on the ARC and the beautiful piece by Amalia, but were not highest on anything. We are glad you got the husky piece. We loved it, but it seems more fitting that you would have it.
Bluecat, we wish a speedy recovery to your dad, and hope he enjoys the ARC. We can’t wait to read the book.

Good morning! Up early. My garage is mostly dry from the burst water pump as is the dog pen. The pump should be replaced today while I’m at work. The car was charged and jumped yesterday so I went to the store. My intent was to buy jugs of water– my 2 dogs are way too thirsty it seems to keep up with melting snow. So….I got everything except EXCEPT water. How does that happen?
I braved the scale this AM– and I am down -30 lbs. This is the first time I’ve gone to KY and not gained 5+ pounds; in fact, I lost 3 pounds. I was able to keep on my diet during Thanksgiving which was surprisingly easy as I like turkey, ham, and green beans and salad. This diet is amazing–no hunger or cravings and the weight consistently comes off. I’ve been on it two months and expect to be through the 4 phases and in maintenance around March.
However, this morning I am having a “painless migraine.” I have the vision disturbances but no pain–must be the stress of thinking what is waiting me at work after being off. Have a good day everyone.

Did anyone see the San Diego f.b. game yesterday? We had it on, waiting for whatever show was coming on, Once Upon a Time probably. Did they really show a closeup of a player kneeling and peeing, with a big towel shielding him from the camera?
We are still reading Rin Tin Tin, and TYB is right-not a great book. More about the people than the dogs. Interesting tho, at times. Rity was the biggest movie star of the 20’s. They wrote about him like he was a human.
Also, the concept of dog training was almost unheard of, so a dog that performed on command was a novelity. People didn’t realize that you could teach a dog to sit, for instance.
10:31 am on November 28th, 2011
TYB, Thanks for the reminder to vote & Melanie for the link.

Melanie – I sent the angry letter to the iPhone to Sam’s girl at college. She and her dorm mates LOVE it!

MollyPop’s Mom, It is right on, isn’t it?
Well, they have found the dishwasher. It is 20 miles west of us. The installers are 40 miles east of us.
There is a person working on getting the two to meet at our house.
I wonder if that will cause a black hole . . . pondering . . .
11:09 am on November 28th, 2011
Yark! Don’t get me started on what humans have done to some breeds of dogs. It’s atrocious. The two-leggeds do it to please themselves and not because they care about the health and welfare of the dog breed.
Thanks for the link to the article Melanie.
Congratulations on winning the ARC, Bluecat
Hey! Check out what Chet put on facebookie.
11:12 am on November 28th, 2011
Barb&Magpie: The ARC was in our paws too for a brief moment. I’m happy to hear BlueCat was the winner, as mom & dad can now look forward to being the first of us to read the new book. Congrats to you.
That is interesting about common dog training being a rather recent concept. So, no Cesar Millan types around back then? It is understandable why Rinty and Lassie were so popular, being 2 of the rare exceptions in the animal world at the time. A lot of things have changed in the last fifty years.

Rio- good thing they have YOU!
Mama says that both Gilly and I snore something fierce, and sometimes Sage sleeps on the bed, and he’s no slouch either. The Dad gets going and Mama says it’s like being next to a pig pen that’s next to an ocean’s crashing waves, and a thunderstorm in the background.
(of course WE are never so rude as to point out HER nightly concert series!)
Hey, did anyone else look at Jim’s picture in today’s FoC? That is NOT a happy doggie in his new outfit!

Friends….I like the guy on FOC that says, “Are you in there Chet? It’s me George.”….heh!snort!heh!….That guy is funny….chorkel!

Just a quick drive by post now, but mom has just told me that I get to go meet a new v-e-t today. Apparently she saw a w-o-r-m someplace(ifyouknowwhatI’msayingandIthinkyoudo)and she says I HAVE to be checked out. Yeah, yeah, I’d like to check out some things myself, but that’s not on my list.
12:33 pm on November 28th, 2011
Good luck Jasper with the new v-e-t. Hope they take care of those little yuckies.
Bear, There were a couple of trainers that poped up in the late 20’s-early 30’s, and they actually traveled around the country and gave seminars, as the dog training concept was so foreign.
Dogs had previously (shudder) been thought of more as livestock, living outside and doing whatever job they were supposed to do-guarding, herding, hunting, etc.
In movies, there was a lot of abuse in the process of filming. In one movie 125 horses were used in one scene, and 25 were killed or had to be put down. They used “trick wires” to make them fall down in a western scene, and sometimes they even ran the wire thru holes drilled in the hoves. Dog Almighty!
12:36 pm on November 28th, 2011
Not sure if those were called trick wires or trip wires, but after an anti-animal abuse organization started in Hollywood, they could no longer use them.

We were so busy with our company and our4-legged cousin this weekend that we forgot to tell about Sasha’s party. She turns 16 on Tuesday, but we had a party for her on Saturday evening while everyone was there. Mom ordered her a cake decorated with “Happy Sweet 16, Sasha”. All 5 of us guys had a piece, after all the 4-leggeds and 2-leggeds sang Happy Birthday (well, cousin Zoe wasn’t really singing, and Kat wasn’t sure of the tune, but she tried her best). The cake was made with spinach, bacon, and cheese. The icing was “Neufatel Cheese”. Yummm. A good time was had by all.
About that breeding article, we think some selective breeding is good, as in breeding Iditarod huskies for speed and stamina. But breeding for “cute” at the expense of health is just plain stupid. Now if all breeders could breed for pretty like us AND healthy and strong like us, we’d be cooking with gas.
1:00 pm on November 28th, 2011
Howlers: I did indeed win the beautiful Birch Vase and Fur Flowers. Mom has had her eye on that one since she first heard C.Harris mention it. This will be a nice gift for her.
Who were the winners of the Quilt and Iditarod Bib? Anyone know?

Siber: Lucky Dog!!!
1:06 pm on November 28th, 2011
…will that be another credit card bill you will be intercepting?
1:06 pm on November 28th, 2011
Breeding for healthy and strong. Best idea.
Happy Birthday Sasha!
I’m glad that Patsy has never complained about any snoring. So I must not snore at all!
Between bad cop, Zoë and good cop, me, we are now on the waiting list for this afternoon. If that doesn’t work, we are first in line tomorrow.
Zoë found two tiles colors. Smaller tile for counter tops is now very expensive. She found two larger ones. The kitchen’s counter tops are heaving and sprouting mold, and MUST be replaced.
We are going with the reddish tile. It grounds the kitchen and adds color into a pale room. The wood floors from the 1800’s are deeper in color and need something else in there that is deeper. Also, it should show less Pack counter surfing dirt.
1:11 pm on November 28th, 2011
Siber, you won both the bib and the quilt??? Wowser! We were so scared you would get the dreamcatcher, especially since we were tied up all weekend playing hosts. Mom made us stay off the computer so we wouldn’t be rude to our guests. We can’t wait the Pipsqueak sees what we bought her. Mom found out and she was so angry…til we told her it was a gift to Kat. Then all was well. She dotes on that kid. We all do. 🙂
1:11 pm on November 28th, 2011
Masquers, intercepting is a good word. (and eating)
I do not snore.
Melanie, a photo please when the kitchen is all finished. It is going to look nice.
1:15 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: We think the red tile is a good choice. The dishwasher situation is not helping someone’s good reputation. How in dog’s name did the delivery miss your house? Good think you don’t NEED it anytime soon.
1:16 pm on November 28th, 2011
I like your red tile Melanie. good luck on the dishwasher installation.
OOO Poor Jasper. Little Alice had a problem like that, or was it Alton? Gosh that was so long ago I don’t remember. I don’t want Alice to be thought of as wormy in error. She would not approve.

Alton is over the rainbow bridge so he won’t mind.
1:21 pm on November 28th, 2011
Fellow Sibers, Yes, I won both. I did bid on the Dreamcatcher but I might have been grounded for weeks if I had won it along with the quilt. I’m glad the Dreamcatcher went to a Huskie home and I’m glad you got the price up there to what I think it is worth. There is a lot of detailed, talented work on that Dreamcatcher. I love what the Royals’ mum does with turquoise.
Mom would not let me bid on the fur flowers…it was something about me mistaking them for stuffed animals. I’m glad you won them. Masquers.
1:23 pm on November 28th, 2011
Red tile is a great idea in a kitchen. Not only will it look great, but also red is an appetizer- inducer.
Staff, thanks for posting the picture of your family yesterday. We think yours looks like a great, happy clan.

Anyone know if discounting the plug from the monitor to the computer could cause problems? It seems to be very difficult to do.
2:50 pm on November 28th, 2011
Way to go, Masquers. Making me look like I’m the stupid one. For crying out loud.
3:10 pm on November 28th, 2011
Moniter!…heh!…Bear, I was going to say that sounds like something a Kat would do….snort!
3:44 pm on November 28th, 2011
Is that one of the cords that has to be unsrewed?
Masquers, I had to get someone to show me how to do it the first time I did it.
But, no, it shouldn’t cause problems.
4:02 pm on November 28th, 2011
We just read an article about a gun club in Scottsdale that is inviting children to pose with Santa Claus … And a firearm. You’ll shoot your eye out, Kid…literally!!!
4:07 pm on November 28th, 2011
Siber: It seems to a plug in type cord, but mom is afraid if she jiggles it loose she will damage the connection.
Rio: Any suggestions at your end? Should we call a techie, or just go for it.
4:14 pm on November 28th, 2011
Maskers!….Why are you trying to unplug it from the computer?…snort!
4:15 pm on November 28th, 2011
Gun Club!…Oley, heh!snort!heh!….That’s funny, but it’s also very sad….grunt!
4:17 pm on November 28th, 2011
Masquers, I’m afraid it is one of those plug-ins that won’t just jiggle loose and I don’t know how to explain how to get it out of there.
Rio, Help!
Mom would call a techie or a 14 year old. Once you see how it is done, you will go ah, ha.
4:28 pm on November 28th, 2011
Rio: We have a new monitor and are trying to disconnect the old one.
4:29 pm on November 28th, 2011
Bluecat: Congratulations on getting the ARC.
Melanie: I like the red tile. It will go well with the black stove.

Think positive thoughts that YSAS gets all his stuff back.
The train took off without him with all his stuff.
5:35 pm on November 28th, 2011
Yeep!…How the hell did that happen Melanie?…snort!
5:37 pm on November 28th, 2011
Rio: Thanks for the info. It seems to be working now. Hurray!
5:39 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: No! Poor YSAS! How did that happen?
5:42 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie, Tell us more! Where was the train going, and why was he not on it?
Rio, Thanks for posting that link with the Spencer interview. How cool that he showed our Quilt.
5:42 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie, Can you make phone calls about his stuff?
How did it happen?
Masquers, glad it is working now. Mom recognizes on Rio’s link the type of plug that gave her problems the first time.
6:34 pm on November 28th, 2011
That is a fantastic video of Spence on youtube! Woo Hoo
All of us are there on the quilt.
6:41 pm on November 28th, 2011
The conductor told YSAS to get off at one station to get a ticket because he wouldn’t sell him one. The conductor knew that the train did not stop long enough for a ticket and watched YSAS try to get to the train.
His new suit and his new blazer are on the train. His ID, his new license, his apartment keys . . . Everything.
I’m just in tears here.
YSAS’s phone battery is dead. I’ve called and put in a Lost and Found report. I won’t know anything until YSAS gets home, hoping that someone will be there to let him in, plugs in his phone and calls.
6:45 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: He should report that conductor.
6:47 pm on November 28th, 2011
Aunt MollysMom was here today and, my goodness, can that woman cry! You’d think all this rain and warm weather was a direct assault on her. Who wants all that snow anyway? (I don’t want to upset her but they say 60 degrees for tomorrow.)
6:50 pm on November 28th, 2011
B. is right – that conductor should be reported. That is unconscionable .
6:50 pm on November 28th, 2011
Back from meeting the new v-e-t. She’s a nice lady. I just hid my head in my mom’s tummy and let her pet me all over. Lots of tugs, pulls, pushes, especially to my belly. After some testing and poking, the verdict is I do not have any w-o-r-m-s. Apparently the creature that my mom saw fall off me this morning is not an identifiable canine critter. Final diagnosis is I probably picked up something when I was outside for my morning consititutional, and it dropped off my fur when I came in and mom FREAKED! and immediately took me to the v-e-t for no freaking reason. So, time for a nap.
6:54 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie, that conductor is either very stupid or sadistic. He should not be in that job.
6:55 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: We are so sorry. What an idiot conductor! Have never heard of them not selling tickets on-board. Paws crossed you hear something soon. Prayers for YSAS to recovery everything.
7:05 pm on November 28th, 2011
3 texts from YSAS. “Got stud at Newark” “All stuff” “Battery gone”
So I’m hoping he means he got his all his stuff at Newark. And not stuck or Dog forbid had anything to do with stud.
Will keep you informed when I hear from him. Should call in around an hour.
Breathing a bit easier. Still want to report the conductor.
7:07 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: What a weasel that conductor is!!! Any train I’ve ever been on sells tickets on-board, but at a higher fee. Keeping my fingers crossed that YSAS gets his belongings back.
WOOOOHOOO…Congratulations to all the winners!!
So it was you, Siber-H that snagged that beautiful quilt. It was just within my reach….If I had to be outbid by anyone, I’m glad it was you! (whispering) You’re my sweetie!
Staff: It is nice to see you all. Great photo!!
Rebecca: When you have a sec, please check your SDD. Message from November 27th…..
7:19 pm on November 28th, 2011
Jasper: I’m glad everything is okay.
7:23 pm on November 28th, 2011
I’m in agreement with everyone else…Report the conductor!
I hope YSAS’s texts are what we think they are.
Thank you, Rose. That is very kind of you to say that. I tell my mom that if I found a 4-legged like you, I might stop being a playdog.
7:27 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie, That is sounding better. We were worried!
Oley, This is a comment to your mention of the guns and Santa. Barb had an experience out here last year. Someone sent a Christmas card (not to Barb, it was at the office) with those darling little pictures of their kids on the front. The boy (about 9-10 yrs)was in the middle photo, and he was posing with his dead deer that he had shot. One of those typical macho hunter shots. Barb freaked, and they all thought she was nuts. She said Christmas is suposed to be about peace and love and goodwill (even if you are not the religius type). It isn’t about killing. She thought it was distasteful. Their comments were that the parents were showing off the things that the kids were proud of. We gotta move!
7:29 pm on November 28th, 2011
That’s nice of you to say, Siber.
Jasper: Glad you got a clean bill of health!
7:36 pm on November 28th, 2011
Yikes!
YSAS got his stuff back – thank dog! That was too scary. Conductor Jerk.
I keep getting distracted from posting…and from putting in a final bid or two on the auction…and now it’s over. Waaaa! as Rose would say. Congratulations to the winners, the donaters and the volunteers. Job well done.
Now Staff is going to distract me by playing some cards.
7:54 pm on November 28th, 2011
First: Thanks everyone for thinking of YSAS and his stuff! It worked.
Second: It is difficult getting information from a person whose phone battery is dying.
There were two conductors on first train. The conductor who told him what to do and the one driving the train. YSAS was running next to the driver pounding on the window, yelling when the first conductor came up to the driver to tell him to stop, but it was too late.
When YSAS got on the next train, he went up to the conductor and said, “This is going to sound like I’m mad at you but I’m not, but . . .” And the conductor interrupted and said, “Your stuff is on the train ahead. It will be waiting for you in Newark.” Turns out the first conductor had called ahead and behind and had the whole thing worked out. Still don’t know why he wouldn’t sell him a ticket.
YSAS said, “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.”
He also had everything he’s done in the Unions he’s a part of, his new license, his keys, his books, his clothes, his new suit, HE HAD HIS PASSPORT in there! Yikes, talk about dangerous.
He thanked the new train conductor got into the station, found lost and found, and said, “I think you have my stuff.” And the nice lady said, we do but we don’t know how you were carrying everything.” Turns out he had 2 bags, 1 suitcase (full of books) and his backpack and the garment bag.
He gave her a big hug and went home.
Thank Dog!
8:05 pm on November 28th, 2011
Whew! A Happy Ending! YSAS handled it very well.
8:05 pm on November 28th, 2011
Melanie: We are so relieved all is well. Thank Dog!!! Tell YSAS to start wearing one of those belts where you can stash all your important stuff – passport, license, keys, etc.
8:23 pm on November 28th, 2011
Glad it worked out ok, Melanie. What a mess that would have been!
We are so excited. The Closer and Rizolli and Isles are starting their new seasons on TNT tonight. Love those shows!
Going to go make dinner and settle in for the night.

C.Harris!… I want to say right now before I forget or get distracted (again) a big Congratulations to C.Harris for losing a Whopping 30 pounds!….woooooo!…That is a huge accomplishment and I am so proud of her for sticking to her diet and losing that weight!….snort!….Good job C.Harris!!!!
8:59 pm on November 28th, 2011
Forgot!….C.Harris, if you read this will you please post that amazing Diet Plan you are on?…snort!… I am going to print it out and put it in my friends Christmas Stocking…heh!heh!
9:33 pm on November 28th, 2011
C.Harris: No fat to keep you warm this winter. Is that a good thing? Congratulations anyway. I’m glad you got to spend time with your dad and for those words at the end to make everything worth it. I tried for your vase and flowers but Masquers snatched them up while I was off doing my Zen meditation exercises. Oooooohmmmmmm.

Glad your tail is curled again, Pug! Excellent.
I tell you, having YSAS in my life means there is always excitement.
C.Harris, I hope your car is working today. Sounds like an interesting homecoming.
Hey Dawson!

Melanie!….We here worry about him, but I bet we can not even barely imagine how you worry and fret….sniff!…He is a force to be reckoned with though, he will survive….heh!…And one day those conductors will say, “I knew him when!”….wuffle!

Gosh, Melanie. That was scary! I am so glad it worked out okay for YSAS.
Trust me, that conductor does not want to have a herd of thundering Plunderers chasing him down.
Whoo hoo, good for you, C Harris!

SiberH!…. What do you think of C.Harris’s accomplishment?….wooooo!… I guess I always imagine your Maw as a very fit person without an ounce of fat on her because she is always “dealing” with you and your hole digging, and womanizing…heh!heh!

So much to say , so little time.
First, we are gong to send an email for the Great Toffee Tasting. Having heard everyone talk about it, we can’t wait.
Now a techie question – Mama wants to get Dad a thingie that will allow for Netflix to stream video right to the tv. She doesn’t want to go thru the computer since the home ‘puter is very, very old, and is not in a great place to sit and watch movies anyway.
So, she knows that there is some kind of device that hooks to the tv that allows it, but she doesn’t trust the people at the stores that sell that kind of stuff. It has been her experience that the salespeople there either try to sell WAY more than the item needed – or they have the IQ of a piece of kelp. No middle ground. So before she wanders into that store, she would like to know what she should ask for. All she cares about is streaming Netfliz – these are NOT video gamer people, trust me. (Dad still doesn’t even understand how to set up the microwave to defrost something) Any help would be appreciated.
Next subject – Rio this one whould be right up your alley….anyone got any idea on how to get fired from CLL. So far, Mama has told CL she was an idiot, has told her that her daughter was a spoiled brat, has refused a direct order to cancel an event, has threatened to walk out and lock the door behind her, and (inadvertantly) stolen the spotlight in newspaper coverage of CLL. And still CL loves her. The last time Mama blew a gasket with her and yelled at her for 5 minutes, CL responded by thanking her for looking out for her, and HUGGED her. Sheesh.
What does a girl have to do to get fired around here?

Rio, I think C.Harris’s accpmplishment is fantastic!! She needs to tell us how she did it, especially since she lives in a climate that seems to want people to put on weight…the cold and the dark.
Nah, mom is fluffy. She says to tell you that she doesn’t need to be skinny to watch me dig my holes. She says she doesn’t burn up that many calories gritting her teeth and rolling her eyes.
T&G Someone smarter than me will come along and answer your questions, but I’m curious about the answers myself.

Fired!….Hmmm!…snort!…My friend has never in her life been fired, but she has seen how to make it happen a few times and just recently as luck would have it…heh!…Lets see, you could use the “I’m out Sick” and then someone from work sees you shopping at Walmart….chorkel!…Or you could throw a Temper Tantrum in the middle of a department training session…wheeze!…That one is my favorite because it takes real courage to pull this one off…heh! …You can expect to be fired the very next day if you attempt this one!…snort!

Rio, the toffee will be winging its way to you next week. (whispering) Just wait until your friend goes to work and bat your eyes at her mother.
I think you will like it.

Rio: I am already packing my bags. Well, I’m thinking about packing my bags. I leave early Friday morning.
I am watching Castle.

Send mom to do it for you Amalia. She has no problem getting fired.

Dawson!…awww, crap!…snort!…We will have to deal with Customs then…grump!…Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving so soon…wheeze!…She could have “done something”…wuffle!
Goodnight!…All. Beau is already in bed chewing away at his night-time bone…grumble!…I swear he is the loudest roommate I have ever had in my life…wuffle!

Rio – one of Mama’s co-workers did that “out sick and shopping” thing. Mama got called in to work in an “emergency” to cover for a sick co-worker. That afternoon, someone came in and told Mama AND the CL how she had just run into that coach at the mall, and they ended up having lunch together, yadda yadda.
CL never batted an eye. Just said maybe the coach was feeling better.
As to the hissy fit in the middle of a training session – when did you think Mama told the CL she was an idiot. It WAS in front of all the other employees.
OK, Mama is a good employee and the customers do like her. But seriously – how can any self respecting boss put up with her?
On another note – CONGRATULATIONS CHarris. That is a wonderful accomplishment! And we love those fur flowers. Do you make them?
11:51 pm on November 28th, 2011
Rio, I told Dawson (who is in bed) what you just said and she giggled.

Gosh Tupper and Gilly,
Looks like your Mom is there for a good long time. I would say that now is the time to ask for a raise. If she is going to put up with all this, and you are going to put up with her, you should at least get more money.

I received a text from Belle Starr: ‘Why have you never told me about Siber-Monday? It is wonderful and Rose and I have the same taste in pretty things and shiny things and sparkling things.
I received a text from Luna: ‘I apologize now, but the two of them are unstoppable. I’ll see to it that my shadow pays off her debt.
What did I figure out today?—when I can’t catch up on the blog until I get home it is best to start reading from the last post going backward. I could have save myself a lot of heartache and stress with YSAS’ latest adventure.
Melanie: A dead battery in your cell phone is no excuse. Just ask AJ. A few years ago I hated my cell phone which was ironic because I worked for a cell phone. I always let the battery die—AJ didn’t like this one bit, no he didn’t. Perhaps we should have AJ give the same talking to that he gave me a few years ago that included key phrases like: worried sick, care so much, what if you needed me and it’s a dangerous world. We could probably ask Rio or snort and wheeze for emphasis throughout the huffle and gruffle.
Wolfie: Toffee? Yes, please!
T&G: Let’s see…you could do the standard issue, boring things like violate safety rules, or steal from the company, but I say get creative. Perhaps you could start answering the phone, “Thank you for calling Crazy Lady Land where the employees sane, and the boss is crazy,” or “Hello, this is Hotlips, how may I help you?”
CHarris: 30 pounds—wow! Congratulations!
I wonder if Beau and Rio’s friend are striking up the band tonight as they sleep.

Dear Wolfie,
One of the side effects of the transplant medicine I have to take is diabetes. I wish I could request some of your toffee but I am going to be a healthy person and resist the temptation. I know the people who are getting it will just love it though.
You are wonderful for doing this. Thanks so much even if I can’t have any.

Bella – hmmm. Good suggestions. Mama just couldn’t do anything like embezzling or endangering customers. She just isn’t wired that way. But she is really liking the wacky phone answering stuff.
Let’s see – she could put in a request call to the big hot shot corporate headquarters and make sure she answers all incoming calls til they call back …
Corporate is VERY straight laced and would absolutely fail to see the humor in someone answering the phone with “WHAT”. Or “Dam it Stanley, I said NO! No more borrowing my lingerie!”. Or “You better have a DAM good reason for calling here and waking me up”.
Problem is, the CL never checks HER phone messages or calls anyone back anyway…..
Back to Plan B and the lottery ticket.
sigh.
12:54 am on November 29th, 2011
T&G: A lottery ticket is probably the safer route to choose.
Night.

Staff – Mama has even done the demanded raise thing. CL was stunned by her demand, but then she gave her the raise after all.
Mama is currently the employee with the least seniority, and is the highest paid member of the staff. Including the manager.
We’re tellin ya- this CL is just NUTS!
