Now: Friend of the Month
“I jumped the gun yesterday,” Admin says.
“No harm done,” says Spence. “It’s like the Spanish Inquisition – who expects a leap day? But now we can safely say this is the last day to upload a picture to the Friends of Chet gallery in order to be eligible for March Friend of the Month.”
“Chosen by the random number generator, which should be back from the shop momentarily.”
“Winner is displayed over in the special place on the right for the entire month – where George is now – and winner’s human companion gets a signed copy of The Dog Who Knew Too Much.”
“How do you think most people deal with the leap day thing?” Spence says. “Treat it as a normal work day or as a gift of freedom?”
“Wasn’t there a movie about a couple who met only on leap days?” Admin says.
Welcome dude who belongs to C. Harris (a much appreciated voice here at chetthedog.com)

Good Morning,
I want to wish you all a Happy Leap Day. Make the most of it; you won’t get another chance for four years.
We weren’t around much yesterday, but when we did get a chance to read the blog, I felt like Waldo. Where is he anyway? To clarify: I live in PA, but I’m only 4 miles from the New York state line, and I work in NY on Fridays. The thoughts of being in an
Iditarod video are exciting, but I’m in the wrong end of Pennsylvania. Actually my
bailiwick is about 1 hour south of Buffalo and 6+ hours northwest of NYC. I hope that one of the Plunderers will be able to make an appearance in the video.
9:03 am on February 29th, 2012
I meant to wish Rio good luck with the random number generator. It would be nice to see you everyday as FOM
9:19 am on February 29th, 2012
Happy Leap Day to you, Tyb. And to Chet and Spencer and Admin and all the Plunderers. This is a Bonus Day! Live it up!
Oh we love love love C.Harris’ pup! Wouldn’t it be great if he won FOM! He is looking in here at us too…just like George who we will really miss.
9:19 am on February 29th, 2012
Hi Tyb: Happy Leap Day back at you!
My first posting somehow got caught in the Bermuda Triangle of the blog. I’m glad you are back to your tip-top self, and have become a traveling dog again!
I live in upper Westchester, on the Hudson River side, so I don’t know if I’m in the right part for the video either.
CHarris: Yipee! Your dog is such a cutie!
(Whispering) Tyb, I think it would be nice if Rio were the next FOM.
9:22 am on February 29th, 2012
I forgot….Happy Leap Day to Spence, Admin, Chet and all the Rest of the Plunderers!
Enjoy the day!

Hi Rose! It is Sadie Hawkins’ Day. Ha Ha ! Buddy keeps throwing eyes at me, thinking I will take the opportunity to ask him to date me or marry me or even get near me. FAT CHANCE !
9:31 am on February 29th, 2012
I must have missed the picture of the new pup with C. Harris. Can anyone tell me where to find it? I’ll look now in FOC to see if I can find him there. Thanks.
9:33 am on February 29th, 2012
I found him among the FOCs. He is a handsome specimen. Congratulations to him and to C. Harris.
9:39 am on February 29th, 2012
CHarris: He is a cutie. What is his name?
We’re having ice pellets rather than snow or rain here.
Good morning all.
9:40 am on February 29th, 2012
I would love to be in an Iditarod film, but I am in the wrong end of New York state. I’m at the Lake Erie end. They mean the NYC end. That means YSAS for sure!
9:43 am on February 29th, 2012
Hi T.C.!
I just found out what the origin of Sadie Hawkins Day is. You just keep playing hard to get.
9:46 am on February 29th, 2012
Shout-Out!…..To C.Harris!….Woooo!… And it’s about time to….heh!….She is the Voice Of Alaska right here on this blog!…grunt!
Photo!…Something is amiss…sniff!…The FOC is still taking new members…dammit!…Mike Baker must have stayed up late and fixed the dern thing…grunt!
10:05 am on February 29th, 2012

10:15 am on February 29th, 2012
Watch-out!….snort!….Here is something very interesting and terrifying all at the same time…grunt!…After watching this my friend checked her credit cards and both her Debit and Credit card have this radio signal thingy in them….sniff!….She is furious right now and says no one is using these cards till she can protect them somehow. Tinfoil will do the trick until she can buy a new steel enforced wallet…heh!

Ve vere not familiar vith this Day of Leap. So ve have used the google to look up.
There is custom in this country that say ok for lady to propose to man on Day of Leap.
Hmmm
Oh Siiii- berrrr. Vhere arrrre you?
10:48 am on February 29th, 2012
Well, you all….he’s a she or more properly an it. But it seems like I call all my dogs a he and all my cats a she. Her name is Lady (already named at the shelter). She is 12 now but in her younger days could put it in 5th gear and zoom over the horizon. I always thought she could have been a sled dog. As it was it took a lot of stalking and patience to get her mug shot.
Natasha–good luck with the proposal thing.
Rio–good luck with the FOM thing even though if you win, we will never hear the end of it.
10:58 am on February 29th, 2012
FOM!…heh!snort!…If I do happen to win the FOM youse guyzes life will be a living hell for one whole month….chorkel!gurgle!choke!
11:11 am on February 29th, 2012
Rio: The picture of Beau on last night’s blog was very sweet.
When you become FOM, will you be wearing a crown, and purple robe? Will the Plunderers have to bow down to you, and speak to you only when spoken to??
Rebecca: Please check your SDD when able.
11:14 am on February 29th, 2012
Rio, Check your SDD
11:15 am on February 29th, 2012
Rose!…Let’s just say, you will never hear the end of it…heh!heh!

Here’s a short article about leap year from Farmer’s Almanac.
11:28 am on February 29th, 2012
I agree with Spence, C.Harris is a much appreciated voice here on the blog. She tell us Alaskan stories and now puts up photos of Alaska for ME! ME! ME!
Mom’s dad was born on leap day.
Sam, I think your folks should drive you to the Iditarod audition. You could be a star in with all those huskies.
11:29 am on February 29th, 2012
Bonus Day.
Leaping for Joy!
11:31 am on February 29th, 2012
Rose: My two legged mama says I still wear a puppy collar. It’s a paw-me-down collar. My two-legged says I’m smaller than everyone else except one of the pups, but the Outlaws think I am bigger than they are. Mama says I’m a medium—not to big, not to little. Just right.
My two-legged and the Giant seem very worried today. I’m not sure why. Do you think it will help them if I throw up on the rug with no apparent reason?—I can do that, you know.
11:32 am on February 29th, 2012
Don’t get your hopes up, Siber. I can’t let myself be chained to any one man. But I will help to hide you until today is over. Wolfie could blur you on up here. 🙂
11:34 am on February 29th, 2012
OMD! BelleStarr, why are your people worried? What is going on?
11:38 am on February 29th, 2012
Stover!…What do you think Spence meant when he said, “It’s like the Spanish Inquisition – who expects a leap day?”…snort!
11:40 am on February 29th, 2012
Rio, Thanks for the video. This is something we didn’t know about…sigh.
I’m on my way, Hot One. Thanks
Belle Starr, Don’t cause your folks any extra trouble right now.
I’m getting nervous myself so I can imagine how they must feel.
11:44 am on February 29th, 2012
We are a little late signing on, but good morning and Happy Leap Day to all.
C Harris, Lady has a very sweet face!
11:50 am on February 29th, 2012
Yikes! The pass pass technology has been around since the early 2000’s, but to my knowledge nothing like this has ever been reported. Very scary stuff!
I’m going now to check mom’s credit card. Hmm…that’s strange…I can’t seem to locate it…..
11:52 am on February 29th, 2012
The Plunderers have done much and given much, yet today I ask for more. I ask for your prayers. Late last night Lefty got loose and chaos ensued. Lefty is fine, yet Charlie, Fritz and Coach are all worse for wear. Fritz and Charlie are two of AJ main team members—they are machines that don’t like to quit. We brought them in, yet it is possible that they won’t be able to run. We are sick with worry. We have worked so hard to get to the starting line and now this. This is a big blow to the team who already lost a team member when Younger passed.
I know AJ is very upset and worried. Please pray for the dogs and AJ.
11:56 am on February 29th, 2012
pay pass (sigh)
11:58 am on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca & AJ: A multitude of Plunderer prayers are on the way!!!
12:03 pm on February 29th, 2012
GASP!…Ohhhh Noooooo!…sob!sob!sob!
12:07 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca, Masquer’s multitude of payers is correct. We will be praying for you, AJ and the dogs. Please keep us posted.
When you have a whole team to take care of, it can be very difficult.
12:17 pm on February 29th, 2012
Prayers, prayers, and more prayers here, Snowhook
12:17 pm on February 29th, 2012
Miss Bella ,ve are sending much prayers
Siber -is rude you do not talk to Natasha Vhat is matter?
12:19 pm on February 29th, 2012
Okay, Borzoi, Husky Hugs and Kisses on this Leap Year Day. I miss you when you are off on one of your secret missions.
12:21 pm on February 29th, 2012
The dogs of Snowhook will step up! I know it.
The Pack is sending messages to the Snowhook pack. I am sending good thoughts, good vibes and healing prayers.
12:21 pm on February 29th, 2012
Belle: I don’t think it’s a good idea to throw up right now. I’m getting a little nervous myself, enough to throw up, but I won’t.
Rebecca and AJ: Strong prayers coming at you from Westchester.
12:22 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca: What exactly is wrong with Charlie and Fritz?
12:34 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio: I think the Spanish Inquisition reference is from Monty Python: “No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.” Here’s an article about it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spanish_Inquisition_(Monty_Python)
12:37 pm on February 29th, 2012
SOB!…sob!sob!sob!…Double pug prayers from me and Beau…sniffle!sob!sob!
12:49 pm on February 29th, 2012
More prayers from here.
12:54 pm on February 29th, 2012
I, too, am thinking and praying for you. Lots of healing thoughts coming to you from here.
1:25 pm on February 29th, 2012
Continuing Good Thoughts and Healing Prayers going out to Snowhook from the Pacific NW.
1:32 pm on February 29th, 2012
Monty!….Thanks Stover! I should have known it was from Monty Python…heh!heh!…Spencer seems to be a big fan of theirs…sniff!
1:33 pm on February 29th, 2012
Dear Loving and Gracious God, creator of all Creatures Great and Small, we humbly beseech You on behalf of Snowhook Kennel. You were there when AJ and Rebecca began the dream of running the Iditarod. You were there when they packed up and headed for Alaska. You were there during Rebecca’s back surgery and AJ’s head injury.
You were there when Whitey was lost (and found!) and you were there when Younger crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
And you are here now.
We ask You to heal the A Team members who are injured. We ask you to keep this dream alive. We ask you to calm AJ’s heart and return the fire to his soul.
This is more than a race. This is the cumulation of a dream and the creation of a community bound together by our love for You.
We thank you in advance with humble hearts.
1:34 pm on February 29th, 2012
BStover: Charlie is out for sure. His wrist was punctured. It is swollen and tender. We will not risk it. His brother and running mate, Fritz is light on one of his hind legs but we can’t tell the damage. Vet checks for the race are this afternoon. Charlie will stay home. We will take Fritz with us just to see, but I’m trying to be realistic.
This just makes me sick.
1:41 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie: Thank you for that beautiful prayer. It makes my sad heart sigh with a little bit of relief. AJ and I are both upset, but aren’t really talking about it. Some worries don’t require a voice.
1:48 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca: I’m so sorry. Charlie is still my favorite. Please let us know what the vet says.
2:01 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca: Is your dad (Coach) okay?
I know the Spanish Inq saying from the movie Sliding Doors which, of course, refers to Monty Python.
2:13 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie – Thank you – Amen.
2:24 pm on February 29th, 2012
Amen!…sob!sob!sob!…It sounds like Lefty started some big ole fight maybe…sniff!…I’m just guessing. I think Coach is the name of one of the sled-dawgs, not Rebecca’s dad…wuffle!
2:25 pm on February 29th, 2012
B: In this case, Coach is a dog who was named after my father. He will heal although an infection is thinking about taking hold; we’ve started him on antibiotics and he is snoozing on the couch right now.
2:37 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca!…Isn’t Annabelle the lead? …snort!….She’s okay, right?….sob!sob!sob!…Or am I making up stuff?
2:53 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie, Thank you for the beautiful prayer. We all needed that.
sob, sob, sob, There is no sniffing here, We are sobbing.
We know Rebecca is sick. We are sick.
2:56 pm on February 29th, 2012
Siber-Sob!…Check your SDD…sob!sob!
2:59 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca, how did Charlie and Fritz get hurt? Was there a rumble?
3:03 pm on February 29th, 2012
A beautiful prayer, Wolfie. You said what is in all our hearts.
The Quilt is over Snowhook. The Plunderers gather around in a Circle of Prayer.
3:10 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie, thank you for the wonderful prayer, and Rebecca, please know that very strong prayers are going up from here in Chevy Chase. Wookie
3:16 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca: Are there a couple of apprentice dogs waiting in the wings hoping for their big moment?
It will all come together before Saturday. I just know it.
3:25 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio, sob, sob, sob, I sent you an SDD
3:35 pm on February 29th, 2012
SiberH!…I sent you one back…sob!sob!sneeze!
3:51 pm on February 29th, 2012
Prayers and healing energies heading towards Snowhook.
4:00 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio and Siber, what are youse not sharing with us? This is like passing notes in school.
Our tummies are all sick now. Soon we will all have to go on Kat’s burger/rice regimen. Churning…churning…churning
4:16 pm on February 29th, 2012
C.Harris: Healing Energies…I like that.
btw. Congrats on your success in uploading Lady’s photo to FOC. Love that picture! Will there be one of Sadie Bear to follow?
4:17 pm on February 29th, 2012
Fellow Sibers, I have come to realize that some of you are worried about the SDD messages. Up until Rebecca’s post today, all Rio and I have been discussing is how to try to get Beau housebroken. After Rebecca’s post, all Rio and I have been doing is sobbing back and forth.
It helps to have a friend to sob with, but mom tells me everything will work out.
4:17 pm on February 29th, 2012
Oley!…We are sharing Sob-Stories…snuffle!
4:19 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio guessed correctly. Lefty got loose late last night and decided it was a night for fighting, not loving. It was a difficult night. As for alternates for our star racers, we can only choose from dogs that had the hearts monitored and blood drawn a few weeks ago. Junior is one of these dogs, but he is young. Fritz and Charlie are a power house. They like to run next to each other and are well matched in stature.
Thank you again for all your prayers and comforting words.
4:20 pm on February 29th, 2012
We posted at the same time.
4:25 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio: Annabelle, while getting older each day, is ready for the trail and is fine.
Belle Starr says she will step up for the race as long as she can ride in the sled and be in charge. I think there might be some gaps in the finer points of sled dog racing. Maybe I’ll have to show her some flip charts.
4:30 pm on February 29th, 2012
Trained!…My friend was has been in touch with a gal from Pug Rescue and she suggested using “belly bands” on Beau for when he was inside…sniff!…They are like diapers that go around the mid-section. My friend thinks this would just make Beau smell worse than he already does….heh!… His bodily odors rival my own as it is.…chuffle!
4:33 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca!…What did the V*e*t*s say? Or have you gone there yet?…sniff!
4:37 pm on February 29th, 2012
I was so upset this morning that I was nice to Natasha. Well, Natasha, I still stand by what I said.
4:41 pm on February 29th, 2012
Did you hear that my Pug friend? Rio Jr. is on the back-up list!
4:44 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie, thank you for that wonderful prayer. We are all pulling for the boys to be better by Saturday.
Where is Melanie? Hope all is alright there. Did she say she would be gone today?
4:46 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rebecca, some of us have been known to get into vicious rumbles also. There has been a lot of blood, and what looked like awful injuries. They miraculously healed before Mom needed to do anything. We are hoping against hope that will be the case for poor Charlie. We love Charlie.
4:51 pm on February 29th, 2012
Snowhook Bella: Wolfie said it well and I add my prayers and healing thoughts to the rest. Very sad for Charlie and cautiously hopeful for Fritz. Will wait to see what the vet says. One dog’s missed opportunity is another one’s chance for glory.
Melanie: Your bling sandals are very classy and the pictures of OTAS (&Papi) and FOTAS (&hat) are appreciated. What a lovely couple.
C.Harris: Glad you got beautiful Lady in FOC in time for the drawing. Congratulations on getting a shout out from Spence!
5:08 pm on February 29th, 2012
C.Harris: Lady in her younger days putting it in 5th gear and zooming over the horizon(lol)I can see her now.
Also, nice shout-out from Chet this morning.
5:27 pm on February 29th, 2012
B.Stover: Interesting link on Leap Year.
SiberH: I clicked on “Best Days” on B.Stover’s link and from today to March 7th are best days for digging holes.
5:29 pm on February 29th, 2012
ALERT: YSAS has gotten a callback for the BE audition. This Friday at 5 pm he will be going in front of directors!
Will catch up later. Have been hibernating. Hate strong lows going through.
Bella, check SDD.
5:36 pm on February 29th, 2012
Dawson, Hey, Thanks! I’m on it!
Yippie for YSAS!!
5:36 pm on February 29th, 2012
We see that Melanie did post earlier, so hope all is well there.
Did anyone see that Davy Jones died? Barb loved some of the early Monkey’s music, although she never really got into their tv show. They performed in some come back tours, and Davy performed some as a single.
5:37 pm on February 29th, 2012
Clarkson!… I knew he would get a call-back!…snort!snort!…I just KNEW it!…Yippeeeee!….We all needed a bit of good news and this is Really good news!…wheeze!
5:46 pm on February 29th, 2012
YSAS on callback!!! That is great news, Melanie! All paws crossed here. Friday at 5 pm is on the calendar to send those good vibrations his way. Is this the same audition that had the small speaking part?
Sorry to hear you are feeling low today. Those weather fronts will get you every time.
5:50 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wood!….Someone says she has to chop some wood when she gets home from the busy-place tonight…sniff!…She says I can go out in the front yard with her while she cleans up branches that have blown down during all this damned wind…grunt! … The wood will be used on her Get-Away Vacation in the Mountains. Apparently she thinks there will not be an kindling in the area she will be staying, so she is taking her own up there…heh!heh!…Remember those Perma-logs she bought when our power went out way back in October….brrrrr!…She’s taking those along too!…huffle! …Camp fires aren’t what they used to be…wheeze!
5:54 pm on February 29th, 2012
Is ok Siber. Ve know you have the bashful. And ve know that deep down you love Natasha. Ve vill take hugs and kisses …… for now.
(vink, vink)
6:01 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rio, Your friend is right to take her own fuel…the mountains have been stripped bare of that stuff around campgrounds and cabins.
6:08 pm on February 29th, 2012
Barb: I saw the news about Davy Jones. He was 66 I believe and died of a heart attack.
Go YSAS!
6:19 pm on February 29th, 2012
Natasha – Today is Sadie Hawkins Day. You gotta go get Siber-H today or wait four years. You snooze you lose.
6:19 pm on February 29th, 2012
Wolfie: Your prayer was just lovely.
My tummy is feeling sick hearing about the injuries to the A-team. I think a miracle will happen, and they will be tip-top for the big day.
Rebecca: Please keep us posted.
Melanie: WooooHoooo for YSAS!
6:26 pm on February 29th, 2012
Barb: I am old enough to remember the Monkees. They were television’s answer to the Beatles. The Prof called me at work as soon as he heard. I was shocked. My sister had their records, and as kids, my brother, sister, and I did watch the show. I think my favorite song by them is “Little Bit Me, Little Bit You”
If I’m not mistaken, Neil Diamond wrote that song.
6:32 pm on February 29th, 2012
Having gone thru fights between four leggeds it can be heartbreaking when one of them gets hurt. Thinking of Snowhook’s vet visit and that all goes well.
Yes, it is the role with the speaking part!
Had the Mac doc here today. He figured out how to get Dan and I to understand how he can dictate into the iPaw, copy and paste to pages, edit and then print directly from the iPaw. Pretty cool. Really tired Dan out!
The Mac doc also made other things work better. It’s amazing how much mail can pile up in the inbox. Now the Amazon stuff will go directly to a smart mailbox! All on it’s own!
Pretty cool … Still in hibernation mode. Hate lows.
6:49 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rose, I think Neil Diamond and Carole King among others wrote songs for The Monkeys. You’re right, they were tv’s answer to The Beatles.
7:09 pm on February 29th, 2012
Riö, some people use the Perma logs to start the fire and when it gets very low they put on the regular logs.
There is a sale on Stormy Kromer hats today only.
B.Stover: Here’s the one I ordered. Brick cord. Or 100% Cotton for when there is no snow. Today, though, is definitely wool cap day!
7:19 pm on February 29th, 2012
Barb&Magpie: We did love the Monkeys (Hey Hey We’re the Monkeys) Sorry to hear about Davy Jones. Seems even sadder when it’s groups we grew up with.
Melanie: Nana says she can relate to the information overload Dan was experiencing earlier. Future Shock indeed. Alan Toffler saw it coming back in 1970.
We love the Stormy Kromers!
Still haven’t gotten to the links from earlier. It may be time for a nap…..
7:25 pm on February 29th, 2012
B&M: Yes, I believe Carole King wrote “Pleasant Valley Sunday.”
7:28 pm on February 29th, 2012
I have “Daydream Believer” running through my head and can’t get it out.
7:28 pm on February 29th, 2012
Purrs and prayers for the Smowhook dogs. Hopefully, the one will be able to run and will adjust to a new team member beside him.
Yeah for YSAS!
7:30 pm on February 29th, 2012
Bet y’all didn’t know the kennel had been renamed Smowhook–Geez!
7:35 pm on February 29th, 2012
Oh, I love that Melanie! I know about the sale because SK sent an email. Maybe I’ll get a cord hat……
7:40 pm on February 29th, 2012
Rose: Carole King another favorite!
Melanie: I found mom’s credit card and ordered her a SK. She’ll be so happy.
Earlier today Admin was mentioning a movie about a couple getting. together only on Leap Year. The movie is called Same Time Next Year. featuring Alan Alda & Ellen Burnstyn. The couple actually meets every year, but the viewer is only offered a glimpse into the visits that occur every four or five years. Good views of the changing times.
7:47 pm on February 29th, 2012
Masquers: “Tapestry” is one of the great albums.
7:49 pm on February 29th, 2012
I just ordered a mustard cord from SK. Don’t know how to put up a picture.
7:54 pm on February 29th, 2012
B.Stover’s hat!

Rio: According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the best days for cutting wood are from now until March 7th, the same as for digging holes.
Melanie: Hoorah for YSAS getting a callback to BE. I will be thinking of him on Friday. And…I love the corduroy Stormy Kromer.
Praying for Snowhook Kennel doggies.
8:18 pm on February 29th, 2012

Like B., Daydream Believer is a favorite of mine.
I keep my music in iTunes and then load it on my iPod and iPhone. I play those out my car’s speakers or earbuds – “And she shall have music wherever she goes.”

Hi everyone – long day here Remember that Mama gave Dad a Nook Color for his birthday. She was trying to set it up for him and was feeling really stupid cuz she couldnt get things to work
So today the two of them went to Barnes and Noble to the Nook help desk Long story short – his Nook was defective They replaced it and set it all up while Mama looked around And the long story short on THAT is that she is now looking at the blog on HER new Nook tablet She says it is for a trial run, but we dont think she is going to take it back
Her computer is still at the computer doctor – its pretty sick. So she will get lots of chances to try this out
Rebecca -rayers going

Hope!… We cannot give up hope…snort!… Remember our motto, “Plunder On”…sniff!…That’s what AJ and the A-minus Team will have to do….wuffle!…But we have to be strong for them too…grunt!…We have to quit our Sob!Sob!Sobbing and ask those guys what we can do to help them. At this late date I bet Rebecca will say just pray for strength and healing…snuffle!

Hello my dear plunderers from the middle of the mitten.
We are thrilled for YSAS and believe this is an awesome opportunity. Whoo Hoo!
Heartbroken for the injuries at Snowhook. Thinking and praying for the A team.
Remembering Davy Jones. I drive by the Clarksville exit on my way back and forth to Grand Rapids.
Sissy’s MRI results are in, no surprises. She is opting for a double mastectomy to prevent any future yucky surprises. She will have reconstruction directly after the mastectomy, so she will have the cancer surgeon and the plastic surgeon at the same time. Surgery day is March 7.
Mom is the oldest of 4 girls. Sissy #3 received word today that her ex and father of her 15 year old son has aggressive pancreatic cancer. They are just numb right now.
I’ve decided that I don’t care much for that soft, expensive food that mom has been feeding me since my toothless weekend adventure, so I’ve been eating my regular Iams hard kibble today. It’s the best way that I can tell mom that I’m healed up enough to play tug with my ropes.
I’m done with today, so I’m crawling under the quilt with AJ and Rebecca.
9:46 pm on February 29th, 2012
Jasper!…You are one tough little dude…heh!…Already eating that hard kibble and looking to play tug o’war…sniff!… My teeth don’t come together correctly but I sure would miss them if they were gone all of a sudden…grunt!…If that unfortunate incident did happen to me I think I would probably lap up the expensive soft food for as long as I could get it…heh!…And whine miserably every night so that a little ice-cream might find its way into my bowl…snuffle! …You gotta work it Jasper! Don’t be a tough guy – play the sympathy card and get the most out of your misery that you can…chuffel!

Rio is right. It is time to stop sobbing. I am through sobbing.
ONWARD!
Jasper, if you can eat kibble now, you are doing good.
I am so sorry about your mom’s sis and her family.

Goodness what a difficult day. I hope that Snowhook can plunder on. Prayers and more prayers going up from our house. Wolfie said it best.

My sympathy to Jasper’s mom niece. Mom’s nephew was 13 when her brother passed from pancreatic cancer. This is a terrible, nasty disease.

V*e*t….grunt!… I am also standing by for the official medical report…sniff! …Surely they have been to see the v*e*t by now. Maybe they are doing chores and feeding everybody (except Lefty)…grumble!

Healing thoughts for Snowhook.

Prayers posted on this blog and said silently in hearts have been answered. The race vets gave Fritz the go ahead to run. We are still tentative. AJ plans to take Fritz for a short run before Saturday. If that goes well we might put him in the team for the Ceremonial start. Depending on how that goes he could still make the team. He is not feeling tip top, he is tender and sore, yet it was with relief that we heard the vet’s words. Thank you for helping with this burden that constricted our hearts since last night.

Wind!…Now Barb in Illinois has all the wind…sniff!….Well, get ready for days and days of it Barb….wuffle!… Like I’ve said before, you can probably smell me and Beau’s breath on it…heh!heh!,…Goodnight!

Rebecca!…Any idea how Fritz will do without Charlie?…wuffle!…Poor Charlie…snuffle!

Thanks for letting us know Rebecca.
We will keep Snowhook in our prayers.
Fritz, Get well, buddy

OMG!… Right now Beau is lying on the floor snoozing downstairs with us (you’ve seen this)…and his tail started WAGGING WILDLY for a long time….heh!heh!…My friend and I just watched in disbelief …snorkel! …We both think this is a good sign for Snowhook…chorkel
10:34 pm on February 29th, 2012
Sign!…With that sign of wonderment, we are all going up to our respective beds…heh!…Goodnight all! Godspeed health and healing to all the A-Team and everyone in-between…wuffle!

Fritz and Charlie almost always run together, yet on the Knik 200 race they started to huffle and gruffle with each other—someone mustbhave said something that hurt the other’s feeling—so AJ separated them before anything could happen. Wise move.
With the distance between them, hurt feelings were forgotten. “Fritz! I’m here and you’re there! Can you believe?” Charlie yarked.
Responding with a deeper yark, but not by much, Fritz called, “How did this happen. What is the view like?”
On and on they they continued as the team continued loudly along the trail. Dog teams usually run in silence. Not Snowhook, not this day. As AJ passed a team, the conversations between the two boys was enough to give other mushers pause. Not longer after being separated they were reunited at the musher’s hands.
“Hey, did you miss me?” Head bump.

I very much enjoyed that story, Rebecca. We all needed a smile.
Night All

SnowBella: I love the story of Fritz and Charlie yarking back and forth. Heh! We know how the hurt feelings can come about. Words are barked, tails stepped on, bad feelings all around. But families don’t hold grudges, do they, especially teammates. I feel so bad for Charlie who will be watching the Insider videos and listening to the Race reports from the sidelines. Perhaps he can man the GPS tracker…a most important job.
A sigh of relief for the positive vet’s report on Fritz. Paws crossed and good thoughts coming your way.
Know that you are always in our prayers.
Bear signing off until tomorrow.

Oh man! I was typing a loooong post, and just when I finished it and was going to go back and check for typos, all of a sudden the blog went back to the top and now my post disappeared. I didn’t even touch anything, I swear!
11:44 pm on February 29th, 2012
Anyway, I was just saying, Hey, y’all! Our best to Snowhook! We’re glad Fritz passed the mustard at the v*e*t. Rebecca, maybe you need to give him a good talking to, and let him know just how important it is for him to heal FAST!
11:46 pm on February 29th, 2012
(I’m keeping these short now!) I was also saying that my uncle was — and is! — a huge fan of the Monkees. When Mom heard about Davy Jones, she texted my uncle. He wrote back that he couldn’t understand it, because Davy Jones was a heart throb, not a heart attack!
11:52 pm on February 29th, 2012
And the other thing I said was for Jasper. My girl never lost a single baby tooth naturally — they would hang on until the new tooth started growing in, and they would pinch the inside of her mouth everytime she ate. So whenever she got a loose tooth, she would have to have it pulled. One time Mom took her to the dentist because she was having problems with two teeth, and when the dentist took x-rays he said she had several more that would be in the same situation within the next few weeks. When Mom told him they were moving in a couple weeks, he said it would probably be easier all around if he just went ahead and pulled all of the bad ones. So she had eight teeth pulled at once! Luckily, brand-new teeth grew right back in. Are yours going to do that?

Today, I went to the beach front with my children.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said
“You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell
someone!

This is a must for those that have young children who we know have a habit of scratching the game discs to the
point they no longer function and also not to forget the rate kids tend
to lose things. If you are new to using roms and you want to find a good emulator
to run them there here is a few emulators I would suggest. N5 supports clean ROMs, Homebrews and Multimedia files with no slow-downs or hang-ups.
