Not Beginnings
Normally on Sundays we do beginnings, taking a look at the start of a Peter Abrahams novel, including those written under the Spencer Quinn moniker™, but yesterday the quilt came up in the comments, so before we forget …
The C&B-themed patchwork quilt (below) was made by the Plunderers (an active subset here at the blog). It hangs in the office where all the writing gets done, a thing of beauty and a good luck charm.

Greetings!
I love the Plunderer Quilt! Missing those who have crossed over the Bridge that are pictured on the quilt…Sniff.
RIO! I found the main character of “The Plot” quite loathsome.
Staff: My eye looked pretty bad (both times!). This all started on the 16th. It had cleared up by early Tuesday morning, and then by 10:00 that morning, the eye had become blood red again. It’s still red… :^(
Create a good day!

Good morning to all!
Quite right about a thing of beauty. Also it is unique and artistic.
Plunderers are artistic and have good taste in books.
Super Sunday!

Love the quilt…and that it is a “good luck charm” for Spence!
Good day to all.

That is a lovely quilt. everyone contributed a block or photo and then it was unified with some consistent prints in the background. What a wonderful, unique, personal remembrance for all. All inspired by Chet the Jet.

I missed out on the quilt due both to being way too busy at work and too unimaginative. I recall there being a brief discussion of another project that would allow the missing dogs/cats to participate but we never could come up with an idea.
Moving more boxes into storage. It is still an overwhelming project but I am taking it one box at a time. The closing date on the new house is in early September. I was hoping to donate a lot of stuff to a non-profit Rummage Sale this next weekend but it looks like it might be canceled out of concern over COVID. Our hospitals are full again.

Quilt!…snort!…I remember coming up with the idea because we had so many talented quilters here on the blog at the time…chuffle!…It is still lovely I hope. Age does do things to cloth and such…sniffle!…I spotted it on the office wall during the last Event Spencer participated in…wuffle!

Hobbit. They say moving is one of the top three most stressful things in life.
I can’t say if I’ll be moving or not but I will be starting a decade long project of organizing and downsizing. I’ve already come across quite a few things that need to go. Either sold, donated ot charity, given as gifts or just plain tossed out. I’ve bought a bunch of Sterilite totes for storage. I want nothing in boxes any more. If it can’t go in a tote it needs to leave the house. Some totes will eventually empty as projects are completed. One has a childhood doll and I’ve just bought fabric to make her a wardrobe and linens for her doll bed. I never played with the doll as a child so she is in very good shape except for missing eyes. I’m going to try my hand at making replacements out of FIMO as they don’t make them. I have yarn that will become afghans and fabric that will become quilts. When my house is paid off in about 15 years I can then decide if I want to stay or go to a Senior community and use my house as income property. If I do, I would need to downsize so I’m starting now so that when the time comes if I decide to move, the move will be easy. I think if I start now it will keep the stress under control no matter which way I decide.
Rio: What about….Christmas ornaments? Maybe in honor of What a Wonderful Woof’s upcoming release?

Miaiuppa: You are wise to look at it as a 10-year project. I have actually been donating things to non-profit stores and Rummage sales but I still have a lot of stuff. I will be moving more than I should to the new house but will continue to work on it. It is wonderful to have a house paid off; that has only happened to me once in my life.
Some kind of Christmas ornaments sound wonderful in honor of What a Wonderful Woof.
I am staying up late tonight as I am expecting guests! See you all tomorrow.
