Spence is being interviewed. It’s either about sound investment advice in difficult economic times, or the Chet and Bernie series.

    Good Morning All.

Gooood morning, everyone! If OFA is doing a Chet & Bernie interview, let’s hope the interviewer doesn’t write (say) ” It’s a good read.” If it is about financial advice and it is good, have Chet pass it along as I’m sure HOH, OH, Siber H, Rio et al would love to let their 4 leggers in on it.
Melanie: Really work at doing nothing.
B&M: Pawsitive thoughts for no floods & continued “somep” pump.
    Hobbit: There’s no place like…glad you’re there.
T&G: Give your 2 leggers lots of love.
Anyone not specifically named: It is titilating Tues. Take time to smell something.

I wonder if “sound investment advice” is a contradiction in terms.

    Good morning all.

I just hope the sound investment advice has nothing to do with Hawaiian pants or tin futures.

We never saw a problem with Hawaiian pants, just not with a plaid shirt!

    Oh, and good morning all.

I guess Hawaiian Pants could be considered a very, very long term investment.

Good Morning all on this Not Rest Day. Working out pretty well except I have to do computer work for four different people. I was going outside to enjoy the day.

Looking outside, I am going to stay inside.

My investment advice (sound or not) has to do with cash in coffee cans buried in the back yard.

I have never seen a pair of Hawaiian pants but, now that I’m retired, I’d wear some (in the back yard).

Beautiful sunny day with only 3 or 4 inches of sparkling snow gracing the drooping branches of trees.

  20. Melanie

It was during Prohibition . . homemade brandy.

I tried it last year. This year I will not put the tops of the jars on tightly. They exploded.

Sheesh! At $50. a pair you can count me out on the Hawaiian pants! Because they have pockets and elastic waistbands, I’d consider the ones on sale…except they are made of rayon! How hot (temperature) would I be?

On the other hand, I wouldn’t need a Chet the Dog badge when I went to meet and greet other Plunderers.

We could all start wearing Hawaiian pants to show our solidarity with Bernie.

I just finished reading the article on the Iditarod in the New Yorker. That is a very good article, and I wish the New Yorker would send this guy every year to the Iditarod to report on it.
I am going to mention this since the author of the article brought it up. Halliburton is the corporate sponsor of the Berington sisters, the twins with pigtails. This is BIG money.

  28. Siber-H

Siber-H: Halliburton is the Berrington Twins Sponsor?
This is Scary big-time. Is it any wonder they have the Best of the Best on the Trail.

Speaking of the Iditarod…Now reading Rio’s recommended book…Murder on the Iditarod Trail.
Yeep! Thank Dog we were not reading it during the Big Race…not that we would have had the Time.

Herd of Hounds: Don’t worry about any faux paws. Until this here blog sports an Edit Button we all will just have to deal.

Staff, Speaking of forcing, remember a month ago when Barb clipped about 2 doz. branches from the neighbor’s “Kitty Willow” bush? She gave a few to Lyla and Jack, and kept the rest in a vase of water. Now every single one of ours and theirs are rooting! We will have a lot of new baby bushes to plant.

More rain. In the 7 day outlook, there are 2 days without chance of rain!

  31. Siber-H
    3:33 pm on April 23rd, 2013

Bear, The author of the article said Halliburton. I figure it has to be the Halliburton we are thinking of because why else would he have mentioned it. I wonder how the twins managed that. I agree, it is scary.

It will surprise most of you to learn I have never read, Murder on the Iditarod Trail.

We just got a text from Mama at the hospital. Seems she had to grab a few pantlegs around there just to make sure the Storyteller got the best care. He is sleeping quite a bit today, but that is ok. Someone at the hospital gave him some very bad p i l l s over the weekend when Mama wasnt looking, and they did baaaaaddddd things to him .
But today is better. And tomorrow will be better yet
And pretty soon he will be up and about again-and will probably want a pair of Hawaiian pants to boot!

  34. Melanie
    3:56 pm on April 23rd, 2013

That was a good book. Read it many years ago.

So who is going to be the first to sport those pants?

I did two things today that needed brain power. All my brain power is gone.

All 96 pictures from the shower are now primped. I then created a iMovie of them for her. Tomorrow I try to figure out how to go from two iPaw videos to one edited movie. Whew. Then put everything on a thumbdrive and send it to her.

At least I didn’t have to drive anywhere.

BSD, What are some of the books on your to read list? You seem to like a lot of the same kinds of books and movies as we do. If you havent read Water for Elephants, Barb loved that one.

“Call Julie First” was here today and marked the utilities where we are putting the raised gardens. The only thing our stakes might have hit is Comcast. The other utilities snake around under the gardens, so if the companies ever need to dig and do a repair, they will tear up the gardens. The lines are too deep for our stakes to have damaged. Good thing, because if you damage a ComEd line you can be fined $5,000! That is a lot of veggies!

We just got back from a nice long walk. If youse can believe it, Pop was trying to give us each a treat as Mom was waiting with our walking leashes. Rio: The Season 5 finale of Mad Men hinted at the changes coming.
Our take on Don Draper is that, because of his past, he has a strong need to feel admired and loved. That certainty that he is the center of everyone’s universe is slowly unraveling.
His Wife, Megan, is becoming a success at her chosen profession. Suddenly she is no longer available to be at his beck and call 24/7, both professionally and personally.
His Protege, Peggy has moved on to a rival firm.
His character may not always be acting in a likeable manner, but he certainly is interesting.
