T&G Hugh Neff, the musher, is someone we have grown to like over the last few years, but as you said, one never knows.
Two years ago he said he would never do the south to north Yukon Quest route again, but we see he has signed up to do that Quest route this year. It is a tough trail and he had problems on it two years ago. The kind of problems that can happen to any musher and team…he just got unlucky. If I remember correctly, the main problem was a poorly marked trail through overflow on the ice.

Mr.Staff will be driven to a orthopedic doctor in about 5 minutes. I will let you know his knee (left) status later. He said it is 100% better than Saturday, but my Dad says 100% of nothing is nothing.

Poop Patrol Today! Down to 4 inches of slush. Not sure if that is because it’s melting, or I’ve removed so much of it with the Poop. Anywoof, I put the sled right where I wanted it, turned my back for a shovelful of you know what and heard the sled moving.
Certain that one of the pack had gotten tangled in the cord, I turned around and there was Rose with front feet in the sled and pushing herself around with her back feet. I swear she was grinning.
She went twenty feet.

He was on that knee for 48 hours. He wouldn’t have made the appointment. I did it and didn’t give him any choice. He has had trouble with this knee for 20 years but it always got better in a few days. He was going to ‘maybe’ go to the doctor in a week if it didn’t get better.
He is sitting in the recliner with Abbie the Kitty holding him down and enjoying a martini. He is reading the latest David Rosenfelt, Leader of the Pack.

Rio: Guess what my Lady did for me tonight? No! Not even close, but I’ll tell you anyway. The Giant was chopping up a big ol’ block of frozen chicken skins while my Lady was chopping a big ol’ block frozen beef. Tenzing, Luna, Belle Starr and Annabelle—the Scavangers—were stealing scraps here and there. We each got some chicken skin, but my Lady snatched a chicken skin, hid it in her fist, and when they left the kennel tonight, she walked over to me and gave me the extra!
