    Good Sunday Morning!

Reading these names rips my heart to pieces. I cannot understand how these poor innocents can be taken away like this. The only comfort is knowing that the creator is holding each of them in the embrace of his love.

Buddy, will you be my kitty? Sigh!

Hi Bear. Thanks for missing us. First off, we lost our iPaw early Friday when the rents took off for dinner and fun with friends. Then, to add salt to the wound, they took our Sibaru and iPaw to a meeting yesterday morning, and didn’t return until suppertime. Thankfully, they brought lots of food (whispering and gifts) home with them. They ate a late supper and then we all collapsed in front of the t.v. to watch Bourne Legacy, which we 4-leggeds didn’t get at all.

I would like to update on other goings on at Snowhook. My Lady brought home two new dog pillows last night. She said she got them on a one day, super sale of $14 a piece. She said that the others may have been stained with Orion’s recent medical problems. I was wary at first of the new pillows as I always am, but my lady laid on one with me to show me it was alright. I was still suspect. But, this morning when she came down to make breakfast for AJ, there I was, sound asleep on my new, second favorite pillow.

Orion will be just fine. He is on straw rest for a bit longer and still has his undercarriage in tact. Our Lady says after the race he will find himself with a about more room in his nethers. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by this. I will have to show him the flip charts.

    Non-stop prayers for Zoe here.
For those who need a bit of hope in the world, here is a nice quote:
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” — Mister Rogers

Creator – we thank you this day for the community that we have together. We thank you for the laughter and the love our hearts have shared. We thank you for the closeness we have and the strength that comes from our bond.

Creator – we lift our prayers as one voice. As one heart, we ask you to ease the pain of our Zoe. Let the injury to her body, and the ache in her heart be borne by those of us who love her, and who can withstand this hurt.

Creator – we thank you for our community, and our bond of love. Please listen to our hearts lifted to you in healing prayers and be with Zoe.

I just got off the phone with our dear Melanie. What a day it has been for her. She is at home right now and I told her to get under the Quilt which will also cover Zoe. It seems Zoe was taken to a better hospital than the first choice, if I understood correctly. The hospital Zoe is at is further away from Melanie, but only 10 minutes away from Melanie’s sister. Zoe was awaks and aware when she was loaded into the ambulance and was none to happy with being put in extra pain as she was moved; Melanie kept a hold of her cane so Zoe wouldn’t teach anyone a lesson. Spitfire!

Our dear sister, Melanie is having a difficult day. She said, “This is just too much.” Oh, sweet sister, we wish we could be with you. She did call Amalia. Leonard had her phone. She told Leonard what happened. He paused for a time and then told her with conviction, “Zoe will be okay.” It is just the time between now and and ‘okay’ that feels like a journey that is difficult to navigate.

Rio: Your prayer is wonderful. I don’t think CHH is alone in having constant prayers since hearing the news.

Would anyone be interested in having a prayer gathering earlier than our usual time? Melanie said she would appreciate a prayer gathering and she knows Zoe would, too.

This was a fabulous day right up until Mom glanced at her phone and saw bad news about Zoe. Before that, Dima, Meashka, and Kat all visited Santa and had a bzillion pictures taken. Then we played with all the other doggies and bought a permanent water bowl for the Sibaru and more toys for our stocking.
On the way home, we made a spur of the moment stop at Antietam Lake and had a nice hike thru the woods.
While at the Humane Society’s gift shop, lookie what we saw on the shelves. We also saw a very large GS who Mom said looked just like her picture of Chet. So she talked his mom into buying DOI !!!

Creator – we thank you this day for the community that we have together. We thank you for the laughter and the love our hearts have shared. We thank you for the closeness we have and the strength that comes from our bond. Creator, today has been a difficult day for part of this community, our chosen family, and it is times like these we are even more grateful for the bond among us.

Creator – we lift our prayers as one voice. As one heart, we ask you to ease the pain of our Zoe. Let the injury to her body, and the ache in her heart be borne by those of us who love her, and who can withstand this hurt. We offer the strong shoulders of our collective spirit to carry the pain, and give the arms of our unified bond to lift and comfort.

Lord of All Creatures, please be with our beloved Zoe right now and heal her wounds. Lord, please wrap your loving arms around Melanie and comfort her as she is distressed and terribly worried about her mother, as we all are. Both are special to us. Lord we ask that you give Zoe the strength she needs for a full recovery. We ask that she will heal properly and quickly, and with no long lasting effects. Please bring her home to be with her family for Dan’s celebration and for Christmas.

Creator – please guide and direct those who treat Zoe’s physical pains that they will do so with expertise and tender care. She is our treasure. Creator, we thank thee for the surety of the spoken words, “Zoe will be okay.” We are grateful for the one who spoke these words, for the comfort they provide, and we ask thee to make the path easy from this day to the place of ‘okay.’

Creator – we thank you for our community, and our bond of love. Please listen to our hearts lifted to you in healing prayers and be with Zoe and all who love her.

Thank you everyone. Been a long hard day.

    How it stands.
    2 stitches in her forehead.
a crack in her L1 vertebra that has NOT compromised her spinal cord.
the broken rib that punctured her lung
She is in ICU. There is a small blood bubble on her vertebra that is being watched.
Tomorrow she will get x rays to see if her arm, her leg, or her wrist is broken or just badly bruised.

    I am tired.

We are on our way home from the show. It was a good one. But the drive home is going to be very slow, long and scary. Ice pellets are raining down and the road is slippery. We know you will all be with us, but a quick prayer couldn’t hurt.

The blog has been too interesting today. It is better when it is boring.

I have been wrapping presents. Including mine. Mr.Staff and Dawson are watching the last of this season’s Survivor. It is a good thing they have each other to talk to about it. That means I don’t have to listen to either one discuss it.

What a blessing! I am so grateful that Zoe didn’t have any more broken bones. I will consider this a day of blessings especially once Golinka and Leonard arrive home safely. It is a blessing that Zoe didn’t sustain worse injury in her twelve foot fall. Leonard’s wisdom is a blessing. It is a blessing that we have one another. It is a blessing that all (Golinka, I’m counting you among this group) traveled safely today—that Staff and Barb returned home from their journies whether near or far.

Melanie: I received a text from Coach. My parents are including you and Zoe in their prayers.

I arrived to my hotel room for tonight safely. It is currenlty forty degrees below zero. Tomorrow I will get up early and get on a small plane and head north. I brought my bunny boots for this trip.

Golinka: Please check in when you get home if you’re not too tire.

Home! Home! Slipping and sliding but not bumping or scraping.

Rio – trust us, Mama is much better suited for dark, winter road driving than our Dad. She even kept the speed down from her usual 80 mph on the road home from Boston. (did we ever tell you about the first time she made it home in record time. That was the time that she was bring Melanie home from the Boston hospital. Melanie was SO sick, and in SUCH pain, and Mama was scared to death driving her all the way home. At one point, Mama thought for sure Melanie was going to pass out. At that point, she just nailed the gas pedal to the floor and FLEW! She figured is she had to get Melanie to another hospital on the way home, she knew exactly what exits had hospitals…and if a cop stopped her, she would just have him escort them to the closest hospital. We found out that day just how fast a Malibu Maxx can go….ZOOOOOOMMM!!)
