“How come?” says Spence.

“Christmas shopping,” Admin says.

“You?”

“What’s so odd?”

“You’re actually entering stores?”

“As few as possible.”

“Wouldn’t want to be in their … “

“What was that?”

“Nothing.”

    Good Morning All!

Hey, hat tip to Spence, Bernie, and Chet at Bookfinds!

G&BB, hope you dad is tip top. Positive and healing thoughts going out to him from Westchester.

Rebecca, when you have a moment would you please check your SDD?

Hope all of you on the left coast are safe and dry with this unusual weather you are having. An update from Weatherkat is needed.

    Good day to all!

It’s a safe bet that everyone here loves dogs & a good mystery. I’m asking for help from the Nation within a Nation in solving a mystery.

Odin is going on 10mo old and like Chet, is a 100 pounder. When Odin buried the clothes from the hamper, I figured he missed me when I was at work all day. But when I got home last night, I found that Odin had buried my hand mixer & my mini crockpot. How he got them from the shelf above the stove is a mystery in itself.

I’m not sure if Odin just doesn’t like my cooking, or if he believes the Mayan calendar & is trying to stock a fallout shelter with stuff we’ll need after 12/21/12.

Are there any other Friends of Chet out there, that bury kitchen appliances? If so, why? Any suggestions on how to divert Odin’s attention to a better purpose would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, Kandi, our best excavator on the blog is Siber-H. He is well known for his construction sites in his back yard.

Counter surfing is well known here at The Pack’s house. Many of the 4 footed fur people on Chet’s blog are getting certificates in that field. It sounds like Odin is doing some homework.

So some suggestions from a house with over 130 pounders in it. Keep things off the counter. Put things away. And you might want to bungee cord your refrigerator. Yes, we’ve had to do that once.

Odin is a puppy. The clothes? They have your smell and that is an invitation. Kitchen appliances? What can I say, they were just there!

Good luck! (Our refrigerator stayed shut with bungee cords for one week. Then Rose forgot about it.)

Good Morning Rose! Good Morning All!

Yesterday was supposed to be sunny and warmer. It stayed foggy and wet all day and cold. Today the sun is shining!

I was exhausted last night. (I dreamed I was driving allllll night.) But not depleted enough to find something very funny and then do a quick photoshop!

I should know better, but it was really funny. I showed it to Zoe and she laughed and laughed. Here you go!

I am a bit of a counter cruiser, but more along the food lines. Appliances never held much interest. Melanie has good advice, but we are wondering where Odin is burying these items. Does he have access to the outside while you are gone? Doggy door, perhaps?

    I’M AWAKE!

And I found another picture. In “Dog On It’ Bernie and Chet go to their weapons consultant. I don’t remember his name, but I do remember he had part of an egg in his beard and Chet was watching to see if it would fall off.

Anywoof, that dude talks about where the knife comes from and he talks about the Caucasus in Russia as a place for Iron mines.

Odin – pssst- hey buddy. Watch out. Your human is trying to get information about why us furry ones do the stuff we do. Burying a crockpot? Really dude, you can get more creative than that. If she doesn’t give you plenty of your own toys to play with, or Kongs stuffed with frozen peanut butter or other great stuff like that, you keep taking HER toys and burying them. We say – go for it! But try something challenging. Have you thought about burying her ironing board?

Rio – This gluten-free thing isn’t as easy as it looks – even on a Paleo diet. Gift food! Sam’s Mom bought me a delicious gluten free cheesecake that wasn’t. Last week Sam’s Dad gave me spinach and artichoke hummus that was processed in a facility that uses nuts and wheat. (That’s a lesson for me.) So they meant well or are they really trying to do me in?

  23. Siber-H
    11:34 am on December 5th, 2012

Kandi, I dig but I don’t bury things. My dear friend, Molly, a Siber, does take things from the house, out the doggie door, and buries them. The two-leggeds think she does this stuff because it is fun and entertaining. Also, everyone who knows Molly, including me, believes that Molly is more intelligent than the average Siber. This is a way for Molly to exercise her brain.

Putting away everything in the house that Odin may take outside is the best way to handle this problem. That, of course, is easier said than done.

Dog shrinks are all in agreement that dogs do not do things to get back at us…like chew up the couch while we are away because they are mad at us.

You might be able to slow down or stop Odin’s thieving and burying by finding him other things to do… like tiring him out so to speak.
This is another thing that is easier said than done.

Masquers: Here’s a recipe for Hollandaise Sauce to go on the poached eggs:
    1/2 c butter
    3 beaten egg yolks
    1 T water
    1 T lemon juice
    Salt and pepper

Cut butter into thirds. In double boiler combine egg yolks, water and lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add a piece of butter. Stir with a whisk until butter melts and sauce begins to thicken. Add butter a piece at a time and continue stirring until sauce thickens. Makes 3/4 c sauce.

Appliances are an acquired taste. Me? I enjoy footwear. Not to chew on, mind, but to take from the house and place elsewhere on the property. Once I’ve found the perfect place—usually in the middle of the driveway—, I fill the footwear with rocks. Sometimes I do this with a pair of shews and other times I do it with one shew on day and follow up with the other the nex day.

We are with all of youse who hate shopping and prefer to do it online.
Masquers, we make our hollandaise in the food processor. Then just heat to thick, if necessary, on top of the stove.
Kandi, we don’t bury household items. Never even thought of that idea. But we would get caught on our way out of the house. Now, what we do like to take and spread out on the farm is anything delivered by UPS, USPS, or FEDEX…

Thanks to everyone that gave me advice and shared what their favorite/funny things to do/bury are! Rocks in the shoes, FED EX/UPS packages, the fridge etc.! Odin has lots of chew toys, but I guess he wants something more challenging. Odin has a big doggie door to go out in the backyard, with all of his ill gotten gain. I’m off to go Christmas shopping for bungee cords & child proof locks.
Odin: Awww mom, I told Santa that I wanted that 3ft long rawhide candy cane for Christmas!!

If our fair gender insist on wearing spiked heels, then being unable to run from the bad guys, could they at least take one of the shows off and use it as a weapon?

They put me on some shiny metal and then they tell me my weight. Staff complains how light I am until she picks me up. When she picks up AbbietheKitty she makes grunting noises.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said that.

Staff said to tell you all that the New Yorker finally put out another big Book of Dog Cartoons. It came out October 30th she thinks. They have put out more books about kats than dogs so this is a rare event. (Kats are smarter you know)

Nighty noodle I will toodle off to bed.

Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to master every single method.

If you believe your phone has been hacked then contact the police immediately – it’s illegal.
A “hacker” is for me a person who is an “advanced power user”
and not necessarily somebody who is a programmer.
